How to make Wm5 more reliable? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Helmi's 2005 rom is really good, i mean seriously it was so awesome i cudnt beleive it for the first few days, they my stupid moron friend touched it and now it freezes when i'm using media player, playing worms, hell it just keeps locking up.
i tried a hard reset to no avail.
Any1 got any ideas on how to make my wm5 more stable?
i have a feeling spb pocket plus is doing this, but then i've always had it on my pda, i cant imagine what else it'd be?
anway i'm fine with registry edits n watev, ne tips you have please, hell even if they're tips to make it faster.

Are you using Helmi's AKU3.2 or 2.6?
Cus AKU 2.6 is said to have better app compatibility, although I have seen Media Player crash, it might be better with 3rd party apps.

its 3.2, thanks for the info but i flashed 2.6 and still same prob, bugger it i'll go to 2003 again lol

3 days expirience with WM5

For does who are intressted in my WM5 experience
I have spent my weekend upgrading my XDA IIs to WM5. With all the comments in this forum and Wicki I was able to do this in a painless and strait forward way. But after 3 days of daily usage I came to the the conclusion that WM5 on my XDA IIs is not ready now for real business use. There are too many bugs which are very disturbing if you are depending on this tool. So I have downgraded to 1.40 and restored my datas with Sprite Backup.
Anyway WM5 looks very good to me and I will be back and install it again when the time is right.
Thank you very much for all the support placed in this forum by you guys!
I've installed it about 2-3 days ago so far, and I'm loving it, I've had a few minor issues but I've managed to work around them. The installation for Windows 2005 was very simple and to the point which I liked, it didn't give me any wonder off questions like "How do I do this part?" it was all done through a nice application. I'm sticking to Windows Mobile 2005. ;-)
FACT: WM5 is maybe ready for freaks, programmers and "wannabe cool guys". But for real business it's definitely NOT ready.
I work in a very hard business and need that thing very often, and it was much better with the WM2003SE, trust me. WM2003SE is a bit faster with my PH20B1 device, but it has definitely less bugs than WM5.
But it's just fair to say, that our WM5 version is just a beta version and for nothing (money). I already have it on my device, I'm not sure to downgrade. May when I have some time.
WM5 is a love hate friendship.
What gets me the most about this is the fact that if you buy a PC with 2000 on it you can LEGALY upgrade to XP or Server 2003.
If you buy the same machine in a GERMAN version you can LEGALY change the language to what ever you want.
We have paid good wonga for a device which was shipped with a licence for the CE. Here we are stuck as we can't change the language nor version without creative means (lets not get into that).
As a communaty I would say that XDA is a great source of information and has found many ways to fix issues that are both Carrier and OS based. Many of us have spent hours fumbelling in the dark to inprove our very expensive toys and passed on this info via the forum and wiki.
We all know that BIG Brother is watching us. We all know the so called gods of Richmond have flexed thier mussels on this site.
What I just fail to understand is the simple fact that in the long run we all want to better our devices and inprove the issues of perfromance and stabilaty. Whether this is from the side of us users or the manufactures.
So Microsoft make our day and leak a newer Build of the WM5 for the BA and I promise you that we will again documnet the issues, problems, incompatabilaties, faults and general messups.
Would a controlled beta testing by a bunch of Geeks that give a damm and use the device daily not be better than some lab rats that just see if the icons are color matched?
Will I go back to 2003, think I will have to and it pisses me off big time. Would I stay with wm5, well if I could charge my device and then answer a incoming call with out haveing to reset the bugger it would help.
Well - no additional comments. I agree with you
Agree
I agree with all of your views. As Saisoku-R i am also using my XDA very heavely every day. I do not have the time to play around bugs. But anyway I think WM5 will be a great OS and I may try to upgarde in some more weeks again. Thanks to the great work of all you guys out there!
Thanks!
I agree with the argument in this thread. I use the XDA for non-business purposes, and am enjoying WM5 and its improved verstality no end. I specially love the contextual soft buttons below, the enhanced office and the improved quality of sound. But I do realize that for serious business users, it would be smarter to stick to 2003SE for the moment, and hope a more stable version of WM5 is released.
I have had the version2 with all appropriate patches installed since it was released. I am fortunate to say the I can hear/answer all incoming calls and all SMS features. I don't care much for MMS and taking pictures on low quality imaging product so I have not tested it to a great extent. The only gripe I have with WM5 is that it is slow. Much slower than I can handle compared to WM2003. Even the overclock patch by Mamaich has it's limitations.
Mamaich and Buzz has done a great service to us and I personally would like to thank them for giving me first hand experience in using WM5. Unfortunately, WM5 on a BA is still in it's infancy and I await the day when they tame it. For now, I am on my way back to 2003 and will weight my options when a mature WM5 or a Linux Stable is available.
Downgrading
i have been using the WM5 for weeks now and it is not stable, i can't use bluetooth, wireless is bad, does not ring when i am getting a call, it might ring during the last ring and stuff, so i will downgrade and stay till bluetooth and stuff is fixed. Thank you guys for making WM5 possible, it looks nice but thats all it is so far, looks. I would love to upgrade again if u guys get it stable, thank you very much.
I really wonder why there are so many different problems that some have, but other haven't got. The WLAN and BT turning itself off when the unit is suspended is common for all. But the problems you mention are rare, and I have none of them. Maybe it comes down to other, third party applications that are installed, or perhaps a bad upgrade?
no real problems
I have to say that I have had no real problems since installing wm5.
I have had no reason to soft reset and I have been using for about a week. I must say that at times it goes a bit slow but if you run the mamaich overclock again it seem to rectify for a day or so.
everything works BT, MMS, EMAIL, pocket msn, spb weather, spb clock, Agile messenger, Fax. Oh and phone with no sound issues at all.
To me it is far more stable than 2003se ever was.
Cheers gang
I have been using WM5 for about 6 days now, and it is much more stable (if slower) than 2003 was for me.
Some things don't work
1. Spb Diary
2. Spd Today Plus
Windows Media Player doesn't play Windows Media streams (32k) that TCMP can play.
Overall I am happy with WM 5, it would be nice if Microsoft could figure out how to write code that executes faster though.
I'm back on WM5... I had serious problems with WM2003SE, it softresets itself every 5-10 min. That's right, WM5 is much more stable, even the splash image doesn't nerve me, because with WM5 I don't have to softreset 1time every day
Where can I get the overclock util from mamaich ? Couldn't find it. Are there any cons concering the overclock util ? My BA is just 3 months old, I don't wanna crack it.
2 things that isn't as good as it was in WM2003SE: WLAN/BT and performance.
Oh, I found another problem: I have the german keyboard fix for the hard keyboard, and when I type emails or whatever, the buttons sometimes "hang". i.e.: I push the "E" button and it types 60 times the "E". When I press backspace, it deletes the whole text till the beginning. :?

