Hello Everyone,
My BA is stuck at the Splash Screen, I suspect that the Bootloader is corrupt. Does anyone know how to flash it?
try this for whoever get stuck at boot screen or in bootloader mode
1. Download mtty v1.42 from http://files.pdamobiz.com/ROMs/XDA/mtty1.42.rar
2. Stop ActiveSync, by Task Manager (press Ctrl + Alt + Delete)
kill two processes rapimgr.exe and wcescomm.exe
3. put your device into Bootloader Mode by pressing Power + Record Button and Soft Reset.
4. Run mtty (from downloaded) Choose WCEUSBSH001
5. type "set 14 0" without the quotes to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset.
6. type "task 28" to get your device formatted
7. type "task 0" to ask your device reboot
8. take the device out of the cradle, and manually reset it if it does not do that already.
good luck.

imatrix's suggestion.
@imatrix
Followed the steps before, and followed them again.. I'm still stuck.
Something interesting happened though:
There are two horizontal stripes across the splashscreen now.
I already tried to flash the OS, It doesn't work with the standard imate flash executable (It used to work before) and now I'm getting a 'MODEL ID ERROR' when I try to flash it using the BAupgrade... executable.
I tried with the MAupgradenoid tool, it flashes but I still get stuck on the splashscreen...
Thanks,
Wadih
BlueAngel Bootloader
Anyone has a way to either dump a bootloader file for the BA (Providing the file of course) or alternatively directives to copy it from another device (From the same make, i.e. Imate PDA2K) ?
Many thanks,
Wadih.

I did, but as I specifed in me earlier post, eventhough the MAUpgradenoID flashes the files, I still get stuck at the splashscreen.
Interesting point: After flashing witht the MAUpgradenoID, I try reflashing back with the BAupgradeid.. I get the Model Error ID error back..
Something in the BA is wrong, and I believe it may be in the Bootloader. So, is there a way to replace the bootloader itself?
EDIT: By the way, I can't seem to be able to place a WM5 rom instead of the WM2003, although the flashing procedure starts, it quickly ends (i.e. without the percentage bar appearing) and says that the flashing worked successfully... But nothing gets actually flashed.
Many thanks for the help imatrix.
Regards,
Wadih.

Hi people,
first - Excuse please my english
We (me and Jimm98y) in Czech republic are making ROMs to HTC Wizard and
some peoples say us: "Hey men, Why you don`t write about your ROM to
XDA-dev ?" Many posts on forum ce4you.cz is like:
Code:
Thank you people I think that is the best ROM for Wizard ever
So.... We´re here !
[size=+1]Please do NOT remake our ROM, because We were done a hard
work on it and we don´t want any steal of our job[/size]
So what´s in?
- OS 2.26.10.2 with aku 2.3 (we think that is still better then 3.2)
- GSM 2.25.11 (I think it is better than 2.47.11)
- HTC logo (surprise)
- Splash screen (Windows mobile loading...)
- ExtROM (many things unusuall things)
- IPL/SPL - not included
That ROM works only on CID-unlockded HTC Wizard
Base features:
IN ROM
- Program to browse contacts via Bluetooth
- Total commander
- OmapClock
- ScreenOff
- WM5torage 1.73
- Smartskey
- Default vlack theme
- Dialer vista skin by jimm98y with T9 and big buttons
- Skin for WMP ala WMP 11 by Xcilion (my rebuild)
- Voice speed dial settings
- HTC X-button
- Soft key applet
- Many registry tweaks (only universal)
- Cleartype by default
- deleted much unusable things
- Camera patch
- Removed green battery
- Removed MSN
IN EXTENDED ROM
Automatic
- Midlet manager (big program - if you do NOT need it - skip install and install extROM manually)
- CAB, that shows version of extROM
- Setup MMS folder
- SMS delivery fix (fix of non-shows names on SMS delivery)
Manually
(in that section there are programs, what you can manually install from the
shortcut in Start/programs/Install)
- Batti 2.1 (CZech program by "David Andrš" to show battery in upper taskbar - now fixed to english version)
- Wifi g enable (cab with one register to quick enable/disable by uninstall
wi-fi b/g)
- Mchat2.1b (icq client)
- .NET cf2
- TCPMP with all plugins included AAC
- Windows live messenger
- And configuration cabs to Czech Republic GPRS, but you don´t mind them
All packed to
- 45 MB free ROM (before customization)
- 42.3 MB free ROM (after customization)
- 32.2 MB RAM (always)
IN rom there is default clock to 252 MHz (by omapclock + smartskey) and you
can quickly in: Programs/overclock set any other "base" clock.
I think there are plenty of things to wrote, but I have not time to next New Years
EVE and here you have a video, what will put your minds about that ROM:
You can download some foto templates, because in ROM there is only one
czech home page
you can get our banner
[size=+1]download Superrom v 1.1 by ppctuning.org[/size]
SupeRom
Thanks guys As i write this I'm downloading the Rom. I'll let you know how it works for me.
Thank you guys, I will try it this weekend and give a feedback.
thanks, it's great to see new rom cookers here as Ive always feel that every cook brings a little something to the table!
Installed with no problems. Well slight problems with configuring the battery meter as it is in Czeck! - so some trial and error here but it works very well.
Everything works fine with T-mobile in the U.K.
Early days but could be the best ROM yet.
I have tried all the others and up to now have been using
Risidoro. This is similar but may just edge Risidoro into second place.
Very well done.
An english version of the battery meter Batti 2.1 can be found at:-
http://andrsd.blogspot.com/2006/08/batti-21.html
Makes it a lot easier for us english to configure!

