WM6 Mail - Wing, P4350 Herald Upgrading

I have been searching for a answer on this and cannot find anything. So I turn to experts like you!
The issue I and maybe others is that whenever I receive a new email message that falls under one of my Mail rules (to route new mail to subfolders in the Exchange Mailbox) my phone will not tell me there is a new message waiting for me to reply too.
Does any one know of a fix\hack\tweak that would tell me when any new email is received....regardless of which folder the message is routed too!
Thanks in advance.

I hope somebody answers this question. I'm going to have to remove all of my rules an start moving them all manually after I read them. That would suck!

Are the subfolders subfolders of the inbox folder?

They most certainty are! Oh wait a minute.....dang didn't even think about that! Hold on.
I moved all the folders from below the inbox into the actual mailbox. But still wont tell me when I receive mail in any box but the Inbox.
I might have to reconfigure the phone (delete the current account and redo the setup)
I will do that later and post back!
Thanks for the help! and great question. I almost feel retarded that I didn't think of that before!

Well moving the folders didnt change anything. Even after the reset of the device.
Any one have any other ideas?

go to the folder directly and hit send/recieve.

Well its not that the email isnt syncing to the folder.
Its that whenever, ActiveSync runs and downloads mail, it will only tell me about new mail residing in my Inbox and not any other folders. ( I have rules that route mail to the correct subfolder )
I just want to the phone to display the number of messages that are new TOTAL not just in the Inbox.

ok got it.

a rigorous solution, but:
I installed spb diary. This program checks all folders for new mail. It allows for completely managing your mail from the today screen (or just the new mail whatever you prefer) great program.

New TiLT Owner - Outlook Exchange Question

Hi all,
I'm sure this has been brought up before, but I thought it would have been fixed in the WM6.
I use subfolders on my exchange server and I am using the exchange connection to my new TiLT to get my email.
When I get email that the sever rules move into a subfolder, I don't get an alert on my device that I have new email.
Is there a way to have an alert on my device when I receive email no matter what folder it ends up in?
Removing my rules is not an option because if all of my email went into my Inbox I would get nothing done.
A
I do the same thing but as far as I have looked, I did not find such thing because the push mail function only alerts of you new mail in the INBOX folder. But you can always go and check the other folders in your Outlook email folders. Just make sure they are enabled on the sync option.
- TKN
I think this is a problem with mobile Outlook itself. My other PDA phone does the same thing.
There must be some sort of reg hack out there so this would work...
A
Why not modify your rule to copy the item into your folder, not move it? That way it stays in the Inbox. Then you can manually delete the items from your Exchange Inbox or wait until the server deletes them automatically. Unless you can locally purge the Inbox after x days automatically.
Yikes, that will double my mail storage... it is a valid work around though.
I'll leave it open to see if a hack is possible, and treat that option as the worst case.
A
If you are using Exchange 2003 or later it should not increase the size. Exchange stores one copy and it just appearers as two to you. If you send an e-mail to ten people in your organization the server only stores one copy. However, this my not apply when users create copies intentionally. Check it out.
Thanks, Lew
Yup, we're on 2007.
Sorted, I'll change the rules.

Active sync keeps changing emails back to unread

I have an AT&T tilt. It seems like whenever I get an email and I check it on my Tilt, if I move that email from the inbox into its appropriate folder that later on I notice the email is marked as unread again.
If I leave it in the inbox this doesn't happen.
As an example, in the morning when I get up, I check all my email on my phone and then move them into the appropriate folder. But by the time I get to work and check my email on the computer I see that all the folders that I moved the emails too are bold and show that there is an unread message in them. When I check those folders I see the the unread emails are the ones I checked on my phone earlier in the morning and that I already read them.
This is probably something really simple, but it's annoying and I don't know how to fix it. I'd appreciate it if anyone could help me out. Thanks!
BTT
Anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Thanks!
Please? Anyone?
(Exchange) It's because in the AS settings you chose to have your desktop overide your device. This is popular because on older model ppc's with volatile memory if your device died you'd lose evrything when you resync'd via wireless sync with the device overiding the desktop.
(Hotmail, Yahoo, etc...) This also happens because the mail host overides the device. The only way to make the email stop is to perform the read on the host account site.
Thanks a lot for the explanation. That makes sense.

Pushmail notification on all mail folders

Hi all,
It's not really a Diamond specific issue, more a Windows Mobile one, but since I'm running Direct Push on the Diamond now, I thought it would be ok to post this here.
I have Direct Push enabled (Microsoft Exchange) and it works.
I have quite a few subfolders in my 'Inbox' on the Exchange server, having Outlook sending email to the appropriate folder as they arrive, using Outlook's 'rules'.
On the Diamond (mailbox 'Outlook') I can see all those folders and I have marked them all for sync - which works.
Now the problem is that I only receive a pushmail notification (sound alert/vibration and onscreen message) for email that is not send to a subfolder by a rule, and that stays in 'Inbox'.
When I receive mail that was sent to a subfolder by rule, it get pushed to the same subfolder in the Diamond, but without any notification.
Now who's dealing with a situation like this, and knows how I can get my new email notification for all subfolders?
Thanks!!
I've got the same problem, and it is realy a problem because I've have a lot of subfolders.
Jacky
Same problem for me too... any luck figuring it out?

