Rom problem help - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

after installing new rom
RUU_RIsidoro_2.26.10.2_WWE+CF2SP1_G3.exe
rom automatically is customazing. after restart there are no new themes, programs, ringtones etc. WHY?

After installing new molski rom with themes RUU_Molski.Biz_AKU2.3-226102_22610105_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2.exe, after restar there are no addons too :/

Risidoro's ROM's customizations are there all right... but you will have to go and change it yourself...
Molski's ROM is a *almost* clean... what addons are you talking about?

Read the first post in the thread where you got the rom
Molski did a very good job of detailing what was in his rom and where it was and how to install the stuff from the ext rom. All the information you should need is in that first post.
Is there something specific that you are looking for that is listed in his post that you can't find?

Every time I've seen that happen it been due to the device not being CID unlocked...

Going back to an older ROM

Okay I am a newbie and I installed the Mr Clean rom which is fine but how would I install the previous rom I had witch was the one from the HTC website? Basically all I am tring to do is change my splash screen and I have no idea how but I want the old rom but it doesn't seem to want to let me roll it back.
OK newbie, try searching the forum for your solutions first - you will be surprised what you might find. This took me less than a minute to locate.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=52768
Basicly Faria has put together a bunch of different splash screens which will install in exactly the same fashion as a new ROM would. As it only loads a new slpash screen you will not lose any data. You will also be able to keep the Mr. Clean ROM but have a different splash screen. There are at least 2 HTC splashes listed and the one that I had a quick look at has a preview so you can see which one you prefare before you do the install.
Enjoy...
But is it possible to go back to an older/different rom once you install Mr Clean rom? I currently have a K-jam running the lattest rom, and was thinking about trying Mr Clean rom just to see how it behaves. The only think stopping me is what if I don't like it! Would it be possible to revert back to my current rom?
Can't see any reason why it shouldn't work. As far as I know none of the home cooked ROMs available on the forum have a function that does a compare between the existing and intended ROM versions and prevents any downgrading.
As to whether you will like the newer version, it is hard to see why you wouldn't. Mr Clean's version is spot on if you want the latest OS, the best Radio ROM and a very light extended ROM and with you changing your splash screen to one you like you should be sorted. All you need is to install whatever cab files you need for performance tweaks or network settings.

Well it doesn't! :S Once you use Mr Clean rom you can not go back to the official Kjam rom! My only problem with the Mr Clean rom is that there is somewhat increased consumption compared to the rom I had before! Oh well! I guess I'll just have to get used to it!

Why can't you go back? I've run every ROM sumitter has released. Over the weekend I installed the Mr. Clean ROM . Put on the PDA Mobiz version yesterday. I just went back to the original Cingular 1.08 successfully this morning to double-check this response. IPL, SPL, GSM and OS reflecting changes each time. Now I'm going "back" to sumitter's test2. If you unlocked you SID/sim initially you shouldn't have any problems regarding this. faria documented the procedure back in April.
(yes I love flashing my phone)
I can't believe that the Kjam is that different.....

First you need to download and install Button's 1.05 at ftp://xda:[email protected]__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe . Make sure to allow the extended ROM's to execute. All problems solved as Pinhead said.

AKU3.2 ROM for G3 Devices - Clean

Managed to create a "clean" Wizard ROM for my G3 device, nothing fancy, just a few adjustments and enhancements.
The description is as follows:
1. Operating System: 5.1.195 (Build 15605.3.2.0)
- Based on the AKU3.2 ROM I downloaded from ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/AKU3.2/AKU3.2-1.0RC1.rar - THis is not the ROM I created, it is the core OS I used for my ROM.
2. Radio: 2.47.11
- Based on the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281141&highlight=Wizard+Radio+2.47 (Thanks to CIDRIVER for posting it)
3. Extended ROM: 2.26.10.105 Customized with the following contents:
- AutoRun.exe - Program to auto-install Extended ROM contents upon hard reset
- Config.txt - Configuration file which tells AutoRun.exe what to install
- Cert_Disable.cab - Disables certification checking - No longer required according to MOLSKI
- UXC_WWE_20051020.cab - From T-Mobile ROM v2.26 which installs additional T-Mobile Sounds and ring-tones
- MP-Shorcut-MMS1-Voice-CV-TMUS-060404.CAB - From T-Mobile ROM v2.26 installs MMS folder In "Inbox" under Messaging
- PP_ExtVersion.CAB - Configures the Extended ROM version
- HTC_Customizatios.cab - Hybrid customizations Based on MOLSKI's "Performance Registry Tweaks" and "Customizations Tweeks" that can be found at MOLSKI's site http://www.molski.biz
- Intent_MIDlet_Manager.cab - Installs the Java Midlet application
- MagicButton_2.0.cab - Installs the Magic Button application
- OMAPClock.cab - Custom OMAP Clock installer I created which installs OMAPClock, creates an Icon under "Programs" and installs an auto-launch shortcut in startup that sets the clock speed to 240Mhz
The ROM is made with the O2 Splash screen (more of a personal preference), and seems to be running pretty well, and faster in fact.
My thanks to MOLSKI, FARIA and the other gurus (I apologize if I did not mention everyone who had a hand in providing the resources I used) on the forum for posting instructions, files, and other resources, with which I was able to create the ROM.
Because of numerous requests, I have uploaded it to the xda-developers ftp site, for those who are interested in trying the ROM you can download it from:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Wizard/Roms/AKU3.2_Clean_ZeroXtreme.zip
For a brief description of my device that it was applied to, it is an I-Mate K-JAM (WIZA200) G3 device that was CID unlocked, and had the stock T-Mobile 2.26 (IPL/SPL 2.26) ROM installed before flashing to this ROM. The flashing process pauses for a couple of minutes at some points but finishes to completion without any errors, so please be patient.
NOTE: The battery drains fast with this ROM (observation during actual usage)
Standard disclaimer applies, I am not responsible for anything that should happen to the devices of people who try out the ROM, use it at your own risk.
Are you sure you included the correct nk.nbf?
I installed it (from Molski 2.3-30mb) and it put in the old cingular rom (/w empty extrom, old cingular splash screen, and NOT AKU3.2).