No it does not.
After having some problems with Molski's, battery drain etc. I installed yours, up until now running smoothly.
Maybe worth considering the crossbow icons, because people are waiting for this for 3 weeks already. It seems very important.....

After the boot is completed or when it gives the startup screen?
edit: It seems that my wizard has given up..
When I turn it on it does all the 'checks', than it gives the Splash screen (Windows mobile loading...), and after that the screen sort of flashes.. It actually turns into stripes, than
it turns into grey -> black, and it boots up again.. It keeps doing this routine.. It looks to me it's sort of broke? When I plug it in via USB it doesn't make any difference...

Try this one i think u flash ur previous ROM which is still locked...it happens before with me.
1.In your PC (task manager) "end the task for wescomm.exe" you can find this in the processes window (this is related with activesync installed on your PC).
2.Get your phone in bootloader mode. Like this : hold the "voice dial" and shortly press the reset button by stylus, release the reset button and wait for the USB color screen
3.Now connect your USB cable to your phone. And start MTTY_updateROM.exe as attached . After open, on Port selection, choose \\.\WCEUSBSH001 and press OK. A window will open with a blank sheet.
4. Type "r2sd all" and hit enter... wait to the end (at end shows "cmd>"). On your phone screen u can follow backup progress... small bar will appear down the RGB screen.
5. To revived your device you have to downgrade it to 1.05 Rom ( ftp://xda:[email protected]_11210_WWE.exe )
6.Be sure that you have to unlock first your device before you will flash again with another ROM like V2.XX or more.

Great! It looks like it's working perfect..! Only the part with the updater isn't completely clear to me... I can get the USB color screen and hit the "r2sd all" in the blank sheet. It immediately gave the Cmd> and a white bar with USB in it below the screen on my wizard.. ?
(immediately after I entered my way through the "r2sd all" command) It doesn't give anything extra...
Any more thoughts
SuperROM 1.1 WWE
Hi all,
I flashed that molskis ROM and than Superrom 1.1 WWE by ppctuning.org and I must say:
The SuperROM is the best ROM for wizard, much better than molski, ridsoro, faria etc! There are also changes right in system, but much more.
This ROM is very fast and stable. The system is faster, without overclock (I disabled it), than in other ROMs overclocked to 240MHz! After HR it has 45 MB free ROM and 32 MB free RAM. There are preinstalled some usefull programs (only freeware) and you can optionally install much other programs from extended-rom.
I Recentley Tried To Upgrade To The Latest ROM So I Went To The O2 UK Website And Downloaded Xda_IIs_Upgrade_v140242.exe, About Half Way Through The Upgrade My Computer Froze And I Had To Re-Start It.
Now My XDA IIs Wont Turn On And When I Put It In Its Cradle The Power Light Turns Red....Not Orange But Red. I Have Tried Running Xda_IIs_Upgrade_v140242.exe Again But I Just Get;
ERROR 101: CONNECTION ERROR
Is There Anything I Can Do Or Is It Terminal?
Thanks

No Luck
Just To Make Sure, The Notes Button Been To The Left Of The Speaker? I Have Tried Holding All 3 At Once And Nothing Happens. I Dont Have My Mains Cable In, Will That Matter?

