Hi,
I have updated my BA mobile (It's a QTEK ) from WM2003 to WM2005.
I had a 5.03.02 english release before installing french pack update.
Everything is ok , just ONE trouble at the moment : When the power saving arives, the mobile can't be turned on after !!
When trying to set the power adjust, it says : power program missing or not signed to run with WM2005.
What is the name of the program, where is he (\windows ??), can someone send me one (even in english ...)
Best Regards
Hence it is Power.exe in the win folder check it shld be there in urs also try by showing up all files even the hidden one's also.
i have found a powerexe 63.0ko i can launch it. But when i go into settings, system , backlight, then click "adjust power settings to conseerve power" it says :
impossible to open file "power" , yo ushould reinstall or restore this file

So perhaps there is an alternative for that u can create a shortcut of that file and paste it to ur programs folder thus u can access it to from there .
I have tested a few HTC Comm Managers(new black theme. Kaiser style) and low and behold non of them have the wifi working right. I cannot enable/disable it from the comm manager. Anybody find a real working one that does this? Even some that were claimed to be "FIXED" didn't work...
Anyone have a dump of the original also? (stock WM6)
I've got the same problem since the upgrade to WM6. Nothing works: soft-hard reset, upgrade... WLAN doesn't works (since comm manager).
me too...any solution mods?
Same problem here... The default WM6 HTC comm manager is working corectly.
anyone have a cab file of the original? incase i want to revert back to it?
You might find the fix here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326655&highlight=wing+10+button
What's wrong with it?
I'd tried to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=48832&d=1188607222
And then, the following message: "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system p ermissions"
...
When I try to do the change in registry, a new surprise: in the registry tree, after CommManager doesn't exist "WLAN", but numbers (0,1,2,3... and in 3 there's WLAN). The change in registry: NOT WORK YET!
I've found the problem (maybe...). In folder "Connections" there's not Wi-Fi icon... what it means?

SAME THING HERE! No permission to do this! I hope this does not result in a hard reset.
OK, I finally got anew one installed. Even though I tried a fresh install after a reboot, I still couldnt get it installed. So, what I did was start commmanager, Bthen stop it in Settings > Memory > Active programs
REALLY A GENIE!!! I'll try it...
It's Ok! Now, I could installed the comm manager, but it doesn't work... What I must fix exactly?
This is exactly what I did:
- Step 1: Copy to the phone and run it.
- Step 2: (Fixing WLAN button malfunction, somehow it doesn’t work by default on Wing): **Thanks for beowulf6’s post for this fix.
Change "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \HTC \CommManager \WLAN= "Windows WLanMgr.exe " "DeviceName" = "{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006} TNETW12345"
the end of this long String is the WLAN-Adaptername of the Device.
just change in this Example "TNETW12345" into "TNETWLN1"
-Step 3: (Fixing Wi-Fi setting launch issue) **Thanks for phatman81’s post for this fix.
Change "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager\WLAN\ Default:"
\Windows\WlanMgr.exe --> \Windows\ctlpnl.exe
After all this... The WLAN icon is always off...
Nobody else has the same problem? It's incredible!! I begin to think that I've done something wrong. It has began after the upgrade to WM6... Now, I can't downgrade to WM5 because I don't have the rom WM5 original... :'(
That CommManager dosen't seem to work well. I had problems with it. I found another one that DID work though.

hi, can you please point me to where you downloaded this??
hello
i have the same problem. wifi card not run.
the problem? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322225
i d´nt know.
anyone a idea? thanks
Do a search. You will find that you have to edit the settings in the registry for the comm manager.
I have this same problem. If anybody has a cab file of the stock tmo com manager, please post it!
Thanks in advance!
You guys...
Go into the registry and find out what the name is for the wireless adapter is. Take that information and change the adapter that is shown in the comm manager.
Thats really all there is to it.
If youre going to screw with the software, youre going to need to blood on your hands. You cant just throw stuff on the phones and expect it to work.
All right...
On my wing
\\\registry\HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN\<DeviceName>
{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\TNETTWLN1
That is the adapter for my phone, might be the same for you.
If youre using the changable comm manager you will have to change the settings for the wlan setup.
\\\registry\HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN\<Default>
\Windows\WrlsMgr.exe
Once again might be different for you.
Im using TouchIT 2.3 my stuff might be different.
I GOT IT

The "Camera" exe file should be there in the Windows Folder. copy that, paste a shortcut in the start menu in the Windows folder itself. that should fix things. (if things havent gone too wrong).

Thanks karthiksk for reply.
I found two files. One HTC_camera and other Camera. Both I copied to start menu BUT still my camera not working. The icons are now present in programs menu but when I click on them nothing happens.
Further help will be appreciated.