That´s part of HTC and not MS. MS only delivers the PB and some extensions for WM5.
So go and ask your carrier for changes, so they can order something at htc.
In WM2003 a lot of problems may have been fixed a long time before you got it, but it was to expensive to create a new version, test it and deliver it...
I had WM5 for about 2 weeks on the BA. I thought it was very stable, just WAY TO SLOW. Loading a program like Resco Explorer normally takes <1 second on WM2003 but about 5 or 6 on WM2005. Now before you think, "well that isn't that big a deal", remember everything is going slow like this. I just could not take it anymore.
That being said, I believe BUZZ, (maybe mamaich as well?) is looking into making a version without persistent memory, (basically going back to using RAM for storage and program) like the XDA2 builds.
If that was made then the speed would no longer be the issue, (though persistence would be lost )
I cannot agree with you, my PocketPlus 2.5 loads very fast, ALL games I've installed on my device are much faster with WM5 than with WM2003SE. Just if you re-activate the BA it is slower than WM2003.
And I was just sick and tired of doing almost all 2 days a softreset with WM2003SE... I don't have this issue with WM2005.
All in all, it's like MDAIIIuser said, it's a love-hate story.
I'm a network consultant and I use my BA entirely for business, which is the biggest reason I was SO happy for the work that Buzz, mamaich, ramram, cdaly1970 and the others on WM5 for the BA. Being as that my email, like my clients, is entirely through Exchange 2003 I really don't use text messaging, MSN and such. My only real problem has been with the BT, which I can live with for a while as I need the other things that do work, like my Pocket PC actually syncing to my Exchange server in the cradle, tasks syncing over the internet, contacts containg photo's, setting importance in outgoing emails, etc. I reset in the morning before I get in the car and maybe once more during the day. Yes it opens emails, Word, etc slower.... but the Outlook email and Contacts are just SO much better!
I've gone back to 2003 twice .... and now I just can't imagine going back. Just my experiences....
Steven
^^ hey, what else could I say... this is exact my situation !!!
hello all I have been using it since the gurus figure it out, and gone trough all the patches and fixes and stuff, after removing the camera stuff, I never had a problem again, and with the overclock app, it works great, its fast, reliable, get all phone calls use it for business everyday its just great, exept for the album, I cant get that to work, other than that its great! thanks to all the geniouses!
win2003 is good still
Well i have used WM5, it is slow, i thought about using hte overclock tool but i would rather not damage my device and be stuck with dead weight. I was really really upset about the bluetooth issue and not being able to use my ear peice, i bought it for a lot of money and i would prefer to use it, cause it is safer and i cannot really hold the MDAIII between my head and shoulder like a regular phone. WM5 looks really good, no doubt, but so far since i went back to 2003SE, it is fast, i have not missed any call and bluetooth is a hell lot more stable. I have happy we have WM5 but i think i will not go back to it till it is well fixed

