removing programs from wizard

Guys,
I'm not able to remove any programs via activesync from my wizard.
I can see the programs listed in activesync but I can't remove any of the installed programs; it's driving me crazy!
Please help!

That is exactly the problem; how do I remove a program from my PPC?
Because via Activesync doesn't work.....
The program I like to remove is minimo (mozilla for PPC's)

Have the same problem, Windows can not delete programfiles. When i install an update of a program, the setup failed. If i delete files manualy i can install the update. Had the same problem with original rom.

Try....
Start > Settings > System > Remove Programs.
This should do what you are after.

my dear friend thats the problem....by doing any of the above i cannot uninstall any programmes ...it say cant remove programmes but do u delet it from your list of removable progrrames...funny

Same here. Minimo would not uninstall
went to remove prog. it said it did but all it did was remove it from the remove programs list.
Hard reset here we go. Pocket mechanic was the same for me.

It's ok when you exactly know where the program is installed - you should simply delete its files. But how can I upgrade to .NET CF 2.0?
Installer can't remove previous version and I can't delete files manually cause I don't know what files to delete :-(

I've had the same problem trying to remove minimo and the Atomic Cannons Demo. :? So far these are the only items I have tried to uninstall. I just deleted the folders and shortcuts, but I'd rather figure out what's causing the problem!
Running the QTek test ROM (WWE) on a US Tmo MDA.

I also have that. however most of the time it works for me to soft-reset and then remove. for some reason that works (for me)

I would recommend a soft reset just prior to removing software from a WM5 PPC. WM5 only minimises most programs instead of closing them when you click the X so the application stays open therefore files are still in use which prevents a successful removal.
Even if the progam has been closed by Start>Settings>System>Memory>Running Programs or a task manager like in SPB Pocket Plus there is a chance that there are still associated files locked open unless a soft reset is done before uninstall. Windows Applications on the desktop will normally prompt for a restart after uninstall if files were in use however it looks like the majority of Windows Mobile apps (or Windows itself) dont have the same functionality (some Mobile apps do prompt for restart but not very many).
Also, apps with today screen plugins should be disabled, before a soft reset then uninstall the app as WM seems to lock the files open when active on today screen as well.
I havent had the uninstall error once since i have done a soft reset before uninstalling any software, hopefully others will have the same success. I know this wont apply to every situation but so far so good for me. :wink:

Puckster is right.Run your task manager to see all runing programs and close them before trying to uninstall or simply soft reset prior to uninstall.It works without a flaw.

never tried the sonblack rom ather.. im using master c_shekhar wm6.1 build 19209..

the STK has been reported to work on Sonblacks ROM..so i dumped the ROM and extracted the STK from it..

No luck yet...
It's not working. Only opens a blank white screen. After setting the STK service to start at startup-and a softreset, the STK UI link in start menu/programs changes to DialogServices which is my network provider. I tried diffrent settings in registry too, but still No luck. Can you add the settings in HKLM/Services/STK_Service too in the CAB. Is there any other Registry modifications that affects STK.

Still not working.... But try this,
1.Install & restart
2.Open FdcSoft task-mgr or SKtools
3.Go to services section. You will see a service named Stk_Services. This is in automatic mode, but stopped.
4.Start it.
5.Now click the start menu shortcut. It may still show a white screenin the first time, but notem the soft-keys are now labeled.
6.Exit from it and clic again.
7. NOW IT WORKS. But when clicked on something in the second level menu, it gives a error message
"sorry, service is unavailable. Error:FF03"
Still something is missing. I think the best method available is to build our rom on the PDAVIET rom.

these files are extracted from PV rom it self..now i know it cant be the Enviromental Difference ..what could be the problem..will try again the Registery

I dumped the PDAVIET rom and searched the registry for anythink related to STK, but I failed. Looking forward for a good solution from you. Sir, how can I set the STK service to autostart & keep working at startup? I tried in the registry manually and with FdcSoft Task Manager. It says automatic, But still I have to start it manually after each restart.

after i installed the STK2.cab, it autatically restarded the phone, open my program folder and saw that there are two STK link.
one is the original "myservice" Menu
and the other one is STK UI
i clicked the new link program bt unfortunately, the same appearance that i see everytime i open my last link of STK program. There are only white screen and "STK Service" at the top.
here is what happened asther. hope that it will help you making the updated cab for STK..

