I was just going through a pile of computer cables, when I pulled out my old Alpine sync cable. If anyone wants this (so you don't have to use the dreaded cradle), just PM me and i'll drop it in the post to you.
Sinc Cable
Do you still have the cable and is the cable USB or Serial?

My phone is cingular 8125, my USB port can't sync with PC, I don't know what is going on. When I plug the cable to PC, it tell me unknow device detected. I can't do anything thur USB. Can I unlock by SD card or IR port?
Have you tried connecting you phone to a different PC? Also deinstall Activesync and reinstall it (are you running 4.2 or 4.5).
are you able to charge your phone with the AC/DC charger? if so ur port isnt broken.. so try doing what mmrfrazzz says and u could also go a step further and try uninstalling the usb port drivers then reinstalling them. do your other usb devices work? does ur phone indicate its charging when plugged into usb?
I have 2 8125, the other one is OK. I am using Activesync 4.2. I replaced the USB port, it's work for minutes. After dinner, it only charging but not sync!

From what I understand from your post, it sounds like you have a cold solder joint on the contact or contacts that carry the sync signal; you may need to re-solder these. It only worked for a few minutes because when you applied pressure to the USB port by inserting the plug you compromised the already weak solder point. It works when charging because it charges over different contacts then when it synchronizes. It seems your first solder job was not sound.
PS. If the solder is dull (not shiny), it usually indicates a cold solder joint.
I had this problem with an 8125 i bought on friday for 20 bucks. they had broken the usb port. so i took one out of a razr phone and put on the 8125. at first it would only charge thru usb but not hook up on activesync. but then some how when i soldered it it worked and was able to update it and all that crap. The only thing is that it will not charge with a regular charger. it will only charge when connected to a computer. but hey atleast it works now.
Yes, I was re-soldered the USB port. I have compared my workable and the un-workable one by electric-meter. They are same connecting status, but just not work! I can be charge but not synchronize . Is some IC or chips damaged?

which program do you use to over clock your 8125? can you post here or send to me? [email protected]
I use batterystatus. but the thing is is that some devices respond different to speeds. for example my MDA can only be overclocked to 286. anything higher it freezes up. On my 8125 i can overclock it to 299 with no problem at all. So its trial and error. try it out and see what you can get.
Hi,
i can how update ROM and Windows Mobile but my problem is wrong connector on my phone. I testing so many cable and OS but never sync. My friend say: You need new connector.
I don't know. I find solutions without usb cable.
goto www.accessorygeeks.com and order the ORIGINAL HTC USB to mini USB DATA SYNC cable....
the problem is that there are mini usb cables out there but they only charge not transfer data... they look exactly the same... but the data transfer cable has one more wire inside for transerring data so it can work with ur ACTIVE SYNC...
It happened to me for over a year til someone told me...sheesh..now I was able to update my MDA and even root it
Good luck

If you post a picture of it, it would be easier to help you out.
Or, you can go ahead and buy a y cable off ebay. It's only about $5

if it is charging.....then the pins for the data transfer in the mini-USB cable is not connected.....AFAIK, I think there are no tricks....
one trick is to get yourself a new data cable....
Whenever I connect my HTC One device to my computer via USB, sometimes my PC recognizes it. At other times, however, the USB connection disconnects. It's as if there is a loose connection between the cable and HTC One device. Is there a way to fix this? Or should I replace the cable?

Might be a cable, or it might be an issue with the USB port itself. Not that the USB port is faulty, mind you, just simply that the phone doesn't "like" it. For instance, if I plug my phone using OEM/non-OEM cables into a blue USB3.0 port in the back of my motherboard, I can't use fastboot/ADB commands. However, if I plug it into a pink USB port(supposed to be used by my keyboard/mouse), then there's no problems.
