Hi,
I am new on the forum and i have been reading about unlocking the I-mate K-jam (WIZA200). I upgraded my ROM version a few days ago, and then my phone got "blacklisted" by my service provider last night. I have been using the phone for two months now, and i bought it from a second hand shop.
How do i unlock it so that it's not blacklisted anymore? I love the phone and can't afford to loose it.
Any help? I tried using Lokiwiz03a and it gave me 16 zeros as the lock status, and SIMLOCK code were just symbols.
Thanks alll

You will not be able to un-blacklist it with any tools here. The tools here are for unlocking or upgrading the unit. Blacklisting takes place at your provider. You will need to talk to them. Most likely it is blacklisted because it was stolen from its original owner. Is the second hand shop you bought it from reputable? It may be as simple as getting a new sim card from your provider, if your sim was just disabled. But if they banned the IMEI then you are most likely out of luck as far as using it as a phone. You should still be able to use it as a PDA though.

If it's a G4 then completely forget about it. No solution exists!
The best to do is report the guy who sold you the phone or to sell it abroad since the blacklists are not shared internationaly

A few more questions
Thanks Mestrini. What about the software that imei-check.co.uk are selling? Would that work seeing that there is no free software existing?

No it wouldn't work because they do not want to (understandable from the company's point) and they even have a warning on their web about their products not being fit to change IMEI on handsets.
cheers

I used the lokiwiz tool to unlock the phone and used it to CID unlock. Is there a way to lock it back? I'm being shipped a new T-Mobile Dash(aka HTC Excalibur) because my MDA has been broke out of the box. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Note: G3 version of phone and all original ROM and OS loads still on phone.
I believe there is an option to lock your device in the Loki tool. Should be option "L" if I'm not mistaken.

As long as you have tmobile software installed there is no need to re lock your phone. Just use the ROM from the tmobile website

Absolutely correct...TMo not smart enough to figure it out.
Oh, well, if you think I can leave it unlocked I won't worry about it. It still has the original T-Mo ROM from when I got it, and that's the whole reason I'm getting a free upgrade to the T-Mobile Dash from them (the HTC Excalibur). Heh. Oh well, eh?

Ive done it with no problem. I became friends with one of the Tmobile people and they told me all they do is check to see what software is on it. Checking to see if its unlocked takes "allegedly" too much time to do on a mass level. Especialy if you have the mini usb broken
Heya all, well i just menage to finally buy a new g1 off ebay been trying for awhile now but finally got one for the right price but the thing is.. being new its locked to t-mobile now from what i have found there are only two way's of unlocking both are via unlock codes and from what I've read i can get it free from t-mobile but i also believe you have to of been a t-mobile customer for 2 months plus or something any you guys know if this is true?
The other option is to get one of these websites that give you unlock codes has anyone used these could you if possible tell me what sites are genuine and safe to use?
Another thing is there any other way's of unlocking the phone?? that i have missed? i haven't actually got it yet but its being posted as we speak..
Hope this is the right place to post this and cheers for you input ;D

T-mobile will give it free if your a longstanding customer. If you want to buy it, buy it from ebay. There is another thread in this section (actually more like 20, one of which has a link)
Yea they wont give you the code unless you have been a customer for 90 days or more. The site I used was http://www.unlock-tmobileg1.com it took about 10 hours for the code to arrive, they have detailed instructions on how to register an ATT APN so you can do the initial google setup too. I think they offer codes in 2 hours now, but either way its a good site and I think its just over 20 bucks, like 22 or 23. I looked on ebay but it didn't have a good feel to it, for me anyway.
edit: One great thing about using it on att is that they wont know its a smartphone because its not in there system so you can use the $15/month dumb phone unlimited data plan and it works great, I have been using it for about 3 months now, only downside is att and tmobile use different 3G bands so it is impossible to get 3G with att.
Only use unlock sites who people here say they have used. Don't be fooled by some of them which are *very* cheap (as in, a quater or the cost of most), these will normally tell you *how* to unlock your phone (call t-mobile or buy a code, but they dont give you the code).
I bought my code of eBay, that way you can look at there feed back and you know that the testimonies on their flashy website aren't fake.
Cool cheers guys thought that'd be the case phone still hasn't arrived yet so until then...

