Hhhmmmm....how did you do that? As far as I know those two has to be THE SAME, otherwise you'll get an unstable device and can brick it easily!
And please (!!!!!) read the forum....there are tons of threads on how to unlock SIM and CID, so I guess you still did not read to much.

I believe what are you said. but i just got it today from T-mobile as replacement.
Upgrade to the latest 2.26.10.2 T-Mobile Rom, you can find it on this forum.
I believe if you do that then everything will be okay for your device.
I hope they don't gave you a "refurbished" device.

Do not flash any custom rom until you flash a 2.xx official carrier rom (Step 17 of the Dr. P unlocking guide.) You will have all sorts of issues. Try either the Cingular 2.25 or T-Mobile 2.26. If you flash a custom 2.xx or higher rom with 1.xx bootloaders your GSM will not work, your phone will not charge and the PDA will be very sluggish.

first,plz always post full data of your phone,although you have posted the Device info,but you have not posted the actual data IPL/SPL...? of your phone,which determines the DOC chip of your phone,so post the IPL/SPL...?
As you say that you are using wm5,it must be T-Mobile official Rom,which come pre-installed on the phone,therefore your phone is SIM/CID locked.
In order to upgrade to a newer and latest wm6 Rom,it's necessary to first SIM/CID unlock your phone.
Since you say that you have a G3 device,then to read and understand how to unlock a G3 with IPL/SPL 1.xx(AKU 1) device,check the below link:-

First of all you'll have to CID unlock your phone to upgrade to any latest wm6 roms.Read and fully understand the guide and procedure of CID unlocking in the thread which I already gave you in the above post already,you'll find there all the instructions and lokiwiz02b unlocking tool download and all the Roms (Button's Rom 1.05 and T-mobile 2.26) download links,which are required to cid unlock your device.Only after Cid unlock you'll be able to upgrade to any wm6 Rom.
But if you like to have the wm5 rom,which already installed on your device then there's no need to unlock and upgrade to another wm5 rom,as you already got one.but if you want to upgrade to wm6 rom than I'm afraid you'll have to cid unlock the device and upgrade.Once again I'm posting the link for the guide to unlocking:-

Well! as i see your phone has an IPL 1.08 and SPL 2.26,and it's required to downgrade to IPL/SPL 1.xx,therefore as you already have IPL 1.08,I think you shudn't have to flash Button's Rom 1.05 to downgrade to IPL 1.xx, you can download lokiwiz02b and try to cid unlock,it may be successful, but as it shows SPL 2.26,it may not be successful as both IPL/SPL 1.xx are required,but if it doesn't cid unlock with IPL/SPL 2.26 at first attempt,than you'll have to Flash Button's Rom 1.05 to downgrade to both IPL'SPL 1.xx

After it is complete, your device will automatically reboot. The IPL version will be 2.21.0001 and the SPL will be 2.21.olip. If you see this then HardSPL was successfully flashed to your device.

I have a sim unlocked MDA Vario (T-Mobile), but i want install any custom rom to it. I have followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613 but instead lokiwiz i used the aWizard-V1_3beta2.zip. At the first step i downgraded my phone with Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102. I used the u function for the cid unlock after my device is restarted. But i cannot flash any rom into the device. I still get the 302 error. My device is still Cid locked? After the cid unlocking i got IPL 1.xx and SPL 2.xx after i reflashed with the buttopn 1.05 and the t-mobile 2.26 after i get the 302 message when i tried to flash a different brand rom. My original is IPL 2.26 / SPL 2.26 ROM is 2.26
Strange.... I compared the two dumps from two programs aWizard-V1_3beta2 / Lokiwizardb2 /lock_backup.bin before unlocking and cidunlocked.bin after unlocking/ is the same in the two programs. The question is? How possible the patched dump which is the lock_backup.bin is the same as the secondly patched lock_backup? The soft is not really pathcing?

You're not CID unlocked yet. You need to flash and reflash the XDA_MiniS rom or the button ROM until both your IPL and SPL are 1.xx and then CID unlock your phone. Sometime it takes a few time (up to 7 times or more) to get both your IPL and SPL to 1.xx so be patient and keep reflashing until you are successful. Once you're successful, or think you are, download and run Wizard Service tools (google for it) and click on CID actions to verify that you are actually CID unlocked and then flash back to the t-mobile ROM. After that you should be able to flash any ROM you want.

Tried 9 times now to flash the Button Rom to downgrade and I get the IPI to 1.05 (or 1.01) but the SPL is still stuck on 3.08. Any suggestions to download so I can unlock the CID?

If you have downloaded official Rom from it's website and still can't upgrade then use the 'ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID' replace it with the ruu in the official rom,you can get this from the below link.:-

I download thes file: RUU_NoID.exe, then i download an oficial ROM, then i replace the original ROM's RUU with RUU_NoID. operation begin, but after and of this nothing change.

Well,I'll suggest you go for the second option,unlock your phone and upgrade to any latest wm6 custom build Roms.Once you get your phone unlocked,it stays unlocked and gives you the opportunity to keep on upgrading to the latest Roms and features.Read the stickies on unlocking and upgrading and do it correctly,I'm sure you'll have much more benefits and enjoyment.

ok,grrrrrr8,if you have managed to downgrade to ipl/spl 1.xx,its time to SIM/CID unlock the phone,read the 'definitive guide for unlocking by Dr.Puttingham and download the lokiwiz-2b tool and do the method exactly as stated in the guide to Sim/CID unlock your phone,after successful unlock upgrade to ipl/spl 2.xx by downloading and flashing T-mobile 2.26 to the phone,only then you can upgrade to any latest wm6 rom,as its required to have CID unlocked phone and ipl/spl 2.xx for upgrade to wm6.
