I bought a wizard from a guy who got it from T-mobile US, so it's a T-mobile branded wizard. I want to upgrade my ROM version, so I read the guide and it says that I should do some steps untill I my spl and ipl are 2.26. My wizard's spl and ipl are 2.26 already (gsm02.25.11, os2.26.10.2) so I want to know if i'm ready to upgrade my ROM without a CID unlock and downgrading to 1.05 ROM (That guy may have done that, but I don't have a clue...)

Since you don't have a clue, then you need to carry on reading.
There are threads in here about CID unlocking, and also in the wiki (links at the top of the page).
It's better to understand what you are asking for help on if you can't follow the instructions, than to follow someone blindly in case you miss a step they assumed you knew.
It's an expensive device to brick if you don't know what you're tring to do.

Hello, i have read a Lot of Threads by now, but still dont see a real flashing guide. I would need some help.
My Mda Vario is T-Mobile Germany Branded and its data is:
IPL: 1.06
SPL: 1.06
GSM: 01.12.10
OS 1.6.2.1
As far as i can see, i have an G3.
I have Sim-Unlocked it on the first day i bought it, so my question is, its most likey CID Unlocked too if i sim unlocked it ?
If not, i have to downgrade and use Lokiwiz, right?
Next Question besides the how-to Flash is what i should do before the First Flash and for the First Flash of my Phone.
I want to flash for RUU_Molski.Biz_AKU2.3-226102_22610105_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2.exe

I have read these threads already, actually they are opened in my Opera for questions i can think of. But i still dont really get it, the threads are a bit loaded with things you dont need i think.
But i stillt dont really get it and since i dont want to damage my phone, i wanted to have some help for my first flash first.
Use Lokiwiz 0.2b to CID-unlock your phone. Then you could flash it with any ROM for a G3 device out there.

Since you wanted to upgrade to a ROM with EXE, all the instruction will be on the EXE and will be displayed once you execute it. No sweat upgrading using an EXE.

Also, sometimes the "flashing" process seems to "hang" in the upper 90's%...just have patience and wait, the installs/flashing will normally complete.

Hi! my phone is dead.
I had installed xpl and changed ipl to 3.08 and spl to 3.08 and the wizard could not work. After I installed this rom (CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE) my ipl turned to 1.01 and my spl stayed as it was, 3.08. Now the wizard doesn't work and I can't enter the menu.
Please, someone help me!!!!!!!!!!!

read the stickies. They have the information you need. Of particular interest is the definitive guide to unlocking and upgrading G3 Wizards. You know the one at the top that says [READ FIRST] in this forum?
Don't skip any steps. Even if you don't think you need to do it, do it anyways.
try to put it in bootloader manually and load the a different ROM.

If your phone can get to the bootloader then try flashing the official rom from your carrier. If that doesn't work then flash the Wizard Love rom.

If you still have problems then you need to tell us more details (exactly what you've tried, exactly what happened, exactly what error messages, exactly what IPL/SPL you are currently at, etc). Little short messages saying its stuck, or I need help don't tell us enough to diagnose what is happening or what the solution might be.

Did you notice how short your details are as compared to the solutions. It pissed people off trying to help you. The 'all the solutions and the steps' aren't details enough.
Anyway, your unit seems to be CID locked? Have you tried dreamteam3x's solution?
If people stopped answering your questions, you only have yourself to blame.

FWIW: I looked and didn't see the solution you are talking about, and the images behind your text make this very hard to read (IMO). Sorry to go off topic, but post a direct link to the solution you are talking about and you may want to lighten the background images...

Thank you for the wealth of information that I asked for... (read my post about providing details and exactly what happened and all). If you want help, you have to tell us more.
Biggest issue I see right now is your haveing IPL 1.xx and SPL of 3.xx. you have to get both of them down to 1.xx and CID Unlock that phone. But the SPL of 3.xx may cause you problems (I still for the life of me don't understand why people think they have to have the highest version numbers). To be honest, I'm not sure you can downgrade from 3.xx to 1.xx directly.

I started a new thread so that people wouldn't have to read through my trials but long story short I have a G3 wizard and I'm trying to flash it. Followed all of the steps in the guide by vippie. I used the button rom to start with but mine was one of the many that stopped at 98% and gave me error 302 so I ended up using the XDA mini rom as the alternative that was suggested.
Now I've flashed my phone three times with the same rom to try and get the IPL and SPL the same but to no avail. The IPL and SPL are 1.05 and 2.25 respectively. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
hey i flashed my tmobile mda to a chinese rom too and then it changed spl to a diff version than the ipl and then i tried to flashed it with love rom and still it doesnt change the ipl and spl to the same version that i had before, then i removed the battery then my phone does not charge or turn on anymore, i have a g4 by the way, i m not sure if i bricked it or not

Surely you're not serious? oh Jesus, you are.
OK... SPL is separate from IPL, not only is it impossible to get them to be "the same version" it would also achieve nothing to actually do so either... so please, the procedure is very simple, you flash a patched SPL, you flash your crap on. Job Done... I thought there was already a patched SPL for G3... do I need to make one of those as well?!?