HOWTO: Reinstall existing ROM without touching Extended ROM or Upgrading/Downgrading
The following methods allow you to get rid of all user data on the device (except for memory recognised by the resident system as being storage cards).
>>> METHOD A -> Device Only (recommended, faster)
1) Use two fingers to simultaneously press the RECORD and CAMERA buttons of the phone (on the phone's left side). Whilst these two buttons are depressed, use the stylus to click the soft-reset button underneath the phone - keep the two buttons depressed until the boot loader screen appears.
2) This should enable three options on the boot screen. These options allows a YES/NO response. Use the RECORD and CAMERA buttons to navigate between the options, and switch the YES/NO values. Set the following:
1] Enable KITL: NO (this is a debug tracing option which isn't required, except possibly for developers)
2] Format Registry Hive: YES (clears the registry)
3] Format Storage: YES (formats the internal memory: "\" directory, and under "\RamDisk\". Items under any storage card "\Storage Card\" are not formatted).
3) Once these options are set, press the MAIL button (in between today and the Pocket IE button) to confirm these options, and continue with the Registry and Storage format.
4) The device performs the reset, and the Windows CE setup screens (ie. screen alignment etc.) appear. Continue as per a new install.
>>> METHOD B -> Mtty
1) Kill activesync processes: Ctrl+Shift+Esc in Windows to bring up Task Manager. Kill wcescomm.exe and WCESMgr.exe (by selecting the task on the processes tab, and clicking the End Process button below)
2) Phone needs to be POWER + Record + Pen Reset and on Serial/USB screen. COnnect it to the PC, and it should show USB, with the backlight remaining off.
3a) Run mtty1.42.exe. (or the attached mtty application)
b) Select USB from first list (where COM1 is displayed. Don't press USB button). If USB (or a list item containing USB) isn't in the list, then you have't connected to the PC properly.
(Leave default parameters: 8 bits / Flow Control NONE / Stop bits 1 / Parity None / Local Echo No)
c) Click OK
3) Run following commands:
[press enter first to get USB> prompt]
USB>
5. type "set 14 0" without the quotes to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset.

After step 4. mtty alerts with "USB port cant open". What now?
On your phone, when connected, ensure that at the top of the screen, it says "USB", not "Serial". Also ensure you've killed the ActiveSync processes properly.
Also consider:-
* Are you able to use ActiveSync to sync when not following this process?
* Does USB appear in mtty as a connection option?

I am trying your plan B I got the mitty up but I am unable to type into the screen
I'm dizzy reading all the threads, information overload, so thought I'd just post the question! This is all a bit scary and I'm a complete newbie so take it easy on me... and feel free to dumb everything down as if I were a child.
I live in Australia and have a Treo 750 with Software Version TREO750-1.15-ROW. It seems to be unlocked but still has the Telstra splash screen, although I use it with Vodafone. I want to upgrade to WM6, and from what I can tell I should upgrade using Treo750_2_27_ROW_EN_DesktopUpdater.zip (which I now have). Is this right? Should I skip straight to the WM6.1 upgrade? Are these official/safe?
I am running 32-bit Vista with SP1 on my laptop.
I found instructions on Palm's site here:
http://www.palm.com/au/support/treo750/downloads/wm6update.html
Are those the instructions I should follow? Is that all I need to do? I keep seeing references to the "Bootloader Method" or the "SD Card Method" or the "Cheetah Method". What are all these alternative methods? Which are the advantages of each? I've seen various different instructions, some involving renaming some .nbh file, etc. What is the definitive method?
I saw the sticky thread for the "Cheetah Hard-SPL and SIM Unlocker"... what is that utility for? Are the instructions for it in the download itself? (I didn't see it in the thread) What are "cooked" ROMs and why should I be interested? Where can I find them?
Sorry for the newbieness... thanks so much to all who respond!
upgrade to WM6
If you want to upgrade to the official palm WM6 rom - then you use Treo750_2_27_ROW_EN_DesktopUpdater.zip and it is very simple - just connect the PPC to your computer . (as I know better to do it with a computer with WINXP and Activesync) , then run the program in the file Treo750_2_27_ROW_EN_DesktopUpdater.zip, and that's it.
If you want to upgrade to other roms like 6.1 normal or lite that you can find in this forum - then you need the other methods (there are two as I know - bootloader method or Kaizer..somthing method). Well, I wrote a guide how to upgrade to WM 6.1 lite using the bootloader method , I just sum up from this forum :
1. Download the rom file and the radio file:
Rom file from here : http://rapidshare.com/files/89355384/Treo750_WM6.1_WWE_Lite.rar
The radio file from here :
http://rapidshare.com/files/89336971/Treo750Radio1.54.07.00.rar
2. Download the Hard-SPL from here :
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Cheetah/Unlocker/CheetahUnlocker.rar
3. Format mini SD card 32 FAT , using a card reader or other way.
4. Do a HARD-SPL with the CheetahUnlocker file ( step 2) . Connect the Treo with your computer using Active sync(for WINXP) and run the file. Use those steps:
- Click the Step 1.... wait the progress bar reach 100%
- Now watch the Screen on your PDA it will launch 2 times verification...
- just click YES ...wait.. and YES again.
- after finisih... wait until the activesync go green again.....
- Now click the Step 2... wait the progress bar reach 100%
- Watch the screen again... same thing.. it will launch 2 times verification.
- click YES ...wait.. and YES again.
- After finish it your PC screen will shows some popup. ignore the reading bla bla bla... about ask u to click ok.
- Just wait untill your activesync go green again.
- Now click that bloody Popup OK button.
- The unlocker app will shows up again..
- Then you will see errors saying.. continue, cancel...etc... bla bla... just click continue.. error message.. iqnore it and then just finish it.
- Now your Cheetah should be on HARD SPL mode.
5. Install the ROM :
a. Using Winrar get the file from step 1. It's name should be : CHEEIMG.nbh
b. Copy the file to the root of the mini SD .
c. Do BOOTLOADER:
1. turn phone on
2. press the MEDIA button AND at the same time with the stylus the RESET PIN
the MEDIA button is the 3rd button on the left side of the phone, under the volume button
the RESET PIN is under the MINI SD card cover
3. keep holding the MEDIA button (left side of phone) until you get the 3 color screen
Wait until it finishes. Then Hard reset the device when prompted. To hard-reset, hold the End key while pressing the pin reset button. Answer “yes” to “Erase all data” prompt.
6. Flash the radio at the same way – just copy the radio file to the mini Sd – it should be the same name. (CHEEIMG.nbh ) .
7. Download the Palm SMS file from hereYou need it only for the lite version)
http://rapidshare.com/files/99335294/threadedsms.rar
or
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H63TXUP4
And install it as regular software (Copy to the mini SD and run it from the Treo.)
And that it all !!
Do not restore from your backup (You can restore only your data files).
Good luck !!
Update Successful
Thanks mate, I'm not brave enough to try the wm6.1 upgrade yet, but I did manage to upgrade to wm6 with the Updater, even though my device was "not supported". I ended up using the method where you edit the payloads.xml file before clicking 'start' so that it accepts your current device version, etc. I'm all good now.

