Just Bricked my Alpine(Qtek 2020i) HELP - PDA2, XDA IIi, 2020i General

It started with a screen alignment problem. I thought by updating the ROM I may be able to solve the problem. No way... I went to the Qtek website and got an updated ROM. I started the update, and after waiting what I though was a reasonable amount of time, about 10 minutes, I assumed I had a problem. I removed the PDA from the activesync base and ITS LOCK. I get a screen that says "SERIAL". It won't sync or do anything for that matter. Can it be saved? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

try to upgrade again its not dead I hope .....,

Radio Upgrade rendered PDA2K useless! Newbie needs help!

Well, I took a chance and this is what I get. It's 10:46pm and I have a PDA2k that won't even turn on now. Removed the battery and the whole thing.
Here's what happened, I have a PDA2K from Expansys. I decided to upgrade my radio from .06 to .10. I read every article regarding this and backing up very well. I took the instructions from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Radio_1.12_Upgrade and proceeded with the backup. I did the soft reset, and put my system in the cradle. A hot-sync took place. I then went to my folder on my desktop, clicked BAupgradeut.exe and I got the screen that popped up. I followed the instructions and clicked ok. It read my old configuration and what was going to be changed, and I clicked next. Up popped a screen saying checking information on your device...then my Active Sync shutdown, XP detected a new device and said it was ready to use. I noticed that the power light (charge light) on my PDA2k went out (yet there's power to the outlet) and Active Sync never came back on. I thought "this can't be good" but proceeded to wait 20 minutes, tried to get active sync working again and it couldn't find my unit. I finally tried to kill baupgradeut (and it's still up and running with the same "checking your information" screen. I finally said screw it (after 25 minutes) and yanked my pda2k off the cradle. No power, can't do a hard reset...nothing works at all...its completely dead. Tried pulling the battery off for a couple minutes and that didn't help either.
I'm pretty stuck here and hope you guys can help me out. (Even though everyone is probably asleep.) So, I've got a really nice paper weight here. If anyone has any thoughts, pass them on over. I chose the 1.12.00 upgrade from the same page as I mentioned above if that helps. I guess my main concern is just being able to get some response from this thing. Right now I get NOTHING.
Thanks,
Tom
Now I feel like a silly twit! Turns out I had a grey screen and was in bootloader mode. Its not too bright in this room tonight and I didn't see that...could have something to do with the 4 Guinness I had. I noticed it when the light reflected off the screen. I checked the troubleshooting guide and discovered the "grey screen" problem.
I just finished the upgrade and am setting things up. Everything's just peachy.
Sorry about being such a baby. I have insurance on this too. I could have just run over it in my Land Rover and got a new one....those trucks really flatten things.
Question: I used Sprite to backup just before I did this. Can I restore without jacking anything up?
Thanks for what I'm sure would have been a lot of help and support.

Hermant - Thank you very much for your reply. I just wish it came 13 hours ago.
I found it on the xda-developers somewhere that someone else posted. I was trying to find your link which I stumbled upon before. But alas, I found something. It required that I use GetData before the upgrade, which I didn't do. I followed the rest of the directions (which was similar to your link) and everything is perfect. My Radio and BT upgrades are still there. Thanks again for the help! I bookmarked it this time

Tom,
Actually even i had found this link here but now i have tried it many times and it is working perfectly.
Glad that i could help someone since i have learnt a lot from this site so now is the time to give back.

MAJOR problem installing BBC

Hi all. I got my Kaiser on Monday and am VERY pleased with it. Like pretty much all of the folks on this forum, I wanted to "upgrade" it a bit.
My problem is:
I installed the BBC file onto the mem card (2 gig). It said click OK to restart device. I did, but now it gives me the Windows Mobile screen and NOTHING else. The (left) indicator light is flashing green but nothing else is happening. When I press any of the buttons, they light up, but the screen does not change.
Mine is the HTC original rom, unlocked. The only thing I have installed on it is Skype.
When I call it, the incoming screen comes in over the WM startup screen but that's it. The phone works but the "Phone - Incoming" notification stays visible even after I have hung up.
I can connect and sync with ActiveSync, but the screen does not change.
Even after I take out the battery (because that's the only way to turn it off) and take out the mem card and restart, same thing happens.
I am in DESPARATE need of help!!!!!
Any suggestions as to how to "unbrick" my baby?
If there is any other info you wold need in order to shed some light on the issue, just let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Dominic
Hi all.
I found a way around the problem.
Apparently the file I got was a VERY old version. I did a hard reset (luckily I didn't lose anything as I only had it a few days) and installed the file from the link on this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327695 and it works fine now.
Thanks to all of you guys who already did the hard work in getting links, etc.
Later.
Dominic