hey all ! new around here just a quicky.

Hi everyone! great info on this site. been lookin around for a few hours now. Ive had my Qtek9090 for almost a year now. Trying to get a grip on this whole UPGRADING the ROMs idea. which brings me to my question.
I am a firm beliver of the whole "if it aint broke, dont fix it" saying... however i would like to upgrade my PDA for legitament reasons...
I am not interested in going to MOBILE 5. from what i have gathered it has conflicts with TOMTOM NAV 5 (which i use everyday) and other conflicts that convince me otherwise.
However, my PDA does hang randomly causing me to "soft reset" and sometimes when i call people they cannot hear me but i can hear them..
I am just curious as to which upgrades specifically i need to rid of said problems.. (If the upgrades fix other "bugs" that doesnt hurt either.. but i dont want to open the door to more problems..)
Thanks in advance everyone.
P.S. - how do i get my profile to allow me to choose qtek9090 and rom dates from the drop down boxes? i added the correct info to signature box, due to the fact that i could not add it initally.
I have to say that running TomTom5 on WM5 i've had no problems since TomTom released a 5.2 patch.
The reason I went for WM5 was very simular to the problems you are having, random lockups and sometimes if I answered a call I could hear someone but they couldnt hear me. Since going to WM5 I haven't had any problems with these two issues. The only thing that WM5 has that bugs me is the slow keyboard, which a simple overclocking can fix (which Blue Angels are designed to do)
Do you know what ROM you are on at the moment? If you goto 'Start -> Settings -> Device Information' then you can get all the versions, copy them here and I guess peeps will be able to tell you what can be upgraded.
Duh! Signature...
hehe
LOL @ signature! agagag. hmm im actually scared of going to wm5. but huh who knows.. i would really rather avoid it tho... How is that new patch for tomtom? what does it fix? thanks for the quick answer.
radio rom
You might try updating your radio rom to 1.15
Greetings vastloper
Well before the patch I couldn't even install TomTom5!
The trick is to download the update BEFORE trying to install TomTom5. If you unzip the update package (WinRAR does it) then insert your TomTom installation CD without autorun, then in the folder you unziped run the "setup.exe" program. Hay presto it all works.
It's even simpler then I make it sound.
And yeah, Radio Upgrade if nothing else should fix a couple of problems. I think you have to do a hard reset anyway for the radio update, but if your BA keeps locking up I'd make sure you do one.
thanks for the info
thanks for the info guys... yea i did something stupid last night. i tried to do that VGA hack, and it ended up not working and screwing up my file explorer? any ideas on how to remove it? ive been messin with it and i got tot he point where its "GOOD AS IS" and i deleted the files.. whats teh file called so i can look in the FTP downloads for the 1.15 RADIO UPDATE.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Radio_1.15_Upgrade
Not only do you get the file, but full instructions on how to install it.
On the same page is a link to the old versions, so if for somereason you don't like the 1.15 Radio ROM you can just downgrade again. In fact the same goes for WM5.
thanks
hey thanks alot bro. Ill give the upgrade a shot.
I am more interested in vastloper because he has or had the same QTEK 9090 as i did. and im just curious as to how your current ROM is? stable? anything ya dont like about it??
well guys updated to the 1.5 RADIO ROM after reading the whole thread... had some probs with installation but thanks to the INFO on the site i managed to get through it... however i did lose my MP3 sound. and could not find an answer to it so far.. anyone got an idea?
1 person mentioned he had the same problem. but everyone else didnt.
update
did some trouble shooting and narrowed it down to media player i think. If i do a soft reset, and load an MP3 from PDA HD, it works. but when i close media player, all my sound cuts out!! even basic windows tones.
the sound will work while playing the MP3, even when i use the pause button, But its only after i close MEDIA PLAYER all my sound stops working. Any ideas?
found a ref to the exact same problem.

