has anyone used a 3rd party battery if so please let me know how it works. this is the only 3rd party battery i could find but it sold out at the moment and it does not give a price but when i was on about a week ago it said $78.00

thanks
The price is back up but you have to remember that it comes with the battery charger. So you get both a battery and a charger.
They are still out-of-stock but we do have some coming in by sea. This means by the end of August we should have them. However, we are considering getting some by Air. If you think you'd like to be among the first, let me know and if there is enough interest, we'll have some flown in.

Mark,
I will be interested, so count me in for one
Sorry, I'm out of the office and away from the phone at the moment, is this a much higher capacity, and if so, by how much, will it be noticiably better?
Cheers.
Is it the same size as the standard battery? Can we get it without the charger?
Thanks for the info!

Awaiting your answers on the other thread. Let us know what's going on with these so we can get some orders placed, etc.
(Sorry, I was away for the weekend and didn't have internet access.)
The battery is 2400mAh while the OEM battery is 2200mAh (I think). This will give about 10% more capacity. But it does come with its own charger. I was just checking to see how many were immediately interested to see if we should wait until the ocean shipment arrives or should we bring in some by air. I will let you know soon what we decide.

So Mark, does it take up any additional space over the standard battery?

HTC X7500 VGA Cradle With Spare Battery 2200mAh
Im sorry to look like a killjoy or a spoilsport, but why paying 80$ for that battery which needs a specific charger (as from what I understood)
when for 71€ you can buy this superb HTC X7500 VGA Cradle With Spare Battery 2200mAh.
This still my own opinion and I respect yours

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the battery also charges while inside the phone like the stock battery. Why wouldn't it? Isn't the charger that comes with the battery so you can charge up your spare? Let me know guys because if BigDede is right, then it would suck.

I agree with you and it should charge in the phone and use the charger for either spare battery.
If it is like other Mugen/Lion offerings then the charger is a slot type that will charge both the OEM and the Mugen battery. It is not some proprietary offering that will plug into the Mugen. Think about it guys...it has to be pin compatible with the Athena and it's circuitry.

Greets,
As we have all probably learned, the Tilt EATS batteries; especially if you use Bluetooth or GPS.
I would like to just plug in my Tilt every morning when I arrive at work. However, I am concerned that I might hurt the batteries ability to hold a full charge, etc.
Based on other threads, when i got the phone, I immediately let it run down (rather than charging), and have had 4 or 5 complete drains (where it shuts itself off) before charging. I find starting up TomTom is a great way to get it to drain off.
Does anyone know if I can just plug it in every morning, regardless of the battery charge?
Thanks!
LiIon/LiPolymer batteries don't have memory effects and do not require conditioning. In fact, if you're using them you'll extend their life by keeping them topped off. Plug in whenever you like.
aye PerfAlbion is right - the downside is you lose some capacity over time no matter what you do - tradeoff of the technology im afraid
And actually, you have been hurting your battery letting it run down so many times. It's never a good idea to let it run down fully till the point when it shuts off.
Usually, a recondition is needed only after 3 months just so that the software remains caliberated with the battery and displays the correct charge.
Otherwise, the more you keep it plugged in, the better your battery will be.
Totally agree.
I got into the routine with back my Wizard of pluging the charger in every night. You never know when you may not have chance to top up!
Its my morning alarm clock also!
Does anybody know if you can get batteries for the kaiser/tilt that holds more charge?
Mine says 1350mAh. Can you get more than that?
Thanks,
Sebastian
Not sure but would be nice to know...
At this moment I carry a 'Power monkey' as a bckup supply in my case just for emergencies.
There are some extended batteries shipping, but I'm a bit wary. To increase charge density for these types of batteries, you have to increase their physical size. So unless the battery pack supplied has dead space in it, you'll likely have to replace the back on your phone to add significant capacity. I haven't seen any with that warning or sold with a replacement back.

Hi Farsquidge!

I saw some on Maplin's site but seem to have the wriong connector.

