Just what im looking for to, think ive read somewhere that gpsforless may be stocking them, but there is still no confirmed date.
Anyone know where and when these will be available.
A case or skin for this would be great.

I am awaiting a silicone case myself, but for now, I use the stock case without the keyboard. It still works good, IMO.

I was hoping that Vaja Cases would have one but it may end up that we're at the next great device before they come out with one. We'll see.

I like the look of this case:
http://www.pielframa.net/prodi.asp?id=465
I have confirmed that it will fit the device without the keyboard.
The issue obviously is the magnetic strip on the device itself. Can this be be removed? If so then there is no risk to credit cards etc and I will be happy with both the device and the case...

Uhm...interesting...but if it'd have a belt clip too it would be better...because this way it'd have Bible-carry effect.
...I was watching to this model http://www.pielframa.net/cartridge_cesta.asp. Did you check if its dimension fits to X7500?

Thanks for letting us all know.
My only concerns are that the http://www.bluetrade.eu/index.php?page=product&id=8720 case found here will do exactly as the free case does, scratch the inside of the screen, and also ensure that all the letters wear off as there is no protection from the keyboard.
the great diffence is that
you can see the external screen when closed
and !!!
there is a belt clip !!!
The one from Case Logic seems promising but I don't think it will fit:
X7500 dimensions (mm): 133,5 x 98 x 16 (or x 20 with keyboard on)
Case interior dimensions: 138,2 x 82,6 x 25,4
Please report when you receive it and post pictures if you can.
Regards,
S.

Let us know once you get the case with the belt clip. I want one like that.
This one will work, and has a velcro belt loop:

I like the looks of the bluetrade.eu one. Cant wait for a mini review. How exactly will the x7500 fit on the belt for daily use.... Will it make you limp?
Looks to be about $49 USD for it after all shipping and paypal tax. The shipping to the US is more than the case costs
Looks to be about the same design as the Piel Frama and about half the price for people in the US. We will see what the quality is when someone gets one.

Thanks looks good indeed.. I did order one asw ell yesterday evening, let's see, they states it will take at least 10 days to deliver...
Hi,
I like the bluetrade one BUT ... I don't think the display will work proparly because the keyboard will a little bit separated from the Athena so the magnet will not recognized the keyboard is there (as it happens with the case it comes with the Athena). This is due to the smalls grips to hold the Athena.
4 weeks ago, I found this camera bag that fits to my Athena.
The brand name is TUCANO (www.tucano.it).
When I'm wearing a suit I use to carry the Athena in my jacket pocket without any kind of case.
But the rest of the time I use to carry a small backpack. For that reason, I was looking for a case which it could be complitely closed.
As I said, the one I'm using is from Tucano and is a camerga bad. There are several sizes. My one is 'Medium'.
I hope this would help anyone.
I will add some pictures so I'm sure you will have a better idea.
Best regards,
Alberto

i received it yesterday
... don't fit or nearly
X7500 gets in with dificulty but it gets
X7500 dimensions (mm): 133,5 x 98 x 16 (or x 20 with keyboard on)
Case interior dimensions: 138,2 x 82,6 x 25,4
there 's 1,5 cm left
so it's get in but it is too stretch and it is hard to get in and get then out
I'm trying to stretch it with something biger but after 24 hours still the same
it depends on the using of each one but for me for a constant use every day it s not usefull at hall
but if the "forced" stretch work i will tell you
for the bluetrade case still not received

It's under the HTC X7500 category on their website so I'm hoping it fits. Aesthetically, it does not really tick any of my boxes but I've actually ordered one to try out until I get the case I really like.

