The second bit!
USB>info 3 HTCSå»HTCE
USB>info 3 HTCS™5mHHTCE
USB>info 3 HTCSGÒf€HTCE
OK.. so tell me thats normal?? info 3 gives wierd stuff out evey time i ask the command!
USB>rtask b (any way to get in without the security check?)
Radio AT command debug with security check.

Maybe i need a custom Bootloader..
After spending DAYS going through the Wiki, various internet sites, about 5000 posts.. I think i am going to need help from Helmi or Buzz...
Is there any way of removing the security flag, and making the device supercid ??

Trying to upgrade O2 IIs to I-mate (or stable)-need advice

I've spent hours going through the beginner's guide and have searched all over for this. I'm confused because I've seen different answers and explanations to this so would appreciate some advice.
I'm running an O2 Asia IIs on the latest ROM and I'm sick of the lack of stability and the need to reset it 2-3 times a day. So, I've decided to change ROMs, and have been recommended the iMate ROM (although if anyone else knows of other reliable ROMs then let me know)
My device from getdevicedata is:
PH20B 0 B WWE E O2ASI001 1.40.00 0 0 1.40.923 1.12.00 12.00
Where I'm stuck and scared of moving forwards is: I've tried running the xda3nbftool against PDA2k_WWE_14000_176_11200 but it keeps saying that the password is wrong. I've discovered that I need to run it with the -t option against the nbf files to get the passwords out so I tried that, but there's no password for the radio_.nbf file. And then after I've modified the editfix batch file with the updated passwords for the ms_.nbf file and the nk.nbf file, it still says that the password could be wrong the first time (subsequent runs don't say this however).
Then I saw the info about the "TYPE II" methodology, so I am confused and don't want to risk having a phone that is dead or unusable for a period of time because I chose to do it the wrong way - I want to do this the right way and have honestly checked everything I can think of to get this working - if someone could set me on the right path it would be great.
Thanks
simopimo
I'm using the O2 Asia ROM, on my PDA2k, before of the dodgy i-Mate Bluetooth Headset Problems

Vodafone WWE (Brightpoint´s Update Center)
why don't you guys first look at wiki ?
thanks xplode,
I have already downloaded and tried this withouot success.
I can't use it on my device for various errors.
I need only the radio rom (radio_.nbf file) for use with MaUpgradeUt_noID(this is the only tools that I can use on my device without errors.
Do u know How I can extract/found the radio rom from this complete update file(*.exe)?
MY DEVICE DATA ACTUALLY IS THIS:
PH20B 0 B WWE E 1.40.00 0 0
MY DEVICE TYPE IS THIS:
VODAFONE V1620(ORIGINALLY LOCKED [TO VODAFONE UK I SUPPOSE])

OK i know you are new.. and maybe, just maybe a bit nervous because you have a device you cant use..
READ THE DAMN WIKI ALREADY!
There are so many ways to upgrade a rom, or extract it,
Let me give you a little hint.. Use that really bright shiny search button up there.. (ok so its not bright and shiny, but it is there!)
Press the down arrow, choose advanced search,
then type in MaUpgradeUt_noID,
then make sure that the forum is BlueAngel (on the right!)
then hit search...
That will bring all the posts with the words MaUpgradeUt_noID in the BlueAngle section of the forum.
There will be on that explains how to extract the radio for a released update..
and how to install it using MaUpgradeUt_noID instead of the other installers.
Multiple posting is stoopid.. This is the 3rd post i have seen from you regarding your device that you could have solved using your own head, and searching for the answer istead of sitting on your backside waiting for someone to post the link to solve all your problems.
I know this sounds harsh, and scarcastic, and a tad evil... EVERYTHING I HAVE LEARNED ABOUT A HTC DEVICE, I HAVE LEARNED FROM THIS SITE,
and reading the wiki, and google, and all kinds of other services...
there is no shame in asking for help.. just exhaust all other options first!

O2 XDA IIs Unlocking problem: is it dead?!