Personally, I just purchased a second battery and carry it with me in my laptop bag. The only time I've ever needed it is when I'm flying and using the phone for music/movies. And since it's "official" HTC gear, I never have to sweat a warranty replacement for the phone by using unapproved equipment.
But when I turn off 3G (which is always off unless I'm tethered/surfing), I'm getting between 8-12 hours on a charge with some decent usage. The one problem I had was the day with about 6 hours of phone calls.

there are standard size 1650 mAh batteries. Larger than that and they are not standard size and come with a new back panel to accommodate the added size.
There are a few threads in the "Kaiser accessories" forum regarding extended batteries. Take a look there.
You can find some on e-bay also.
I suspect someone will be along pointing you toward the SEARCH function shortly.

here is a good one, i will probably be ordering.
i mean SEDIO is really pricey, these well are 100 mah less, but like 1/6 the cost..
http://cgi.ebay.com/Battery-For-HTC...ryZ15034QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
seidio makes good quality batteries... personally, i would not consider the one in the link you posted because, if battery issues arise, you're pretty much stuck with the battery. conversely, with seidio, if the battery issues arise, i can send it back for a replacement (as long as it's within the warranty period). i've been using the Seidio 1500 mAh battery for 2+ weeks and it DOES provide more "up" time before a recharge is necessary...
i bought this battery only $6 w/ shipping so we will see.!

Great find. For $7 to my door its worth a try. Even if it isnt the fantastic it will make a great spare.
soo...?
anyone care to comment on how this battery actually performs or if it is having any problems? really interesting find...
thanks, Jim.
no the battery is great. I get through a normal day from around 8 am- 7 pm. on a full charge. BUt... i do use the phone.. Probably around 10-15 minutes of calling, 20 minutes of slingplayer mobile, 20 minutes of internet searching, 10-20 texts, read email once an hour, and listen to music w pocketplayer for X amount of time??? and i still have around 10-20 % battery life left at 6. Since i have the other battery, if im going out that night, i can just flip it out and its good, but for the whole work day and that amount of use (i have screen on full brightness as well.) it works great. When the screen is not fully bright i can get through the night easliy as well (hard to read in sunlight though...)
i also bought the digipower power extension (3400 mah battery pack) this is for skiing. I put it in my camelpack, and it lasts the entire ski day while playing music, with then some to spare. That is only $30 and its about the same size as the phone. The other great thing is that can also work for airplanes as well as it plugs into usb , so any usb device!! still only $7 for the 1400 mah batt, not badd....
thanks
thank you very much for that great detailed response. is that more than what you would normally get out of your OEM 1100mah battery?
like what would those figures have been had you been using the original battery?
Thanks very much, Jim.

Yeah, the 1400mah fits the original case.
No, I would not consider a 2000mah battery because of:
- The price
- The bulk
- The additionnal back plate.
14$ for two 1400mah battery.
15$ for a desktop cradle dual battery charger.
S/H included.
That's all I will ever need!

well the stock battery is "good". but im not gonna give away $7 (even tho thats not much) if its not going to do anything more than the stock battery. thats...completely pointless. i was just trying to get some #'s on the stock battery vs the ebay one to see if it was even worth bothering with.
The only reason i'm slightly wary is that it's not OEM...
Is this something I should be worried about? would TEP through sprint still take care of me in store? I hate asurion...

Hi, sorry I wasn't subscribed to this thread.
Yes, they seem to work fine. I haven't compared them to the OEM battery in any sort of analytical way. My reception and programs I run vary so much that it would be pretty difficult to do a fair comparison. My anecdotal experience is that they work comparably to the original. How long they'll last (#cycles), who knows. If there's anything specific you want me to test, let me know. Yes, CDMA version of the vogue (Sprint Touch).
I also bought one, and he shipped a different battery that didn't fit. He insisted that I email a photo of the battery to prove it which I did. He said I was right, he had sent the wrong battery, and he would send me the right one. He also wants me to (at my cost) mail him back the wrong battery he sent me. I told him I would only do that when he puts $1.80 (cost of mailing it to Hong Kong) into my PayPal account since it was his mistake not mine. After numerous inquiries he finally responded that he has shipped a replacement, but it is almost 2 weeks ago and I still haven't received it.
I've ordered from this site in the past with favorable results. Shipping can take up to 3 weeks but it is free. This battery is for the Touch Pro 2 but should work with our phones.

Super! I have ordered from them as well with positive result. Let us know how the battery performs when it comes in. Thanks for the heads up!

not sent from an iPhone
That's a killer price... and they take paypal. Thanks Hexto!
My only question is... will adding 200mAh really make a big difference?
I was thinking of ordering one of these, too, but now I'm not sure if I need to. Ever since learning that the Calendar was causing my phone not to sleep, I have been being sure to keep that process killed. Let me tell you it has made a HUGE result. I unplug my phone around 8am every day and usually by lunchtime I have a battery that is about 40%. And that is just with moderate use.
Today I unplugged it at the same time and have been streaming BT audio to my car for about 4 hours straight. Now it's 4:30pm and the battery is still at 60%! All by just killing the Calendar process.
Hopefully HTC/Google can get that software kink worked out in the next release.
I agree. Ever since I found what wasn't letting my phone sleep, my battery life has improved tremendously. Also, now that I'm using TaskPanel, all apps that I don't need open get auto-killed when my phone sleeps. That's why I was wondering if the extra 200 mAh would be worth it, even if it is only $5. Anyone have any opinion?
I always like to have an extra battery for when I go camping or travel. Doubt 200mAh will make much of a difference but at that price I'd I don't have to even think about it. Its the price of a foot long
thanks for posting - I bought two to have as extras. They will come in handy at some point!
Where could I find an extra charger for batteries only?