It does look better but personally, I do need a belt-clip/attachment option for carrying it about.
belt clip
I says it comes with one!
you can also use the aircompact casing for a nintendo DS. it fits perfectly with side pockets and extra flap in the middle to protect your lcd and the keyboard from rubbing against each other

And protects the keyboard from any attempt to type on it.
It's not a BAD case; some aspects are well thought out, but it has NO belt clip option, and the keyboard is covered with a plastic sheet that warps and isn't quite flexible enough - even when new, before it had warped so much the ZXC row of keys was utterly unusable, pressing E or R would often send a half-finished reply to an SMS as it activated the soft key as well.
After a month of ownership the plastic was so bad, I traced the edges of the keyboard and cut a section out, leaving only the top row of keys covered and an edge around to hold the keyboard down.
Oh, didnt realise it had a crappy plastic cover over the keyboard! I assumed it had a magnet on the back like the original case... damn.

New Horizontal Leather Case for the HTC Advantage X7510, X7501, & X7500 by NUTSHELL

New Horizontal Leather Case for the HTC Advantage X7510, X7501, & X7500 by NUTSHELL
New Horizontal Leather Case for the HTC Advantage X7510, X7501, & X7500 by NUTSHELL
Nutshell: http://tuff-as-nuts.com/index.asp?PageAction=COMPANY
I had contacted Nutshell regarding a customized Horizontal Case (black) that will fully enclosed the HTC Advantage X7510 with the leather pouch included about 2 months ago. I was able to get intouch with Ian Miller and was basically received with open arms. I was asked to submit my design and the dimensions.
The dimensions are: 5.8 inches (lenght) x 4.4 inches (height) x 1.30 inches (depth).
It is closed by a velcro flap that fully covers the top of the case preventing any accidental exposure to the elements.
The back of the case has the D ring and metal belt clip lined with leather. But in all honesty, I think it would have looked better if the metal clip was left without the leather strip cover. It would looked nicer if the silver finish of the metal clip was shown rather than hidden.
But all in all, the case is very well made. The stitches and cuttings were done right and very clean. The case will protect the X7510 and it's leather pouch while having the ability to clip it to your belt or trousers on the go.
I paid $95.00 for the case, but it may become cheaper if it will be popular.
I have attached pictures for you guys and gals to check. I believe NUTSHELL will mass produce them if the demand is high enough.
THANK YOU NUTSHELL (Ian) for a case well done.
Feel free to ask questions...

Thanks Christian. Glad to help.
As this was a prototype, we have not yet given it a part number...but we shall and then post it to our catalog.
With your blessing I"ll use some of the images you have posted here.
Obviously we shall try to price it right, but as the first few will, like this one, be hand cut, pricing will have to stay the same in the short term.
However, if there is an interest (and it has to be considerable to make it worthwhile, we'll likely look at getting the assets that will enable us to run off some volume).
That said, it really is over to the community to determine if this product gets wings...or....?
A suggestion: Maybe someone could open a book to register interest (bulk purchases work best and enable us to finetune our pricing). As I am not a regular on this forum, maybe that someone could run point for me on this.
So it really is over to you guys.
We'll do what we can.
All the best.

Nutshell,
Very well taken pictures indeed. Looks like real good quality pouch. Is it made to custom sizes? I normally carry my device without the keyboard, so it is quite a bit thinner and smaller. What would be the total cost shipped to Australia?
Also, a question for cktlcmd. Currently, I have a soft pouch, and taking it out is easy, as I can squeeze the soft pouch to push out the device. With a hard leather one, I imagine it is not easy to squeeze the bottom to force the device upward, so one would have to lift it up. Would that be easy? Or would the device be too slippery for that, even that I carry it naked?

In my case, since it also houses the X7510 with keyboard and the leather case, it is not slippery at all. It is easy to grab it on top and just pull it out. The case itself is not made of really hard leather plus it is lined inside with felt like skin to protect the device from being scratched by the case itself. The technique I use to get it out fast is to pull on top and press each sides of the case because that is where I notice the greatest hold on the device occurs.
In your case, since you will probably want Nutshell to adjust the measurements to accommodate just the device, it won't even be a problem because of the soft felt lining, it will just slid easily in and out.
It trully is a nice case. I wish they had designed it like this from the start.

