Downgrade SPL and ROM to TMobile stock

A friend om mine owns an MDA Vario, upgraded to Molski's 2.26.. The Wizard lags horribly at games, music and any other cpu intensive task (even before Molski's ROM!), their are also strange logfiles on the root of the wizzard (dbgtostorage..) about 4MB each, they pile up and one of them (active one..) can't be deleted so its in use by something.. what could it be?
Anyway, I think it's an hardware issue and want to send it for RMA, before doing that I want to flash it back to stock Dutch TMobile IPL/SPL/ROM..
For some reason the SPL can't be downgraded? ROM and IPL change after an update but the SPL sticks at 2.26 (Molski's)
The latest TMobile (2.21) can't be used asks me to find a newer updatetool, can't downgrade..
I've already tried Boot's 1.05 but it won't downgrade the SPL and also tried the Cingular 1.8, same problem.. SPL stil 2.26..
What would happen if I would flash an G4 device with G3 IPL\SPL, would the device stil work but crash or is it just not possible to flash G3 on G4 device?
Is their some commandline IPL\SPL\ROM updatetool without checks and stuff?

Copy enablerapi.cab to your device (I know that you've unlocked your device, just indulge me please ) Execute enablerapi.cab from your PDA. get to a Dos prompt and run lokiwiz from the C prompt. Unlock CID and SIM. It WILL reboot each time. If your IPL / SPL still show a 2.x reflash again with the 1.05.
If you do this I'll just about guarantee that it'll work

missed upgrade

I just upgraded my QTEK 9100 with the latest RIsidoro rom and have now a 2.26 OS but...always an ipl 1.03 and a spl 1.03.0000.
The device hangs and I can't have any activsync runnuing to reflash to an other version. How can I recuperate my PPC?

When having problems with Rom Upgrades you really need to provide as much information as possible about your situation.
Please state the following:
What Rom did you have prior to upgrading, include IPL/SPL numbers.
Do you know if your device is G3 or G4 flash chip?
Is your device CID Unlocked?
Have your read (thoroughly) the instructions provided for the Rom you attempted to upgrade?
My initial guess would be that the Rom you flashed doesn't include IPL/SPL (as Risidoro clearly states in the Original Post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276700)
In this case, you need to flash one of the Operator provided AKU 2.x Roms to get your IPL/SPL up to 2.x BEFORE you flash Risidoro's Rom to your device.

Before flashing I had following situation
IPL 1.03
SPL 1.03.0000
GSM 1.410.0
OS 1.37.10
I didn't saw the thread wher it said that the isodoro flash wasn't a complete one. So I upgraded the device with this rom on the above config
After flashing with Isodoro I have same IPL and SPL no GSM anymore and OS 2.26...
I have no USB connection anymore, I supose I can not flash anymore. The device is extremely slow. The only rescue I see is eventualy to flash the device again with the mini SD.
Before I started the first flash I did a CID unlock. Actualy i don't now if it is locked again.

I'm going to give you some general info but you will have to do your own leg work to put this together.

I am assuming that your device is not properly CID Unlocked (although it may be doing it again will not harm your device).
First you will need to download an Operator Rom, I would suggest this one:
ftp://xda:[email protected]_Prodigy_1060701_101_11310_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe
as it is an official Qtek AKU 1.x Rom.
Second place your Device into Bootloader Mode (search on it) and run the update that you downloaded.
At this point you are pretty close to where you were when you started.
Now, CID Unlock your Phone! Use this thread:

If you have followed the instructions and everything went okay then you can now flash any of the Roms you (except one that are marked as G4 only since you appear to have a G3 Device).

Looks like you flashed a 2.xx rom with no bootloader into a 1.xx system.
First try a full 2.xx rom from a carrier (cingular 2.25 comes to mind) then reflash the rom you want. Be careful playing with the phone in the current state as the battery will drain and not re-charge. I had to have a friend charge my battery for me when I did this same thing.

Is this normal?

