My tilt's EDGE and 3G connection automatically turn on, sometimes when i wake up, it's on for 9 hours, why is that? and i can't find a way to fix it. And when i put the tilt away for a few min, the screen will automatically shut down to save on energy, and i will have to press the POWER button once to have the screen back up. Can we change this setting? it is not very handy. thanks for the help. i am a noob.

I had the same problem,
Disabled push email.
Problem went away.
I have a similar problem. Is there a way to see what application is opening the data connection. I had email set to download once a day, so it was not my email. Can't think what else it may be...
I'm maybe just being stupid - but I can't get my diamond to vibrate when I get a text. I think I've set it correct, but its not working.
Using TouchFlo - I go into "Settings", then "Sound".
I press "Advanced", and then choose the "Notifications" tab.
From the "Event" drop down list I select "Messaging: new Text Message"
Then I tick the "Vibrate" box.
Is there something else I need to do?!
BTW - my ROM version is 1.37 if thats relevant
If you mean that your phone should 'wake up' and vibrate when you receive an SMS, then have a look at the 3rd point from the link below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398265
If it won't vibrate at all, and only will make a sound I don't know the answer. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately it won't vibrate at all on receiving an SMS.
Even if the phone is awake and I get a message it does nothing apart from a little green 1 appears on the messaging icon - and the directional pad light flashes.
The other thing I've noticed when testing this is that the phone takes about 5 seconds to actually start 'ringing' when getting a call!

Yep ive noticed that on mine as well...im running 1.37 rom uk spec diamond and it takes a good few seconds before my phone will ring when i have an incoming call. Annoying but liveable i guess..also my phone wont vibrate either when receiving a text as well...just get the alert and notification.

Mmm, bummer... Just tested it with my phone. I previously used the 'wake on SMS' edit, and now selected 'vibrate' and unchecked the sound alert for Messaging: New text message. It worked like a charm.

Same here, even with my previous HTC Wizard. I guess it has to do with WM devices in general!?
Hmmm... now I've just realised that my phone doesnt chime or anything when I get a text - despite me having a tone set.
I tried a soft reset - but this did nothing. I dont really want to try a hard reset as I will lose all my proggies etc.
I've maybe give the tweak above a try!
I've tried the above tweak, but I'm still having no success.
I'm getting absolutely no alert at all when i get a text message. With the tweak, the phone comes out of standby and the screen displays the message - but it won't chime or vibrate at all.
Any ideas?
A phone that won't alert me of a text is no use as most of my communication is through texting!
Finally resorted to a hard reset - which solved the problem.
Spent the last few hours reinstalling everything!!
Now time to make a sprite backup whilst I have everything sorted!
Well, I thought I fixed it with a ROM update but alas...
the problem goes like this, when I'm out of cellular reception area the phone shuts down and the only way to turn it back up is to remove and put back the battery.
I suspect this is some sort of strange power saving setting gone wrong.
Any idea on what can I do about it? Registry settings or something?
From about week onwards i am getting this problem.power button is nt workn as previous.Phone automatically get the signal of long press power button.it means automatically it asks "power will be turned off,and you may lose data if...".and also when i press power button it doesnt goes to standby mode.when i long press the power button sometimes it doesnt switch off..As i think the power button dnt work as normal or may it seems that power button keep pressed internally
This was my problem.i went to HTC agent and they said the motherboard has a issue.it may be caused to water drop.and they told it cant be repaired and i shoold replace the motherborad and the MB will cost like hell..
Now i need help of ur guys.
1.) Is there any software to disable the power on/off function?
2.) Or is there any method to automatically press "no" of power off msg when it appears.
Sorry for my bad English ..pls help me..
you have already started a thread regarding your power button HERE ...bad net manners, contact the mods and ask them to close one...
Anyways, from your post, you cannot go into standby mode because of the faulty power button...
So here's what you do, download Pocket Device Power Manager OR psShutXP and install on the mobile...
With this, you will have the standby option available without having to press the power button...
Hope that helps...
Thnx dude.. Sorry for opening a new thread.
Dude still i have a problem..it is 4n automatically prompts the shutdown msg ( power will be turned off...Yes/no) when i am using the phone.i have to press no to use the 4n when it appears.this is a headache to me..is there anyway to diisable this msg or to automatically get press "no" when it appears.
why not try and map the Power button, Long_Power.lnk to another application??
The mapping process is explained HERE ...I think that will help stop that "power will be turned off...Yes/no" message...
Just my 2C's, i am really not sure about this though...
Thnx Dude..it seems to be working..but i need a another small help regarding this..tell me a some kind of an app dat should be mapped to this long power key.the app should not load any true application.it should be just a shortcut.Otherwise behalf of the Power off msg that applicaion will open..it will be another problem. If u can provide me a shortcut which do not actually open any application. i am noob for this..thats y i am asking everything.thnx in advance

hey everyone, this is really frustrating having to press the power button when receiving a new text. Before i did a hard reset this worked perfectly so idunno whats going on with my phone.
so if anyone has had the same problem, feedback would be greatly appreciated. thank you
Launch Advanced Config, then go to Messaging|Wake up on new SMS and switch it to Enabled.
