I'm having the same problem for a week now...
I was on the street with my BA making calls and all went Ok. I use it for my work, so I do lots of calls a day. Suddenly, I realized, when I call, that the other can not hear me, nor can I hear them! The counter is running, the screen says "Connected". I haven't done anything to change the configuration, nor it have dropped it from my pocket.
I'¡m getting crazy. I don't know what I've done wrong.
Things tried unsuccessfully: Crying or Very sad
-Lots of device resets..... Between tryes and Updates.
- Reinstalled WM5 using a different ROM. Now I have TM 1.3. [http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42632]
- Upgraded Radio to 1.15 (previously, I had 1.13)
- Used a Bluetooth headset. It worked, I could hear the sound from the phone, at least. Only thru the bluetooth headphone. Still, I could not hear any phone-sound from the loudspeaker when I turned off the headphone and the bluetooth headset were disabled, even with the Bluetooth signal ON, as suggested on other post. Each try with a new call. The weird thing is that I CAN hear the loudspeaker when I hear music or the system sounds... :?
- "Installed" the Unidirectional patch (copied the AudioGW.dll file over the old one successfully, reset, etc..)
- Turned off the device and leave it off for a while. Take off the SIM card, touch it (cosmic vibrations Embarassed) Sometimes, before, the SIM card went a little nuts if I resetted the device too much -maybe Confused- or if I got the battery off...
- Last, I've downgraded to the latest WM2003 ROM. Formatted the Storage Space and resseted the Registry Hive. No change. All else is working.
My options are finishing ....
Sorry if this has been posted before, but, at this point, when I've been tried almost (I think) everything, i couldn't find anything relevant using search.
Please, any help will be greatly appreciated!!! Maybe I can use at least a link to another thread..
Thanks

ow... DONT PANIC !!! try flashing once again ... including ROM & RADIO
Rom & Radio flashed again. At no avail
I've used, lastly, the "standard" Rom posted on I-mate website (www.clubimate.com) [ROM: 1.40.00 WWE; Radio: 1.12.00; Protocol: 1337.42], just to checkout and everything (regarding this problem) remains the same.
I've, however, noticed that, before, when I used the volume slider up, first the PDA-volume went up, later the phone-volume. Now it only fully moves up the PDA-volume. I think this have something to do...
Again: Please, help me!!!
Thanks for your answer!!

Still the same after 3 flashing sessions
Two days ago, I've sent an e-mail to I-Mate. They have answered me yesterday telling me to hard-reset :? and if that doesn't work, to send the device to France or Portugal for fixing. Here on Spain there's no place where to send it.
I think it should be a software problem (maybe) that's why I'm asking help here.. Also, the problem with the volume slider up only occurs on W2003, not on WM5
What should I do??
Anyone?? HELLOO?
i've had this problem for a long time, and tried so many different patches non worked, but there is a way to deal with this issue u need to keep ur bluetooth on all da time or remove the file BTTrayCE from this directory
Mydevice>windows>start up
and copy this file to ur storage card if later u want to use ur Bluetooth so wat removing of this file does is that the icon in of bluetooth in tray bar will not appear automatically after u restart ur machine .
hope this helps
At no avail , but many thanks anyway.
I've seen this solution on other posts and I've tried it before. Without luck
Even the 'bluetooth on all the time' alternative. Without luck
Also, I'm now on TuMa 1.3 (WM5). The file relative to bluetooth on the startup folder is "BTIcon", wich I have moved as you stated. Without luck
Maybe the file you tell is for WM2003 ?? Could it be? Is the file named 'BTTrayCE' on WM2003 and 'BTIcon' on WM5?
I'm really desperate.

umm yeah i'm sorry, mine is running WM2003, maybe u should try downgrading to 2003 as well since i've done it and now i'm having less problems, i really don see much of advantage in using 2005, good luck.
ok here is a patch that is supposed to fix this problem but hasn't worked on mine, i just attach it here it might work on urs, or u might already have used it.
Sometime back, I had come across a post on a similar problem. I think what you have is a erratic headphone jack..I believe there is a micro (?)switch in there which connects headset and disconnects speakerphone.
I had a similar problem sometime back, and just put the headphone jack in there, jiggled it a bit and it started working. basically released the switch. your symptoms point to a similar problem...does not have anything to do with Radio ROM. Has not given me problem since then
here you go..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33207
Yup, I've seen this forum before. If it has to do with a headphone problem, then It shouldn't be heard anytime, and I CAN hear music and such from the device when it isn't in a call. Anytime I put the device on the "call" state (dialing, connected, hold, etc..) the sound goes out. :-S
So, it should not be a headphones problem.... should it??

OK, I've tried, for nth time, going back to WM2003SE (112 T-Mobile) and applying the unidirectional patch I've found here (I think is the same posted on the I-mate site I've tested before) and NOTHING changes...
Still the same problem.
Any clues?