I dont get the question, what do you mean by the correct nk.nbf?
Well basically, I tried ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/AKU3.2/AKU3.2-1.0RC1.rar but when i go to About it says, OS 5.1.70 (Build 14410.1.1.3)...which isn't making much sense considering I flashed the rom from a higher os version.
I guess what I'm asking is, are you sure that file contains the correct os?
Thanks so much
Oh, thanks for clarifying, and the answer is yes, it is AKU3.2. The version number I put down in the first post was actually read from the device itself.

Well.... being as that you're downloading a file dated 9-16-2006 I wouldn't expect to see anything new ...
All new files go to the UPLOADS directory on the ftp and then the mod's move them to their final resting place.
Doesn't look like ZeroXtreme has posted the ROM but is relaying what's in it.
(unless I'm missing something.....)
Dr Puttingham: Yeah, thats exactly the case.
ZeroXtreme: Excellent compilation. Thanks a lot

There is no new ROM posted as I mentioned right above this...
That link IS good, it just doesn't have the username and password ...
(read the Wiki...)
Now ... if you REALLY want to download a ROM dated 9-12-2006 then this is the full URL with the username and password... Why, I dunno....

I would just like to clarify further, the link posted above in the first post is not the ROM I made, it is partially based on that ROM, I was just referencing it.

perhaps you should edit your original post and put the link to your ROM as the ftp site can be confusing to many
Hi
nice collection but I failed to find the link for download of your clean ROM.
Pls provide

I apologize for the confusion, the links I posted are as reference for the components I used, I did not post the ROM I created.

you dont need the cert desable in the 3.2 since the os has the security allredy desabled by default.

I can't find your rom on the ftp server what is the name? or better include a link.

Good to hear you've been successful, ZeroXtreme - not an easy task (at least for most). How has the stability been for you? Have you noticed any of the issues that some have mentioned with Faria's 3.2 ROM? If it is stable, hopefully you'll release this ROM to the rest of us - that is, if Molski and Faria have no problem with it, of course, since you're using some of their handywork. Good to see other chef's in the kitchen (sorry if I haven't seen your work before).

Thanks for the support, with regards to the stability, it seems to be working faster the the AKU2 ROMs, however I am still in the process of determining the kinks in it. There are however incompatibilities I have already noticed, like SPB PcketPlus will not even install, and the custom vCard plugin I use to send and receive vCards via SMS instead of MMS conflicts with the SMS engine in the AKU3.2 ROM.
Sorry, stopped cooking ROMs for the longest time, last time I made ROMs was for the Himalaya.

Corrupt extended rom

I have a g3 wizard (UK vario) that has farias excellent wm6 rom on it (great work there)
I have an ipl and spl of 2.26 and have flashed my roms using the buttons>carrier rom method everytime.
Since using the loving wife extended rom update the first time everything was running fine. My memory card corrupted and I decided to reflash everything.
After trying to unlock my extended memory this time the network folder has become corrupted and will not let me deleete it.
Am I missing something here. I have tried to find out about the extended rom feature but cannot find much in the forum. Is there a way of flashing JUST the extended rom or will I have to flash the whole lot again
Sorry if I am asking a simple question with the answers right in front of my nose.
Thanks for all the hard work and hopefully one day I will be able to contribute myself.

