Anyone having an issue with GTalk?

Keeps logging me out without me knowing it... and when I open it, its showing a lot of people offline. A simple sign out and sign in fixes it, but wow its annoying. Anyone have a clue why my phone would be doing this?

Which client are you using?
I had issues with the Samsung IM client that I downloaded from Samsung Mobile onto my phone. The reason why I use that client is that I can use it with both my Google Talk and MSN IM clients. I was having issues with it earlier this week - I could "sign in", but everybody was of "unknown" status.
Seems to be working now.
Oh yah, I'm on a SGH-i896 (Rogers Captivate S)

I am finding that my phone loses connection with GTalk fairly consistently, no matter the number of bars that I have. I am using the Google GTalk client.

Google Talk won't stay signed in

Google talk will not stay signed in, or is randomly disconnecting and reconnecting later. I've checked my sync and power settings it shouldn't be an idle issue or data connection problem because i have full signal. I didn't have this issue with the Aria?
anyone else having this?

So am I the only one? Did I get a defective device?

is it giving you any kind of error message? I had that problem ALL THE TIME with my blackberry torch. It kept logging me out saying internal error. That's honestly one of the reasons i got the android. So google apps would work right. I've not had any issues with my google talk. Have you tried logging in with another account just to see if it makes any difference?

no error at all, i lauch the app and it either greys out and i have to back out and lauch again to get the signing in message or i get the signing in message.
I never had these issues with my Aria, i wondered if this version (with the camera/voice options) might have a bug?
tried multiple accts same issue.
i called HTC and the guy said hit home screen instead of backing out of the app to force it to keep running but that did no good. he also asked if i had a task manager and I said only the htc one that came with the phone. He said android comes with that now???? anyway i told the htc one to not start on startup just to see if that was causing any issues but no change.
i still randomly get disconnected from gtalk.

I don't know what to suggest then, that's strange Until we get root it'd be kind of hard to "mess up" an app like that. So I have no idea why it won't stay connected. Maybe take it into an AT&T store, show them, and ask for a new one? IDK if that'd work or not...

Do you have juicedefender? Cus it will disconnect it when u lock ur device

no, i don't use that.
in fact, i went through all (i could find) htc/android setting making sure it wasn't a power setting turning off my data or something crazy like that.

Been having the same issue on my inspire for months. Annoying as hell. Tried clearing data and everything else. Just have to live with it.

I have had the same issue since day one.

Google Talk won't stay signed in except on wi-fi
I have a Galaxy S II w/ ICS 4.0.3 on T-mobile and have the same issues. I have done a master reset and have the issue still. I have 3 accounts on G Talk and all sign out when using network only but will stay signed in on wi-fi. It's annoying. I have also tried unchecking the "Away when screen off" box and still no luck.

I've moved on from the Aria, the Vivid and the S3 has not had this issue with me.

Google chrome issues?

Since earlier this week, google chrome has been almost unusable. I'm on windows 7, using chrome dev 19. It all started when I put chrome portable on a flash drive so I could use it at school. I would try to use it but it would eventually freeze up and suddenly close. At the time I figured it was just because of the schools strict software policy, but then the same thing started to happen at home. It closes without error and just asks if I want to restart. I tried reinstalling it to no avail. I also updated Shockwave flash. What can I do?

Try going through any extensions you may have installed one by one (meaning disable all of them then reenable them one by one until they are all reinstalled. If that doesn't fix it...uninstall Chrome completely and reinstall a different version than the Dev channel. Try Beta for awhile.
It may just be a bad update in the Dev channel....
It happened to me on my Chromebook.
Google record released a bad update to the Dev channel and my cr-48 became almost unusable until I booted a different version from a flash drive.
Wasn't me!! I didn't do it!

Yeah thanks it does seem to actually run with the extensions disabled. I will try the beta channel

TinyShark Downloader

I've been using version 11 on several Android devices for a while. As of last week this app no longer connects to the server, and using the manual reconnect option in TSD settings doesn't resolve the problem. The symptom is the same regardless of the device being used, so it appears as if TinyShark's server access has been blocked. Has anyone else using TSD experienced the same, know of any workaround, or have a similar app to recommend?

Thanks for the link! I searched all xda forums before posting and that thread did not appear, though it was posted earlier today. Anyway, 0.8 is the latest version, and it does connect. (I was wrong about the version number I was on.)

Unable to unlock via Windows 8.1 Preview

I created this thread to hopefully prevent someone else from wasting countless hours doing the same as me in troubleshooting driver issues.....
If you are running Windows 8.1 preview and trying to get Windows to properly recognise your phone in fastboot and failing at every turn.... Just use another PC without Windows 8.1 Preview and it will work fine....
I wasted hours uninstalling and reinstalling various drivers etc only to fine Windows was the problem the whole time.
Took me 20mins to unlock the phone on my other PC with just Windows 8.

I searched everywhere for a solution till I found some random topic elsewhere simply discussing this.
This should be mentioned at the OP of all the HOW TO ROOT guides etc. in my opinion.