Try reflashing the rom...cant help much then.
I know this is gonna sound a little weird, but it happened to me, and this is how u can solve it, the problem its on the hardware of the phone not the software, so reflashing the rom wont do anything, since the problem is inside, firste turn off the phone, then remove the back lit, then lightly press with both of your finger the area surrounding the camera, (like trying to push on the opposite direction of the camera) then turn on your phone and go directly to the photo tab, on the touch flo, and that should do it

no offence Lsagara, but i doubt its a hardware issue, even if it were a hardware issue there is no reason for the files to disappear
@mirchichamu:
1)What happens when you run the "Camera" file from the windows folder itself?
2)You could use M2DC to customize your softkey to access camera. What happens when you do that?
Same problem - File deleted
Hello,
The file you have provided above has been deleted from the Mediafire.
Were you able to locate any solution? Even I am facing the same problem.

Just rooted my new Note using Dr.Ketan's guide. All went perfectly well and quick. Big thanks to him.
Reinstalled same stock ROM( Austria). Strange thing: The Samsung application Torch has disappeared. Not a big deal, I know there are tons of them in Plays store.
I liked that one because it had 3 levels of brightness. Just curious: did it happen to anyone?
i have same problem.
i think you downgraded to older ROM (maybe base on 2.3.5) which not included torch app
I downgrated to older rom to get it rooted, but after I flashed exactly same rom, that i had before rooting.
Look if you still have the app in /system/app..
What kernel do you have? Some said that app does not work with kernels other than CF-Root and IIRC latest franco..
I have pda N7000XXLC1, PHONE N7000XXLB2, CSC N7000XXLB3,
It is exactly as before rooting.
kernel 2.6.35.7-N7000XXLC1-CL1003701
I can't find system folder. Don't see the torch in Titanium backup
Go to Settings > About Phone and see what's under kernel..
Use a file manager with root privileges (ES File Explorer, Root Explorer etc) and navigate to /system/app and look there
If you don't find it, open your backup zip with 7zip (or any ROM zip that you know it has that app) and copy the apk from there to your /system/app folder using one of the file managers mentioned above and set permissions like the other apks and reboot..
I know, that my rom had it and doesn't have it now..
it is not in /system/app. Sorry for the dumb question, but where my backup zip. suppose to be? thanks
Ohh..I assumed you made a backup before flashing..
I just check an old LB1 ROM I have and there is an apk named torchwidget.apk I think it's what you're looking for, check if you already have it but if you don't I'll upload it for you..
no, I didn't do backup because there is the same rom in Doctors list, so i flashed it after rooting. I checked in my apps, i don't have it. If you upload it, it would be great. thanks
I appologize, I do have it in system/apps, but it doesn't run for some reason
Here is the file:
Download HERE
- Move that file to your sd card
- Use any file manager with root privileges
- Copy and paste that file to /system/app
- Long press on it and choose "Permissions" from the menu
- Set the permissions so it will be like the other apks in that folder "rw-r--r--"
- Reboot your phone and test the widget

That's weird..
Even when you try to add the widget to your home screen?
the permissions are same as for other apps. To move it to home screen i need to see it in applications, right? but i don't have it there. Am i missing something?i see it only in file manager
It might be only a widget without actual app..
Go to Settings > Applications > All, do you see it there?
If so then it's only a widget and not a full app, long press on your home screen and see if it appears under the widgets list..

install flash light from market ..
almost same
Hi there!
I want to disable the backlights of the softkeys, without installing an ad-filled apk.
I have installed Slimrom 4.3 from maclaw.pl and the setting to turn backlight off is invisible.
If you go with an rooted file explorer to /sys/class/leds/brightness and switch the value to 0, the backlight immediately turns off.
But if u restart the phone the value is changed everytime to 1 and the Backlight is back on.
So i thought i could write a script, that do this job for me., everytime i start my phome. The script is in the attachments.
Can anyone check if the script is okay? I dont want to brick my phone
And Do you know where the autostart folder for android devices is (like in windows), ive read something about kernel init or something.
And if i want to make a flashable zip out of this script, How to make it? because i dont want everytime i flash an update to work in the system.
Thanks for your time
Go to system settings-buttons-backlight & disable it. If that option it's not present on slim, simply download this. Don't mess with any system file cause this ain't a xperia phone:laugh:
Thanks, but my device is not listed under supported devices in this app and i dont want to keep a 3rd party app running that increases the battery drain and takes ram away. i prefer a little script at system start.
And no the option is not listed in the settings.

Okay i found that folder it is localized in /system/etc/init.d
I copied the file to there and it is workimg, on every restart the buttons keeps off.
But how to make a flashable zip with that file? is it enough to create a zip with the folder system and its contents are only th underfolder and the file?

Don't think so is good script, because when you got a notification than BLN turn on lights again and will be stay it on to second boot.
sorry my very first try.
i will look on my device, if this happens to me too
The only problem i had was with whatsapp, if u get a message there, the light keeps on till restart.
But in settings - notifications - lights in whatsapp u can turn off the notification lights and then the problem is solved. ( standard is white )
