Unlock Help - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

I am using the Helmi build. Trying to reflash it due to a problem with vista actually syncing. Helmi is already on the device, but now I cannot hard reset the phone. Power+Record+Reset does not put the phone in bootloader mode. I cannot hard reset the phone at all. Just soft reset. is this because the phone needs to be unlocked again? I cannot seem to find that app on the phone anymore. Is there anywhre i can get this app?

The hard-reset procedure is different for WM2005.
Hold down the camera, voice note and power buttons while resetting with the stylus.

Help - Locked out of my Kaiser

Hi All
I'm a relatively new user here.
I've got a HTC Kaiser and just upgraded from Wm6 to 6.1 and tried restoring a backup done from wm6 using SPB Backup. It performed the restore and reset the device.
Now its stuck at the password screen and my password isn't working.
Is there anyway for me to boot up in Safe Mode and sort this out? Even if i have to restore factory settings or re-install the rom I dont mind, I just need to get into the device.
Please please please someone help me!
Thanks in advance.
u could try a hard reset.
If I'm correct, the hard reset is holding down the two soft keys?
I tried this and it doesnt even perform a hard reset. All it's doing is stuck on the password screen.
Is there another way to hard reset the device?
edit> Sorry I was being a total noob! Didnt know i needed to hold the soft reset as well as the soft keys. AFter a few good searches I found the answer here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_Resets
Thanks guys you're stars!

hard reset is holding down the 2 soft keys while inserting ur stylus into the soft reset hole at the bottom of ur phone. read the kaiser wiki.

Save me from sending my device back (password reset)

I bought a VPA Compact V a couple months ago to replace my Orange M700 and LOVE it.
Unfortunately Last Night I was playing with password features, and created a password by mistake. I've tried to remember what I typed in and was told it was not valid and asked for my password again! There is an option to reset your password but it is grayed out!
So I called up Vodaphone and they walked me through a hard reset (which I could not do for some reason, instead of getting the white screen, I always get the standard vodaphone one)
After a few attempts they told be I'd just have to return it to and be without phone for up to three weeks which is outreagous! I have had NO issues before this time and really need my kaiser for work. I know I am risking a public scalding and accusations of being a thief but I can assure you I am legit (I've got the bills to prove it!), but given my low post count I can see why you may have your doubts.
I don't really want to do a hard reset if I don't have to, but I think that it is my only choice. My old M2000 (blue angel) looses data if the battery is not in, can I do a similar thing with the kasier?
Thanks in advance,
WWWeed.........
does anyone know if WM6 prevents you from hard-resetting while the device is requesting a password?
Did you follow the steps in the wiki to do a hard reset with just the hard keys on the phone?
You should be able to use the "Clear Storage" icon in the settings without having to know the password if I remember well. That triggers a Hard reset too. But I'd just go with the hard key method too, only takes a couple of seconds...
The Kaiser will not lose any of its memory if you remove the battery.
At this point, you have 2 options. The first is to perform a hard reset; the process is documented in the Kaiser Wiki. Your second option is to download the OEM ROM that your phone shipped with, enter bootloader manually (also in the Wiki) and reflash the device. Either way, you will lose any data not on an SD card.

Yes I did, but instead of getting the white screen asking me if I want to clear the storage, I get the standard vodaphone splash screen

I have a problem with this, I cant find the rom installed on this device. I have tryed 3.08.161.0 (Radio 1.64.08.21) UK Vodafone that can found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365058
however the device starts to flash, gets to 1% and gives me an error (error 294: invalid vendor id)
Does WM6 prevent you from performing a hard reset while asking for a password?
Can I install any of the spl's on this site (so I can flash another rom) with just the bootloader? or is there any way of installing roms without using active sync?
Thanks again guys for your help! I assure you it is much appreciated!
I found a rom that works! Unfornatly I dont know much about it. The name of it is v1615_3.28.161.1.zip
I've uploaded it to rapidshare Here
It is an offical untouched rom from vodaphone directly.

You might not be holding the 2 keys long enough. You need to hold them for several seconds after you pressed the reset button.

It can't, the button method does the job before WM6 would get loaded.
But I guess if you've been able to flash you shouldn't need the advice anyway. Still, you should do a hard reset after flashing to be sure all previous and/or incionsistent settings are cleared.
Hold the two soft keys then poke the soft reset button with the stylus while holding the soft keys - hold them until you see a new screen, make sure they are fully pressed. then a while screen will come up and you press the "send" key to go through with the hard reset (reset to factory settings).