I'm sorry if this a repost or not, but i'm currently following the Upgrade procedure for windows mobile 6, and it required me to downgrade to the button rom. Everything went smooth, but i wonder. The guy in the tourital says that my IPL and SPL is one on 1.xx and another on 2.xx, as mine is both at 1.xx. i have the T-mobile MDA version, and I'm following the G3 tourital. Currently now it's just sitting there, should i continue without worry or do i need to do it over again to get one at 1.xx/2.xx. Thanks for the support

No - if both your ipl/spl is at 1.xx - then you are good to go, continue on to the next step.
It appears that some users (such as myself ) have to run the buttom rom twice to get both ipl/spl to be the same.
My first pass with the button rom gave me ipl of 1.xx -and spl of 2.xx
Ran the button rom a second time - and all was good

Remember to CID unlock, then Upgrade IPL/SPL before upgrading to WM6.

Read the guide carefully,it says, the while downgrading with Button's Rom you might probably get ipl 1.xx and spl 2.xx,reflash the button's rom a few times more till you get both ipl/spl 1.xx.Its required to have both ipl/spl 1.xx to apply lokiwiz02b to SIM/CID unlock the phone,so as you already got ipl/spl 1.xx,you are lucky and good to go to run lokiwiz02b and unlock,remember only after unlocking the phone,upgrade to ipl/spl 2.xx by flashing T-mobile 2.26,ok

Thanks you Guys, it Successfully installed with breeze. Now that i upgraded the rom by installing the 2.26 before WM6, I'm getting 200% better reception, like it would take an hour or more Just to get reception ANYWHERE!!!!, I'm not kidding. Now that i finished up and installed the black diamond WM6, as soon i hit the today screen, I'm already connected to t-mobile. Thank you everybody for telling me that I'm safe on continuing the installer with both 1.xx ipl/spl, because now i have better reception, touch, unlocked, MDA. Thanks xda-developers for the great information.

help: IPL/SPL won't downgrade

hi, i am downgrading my wizard for days now. i followed the guided by dr puttingham. but my SPL won't downgrade. i used the button ROM & even the wizard_love ROM for several times now. my IPL is now 1.01 but my SPL is still 3.08. my wizard is a G3
anyone pls help

Flash 2 Times in a Row the button Rom 1.05 and you'll get both ipl and spl 1.05.
Anyway (Since It is understood you are in the process Cid unlocking) if your IPL is 1.05 try the LokiWiz.
I Cid Unlocked having IPL 1.05 Spl 2.25.

thanks for your reply. but i did both the cid unlocking using lokiwiz and tried lashing the ROM twice and it still doesn't work

there must be something you missed in the directions.
Youa have to run the lockwiz aplication twice also. one for sim one for cid. usualy when I have that type of problem it is starring me in the face and i cant see it. I recomend stepping away from it for a bit.

i saw this "With your device connected to your computer as Guest, run the file that your downloaded. It's pretty much self-explanatory. Agree to everything, and let it do it's thing. It is downgrading your IPL to 1.05. You can only unlock your phone if the IPL is 1.xx, you can't do it if your IPL is 2.xx."
my worry is that my ipl is 2.xx
can i proceed with this? is there anyone who has successfully been able to do those steps on a device with 2.xx ?

I was having the same problem using button 1.05.Try using this rom The Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102.exe. Find it in the tutorial and download.Then follow the instructions.

ok guys i f***** up my mda gets stuck at second splash screen the one that tells you ipl/spl and stuff
i was flashing a new rom using a prog called shelltool which i got from here as my device isnt cid unlocked i was using this rom

i have tried using a rom update utility but doesnt work, please help

You can always flash back to your MDA stock ROM.
After flashing back, flash to Button's ROM to downgrade your IPL and SPL and unlock your CID. However due to your IPL and SPL is at 3.08, there is a possibility that you can downgrade IPL to 1.01, however SPL stays at 3.08. In that case, try unlock CID using Wizard Service Tool (Actually you can also use WST if both IPL and SPL version are 1.01).
Note: Never use ShellTool ever. There are methods now that use RUU to flash your favorite ROM, both for G3 and G4. You should use those methods instead.

the same thing happened to me when I was very hesitant on cid unlocking my 838 . I use shelltool in flashing and was successful but when i decided to give another shot on a different cooked rom, it certainly did its job on flashing but never got pass on the IPL SPL screen.
then I follow Dr. P's guide (CID unlocking) then I successfully resurrected my 838 and now I can flash whatever cooked rom I want (given that it is for a G3 device)
btw, after flashing my 838 with the buttons rom, I use WST instead of lokiwiz

good to hear that try to look for a rom that will suit your needs. There is a lot of good roms here, just try to search what best fit you.
like I did, i have flashed at least 5 different roms in just a months time