Horizontal belt case for HTC x7510
Sure, we can make you a slimmer horizontal case.
Costs would be the same.
We would need the dimensions without the keyboard.
Shipping to Oz from NZ depends on how quickly you would want one.

Will the 7510 case also fit the 7500/7501? My understanding is that they are the same dimensions... Anyone know offhand?
Thanks for the topic
Have anyone ever seen a vertical case for X7500 for the use without the external keyboard?
This is a bit off-topic, but personally I find the HW keyboard to be the ultimate screen-protector and would not dream of leaving home without it (even though I use my Advantage in portrait-mode 95% of the time).
On-topic again I would guess that one could use any case made for the 7510 WITH keyboard as this unit is just a bit thinner than the original 7500/7501.

No. The keyboard is the most effective way to ruin your device with scratches. Take it away if you want your unit to look new all the time. If you really must have the keybaord, put a piece of cloth between the unit and the keyboard to prevent them from rubbing against each other.
We have different experiences then eaglesteve. I have used my HTC X7500 for well more than a year with the original book cover (with the 3 clips) and have only miniscule scratches on the keyboard itself, not on the main unit.
I now also have the Piel Frama Case (since a month ago) and with this case it would be even more difficult to scratch the unit with the keyboard.
And even if this was NOT the case I would much rather have endured a scratch or two than having my screen broken due to a fall or pointed item pressing against it (even in the pouch). The solid steel of the keyboard over the screen gives me an ease of mind I will not trade for the sake of a marginally smaller "package" to carry around.
And now, with the vertical Nutshell-Pouch I hope to enjoy my Advantage X7500 for a long time since no better device (for my needs) seems forthcoming from HTC or any other manufacturer.
I agree with eaglesteve - I've had more scratches/rub-marks from the keyboard than from anything else. Keeping the keyboard as a screen protector is a non-issue, just make sure the screen faces towards your body when its in a pouch, or in a pocket. On the weekends I leave my Nutshell and the keyboard at home, and just face the screen towards my leg in my pocket.

finally after many, many tries, a case that really works. well made. beautiful. sturdy. i got the mag lock. very nice, highly recommended.
Well... I just order mine from Spain... 10/14 days to wait... will see. I'm risk 99.95 USD on it.
I just receive the confirmation email... good signal, my VISA still works.
Received last week.
Well finished... and the quality is according the price.
The X7500 fits perfectly even with it's case. Since I'm not placing the X7500 in the case with the original one there is place for my backup battery.
Great job Nutshell
This case is nice! But I always wanted a case that would allow me to hold my X7500 without the keyboard,so it would look like a slim and supersized-screen IPOD! That I can put into my pocket easily..like an IPOD.
So, I have a question for Nutshell: can you build us one? But I can someone here volunteer to provide some dimentions for an X7500 or X7501, coz I really sucked at the whole designing and measurement thing, afraid I would screw up the whole thing.

Piel Frama iMagnum - how well does it hold HD2 ?

Does anyone have the Piel Frama iMagnum case ?
If so, how does it grip the HD2 and stop it falling out ?
I guess the lower sides are rigid and since the HD2 has sloping sides it grips that way, but I'm curious to know how tight it is ... Is it so tight you feel you are scratching the HD2 sides when you push it in ?
Is it slack enough to make you feel that if you held the case up side down the device could fall out ?
Cheers
Paul.
Hi, I have had the case a few weeks now. Its very good. Nice snug fit. Doesn't scratch phone and clasps the phone so that it wont fall out. Phone can be removed easily from case but still snug enough that you can have case open and face down and the phone wont fall out.
Lift up flap does not fold right back over on itself though it may with time. Mine did not come with money holder or card holder as indicated in description at the time. Still I am very happy with the case.
Cool
That's promising.
The other question that someone bought up is that all but the tan iMagnum has a description suggesting a magnetic closure. The tan (probably a mistake) is a snap closure.
If they do only come with magnetic closure can you see what effect this has on the digital compass. If it affects it, which I would have though it would, this would be a bit of a major design flaw.
Cheers
Paul.
Need to know that as well..
Yes the magnetic enclosure does indeed affect the compass. Not something I personally use much at the minute but it could have implications for applications that you may use now or in the future.
a little off topic, just wana ask, how long did it take for you to get your imagnum from order to getting the real thing? did they send any confirmation of shipping to you prior to getting it delivered? and how's the leather quality? im currently waiting for mine, and im at day 7 now.. it does say however it takes up to 10days to deliver, but i hope i wont have to wait that long
ohya, some pics would be nice too. thanks
Even the Piel Frama guys are reading the forum
They've updated the description to the following
- Magnet closure system. (The magnets on the case may interfere in the compass function)
So is this leather case recommended? I am really hesitating before throwing my 80 euros on that.