(But this is independent of the status of the service. No matter it is STARTED or STOPPED, the 'keep' stays in 1

fringWinmob.cab doesnt install

Actually Im using Skype , but I want to try Fring on Xperia ..........
I have downloaded proper cab I think , from Fring web site , I try to install it on external memory or internal , but installing process looks bloked .
Any workarround to solve this ?

Solution was simply , there is 2 fullscreen windows that was hidden , so with task manager I forced hiden windows to goes up and then I can continue the instalation proces .

I just installed Dialer Ace 3D on my Omnia i8000.. wanted to share it with you guys out here..
Its working good till now, without any problems on my origianl WinMo 6.1 Rom. (It also works on WinMo 6.5 and HTC TD2)
For all who dont know what it is...
Dialer Ace 3D is a dialer application specially made for Samsung Omnia i8000..
It is capable of motion dialing.. Select your contact by tilting the phone and then bring the phone to your ear-- and it dials the number..

You may get it from Samsung App Store.. Its free to download..
To download on PC you will first have to download and Install KIES (available on Samsung app store) and then open the App Store within KIES application and search for the Dialer Ace 3d under 'Utilities' and download..
IMP: While installing KEIS on your PC select your location as UK.. As the app store is not available for all locations..

Dialer Ace on the Verizon i920
Has anyone got this to work on the Verizon Omnia II? I tried loading it to My Storage and to the device memory itself and both times no luck. I click on the icon and nothing happens and the phone send button does not get mapped to the program like it is supposed to.

1) Even if i set dialerace as my default dialer, i can't get it work while on spb shell. It only works when i'm at today screen.
Is that right? Has anyone of you get it work with spb shell?
2) Can you please tell how the 'favourite contact' thing works? I have for example a contact for my brother, with 2 cell phone numbers and a phone number of his office. There are some times i want to call the 1st cell phone number and others i'd like to call him in the 2nd one. The problem is that when on his contact card i can see only one of the cell phone and not the 2nd !!

Get out of 3d menu and then click on the contact.. it will display his cell phone and office # both..
I have a contact which has 2 work #'s and 1 cell #. but Dialer ace will display only his Cell # and 1st work #.. the second work # wont display..
Check their website and their forum...

May be your device won't allow to install unsigned apps.. as per the error...
Try the registry tweak below and then try installing again...
1. Open registry editor and got to the following key
2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies
3. Change value 0000101a from 0 to 1
Then soft reset..
P.S. Get it directly from KEIS or you may also try the other cab posted here..

It works and it is quite hard to get used to at first hand.
It is totally different than the original dialer, the pad with numnber type.
It shows you by the most frequent contact you have dialed for the last 24 hrs and it doesn't look as your favourites (frankly, people we put in our favourites may not be the ones we always dial, right?)

sorry for the delay. install to your device. then got to "program files"->"dialerace", or something, then you'll have a "dialerace 3d.cab" and "sdk.....cab". click on the "dialerace3d.cab" and install it again

Can not remove GlassClock_v1.cab

Dear hobbyists, developers and technicians,
It seems to me that you are specialist on solving problems with HTC telephones . Now i have an Touch Diamond ( version 1) wich i have installed GlassClock_v1.cab on. When i disliked the lay-out, i wanted to remove it and get back to the old style clock. But now the GlassClock_v1.cab file can not be removed from my phone, whatever i try.
The error that i get is " the programm/file is not removed entirely , do you want to remove the programm/file ?" . Then you can push the 'Yes' button, but the file still does exist after removing was 'removed' .
Does anyone have a solution for this very anoying problem?

Most likely, the reason the clock cannot be completely removed is because part of it is still running in memory. It may be only a single file. I suggest you use an app like MemMaid(free full trial) to show running processes and stop the process that may causing your issue.
Then try uninstalling. Also, there may be some leftover files in the registry that you may have to manually remove using a registry editor like PHM RegEditor(freeware). You could also try to install a different clock which may overwrite the glass clock you had and allow you to remove the unwanted leftovers. Hope some part of that helps!