I also have a similar problem - when in phone mode, other side can hear me but i cannot hear them, if i plug a headset with microphone the other side hear me and i also have sound from other side.
if i unplug the headset, i cannot hear the other side but the other side can hear me.
are there microswitches inside the headset plug for both microphone and speaker (two microswitches) ?
thanks, yol.
Hi everyone! great info on this site. been lookin around for a few hours now. Ive had my Qtek9090 for almost a year now. Trying to get a grip on this whole UPGRADING the ROMs idea. which brings me to my question.
I am a firm beliver of the whole "if it aint broke, dont fix it" saying... however i would like to upgrade my PDA for legitament reasons...
I am not interested in going to MOBILE 5. from what i have gathered it has conflicts with TOMTOM NAV 5 (which i use everyday) and other conflicts that convince me otherwise.
However, my PDA does hang randomly causing me to "soft reset" and sometimes when i call people they cannot hear me but i can hear them..
I am just curious as to which upgrades specifically i need to rid of said problems.. (If the upgrades fix other "bugs" that doesnt hurt either.. but i dont want to open the door to more problems..)
Thanks in advance everyone.
P.S. - how do i get my profile to allow me to choose qtek9090 and rom dates from the drop down boxes? i added the correct info to signature box, due to the fact that i could not add it initally.
I have to say that running TomTom5 on WM5 i've had no problems since TomTom released a 5.2 patch.
The reason I went for WM5 was very simular to the problems you are having, random lockups and sometimes if I answered a call I could hear someone but they couldnt hear me. Since going to WM5 I haven't had any problems with these two issues. The only thing that WM5 has that bugs me is the slow keyboard, which a simple overclocking can fix (which Blue Angels are designed to do)
Do you know what ROM you are on at the moment? If you goto 'Start -> Settings -> Device Information' then you can get all the versions, copy them here and I guess peeps will be able to tell you what can be upgraded.
Duh! Signature...
hehe
LOL @ signature! agagag. hmm im actually scared of going to wm5. but huh who knows.. i would really rather avoid it tho... How is that new patch for tomtom? what does it fix? thanks for the quick answer.
radio rom
You might try updating your radio rom to 1.15
Greetings vastloper
Well before the patch I couldn't even install TomTom5!
The trick is to download the update BEFORE trying to install TomTom5. If you unzip the update package (WinRAR does it) then insert your TomTom installation CD without autorun, then in the folder you unziped run the "setup.exe" program. Hay presto it all works.
It's even simpler then I make it sound.
And yeah, Radio Upgrade if nothing else should fix a couple of problems. I think you have to do a hard reset anyway for the radio update, but if your BA keeps locking up I'd make sure you do one.
thanks for the info
thanks for the info guys... yea i did something stupid last night. i tried to do that VGA hack, and it ended up not working and screwing up my file explorer? any ideas on how to remove it? ive been messin with it and i got tot he point where its "GOOD AS IS" and i deleted the files.. whats teh file called so i can look in the FTP downloads for the 1.15 RADIO UPDATE.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Radio_1.15_Upgrade
Not only do you get the file, but full instructions on how to install it.
On the same page is a link to the old versions, so if for somereason you don't like the 1.15 Radio ROM you can just downgrade again. In fact the same goes for WM5.
thanks
hey thanks alot bro. Ill give the upgrade a shot.
I am more interested in vastloper because he has or had the same QTEK 9090 as i did. and im just curious as to how your current ROM is? stable? anything ya dont like about it??
well guys updated to the 1.5 RADIO ROM after reading the whole thread... had some probs with installation but thanks to the INFO on the site i managed to get through it... however i did lose my MP3 sound. and could not find an answer to it so far.. anyone got an idea?
1 person mentioned he had the same problem. but everyone else didnt.
update
did some trouble shooting and narrowed it down to media player i think. If i do a soft reset, and load an MP3 from PDA HD, it works. but when i close media player, all my sound cuts out!! even basic windows tones.
the sound will work while playing the MP3, even when i use the pause button, But its only after i close MEDIA PLAYER all my sound stops working. Any ideas?
found a ref to the exact same problem.

I made a cab that may alleviate some of the skipping problems experienced over A2dp... however since i dont have a wizard anymore i cant test it... anyone willing to test?
I'm game
Hey Shogun,
If you need a guinea pig, I am game.. Right now, my skipping is fixed through overclocking the wizard...
Still, if you got a fixed for the high pitch hissing, even better... !!
I'm using Molski's 2.26.10.2 AKU2.3 ROM (with standard Micros~1 BT stack), so I could also volunteer to guinea this out. My e-mail and MSN are in my xda-dev board profile.
i dont know if this will fix the hissing or not, hell i dont even know if it will work since i dont have a wizard to test it on.. but its good in theory... i will be in contact with you both
CAB is great but...
...believe me, i suffered skipping for years and THE solution is the following!