Some unlocks can be done for free using a custom ROM flash. The operating system is only setup to bar off any non-TMobile sims, so do a flash, and bang, that SIM restriction should be gone.
I have never heard of any rom unlocking the phone, the carrier lock is much deeper in the phone, hence why you dont lose your unlock status when you switch rom's. I did a ton of searching before I unlocked my G1 and never saw anything like what you speak of, I had already rooted and flashed 3 or 4 different roms when my phone was still locked and it never made a difference, so could you please provide a link to this type of rom? And just so you know, in your sig you list phone OS's but what you are talking about is rom's as the only OS for the G1 is Android.

I don't think that's right either. I've heard quite a few people say that after rooting and flashing a non-tmo ROM their SIM was still locked...

He might be confused with something else because of all the smartphones I have had I've never heard a rom to unlock your sim/carrier. I wish there was though but if you think about it you would never be able to change your rom because you would lose the unlock status.

lol, don't waste your time.....there's no coeds to be had for this, its predominantly locked to O2 or Vodafone, so cannot be Sim Unlocked. I've tried many times since this phone was released.

Nope. You can't trust people now a days, don't risk it and waste your time.
i wouldn't even think about unlocking it. These days most people don't need to unlock them, last person i spoke to about unlocking my salsa didn't even know what it was let alone have software for them....
Internet unlocks will rip you off. I did it once on an old Nokia 5000, got the code...same as the free sites, didn't work. Couldn't get a refund either.....my advice is, want the phone sim unlocked, buy a phone on the network your on!
Problem is the fone is from a relative from abroad. Its lock to vodafone. The only carrier here in the philippines are globe, sun and smart. Thats why i need to unlock the fone. Its was recently given to me.

I just received a warranty replacement for my HTC One that had a faulty digitizer and like my original handset I'm trying to unlock it so that I can use it with a different carrier.
My original handset was a very easy £2.99 unlock on ebay, but using the same service for my replacement I'm told that no unlock code is available for my IMEI on any of the 'servers' the seller tried.
So my question is.... before I go ahead any pick another unlocking service at random, wait 24hrs and get nothing again, does anyone have any recommendations for a website that will get the job done?
Cheers

There are at least 2 possibilities:
your phone is too new, databases are not updated yet for your IMEI (have to wait)
or
your device is not simlocked.

Its deffo simlocked as it spat out my 3 sim. My guess then is that its too new because it was a warranty replacement.
What sort of timeframe am I looking at to get it unlocked?
I asked o2 if they would unlock it but they want me to have the phone for a year, the mother*%*&£&*. Its not like I didn't just pay £500 for it
Hi guys.
I went through a lot of web sites past couple of months and now I've decided to ask you by myself. I got a present from my GF. Sam Gal S5.
She bought it on a craiglist. She tried it with her AT&T SIM card and it worked. Anyway.. she gave it to me. SIM card denied. I've paid $30 to get a code to unlocked.. Great. Buy what was my surprise. After I got in and made a couple of phone calls to providers I find out that the phone is blacklisted. I tried to get ATT sim card also but doesnt work.
So I started to look for an advice... Ive done root, changed ROM etc. But now... i dont know where else to look.
Obviously it was stolen. But I feel sorry for her and she for me...
Is that just a piece of garbage or is there ANY way to fix it?
I dont even know if im able to ask here.
Any advice or opinions helps.
Thank you
Mike
I think you're kinda screwed...Craigslists scams happen all the time..best bet if your gonna buy a phone on there is to both meet at the AT&T store and go through the whole transfer process.

The official reply from carriers is that once a phone is blacklisted it is impossible to undo. Whether or not it's a limitation of the technology (one-way trip) or if it's just company policy, the output is the same. You and your girlfriend have learned an expensive lesson. You can use it as a wi-fi-only device or a media player, but once a phone is blacklisted it will never be able to connect to a cellular network again.
The reason the phone worked with your girlfriend's SIM card was because the real owner of the phone hadn't called to report the phone stolen yet.

Mike, your situation stinks so bad. I was in a similar spot with a T-Mobile HTC M8, which stopped working after I got it off craigslist and then subsequent IMEI checks shows that it is blocked/blacklisted from T-Mobile's network due to a balance owing from the original purchaser. However, since the phone was not reported stolen, the IMEI is not actually blacklisted/blocked from all carriers, but only T-Mobile. So I bought the SIM unlock code for a few bucks online so that I could unlock the phone for other carrier use. I have tested and verified that my phone works on AT&T, even though it is blocked on T-Mobile. So...you might consider changing your carrier or selling it to someone who can use it on another carrier (with full disclosure to that buyer, of course).