Kaiser entering three-colour screen by itself

My Kaiser has entered the three-colour boot screen by itself twice. It happened the first time after I did a soft reset, and I didn't know what to do to solve it, but on attempting a ROM flash, it reset itself back to normal with all my information intact.
Now, it has gone into the bootloader again, without me having done anything at all - I just pulled it out of my pocket to use it, and there was the coloured screen again. This time I've made multiple attempts to clear it, using both the method above (no joy at all, just endless error messages) and MTTY, which won't connect properly at all.
I'm really anxious about this - I can't get the thing to come out of it however hard I try, and I really don't know what to do. I'm worried it's become a brick.

Kaiser sleep function does strange things... (FIXED)

After I did a hard reset, a strange problem appeared.
When I press the power button to put the device in sleep, it does, but after 4-5 seconds it automaticly switches back on.
I tried several things such as soft resetting the device, close all running programs and even another hard reset, but it won't work. I didn't install any programs so far...
More information about my ROM version etc.
Official HTC NLD Rom WM 6.1
ROM Version 3.29.404.0
Radio 1.65.17.56
I hope someone knows something I can try...

i see you have already tried the following but i'm going to write down how i would go about debugging the problem anyway. first, i would try the following steps in the following order to ensure it is not a software issue (it seems you have already eliminated the possibility that this is a software issue):
0. ensure you are using the correct hard SPL for your ROM. if you have never flashed a custom ROM and if you are using the ROM that came with your phone factory installed, you need not worry about this step or step 2 onwards
1. hard reset your phone and check the behavior of the sleep button BEFORE installing ANY of your favorite cabs and software...you have already done this
2. it is recommended to re-download the ROM image and re-flash it to minimize the possibility of a corrupted download or a bad flash
3. it is also recommended to hard reset your phone immediately after flashing the ROM at the point where it says "tap here to begin", i.e. before the screen alignment wizard
4. once again, test the behavior of the sleep button BEFORE installing ANY of your favorite cabs and software
now lets assume it is a hardware issue...here is a nugget of information that might help you. i remember reading a thread here started by a person who described a problem very similar to yours. it involved a "stuck" camera button. you see, the camera button is TWO-stage...and if the half-press stage is "stuck", your phone will never go to sleep properly. search for this thread for more information.
finally, if this is indeed a hardware issue, it seems strange that it appeared only after you did that very first hard reset...but life is full of coincidences !
good luck!
thanks for your suggestions, I will try them and post results.
no success
I tried the things you suggested, but it doesn't work. I also tried the power button when it says "tap your device..." but the device woke up after 4-5 seconds also.
I checked my buttons (especially the camera button, but that one seems to be well... I can feel the two "clicks" and I can take a picture in a normal way)
I'm thinking it might be a ROM problem or something like that... (but my problem is, if I want to go back to the previous official HTC ROM, the 6.0 one, I probably have to use HardSPL, but I don't like that much because of warranty...)
Ok other question... Can I install the Dutch Vodafone ROM on a non-branded HTC device, or could I get VendorID errors or something similar if I want to keep the original SPL?
fixed!
Ok, I fixed it after installing HardSPL 3.29 and flashing the latest WWE ROM...
Now my power button works perfectly!

Device Lock Not Working! XDA IIs (Blue Angel) WM6.1

I just discovered that my XDA IIs (WM6.1) got a Device Lock (i think it's part of SPB Shell) a couple of days ago. Just today it refuses to unlock even if i entered the right password.
I already tried soft reset & hard reset but i still can't get pass the device lock.
I'm an experienced PC user but a complete novice in Windows Mobile!
My unit's now completely useless.
Is there a way to bypass the device lock and/or disable it?
If i need to reflash please tell me how.
Please help.
that is an old issue. cooked roms should not be used with a password lock. it has nothing to do with spb mobile shell, or it would be gone after a hard reset. you permanently locked your device now!
no reset will help you, the only option you have is flash a new rom, well, or re-flash the same rom.
the way to do that is to go to the -=wiki wizzard=- and follow the steps there, don't skip anything, and you'll be fine. and maybe you wouldn't wanna set a password that time.