i duno if theres a fix... Thinking about going to Tmobile 1.42 im going to bed ive been reading for 10 hrs straight and its 7 am.

The most stable WM5 ROM

I have been reading many of the forums around here and they say that all the new ROMs are unstable and for "testing" only. I realize we are in uncharted waters here since the BA doesn't really have a WM5 upgrade but I would just like to know... of all the WM5 ROMs out there, which one is the most stable? Nevermind if the ROM is old or outdated or if it has AKU 2.3 or not. I just want a WM5 ROM that has the least amount of bugs.
Ivan probably provided the most stable rom so far, u can search thru the forum or jump onto the ftp and grab his latest rom.
base on Ivan's rom, midget has incorporte the RAMDisk into the rom.
i suggest u grab midget's rom though.

Ivan but WM2003 better
I would vote for Ivan's latest ROM. It was the last WM5 rom I used before I decided to ditch and go back to WM2003 for good. I have to tell you, the speed alone is worth downgrading back to WM2003. Sending text messages with WM5 was an absolute nightmare, bootup was slow, everything was just generally less responsive which frustrates me when I'm in a hurry. I just didn't see the benefits I was expecting, most of my software works better and faster with WM2003 anyway. But my vote goes to Ivan's since it was the most stable ROM I found (out of Tuma's, Logout's and Ivan's) Peace.

this man is correct, all progs and stacks will run faster on 2003se. I've been testing a lot doing some benchmarks and well I believe that the ivan 32mb set or 64mb are the fastest.
Let's see this infamous aku 3.0 though, Windows Mobile 5 is more than possible on this device hardware wise.
when u say ivans rom is it the latest v1.2 with 32 ramdisk
till now i prefer logout
ftp://xda:[email protected]_Updates/Logout/Logout_WM2K5_5.4.03_HN.rar
in term of speed, Logout's rom is the fastest, but from time to time, there are problems with it, the phone function is dead gotta hard reset to fix it, certain errors keep poping up and not to mention sometimes it lose wireless configuration.
In terms of speed? Logout's is ridiculously slow on my sx66 compared to ivan w/ramdisk 1.2 or helmi's aku 2.3 beta.
I can't say anything about the others, as I have only used Helmi.
What can I say? I am impressed.
1) Boots much faster than 2003SE
2) I haven't noticed any slowdown. the machine seems responsive enough for me.
3) GPRS autoconnects when an app needs it. It needed manual connection on 2003SE, and more often than not also needed a reboot to work
4) Things seem to 'just work' less soft resets overall.
Caveats:
1) havent tested wifi
2) havent tested bluetooth
3) havent tested using the phone as a modem, for a computer to browse using GPRS
I am enjoying my WM5 time so far.
Another Runner...
Interestingly I had found both Ivan w/RAMDisk and helmi-c's AKu 2.3 ROM's to be really good... and then after a faux pas in my hacking I broke helmi's so tried Midget_1990's AKU 2.3 v1.1... it has no RAMDisk, however I am sure it could be added...
But it is by far the most stable WM5 ROM I have used to date... it's been installed since Friday (Ithink, maybe Thursday?) I've had no freezez, no hangs, Wifi workds, MSN works, GPRS works... the speed is up there with the best of them, I've installed all sorts on it, including TomTom 5.21, and GPStoGoogleEarth and they both work faster than on a stock WM2003SE build... SPB Diary, Time Weather and Backup run smoothly, Eten Pack installs with no issues as does the Eten Dialler and various other bits 'n' bobs... more than happy, and I think I'll stick with it until he either releaases a new 2.3 (or even 3.0) version or I can find the time to build my own!!
Midget 1.2 is on it's way, if i can get it finished then tonight, if not next weekend when i'm back from work. It will be aku 2.3 as aku 3 is really not worth bothering with atm.

