I know this subject has been talked to death but I thought I would conduct a survey regarding the "missed call with no notification" issue that some users have been experiencing. The goal of this survey is to calculate the approximate % chance of getting the missed calls bug while using various component versions. It could be used as a reference for new users or users looking to upgrade.
This survey is open to all, both with and without the missed call issue and everyone is encouraged to respond. If I can get enough replies I will try to post the statistics.
The survey goes as follows:
1. What ROM version* are/were you using?
2. What radio version are/were you using?
3. Who is your service provider?
4. How frequently were the missed calls?
a)Frequently (daily)
b)Occasionally (a couple times a week)
c)Rarely (maybe once or twice)
d)None that I am aware of
*For custom ROMS please indicate AKU version.
A typical reply would be:
1. 10.1.0.811 WM6 MB Edition
2. 2.61
3. Cingular
4. C
or
1. 2.25 Stock Cingular
2. 2.25
3. Cingular
4. D
You may submit multiple entries for different component versions. Thanks for your participation!
1. 2.26.10.2 WWE AKU 2.3
2. 2.47
3. T-Mobile
4. B
Then changed to:
1: 2.26.10.2 WWE AKU 2.3
2: 2.25
3: T-Mobile
4: B
Then changed to
1: 2.26.10.2 WWE AKU 2.3

Hi Guys, I am sorry but I could not read the forum since a long time, I also tried to read as much as I can this morning, thread on rom version, but i am Confused
Which rom I NEED ? since actually I have
ROM Version: 1.22.00 WWE
ROM Date: 10/22/2004
Radio version: 1.06.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.22.126 WWE
It is a Qetk ROM WWE on a FRE Qetk
I would love to be up to date but could not figure out what rom to use
Thanks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=81244#81244
looks like the only thing up can do is upgrade radio
your extended ROM is different from mine? you got a 162 and I got a 126, is there any big difference? Also regarding the Radio worth it to upgrade my Qetk?
Thanks
Daimaou
The way I understand it so far is that the version number of an exteneded rom is based on the carrier.
What I am saying is that just because I-mate has a Extrom 1.22.999
does not mean that it is higher than Qtek Extrom 1.22.111
all it says it that for I-Mate 999 would be a Higher version than I-Mate 1.22.555
What I have found out is that there are 4 types of cabs in the exteneded rom.
1) Upagrade and patches that build on the OS in this case 1.22.
2) Carrier settings, such as splash screens and MMS setings.
3) Free software such as zip and the PDF reader
4) Hardware upgrades like buuton9 which is only avalible on a Pocket pc that has a Hardware keyboard.
Thus my pratice is to leave the exteneded rom as is and cook it later.
Thanks so far since I don't have to complain of the present situation, I will leave everything as it is and wait for a new 1.XX rom
Hi All,
After being a user of an SPV m2000 (HTC Blue Angel) for over a year, I've unfortunately decied I need a "proper" phone, and have now got the Motorola v3i as well.
However, shortly before i upgraded, I got a replacement SPV, with an upgraded rom set from my original one - details below.
Couple of questions:
1. Are these upgrades useful to anyone, or are they readily available out here anyway?
2. Is it possible to dump ALL of them in one go to my older SPV?
Details on ROMs follow:
_____________OLD SPV________________New SPV
Oper. Vers.____5.31.00wwe____________5.40.1.179
ROM vers._____1.31.00wwe____________1.40.00 wwe
ROM date______12/13/05______________03/10/05
Radio Vers._____1.06.02_______________1.06.02
Prot. Vers.______1337.38_______________1337.38
ExtROM Ver_____1.31.124 wwe__________1.40.179wwe
Feedback / details / requests for upload - all for the asking!
PS - just like to say a big thanks to all the experts here that helped me along the way. Now maybe I can give something back!

i tried Second Methord Type I (EASY )
now should i try the HArder method? what wud u say?
dont use 1.15 with w5 if you live/work in a low signal area, your phoe will be practiacally unuseable, try 1.13, however if you live in a goodsignal area 1.15 if your best choice
To flash it on your phone try using it with the no-id tool.
ty
i m in good signal area
successfully upgraded to 1.15
Voice command is giving me problems
microsoft voice command 1.5
I have a T-Mobile MDA and am wondering if it is advantageous for me to upgrade my ROM.
So first my info:
ROM Version: 1.8.10.2 WWE
ROM date: 12/10/05
Radio Version: 01.09.10
Protocol Version: 4.0.13.20
ExtROM Version: 1.8.10.104
Will upgrading my ROM help improve performance significantly?
I've seen ROMs from official releases (T-Mobile [US & UK], O2, Orange, Cingular, etc...) and custom ROMs (ie. Molski's)...
Are the custom ROMs better to use? Are they safe to use?
I've been looking at the latest Cingular 8125 ROM from the htcamerica.net site... Would I be able to install that one on my T-Mobile MDA?...
If I were to upgrade the ROM, and say, I didn't like it, would a hard reset return me to my "base" T-Mobile ROM?
Thank you, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here's an idea
First, if you upgrade your rom, it becomes the base; a hard reset returns you to it with no additional software. Most of the difference between similar aku roms (e.g. aku 2.6) is in the added software in the extended rom.
There was a noticeable performance boost going to 2.6.
One thing you might consider is using the xelencin T-Mobile rom, which has a limited number of customizations. Personally I am running the stock 2.6 T-Mobile, but then I don't install most of the customizations that come with it. My list of installed programs, and the method using total commander, can be found
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=272613
I now run only
MP_CVSDcpl_20060220.cab (96KB) (voicetagcpl.cpl)
MP_SmartDialing_enable_0915_signed.CAB (76KB) (Enable smart dialing)
P_Other_Conn_Settings.CAB (4KB) GPRS, SMS registry settings
P_SecurityPolicy.CAB (73KB)
PP_GPRSandEGDE_DTMF.CAB (71KB) Fix for DTMF tone dialing problem?, sets EnableDTMFSupport and different edge, GPRS icons
TMOUS_Camera_Profile_reg_0414_signed.CAB (71KB) camera update
This will not install the MMS stuff, hotspot, etc.
This has an advantage of allowing you to experiment easily.
I just got my T-Mobile MDA from eBay. However it seems pretty slow. After reading the ROM upgrades threads, I want to ask if there is a ROM out there that has T-Mobile stuff integrated? Also, what else can I upgrade from the list below:
ROM Version: 2.26.10.2 WWE
Radio Version: 02.25.11
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.12
ExtROM version: 2.26.10.105

@tariq_niazi - For fun why not keep this ROM (as it's the latest T-Mobile) and install Molski's two registry cabs? Will make a world of difference with little work on your part (and it's still stock)
http://www.molski.biz Look for HTC Wizard and then My Cab Files.
(btw, site isn't IE friendly, suggest you use Firefox)

If the Java menu does not work (if no Java is installed or using IE7) you can click a button to change the menu into a PHP menu that works 100%

How in the world did you first overclock your phone to such high frequency? And secondly is the WM Crossbow stable and where did you get it from?