i just wanted to report that 1 of my testers has replied back to me.. they said the quality seems a little muddy on my test cab here but the music has only skipped twice in 2 hours, and the skip was less than a half second each time!!!
I would really like some more testers!! ANYONE????
I have a Cing 8125 that I can test on, I PM'ed you.
I have been testing this tweak for awhile now with Molski's latest 2.26 ROM. Unfortunately, using my Plantronics Pulsar 590A bluetooth headset, skipping is still a problem. Additionally, the tweak had no effect on the high-frequency interference present on Micros~1's lousy BT stack. So far my best results to eliminate skipping has been overclocking via the BatteryStatus plugin.
Thank you for your attempt to fix this problem, nonetheless, shogun.
Yesterday I flashed my Tilt and installed the RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_3.03.405.0 ROM. Everything was working just fine. My fiancee liked the new layout and functionality, so I flashed her phone tonight, with the same ROM and everything.
However, from the moment she called my phone from hers to test the new ROM, neither of our phones has played any sound whatsoever. No ringtones, no media files, we can't even here or talk to other people when we make calls. I've also noticed that for whatever reason, inside the alarms menu when I try to set an alarm sound, the drop down menu forces the selection to "Default". Even if I try scroling with the keypad or the wheel, the selection shifts up or down one, then immediately returns to "Default". I'm guessing these two problems are somehow connected, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what the problem is or why it would suddenly afflict both phones, even though I hadn't done anything to mine except answer her call.
I've tried resetting the phone and going through all sorts of options, but nothing seems to make a difference. I can still send and recieve text messages, and the vibrate works just fine. I can even connect to calls, but I can't hear the other person and they can't hear me.
I've looked around online and in this forum, and I only found one instance of someone else complaining about this problem (on a blog with a top 10 list of fixes for Tilt problems), but his plea went unanswered there.
As it is, I couldn't call 911 if I needed to right now, so this is a pretty big problem.
Any ideas? Do I just need to re-flash both phones?

ouch... this is a pretty easy one and has been answered MANY times... check the thread called "no sound or camera problems... change your radio" so yeah... change your radio.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, but I've searched the exact string you posted, I've tried "No sound" (with and without quotes, and several other combination, and I can't find the thread you're talking about. I'm sorry if this question pops up a lot, I really did spend an hour and a half trying to find the answer before asking. Wow.. I've been at this for a while now. I'm starting to understand the whole Radio thing, but I'm having the damnedest time figuring out which radio I should be installing. I've found pages and pages of numbers and names, but what I haven't seen is recommendations or hints towards the HTC 3.03.405.0 ROM's compatibility with the various radios. I've tried changing the radio once so far, but it didn't change any of the issues I"m having.. I'll keep trying (So not looking forward to work tomorrow)

listen, you dont have to try every radio individually.... I dont know if your rom is 6.0 or 6.1 but that should start to narrow it down... but worse comes to worse you only have to try 4 different radios... the first 3 numbers are the important ones... after that try the others starting with those numbers to find the best reception/gps fix etc... so try one of each of the
1.27 (if you have 6.0)
or
1.58
1.64
1.65 (if you have 6.1) (which is more likely if this is a new rom)
whatever you do do NOT flash to 1.65.17.10
try those 4 starting with 1.65
Thanks so much for your help and patience with me.
Ok.. this is slowly coming together in my head.

No problems so far. (You cant connect to the Pandora if you are connected to the Computer via activesync)
so unconnect it
attached is the 1.1.4 version of Pandora
i am just restating what the other thread says. this is abridged Kaiser version.
EDIT and UPDATE:
Pause doesnt work for me. Songs usually play full through but sometimes it jumps to the next song. Other thread hypothesizes that sound quality is proportional to your connection speed at the beginning of each song. If you lose connection momentarily, it'll switch to next song (hypothesis again).
With the usb-3.5 adapter plugged in, screen doesnt turn off

I am so happy about this. I have been tryin to get Pandora on my TILT for a while now!!!

Looks like once you get a phone linked to an account it sticks, at least for me. A friend with the same phone/rom works great. help?

Thanks!
Installed on my stock Tilt (no bloat) and it worked perfectly! I haven't tried it over Media Net (I have Edge here, so I'm thinking not too well) or Wifi, but through USB it worked flawlessly.
Could even pause and give thumbs up.
Great day!
Working Great!
I just installed and am connected via ActiveSync and everything is working great. I'll have to test it over wifi when I get into a wifi area.
Not workin for me I get a C++ debug asertion failed err on line 756. Expression vecor subscript out of range. this is on a tilt
Pandora doesn't quite work
When I run Pandora an error screen pops up with a c++ error with a Vector out of range. I ignored this and it seemed to run ok. Asked for login & password. That worked ok and showed my preset stations. When I tried to play a station, a screen saying pandora loading and then nothing. Tried reloading the program in main memory, didn't work.
If I run the program now it goes directly to the hung-up loading screen without even showing the stations screen.
I would love to see this program work, any clues?
Actually this is the same as GUS RT reported.

Pandora was working great for me with PDA Corner Ultimate V16 rom and Jabra BT stereo headset.
Today when I try to start it I get the C++ debug error.
I have installed several programs between the last time I used Pandora and today, so maybe one of those whacked it. I am going to reflash my ROM and start over, trying Pandora after every new app Maybe we can figure out what causes the error and what will fix it.