I agree that having an extra battery could come in handy at times. I have to say I am a bit worried about removing the battery cover any more than absolutely necessary, though. With my Droid, the battery cover falls off at will, and I wonder how the Incredible's battery cover will hold up to being removed repeatedly.

I'd like to know the answer to this because DealExtreme has some kick ass prices on damn near EVERYTHING!
I don't see how this would work. Contacts seem to be in wrong place. The TP2 is different than the TP, but I could be wrong, it's been known to happen...
You would need to get the base plate for the TP2 battery to charge. Same as incredible.
Or you can do what I just did and placed 20 orders for my client for their incredible
Ebay hkcyberport
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...Category=20336&_trkparms=algo=LVI&its=I&otn=1
It comes with an OEM HTC TP2 battery and charger with the correct plate. It also has a USB(mini) plug to dual charge or plug into laptop.
$10.88 with battery and free shipping. I don't need it right away so the 7-10 days is not big deal.

DX batteries are notorious for being over-rated in their capacity. Plus at that price I doubt if the batteries are protected from overdischarging...explosion would be a possibility.
You can also go to eBay and type in htc incredible battery
and there will be a bundle of 2 of those with a standalone desktop charger for the batteries for about 10-15 shipped.
You can also buy a 14piece bundle with screen protectors, styluses, chargers, the above battery bundle, and a couple cases and more for about 35-40$ shipped.
Well, I just received the battery from DealExtreme. Although it fits in the slot, it will not charge or power up. Either I received a DOA battery, or it does not work. Either way, save your $5.
I've got a contact with the owner of a company who builds custom battery chargers, currently they develop chargers for marine applications (on-board ships, subs, ect.)

it's my father's company. thought started out as mainly designing a better charger for myself... but depending on the results & interest, we might produce a few more.
company name is Quality Marine (www.qualitymarinechargers.com)
current model we're looking at is the HD2 (since that's the phone I got) but again... depending on results & interest, we might expand to other models.
first thing we would need to do is see the condition of the battery after a standard charge... see the limits of the battery, and a few other factors. Potentials would be better battery life (not how long a charge lasts... but lifetime of the battery) faster charge times, and potentially other factors... (as we haven't done any testing with the battery yet it's hard to say)
anyways... that's where we are at currently

Check out the one at Obostore... Cradle plus extra battery charger in one. I picked one up and it's great.
Already have it.... if you look, the output voltage on the charger is different then the stock HD2 charger (it's lower)
it's possible with the internal circuitry it could be a "trickle charger".... but I doubt it.
Also... i'm not so sure I like how the phone sits in the cradle... it feels to put the majority of the weight on the microUSB port and not on the cradle.
it's an ok cradle for the price ($20 if I recall?) but I think it could be done better.

I agree... It could be better for sure... I wish it was angled so that the phone would rest on the back of the phone and so it's not sitting straight up... The question is, is it even worth it since this is a WinMO6.5 phone? Tmobile could stock selling HD2's when the Winmo7 phones start coming in.

True. I'm just thinking about this dude throwing down a TON of cash to make the MOQ on something like this and being stuck with them because the demand isn't huge... Seems risky from a $$$ standpoint.

TBH, I don't think the MOQ will really be that high.... we're only talking about a 3.7V battery after all
the concept & design will be mine... as the project will still start with making something better for my phone and as I said... depending on how it turns out, we could make more depending on results & interest.
The stock USB charger for the HD2 is already very good. I use it to charge all of my USB devices from Garmin GPS to HD2 and other things

There are many other auctions with the charger, varying in price and the number of batteries you get.

Well I bought this a few weeks ago and it came in the mail a few days ago...all i can say is nice..! It was 2 batteries 1600mah and a charger for like 18$ shipped and the battery last way longer than the stock one...I am very impressed and will let you know how they stand up...Today is my first day and I did not even drain and cycle charge them yet so I may get even more juice...I am very impressed for cheap ebay batteries...Anyways...cheers

I already have two batteries, I'm looking for a charger that can charge two batteries at the same time. I doubt that there is something like that out there lol