Hi All,
I tried to unlock my O2 XDA IIs using the instructions on this site but it failed and now my device says 'Serial' at the top of the screen and 'v2.07' at the bottom. It changes to USB when I plug it back into the cradle.
While what I'm about to write may seem ungrateful, it really isn't, I am most grateful for help I've received in the past from this site (I'm ugrading from and XDA II that I unlocked with your help!), but I've found the Blue Angel unlocking / upgrading advice impossible to understand because there is a lot of assumed knowledge in the instructions.
Just to say that I'm approaching this from a background of nearly 10 years as an IT administrator but have little knowledge of the way these particular devices work.
The instructions here are easy to understand until you get to line 2:
If you Have a Universal Read this
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index..._Buzz_and_team
if you ave a Hermes Read this
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...rmes_SimUnlock
Click to collapse
How can you tell? I have no idea how and the instructions don't elaborate.
After a lengthy search on the Internet I decided I had a Hermes device (because the majority of sites that mentioned the XDA IIs did so under the 'Hermes' catagory, but not all of them!) so I downloaded, unpacked and ran HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3.zip
This got as far as the ROM UPDATE screen, where I expected to see the progress increase from 0%, but after 30 minutes the progress on the PC was 0% and my XDA IIs screen reads:
0
96
Up
grade
I
mage
Com
pleted
Click to collapse
So two things really:
Please could a kind soul tell me if my XDA IIs is now dead (I suspect it's not but just needs a ROM loaded)
Also perhaps the instructions need to be updated so that Newbies can understand the jargon and have the assumed knowledge explained. It's so easy when you know what you're doing, but often very difficult to explain that to someone who doesn't.
As I say - this is in no way meant to be a whinge - simply a constructive criticism I'd be really grateful for any help anyone could give!
Many thanks
Simon R.
If you say your devise is an XDA IIs then it is a Blue Angel and not a Hermes or Universal! They are three different machines. Go to the first page of the XDA-Wiki and you will get a description of each product produced by HTC, with a photo and description of each one also. You cant go wrong. Once you establish which yours really is then follow the instructions from that page

Hence the confusion! Hey, *many* thanks
I've just done that and loaded the latest radio ROM into the device so now it turns on and behaves like it should.
HOWEVER the Wiki (This Page) says that unlocking is simpy a case of downloading xdadev_all_unlock-v1.5.exe and running it on the device.
This I've done but it returns the error 'An error occurred while unlocking your phone.
GAH! Scrap that! I tried it again and it worked!
So: it seems to be that you need to run the xdadev_all_unlock-v1.5.exe file a couple of times. I wonder if the status of the rario on the device has anything to do with it? I noticed that the first time I ran it the radio turned off so perhaps the unlock worked with the radio off. This is the log file incase anyone finds it useful in the future I think I ran the .exe file 3 or 4 times, hence the multiple entries in the file:

Radio Update error at 32% on VPA III !

My Radio Update sucks at 32% with Error 114 ! Want to Upgrade from 1.06 to 1.15 ! I also tried lower Versions, but always the same ! It goes to 32% fine, and then i will get the Error ! I have read all the Wiki and tried all files from xda ! Downgrade from 6.5 to WM2003 also made, but there are same Problem. Now i get the message no GSM at start ! What can i do ? Please help me !
What OS are you using to flash, because you will experience problems if you use anything but XP.
but in my experience, after trying to upgrade with vista or 7 it aborts once and then never lets you start an upgrade process again because of the new drivers, it wouldn't stop at the same point every time. that's why i didn't ask that question
Thanks for your answers friends ! But i did it all at Win XP ! I can also flash every firmware without probs, but with the radio it stops ever at 32% ! Is there a chance to bring any radio rom to the VPA ??
when you have tried so much, that you are really fed up, maybe you want to try mtty. i am not an expert when it comes to that, but it is like a command prompt or powershell to do about everything with your device, you can format it completely and then re-flash it with a radio rom and a normal rom, that's what i would do next, because there must be something about that 32%, maybe there is still something of a corrupted radio in there, that can't be deleted by the normal flashing because that is a straight forward input process.
if you want to give it a try, look it up in the wiki i really can't say much about it, as i never tried it.
Thanks Tony ! Yes i would take a look at the mtty ! I have found mtty and followed the instructions ! Set 14 0 then task 28 then task 0 ! But always the same, it hang up at 32% ! Here my log from mtty 1.42 !
set 14 0
HTCST عبزHTCEUSB>task 28
DOC_format_HW+
DOCInfoTableinitHW+
Binary0:dwSize=80000
BINFS0:dwSize=0
FAT0:dwSize=1000000
FAT1:dwSize=2BA0000
All:dwSize=3C20000
USB>task 0
USB>
After this i made a reset and tried to flash Radio. Error 114 at 32% !
Someone have a new tip ??
sorry for my english,