Well that seems logical however I was misinformed. SO I've flashed this Xda_mini rom, then what is the cause of the issues I was having getting a connection error when trying to CID unlock? Wizards have to be CID unlocked before flashing 2.X roms right?
What started as a simple, objective thread, has become quite confusing in a matter of a few posts.

Well, in fact your problem ISN'T the same as SharpieMarker's because his phone is still alive...
I believe you tried to downgrade a G4 to 1.xx bootloader which only exist for G3. Once the battery came out your phone could never boot again. Say bye bye to it...

A LOT of people are reporting failed downgrades which 'block' the SPL at 2.xx. Once there even after 30 flashes the SPL never lowers to 1.xx to allow CID unlocking.
No solution is known until now...

The HardSPL (Olipro) is ONLY for use with G4. The flash program should keep you from flashing it to a G3 Wizard because their SPL code are not compatible.
SoftSPL also doesn't work for G3 wizard.
joco2560 should be produced a brick because as I know, no unofficial Chinese ROMs are equipped with G4 IPL and SPL.
Man if only these guys would have read the WIKI... There is a link in my signature to an outstanding tutorial for newbies. Just read it and you will feel enlightened. Everything will seem so simple and life's purpose will become evident... Just Kidding but seriously guys... Read the damn WIKI... I'm tired of reading about bricks.

Okay, firstly I have not bricked my device. I have read all of the guides and walkthroughs before attempting anything on my wizard. Unfortunately your guide that you have written, just like the other ones, has not answered my question or told me what I should do (unless I have missed it somewhere which is possible).
Okay, after some finagling with the lokiwiz application I managed to unlock and then cid unlock my phone however the IPL is still 1.05 and the SPL is 2.25. Is that accurate or should the SPL be lower now? Do I need to reflash?

If lokiwiz does not show any errors during unlocking (NOTE That lokiwiz always shows successful regardless it is actually unlocked or not, so the error message is the most important), then either try to flash Button's ROM again and you will get 1.05 IPL and SPL (That's my way), and others suggests to upgrade IPL and SPL directly to 3.08.

There was no error message when I CID unlocked. It successfully unlocked both times (the first using the U command and after a restart using the C command). My phone restarted twice during the unlocking so I think it went just fine. So should I proceed with the flashing of the tmobile rom? After the unlocking I have an IPL of 1.05 and an SPL of 2.25.
You can always go back to Button's ROM, so it's OK to flash T-Mobile ROM.
However I still recommend to flash Button's ROM once more first.

Well I decided to flash the t-mobile rom and it went smooth. Everything works fine. So now I have an IPL and SPL of 2.26 so I can flash some of the more interesting roms right? Thanks for all the help and advice guys. Much appreciated.

Yes you should now be CID unlocked and can flash any Rom you want as long as it does not contain an IPL/SPL.
And by the way, It does tell you in that WIKI exactly what you need to do to CID unlock your device. (The SPL will not downgrade to 1.05 unless you flash the button Rom again AFTER completing The Unlocking Process through lokiwiz. I wouldn't even reccomend flashing the button Rom again. It's pointless because Flashing the T-Mobile Rom is going to upgrade you IPL/SPL to a higher, matching pair and is going to give you a very strong, stable base rom to flash to a custom Rom From.

I think you should check your CID status with WST before trying to flash a custom ROM. Lokiwiz doesn't check for errors and proceeds as if everything went ok even if it didn't.
For all we know your phone might be originally from T-Mobile and even CID locked would always accept an official ROM.
i tried to update my wm5 to wm6 rc1 to my wiza200 (t mobile)
i followed all instructions as in Rc1 thread but this is what happened
my phone unlocked
cid unlocked
i upgrade the IPL/SPL to 3.08 both
but when try to install wm6 rc1 or any other wm6 it still give me the erorr 302
i tried to downgrade to IPL/SPL 2.26 but i failed all the times
please help me i lost every thing
please hellllp me i want either to install the WM6 or go back to tmobile wm5
note the only os can be installed on is WM6 ANTC V2.0 but it shows wm5 on my ppc i really confused here please help

FIRST-- Please do not make repeated posts, you posted this same damned thread in the Wizard/Wizard section and again in the Wizard/Wizard upgrading section. It is New Years Eve, people are out partying rather than sitting on xda, if someone comes online and can answer they will.
SECONDLY-- the big font is rather annoying (see what I mean, by my post here)
Finally-- good luck. BTW, if you flash back to a stock rom then make sure you have followed all the unlocking steps EXACTLY, you should be able to flash any rom after the stock rom. And while I am not sure, but if you were able to flash a custom rom, then it is WM6, even if it reads WM5 somewhere.
PS- I believe error 302 has something to do with unlocking the phone...you may not be unlocked. You need to be CID unocked. Read the unlocking sticky carefully and after reflashing a stock rom, make certain you have cid unlocked your phone (as I stated above)...get into the bootloader mode and make sure you use a STOCK rom.
Your phone isn't completely unlocked, go to the unlocking sticky thread and read on how to unlock your phone there. Also, please don't make giant text sizes, that shows impatience and it's just plain rude.