WM 6.1 Upgrade
Can anyone tell me where the AT&T Upgrade for the Treo 750 is to version 6.1. I have seen many different posts here that show many different links and different downloads with different loading instructions. Is there anything out there that is clear? I am willing to give it a try, but I am not exactly sure of which download to try. Thanks for your help.
I tried to upgrade my SPV M2000 fromWM2003 to WM6 and that happened. I'm using Vista, just telling you because some of the guides I looked at for fixing that were specifically for Vista but they didn't work. Anyone any ideas? I don't mind having to stick to WM2003. Please someone HELP!!!
If someone helps me could you go through everything from how to get it out of the state it is in now to upgrading/downgrading to WM6 or WM2003 with links and stuff please. And if you can help could you add me on msn please. [email protected]

Do not put your XDA into the cradle yet....
1. Download USBAS file and extract to Desktop
2. Right click on My Computer.
3. Select Device Manager.
4. There should be one with Windows Mobile or something like that.
5. Update driver and slect USBAS file you extracted.
6. when completed insert device.
There you go
It isn't listed in Device Manager unless it is in the cradle.
I got it all sorted .
Glad to hear it....
http://www.modaco.com/content/windo...u-on-vista-it-can-be-done-the-ultimate-guide/ That's where I got the fix from .

Hi,
this has the link with the walk through
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Home
This has the ROMS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403421
Install the ROM then the ExtROM
Thank You.
Here is the guide
Temporary Remove your SD Card (it may work for you with the SD card still in your BA, but better to be sure)
Put your device into Bootloader mode by pressing and hold the "Power" & "Record" buttons, and then press the Reset Button
Connect the phone to the sync cable/cradle.
Now you can upgrade the ROM using BaUpgradeUt.exe / MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
When the upgrade is completed, you must perform a Hard Reset
Press and hold the "Power" button, and then press the Reset Button. Colored stripes (the bootscreen) will appear on the screen.
If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc, EITHER:
Quickly press "Record" & "Camera" before the versions appear at bottom right
OR press "Power" & "Camera" & "Record" buttons and Reset at the same time
If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66:
Quickly press "Record" & "Windows Media" before the versions appear at bottom right EITHER
OR press "Power" & "Windows Media" & "Record" buttons and Reset at the same time
You'll see three options on screen. You must change the second and the third to yes. If you are not developing/testing software you can disable the first debug option for better performance.
If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc, use "Camera" and the "Record" buttons.
If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66, use "Windows Media" and the "Record" buttons.
Note: The "Record" button moves up and down the menu and the "Camera" button toggles Yes/No. When you're done, press the button in the middle of the D-Pad to continue booting.
Press the "Mail" button. A white screen will show for 30 seconds, while it is clearing your device in preparation for the new ROM to start executing
When the bootscreen, aka. the colored stripes is displayed, wait more, you are booting. The welcome screen to set up your device will appear shortly ...
(if removed earlier) Put back your SD Card before you do the setup. This way the installation from the SD will continue after you have done the setup
Your upgraded ROM is now running!
During the first boot the CAB-files from "EXTROM" folder will be installed