Regarding delivery time I found Piel Frama to accurate in their delivery estimate. I was just disappointed I was unable to discard my wallet as the money pocket and card holder to get rid of some of the bulk in my pocket were not incoporated as specified. The case is light though and slim. Despite weight of phone dont notice it in my pocket but maybe thats because I used to have the case for the Tytn II.

how accurate? it's been 11 days now since i placed my order and i have yet to receive my imagnum from pf.
I bought their classic snap enclosure rather than the magnum.
A great case, no magnet so no compass issue, all buttons easy to access.
Great quality and the lid does "flop" over after a short while so no problem for leaving it open. I use mine with a Krusell windscreen mount as the button on the back of the case is almost identical to the Krusell mount.
The case has 2 card slots for credit cards/money.
Very happy with it, and communication about delivery was excellent.

I think I read in a post that they acknowledged this oversight and they would send a new revised one to those who already bought it.
Geez.. I bet they didn't read the device specs before designing the case. Pretty stupid I find.

Best case for (roughly) £15 on expansys?

www.expansys.com
I have 2 free £15 vouchers, which would be the best option?
Thanks
Don't know what cases you are on about but the advice I would give you this:
If you intend to use the phone in the case all the time then the design that you should go for is one that leaves the whole face of the HD2 open to you otherwise you will have problems operating the phone.
Alternatively go for a case where you can take the phone out to use; however make sure the case completely holds the phone in securely when its in there.
SuperEtrader were selling a belt pouch where you could not even close the flap when the phone was in it. They claimed it was HD2 compatible.
Finally, having bought 5 cases now, you get what you pay for......

WOWparts Case Review

My son decided that he wanted the WOWparts case. I posted a review on Amazon about it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008M5SD9U/ref=oss_product
It claims to have a magnet for the sleep/wake function, but there isn't one. Also, the part that holds the device is too big vertically by just over 1/4". As a result, his Nexus 7 can slide around inside the case, making it more difficult to use. I've contacted WOWparts in case they accidentally sent us the wrong case. I'll post here again if they respond.
I'd say to avoid this one. Even if everything was right, the similar Poetic case (which I review here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795991) is superior in every way. At the time, it was $2 cheaper to boot, although now the Poetic one is more expensive.
Would love to hear any feed back on the rotating case from WOWparts. Anyone order this?
Thanks for letting us know.

Ah, thanks for this, this was on my list of potentials.
They got back to me. Evidently it was mis-listed as having a smart cover when it doesn't. They offered to let me keep it and get a partial $5 refund. I took a them up on it. It would have cost me at least $3 to ship it back anyway. The fit still isn't the greatest, so I can't recommend it. They were quick to respond, though, so I'll give them credit for that.

From looking at the listing, it doesn't have the smart cover, if that makes a difference to you. If the Nexus 7 fits in that one like it does in the one my son got, I'd say to take a pass.

I did end up getting the rotating case from WOWparts. Although it doesn't have the smart cover - it does fit the Nexus 7 perfectly. For $10 delivered to Canada.. I would say it is a decent buy
Built-in magnetic strip enjoy more comfort it brings with a kickstand to prop up your Nexus.
