Hi Everyone,
I have a nice shiny orange spv m700. Unfortuantly, in Orange's wisdom they supply a ROM which does not have any form of thumb based text entry.
In order not to void my warranty I am not going to flash the ROM. Especially as I have tomtom 6 working perfectly and removed the orange garbage from the today screen.
However I am going mad withouth t9 text entry! I have downloaded and installed phonepad english, phonepad international, tengothumb and none of them work! They install fine but not come up when you select them. Ive tried setting them to default text entry but to no avail. I have installed them on the device not the memory card and there is lots of memory spare.
Can someone please help me has anyone found the trick? I have 7 days to return the phone but until i try phonepad i dont know whether i want to keep it (never used a phone withouth keyboard before).
Thanks in advance

me too
i have been asking about this too the last day or so. the dopod rom has it built in but i am worried that once i have put the dopod rom on then i cant go back to the orange one if i dont want to keep the phone.
No one seems to be replying about dumping my original orange rom so at the mo we are a bit stuffed.

Try install the attached cab, then goto program>G4 SIP Startup select phonepad as default SIP, then softreset. However TengoThumb would not work for Trinity for some reason.

Install phonepad, then G4 SIP tweak, then select phonepad as startup SIP in G4 SIP Tweak, soft-reset. It works for me.

How did you get it to work?
Cheers the G4 does the trick
thank you for the solution!! worked first time for me, installed the tweak then phone pad english and soft resetted. so glad to have phonepad back!
OK I got the G4 Sip program installed but the phonepad never works - just pops up the standard keyboard. I have a Orange M700 - any suggestions? Thanks
Uninstall both then install sip change, reinstall phone pad select phone pad as default and it should work...
Or if all else fails purchase SK tools as this always works and has many useful extra features.
Thanks for all the useful info
I got mine working on my SPV M700 by:
1) Uninstall SIP Change & Phone Pad & G4 SIP Tweak (If you have any of them installed already)
2) Copy G4 SIP Tweak CAB to PPC and install
3) Soft Reset
4) Copy Phone Pad CAB to PPC and install
5) Soft Reset
6) Copy SIP Change CAB to PPC and install
7) Soft Reset
8) Start SIP Change (From Start Menu - Programs) and select Phone Pad and make sure delay is set to 10
9) Soft Reset
This is the only way I have managed to get mine working, and I dare not reset the device again incase it fails lol
Yet another hapless convert to smartphone

Hi, hope this thread isn't dead just yet...as a newbie here and a recent convert to the world of the touch screen... I've had a good search around the web for a thumb entry system (have to admit thought is was a standard feature on smartphones cos I'd seen it working on an O2 XDAmini. So was more than a little dissappointed to find it wasn't on the M700 (after my 7 day's were up).
I've tried installing tengo thumb with the same limited success as a previous contributor, lots of resets I assume a soft reset is button on the bottom you prod with the stylus?
I've tried various combinations of loading G4 SIP Tweak, and Phone Pad cab, and have the 'Phone Pad appears in list but doesn't do anything' problem...
I noticed in your post you mentioned uninstalling 'SIP Change' that's some I've not downloaded separately, got the G4 SIP tweak and the phone pad.
Also there appears to be two places (3 including the input icon in settings) where you can select Phone Pad there's 'G4 SIP Hide' in the sytem menu where it say's don't choose the wrong SIP here as its likely to **** everything up. And then there's the 'G4 Sip Startup changer' in my programs directory. Are either of these the 'G4 SIP Tweak' utility.
So i'll give it another go but wondered if I've
1. got the right cab's, tweaks and whistles
2. got my SIP application confused
3. just plain confused
Any help greating appreciated.
Also must be trying too hard with the stylus as I'm on no. 2 already!
Thanks for listening
Awesome, this has been plaguing me for a long time, whatever i did i could not get any keyboard except the standard ones to stick and be useable, fine with a stylus, no good for one handed operation.
Now it all works and like the rest its a case of remove anything resembling SIP management and alternate SIPs and then install G4 Tweak and then Phone Pad, select PhonePad in the G4 interface and soft reset. Bingo a working phone pad.

I was in a similar position to you. I managed to get mine working eventually - I found that I didn't need Sip Change. I just installed SIP Tweak, then Phone Pad. I think perhaps the key thing is to soft reset immediately after selecting Phone Pad on Tweak. Once I'd done that it finally worked, and has continued to work even after when I've shut down normally.
Is it possible to have touch-flo working on our wm6 himalaya
the other devices apart from touch
dont seem to be able to get it working as it does on touch
so i would not count on it
but few components of touch flo seems work.
I think at first we need fix gprs trouble.
yeah but from what i understand they need to use some hardware button to activate some of the flo
which the touch people dont
what i'm intresting in is if wm6 will give better bluetooth a2dp for himalaya
doubt it though :S
sorry for offtop
wm6 give at least Bluetooth PAN over MS drivers.