I know what you mean about AKU 3.0... I can't even get the display right... seems to be running at the wrong display mode (like win98 at 8bit!!), but I am impressed with the initial spped of the ROM, once I can get the display fixed I think I'll play with it for a bit and see what I can get to work with it...
Will your 1.2 have a RAMDisk?

display works fine, it's just the fact that ONLY the core os works (applications need to be singed) and after about a day the whole thing becomes unstable.

In regards to that, your 1.1 ROM clicks a lot on WMP (works okay on TCPMP though) and even with the reg entry for the Audio Priority I can't get rid of it, is there anything other than the WaveDev Priority Reg Entry I could try?
As for the display thing in AKU3.0... was it okay for you out of the box (just using the dev tools from the site)? Or did you have to work on anything, I've flashed it twice now and have had no luck... off to try a third time

MDA about to be fish food

Wondering if someone could assist me in finding a good rom that would fit my needs. I have been using a wm6 rom that was cooked about 5 months ago. Unfortantly it has started to do some wierd things. Lately my SD card hasnt worked. My headset only works when i listen to music and now sometimes i have to take out the battery to end a call. Im using this on the At&t ,formally cingular, network. I would like a rom that has the mms and media net already configured since i have had nothing but problems trying to get this to work when i have to do it manually. I have installed a vanilla wm6 rom and having some problems. Seems a little sluggish and also my mms is not working. I dont need anything fancy just something that is reliable. Im sorry for a noob post but im about to throw this phone into the pond and just suck it up and get a 8525.

Take note that following comment expresses personal opinion and others may differ...
The best ROM i've tested so far is TNT5.0 which is made by its right. It's stable and SO, and i mean SO SO, fast that you don't need to overclock to have apps open immediately amongst other. I think he's now releasing new ROMs (1437 based) which must be an improvement.
But the best you can do is go to WM6 section and get amazed with the amount of good ROMs being released there.
cheers

well after my little whinning session lastnight, i found a wm5 rom that looks just like wm6. Install went fine so far. I think most of my problems with this phone is the hardware is slowing going out. my headphones still dont work for making calls but work fine with the media player. Makes no since but ok whatever. Also the SD port has always been tricky for me. But so far this rom rocks. Seems to be all the nice screens of wm6 just with a wm5 base. Also the best part was the network wizard. Man that util is a life saver. Did all my media net and mms configs for me. Works like a charm. Did some customizing and so far its working good. Im going to be actually taking apart the phone in the next couple days to see if there is something that can be done about the headphones thing. I might just have to suck it up and get a BT headset. Anyways thanks for the input. I have downloaded tnt5 just in case this rom doesnt fit my needs.

HTC ROM 6.1 : the Kaiser freezes all the time !!!

Hello again, I have this big problem with my Kaiser :
since I installed the last HTC 6.1 ROM update, my device randomly freezes for 10-20 seconds.
I also noticed that my devices sometimes slow down ...
Does anyone else have this problem ?
The solution : Downgrade to WM6 !
I think I've found where the problem is :
since I stopped using "Quick Menu", the Kaiser does not freeze anymore ...
That means this is another usefull application I will have to stop using with the HTC 6.1 ROM !!!
Sorry but I don't know what is Quick menu...