I've wished for this for a long time and I know of no solution. I have rules running in Outlook to sort only messages that I don't need immediate notification of on my device. The rules to sort the others are disabled. Periodically, I manually run the other rules to sort my inbox.
I have a "different" but effective workaround for this:
Are you guys using Server side rules to move all of the e-mails to the different folders?
I set all my rules to be client (Outlook) side. So when I am at my notebook, the e-mail will be moved to the correct folders. When I am out in the field, and using my Diamond, those rules obviously don't run, so everything stays in my Inbox and I get notified of all the mails.
Back in the office, my Outlook rules will move it to the correct folders when I open Outlook.
Like I said, not the best of ways to do it, but it works for me
A probably dump question, but wanted to see if my company is running push enabled email and if is it possible to receive mail notifications on my Diamond by knowing the following: company is using Exchange Server - I can check my work email only either via Outlook client or Outlook Web Access.
From the above does it seem that I can have push email working on my Diamond? Do they have to be running some special push server for this to work.
I know I can ask this IT department, but wanted to clarify this here before I approach them.
Thanks.
@ EazyVG,
Since you're accessing email through OWA (and Outlook Client), that means your company is using MS Exchange Server(and Microsoft Direct Push, which is a part of Exchange Server).
So you can get the emails pushed on your Diamond as soon as they arrive(or any device that supports Direct Push for that matter) just by configuring an email account on your device with the settings same as of your email server.
Thanks for the info.
So, there is no solution to the topic-title issue?

There are several applications that you can try:
MessageNotify - Installs as Today Plugin, showing all subfoders with new e-mails
You can find it on Softpedia.
And CheckMail that claims to do the same, but the site section dedicated to the software is unavailable at the moment I was writing this post
The producer is called Magicashop
(sorry for not being able to send links to those applications, but xda forum prevents me since this is my first post)

Tilt e-mails deleting themselves

Has anyone else experienced this? I have the tilt and it seems that if I leave an e-mail in the in box for a long time it eventually deletes itself. I had an e-mail with driving directions on it, I left it in my box until I needed it, when I went to view it, it was gone. This is not the first time I have noticed this.
Um, most of the time the emails are removed from the phone once the email has been checked from a computer. Email clients on a computer delete the mail from the server and pocket outlook doesn't.
Also, you will set, as an option, a specific amount of time to retrieve email.
If you want to save one specifically, save it to a different folder.

I didn't realize the PPC would delete e-mails from the inbox simply because they are not on the server anymore. That sux, once it's in my inbox it should stay there until I decide what to do with it.
Thanks though for the tip of moving it to another folder.
In the E-Mail setting there is an option you set for how far back you want to check your mail. Set it to all and your e-mail should remain in the inbox.

Help please? Nexus 1 Email troubles

Hello, I really need some help with some email problems here with my nexus 1 (att 3g vers).
It has NOT been rooted, and has android 2.2 installed (prefer to not root btw).
Anyway, the problem is in regard to the android EMAIL app (don't know it's name, but it's the icon of the envelope and yellow @ symbol in it).
I've set it up to handle my other email accounts (comcast and godaddy accounts) - not Gmail. Everything is setup finally and working fine...but for one problem...
once an email arrives, i get the notification...go to read it, BUT - then after reading it...it's then moved to the trash automatically (the trash in the email app that is, it's not removed from the server.
Driving me nuts - it's no longer in the inbox area of the email app, for each and every account). Each email just automatically disappears (goes to the trash) upon my reading it one time.
I can go to the trash folder and read, but this is ridiculous...shouldn't I be the one moving emails to the trash?
Can anyone suggest a fix here, or know of anything I can do to stop this?
I see no settings to change this...it's a serious bug.
Or...is there a better email app (one like this, as I do like the look and feel of this one built into android 2.2) that I should be using?
I downloaded K-9 email (but really hate it's look, feel and operation compared to this one).
Maybe there is something I'm not getting here though and need to change?
It's very strange that ea email would move to the trash upon 1st reading it.
thanks for any help here
also, i have tried searching this site for this problem with zero luck...
but i can't be the only one seeing this issue, right?
again: these accounts are my comcast and godaddy email accounts (not gmail, hotmail, etc).
thanks again
sorry man, I tried looking at my settings to see if theres anything I can suggest. Nada...
update to my Q:
Ok, doyeee
I think I know what's going on....
I was just setting comcast and godaddy accounts up and had the the email apps open on my PC at the same time while running tests.
When I did email tests, and having the PC email apps open for the same accounts...after they download to the PC is when they will go to the trash on the nexus email (not staying in INBOX on nexus when the PC email app has downloaded them).
This might be standard (I don't know as this is finally the first phone able to handle emails like this.
Hmm, i'd sure prefer it if all emails could remain in the inbox (or some other folder other than trash) as I can't hit "reply" once they're in the trash should I later want to reply to the same email with more info later on mobile.