Yes i also confirm this. It isnt working.. my device is now freezed on boot screen.. hard resetting it...
from what i've picked up in forums for trinity and hermes then
the touch flo require a special screen dll
all devices have that dll but the touchs is different
and they all seem spc to the device so one cant just move the dll from touch to another device
well that is to say one cant move the dll from touch to another device yet!
When you search Youtube for Touchflo, you get a whole bunch of clips from all kinds of HTC devices running Touchflo quite well. Some do use buttons (who cares?) with touch screen finger touch mode, others seem not to touch any hardware buttons at all. In all cases they're able to access anything on screen without ever grabbing a stylus.
Although I've not yet been able to taste this kinda success on my Hima, it gives me good hope that soon enough it'll be available to us as well.
In HELMI_C addon2 is touchflo version which i can install (and mustn´t hard resert). But i can´t run it - some problem with certificate.

I hope u don't mind, I will post this in the main thread for the Tofclock ROM here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1499747&posted=1#post1499747
We might have a solution.
tofclock wm6 rom all installed ok....(with tochtest.cab app from addon2)
touchflo opens in bits... (goto programs then touchflo) theres separate apps for each screen...makes sense..
what dosnt work at all is the task bar button at the bottom,... comes up with "cannot be opened. either it is not a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found....try reinsalling ect..."
in the top left of the error window it has ' " ' ..what is it trying to open???
ive trailed through all the settings but theres nothing to configure for this,,, id would be amazing to get this working like the 'touch' phone...
anyone any ideas????

Got the same problem.
Got the same message today from another taskbar button. I downloaded the test version of Pocket Hack Master today. I uninstalled it also for several other issues a.o. that it wants to constantly run at the highest turbo speed, telling me that CPU load is 100%, while I want to underclock to expand battery life.
But the same message from unrelated taskbar buttons sounds like we found another bug in the ROM. HTC and Anton Topov both spread their software with trusted certificates I assume. And I checked, there was nothing wrong with the startup shortcut of PHM as you probably checked for Touchflo.
I thought I downloaded and installed Diamond TF3D Config program. It's the one that you can change the tabs on the home page, add and delete tabs, right?
Well, it seems it was slowing down my setup so I tried to delete it several ways and each time it's still there.
So tonight, I came home and did a hard reset. Settings - clear programs - 1234
That does a hard reset, right?
Well, it redoes everything and guess what, the Diamond TF3D Config
program is STILL there....
Am I missing something?
FWIW, I'm using Dutty's 1.4 version ROM
Thanks,
Mark
That is indeed a hard reset. It might be a part of the customizations and to get rid of that, do a soft reset right before the customizations initialize.
Try going to settings/today/items/unclick Touch flo 3D
If you haven't tried it....
Will
I used Dutty's 2.2 ROM and the programme comes pre-installed as part of Dutty's ROM it seems. Using the advice above about soft-resetting before it installs the customisations should work (?) but then you won't have any of the other awesome apps Dutty pre-loads.
Also, I can;t say i have noticed the TF3D config affecting speed (when tried on my stock ROM) especially when the Advanced Configuration tweaks are applied.
Just my thoughts
I want to be able to scroll through touchflo 3d with the capacitive wheel but can't seem to find any programs that will let me do that. I tried Diamond tweaks and Diamond Scroll but none of those programs habve teh option i want. I would try GScroll but ive been hearing about alot of crashing problems.
I don't think there is. I know people have tried and failed. It seems that TF3D is hardcoded that way, but who knows. Someone might make a breakthrough! I know Da_G is the master of hex editing
man... i used to have a program that allowed this function. It worked PERFECTLY, but i had to hard-reset my phone, and forgot to back that up. I'll try to get in touch w/ the person who gave it to me, and see if I can help you out!

FWIW I use GScroll, and haven't had any problems with crashing (either it, or other programs).
Cheers,
Steve.
diamond tweak give u the option to enable it at some applications (calander, call history, contacts, file explorer, internet explorer, programs, phone & ofcourse diamond tweak itself).
i had a skin installed,i.e a cab file.earlier i installed skins on my viva(opal)without any error but now it shows 'Tap Here to launch touchflo' and then even after tapping nothing happens..the phone just shows 'initialising touchflo' message and then again says 'tap here....'.any1 have a solution for this.pls help.
so do u want the touch flow or not?
ya of course i want the touchflo its so cool.pls sum1 help.
Solution:Tap Here to launch touchflo error
If you have M2D customizer, just open it & go to Launcher tab then change settings to Number of Columns: Three and Number of Rows: Six. Apply and ok.
One Solution
Another solution is....well let me change the course of thought...theres a new today screen plug-in that strikes a similar look to TouchFlo but with a cooler look Check it out.