Yes, you can flash just the extended ROM. Search for the blank extended ROM in this forum. You can also create a blank one using the guide in Molski's site.
k cheers. I will have a go and keep you posted
Bingo! Thanks. If I had thought about it hard I would have come to that solution. I used the rom cooker the first ever time I flashed my phone, the mr clean injected into t-mobile rom method. I don't think I would have had the correct settings though.
I just installed molski's extended rom and will leave it at that
Just learnt a new skill so i think after a little reading I may make my own extended rom......
Something new to play with lol

Some questions

Hi!
After installing the HTC Toupad on my Kaiser, I have experienced big problems. Letters on the Keyboard (QWASYX) didn't work and even the onscreen keyboard didn't recognized these letters. So I decided to uninstall the application. But now I have other problems with my Kaiser and so I decided to Hardreset my device. But before I do this, I want to upgrade my Kaiser to WM6.1 and update it to the newest ROM/Radio.
Now I have some questions relating to that.
As a result that I am a Super Moderator in another forum I know that it is bugging if people don't read the Wiki/FAQs. I have read them, but I don't understand many things :-|
I have handled it to unlock my device, but when I was reading about updating to WM6.1, I saw only things like: "... works only with 6.1", update this, update that, and I don't know in which order.
First of all: Could anyone explain me how to update my Kaiser to WM6.1 and the newest Radio?
Secondly: What is this Duty FW? Is it a modified Rom with added apps?
Finally: I have a normal Kaiser. Not a Vario III, AT&T or something like that. Just the austrian version of the Kaiser with no brandings and so it would be good to have a Firmware without any brandings.
Thx in advance.
BTW:
ROM version: 1.56.405.5
Radio version: 1.27.12.11
Oh, I have forgotten one thing: Is it possible to change the LED blinking in the Phone Mode? To change it from green to blue?
The letter problem you were having was a simple fix with a cab that can be found all across this forum. All the ROM's can be found in the ROM Development forum and as far as what has been changed, modified, added, programs list, can all be found in the FIRST or SECOND post of each of the ROM's. So you will just have to read through them and find one that suits you best as they all have something different. Most of the radio's that can only be used on 6.1 ROM's will say "Will only work on 6.1 ROM's". And I would like to add even though you don't have at&t DON'T FLASH THE 1.65.17.10 RADIO.

You need to make sure before you flash a rom on to your kaiser that you flash hardspl - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334679, and than after successfully installing that you can flash the rom of your choice. Please read the first sticky thread under the kiaser rom development form - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369282; it has all the info you need pretaining to everything involved when it comes to flashing your kaiser. I strongly recommend you go through it and read the posts it points to that are relevant to flashing.
Once you have done that it is pretty simple process; just do yourself the huge favor and don't flash until you have flashed hardspl or you will brick your phone.
If its still a mystery I would start here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser#ROMx20.Upgrading
No pun intended.
@thesire
I have already installed HardSPL. Otherwise I couldn't have unlocked my device with this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361039
I have used just the Sim Unlocker Method. Not the Kaiser SIM/CID Unlocker & Changer
That's the reason, why my mobile phone is now with an english language
Just one important question: Do I have to change my current radio for the new Duty Release?
@KDKobes
Why shouldn't I flash THE 1.65.17.10 RADIO?
Some ROM's come with radio's some don't. Most of Dutty's ROM's come with radio's, but if you want to keep your radio then I would suggest finding a ROM without a radio in it or making sure yours is compatible with the WM 6.1 and reflash it back. The 1.65.17.10 radio will lock your phone to that radio only and you will not be able to change it until somebody can fix it. Alot of people are stuck with that radio now and can't change.

Where todoanload Kitchen & Tutorial?

Since two days I'm finally a custom-ROM-user. I've tried different 6.5er and 6.1er ROMs...but nothing fit to my needs. So I decided starting to cook my own ROM...but I couldn't find a working doanload for kitchen nor a tutorial for creating ROMs. Hope, anybody could help me
I'm looking for one too :/
For a long time.
I'm interested on this too.
Lechux has shared his kitchen but i don't know how to use it. What tutorial i should read??
You don't have to learn cooking to modify & recompile any ROM if you have a working kitchen made by any chef. Special knowledge is required if you want to deeply understand how everything works, but you'll get it with cooking experience.
So the advice is to go to chef central and read stickies.
Thanks mate!
I've only been searching the x1-board. I'm going to read the stickies right now

Not only read, but also try to build rom using kitchen you have. Practice is the best for education (for example, I've made my first ROM after 2 days of reading & investigating)
I gave it a shoot. But there are a lot of things I couldn't find information about.
Cleaning my stock ROM with osKitchen Zero 1.33.5 was easy. But I couldn't built-in different CABs I'd like to have installed after hard-reset.
And I even don't know how/what to change to get a well prepared start-menu after installing my new ROM.
So do you have some links which explain that stuff to me?
I want:
-Different CABs being installed after installing ROM
-do some Registry-Changes & Change startmenu
good to hear, keep trying!

Learn how to make EXT packages, then you will be able to convert cabs to EXTs and include this new package into your rom. Also all registry changes are usually made in EXT packages. Good luck!