If you don't know it, that means you didn't install it on your Kaiser. So your freeze problems were not coming from this application. Sorry ...
The biggest bug i've been with wm6.1 : my kaiser soft reset alone all the time ! Maybe they're drunk when they're built this rom lol ! They should have write : THE MAGIC FUNNY WM6.1 RELEASE WITH GHOST TOUCH !
I disabled Weather tab and contacts tab with HTC home customizer. It seems to work well now. I will see if problem has really gone. Thank you for your help Dizzy. You gave a direction to my searchs
You're welcome ... But I use HTC home mainly for its contact and weather application ... So it's not a solution for me.
I noticed that orange france users had problems. Perhaps it is linked with our SIM CARD...
do you really need to post two threads on this?
I thought about using HTC's rom, but instead, i used dutty's lite rom, and built it up myself with what i wanted. Its a hell of a,lot faster, i wouldnt touch another oem htc rom ever again, they are full of rubbish, and slow as my old wizard
Finally I discovered that the problem didn't come from "Quick Menu", but from "HTC home" !!!!!
HTC home does slown down my Kaiser and is responsible for randoms freezes of it !
If I disable "HTC home" on the today setup screen, then everything is faster (start menu display ...).
I re-installed Quick-menu and now my Kaiser is working fine.
I will have to replace HTC home by a clone application ...
I haven't had any issues with my Kaiser freezing with the 3.28.405.0 WWE ROM, but then I haven't used ROM that was oficially released by HTC. Instead I've been using the one that was leaked out a couple of days before the official release.
Is it possible that the official ROM image is corrupted in some way? I've noticed this post over in the Kaiser ROM Development forum, which was posted today:

Called HTC today.
I'm not the only one having trouble with 6.1. They said in the next two days there will be a "new" version available.
The file we could download now is corrupt and they will upload a non corrupt version. Supposedly the file was corrupt by uploading to ftp server
I think they will release a patched version.

I've installed the official (English) rom I got from someone in the UK (there is none for TYTN II from Hong Kong being used in the USA as of yet ) and loved the idea that all I had to do is just install ( No hard SPL ) and everything seems fine. I have a lot of apps. installed and everything is fine.
I upgraded to the leaked ROM and have had nothing but Freezing problems !!
I turned off HTC home and this seemed to do the job...for about 12 hours and then wouldnt you know it, its slow again.
I did a hard reset and turned everything off, used Kaiser tweaks to change the cache options and its still not right.
I feel badly let down by this product. I upgraded from a blackberry 8800 which ran like a dream, no problems. I've always been alittle sceptical about Windows Mobile Products. I've owned many PDAs in the past and have always felt that they were always compromised. My Dell Axim X51v was a good PDA but too bulky to carry around. I've always been someone who wasnt bothered by Windows Mobile Devices because of their windows hang ups. Seems I was proved right, though I know this isnt necessarily a Windows thing, more likely a HTC thing....it still doesnt help !
I needed a product that offered, office apps, with internet and the ability to FTP easily at high speeds either over WiFi or 3g. The Vario III had the lot including imense flexability which made me give up my Blackberry (which was a big thing, trust me as I adored my blackberry,,,it was just alittle limited).
After having purchased HTC's almost flagship model I've feel totally let down, they knowingly shipped a product that was flawed and then released a dodgy fix that affectively made the device worse (for some of us!). Freezing all the time. When it wasnt freezing it was a pleasure to use...but seriously, i'm 5 weeks into using it and I'm absolutely pee'd off. I seem to be constantly looking for fixes all the time !! my wife thinks I've become bloody addicted to it, she wont listen when i tell her I'm trying to fix it. it always seems to be in my hand !! (the kaiser that is )
That blackberry of mine is going to be taken out of the box and this paper weight will be used as just that.
gutted man
Ste
You need to remove the HardSPL application from your Kaiser in order to stop the freezes ... Take a look at this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394783
It works ... Guaranteed !
Yes, the HardSPL is your problem, not HTC.
I tried the official htc e-club 6.1 and had lots of freezing issues. It would just freez for 20 seconds or so then start working again. Drove me crazy. I off-loaded it and re-loaded dutty's 6.1 hybrid and am very happy with it. Very stable, no more freezes either. I also reloaded mobile shell and found it to work much better than with the old 6.0. The memory issues, leaks etc. I had with shell on 6.0 seem to have become almost non-existant with this rom. And did I say batt life is heaven . I'm stickin' with what works for now.
I have the problem that Activesync is automatically turned on when I start the phone and it makes alot of problems but when I turn it off it usually solves it - anyone know how to fix this?

I have the e-club 6.1 and am experiencing the same freezes. Really annoying. I think there is a pattern that when I turn off the phone, the freezes go away.

I had a similar issue where Activesync would start running on my phone every so many minutes, when looking in the task manager it would be running. I fixed that by running task manager v2.8 from Fdcsoft you can download it from here http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm with that go to notification and disable replog.exe (AppRunAfterTimeChange). This does not affect active sync working when connecting to a pc or with push email.