XDA-diamond-Crash after Radio-Update

Hi community,
it's been a long time ago since I updated my XDA-Diamond. Everything worked fine, the update suceeded and the Original HTC-Logo was displayed at boot. Then I made a big mistake: I tried to update the Radio and there it happenen:
I connected the XDA to my PC. I started the Radio-Update-Program on the PC. It told me, that it needs an acknowledgement from the XDA.
Then, I acknowledged the message on my xda...but at the same time, the software on the PC displayed a "Timeout" (within 1 or 2 seconds...not even enough time to acknowledge if you had you finger on the XDA-key the whole time). I recognized the PC-message just after acknowledging.
After that, the display fade out showing some cryptic symbols. I was in fear that I killed the XDA.
But after removing the battery it came back...fist I rhought everything would be alright. But I was wrong. After retrying the update process, the XDA just crashed by connecting the USB-Port. Even after resetting it.
Then I tried to restor the original firmware...the same here...the xda crashed after connecting to the PC and starting the update-tool.
I lived with that a long time (4 months or so) but meanwhile, the XDA crashes even just by connecting the powerplug...not right by time...but after some hours. Then the screen freazes or it resets and show the Pin-input-page.
Why did the software timeout within some seconds? This is the question that bothers me. And how can I restore what the XDA seemed to have erased after losing the connection?
Thanks for helping
Hellmachine
Specifications:
Mobile: XDA Diamond
R: 1.00.25.05
G: 52.29.25.12H
D: 1.93.00.00
Really no one who had this problem before?
How can I fix it? I want to sell the phone because I can't upgrade it anymore. As I said, it is fully functional, but everytime I try to flash it again, the screen shows "White Noise" and the phone hangs.
Please, you guys programmed the upgrade and the tool...what happened here and why has there there a timeout after some seconds?
Thanks in advance
It has been over half a year now and no one ansered my thread. The phone still crashes and I want to get rid of it.
So, please. Some of you created the upgrade tool that crashed my phone...and no one can give me a hint how to recover it? This cannot be.
There must be a way to restore the original Software.
Kind regards

Bricked my device a second time !!!!

Help needed,
First time I "bricked" my device is about half a year ago.
I installed a ROM (ThaiHugo's age of reason) and after a BSOD in
Windows my Shift Windows Vista Side was broken. Windows Mobile did boot once in a while. Sent it in for free repair, they changed my motherboard and keyboard, and happy I was after.
Today I installed RomeOS Rom, the ROM istelf wasn't really performing well after installation (memory issues, see other post) but after
a few hard resets to see where the problem was (it seems activesync/pushmail) the device stopped booting WinMo alltogether.
So, I dunnit, I bricked my Shift a second time !
I tried hard reset from Vista using Shift Control Center
Tried soft reset from the control center.
Tried Removing the battery completely.
Tried some other things.
Havent tried ECSHift.exe as the link to cmonex site is dead.
Hope you guys want to post that file again ecshift.exe
It seems to be my last resort
------
UPDATE !! UPDATE !!
I download ECShift.exe. performed a mode0, a -reset and a -w (wakeup) and my screen is still black.
I can't seem to perform a task 28, what is the exact syntaxis ?
This is getting worse every minute, I expected with ECshift to restore it.
----------------------------------
UPDATE UPDATE
Ok...so I'm not jumping of the bridge.
It's working again, I managed to flash good ol' ThaiHugo's Age of Reason again.
What I had to do is do a ecshift.exe /bl (entered the bootloader)
Checked if the bootloader was really active with ecshift.exe /gm
Then , switched to WIndows 7 and customRUU thaihugo,
So', I''m back, after some really scary 3 hours. I''ll wait and see
if anyone else has problems with ROMEOS ROM.
So the conclusion is its not bricked
Actually this happened to me many times when i'm testing ROMeO_S
but i dont get worried because I believe cmonex 200% with her HardSPL.
v1_01 has been running with my machine almost 3 days with push enabled both live & exchange server w/o any lock/hang/resets.
Could it be that I clicked on the Pagepool changer once ? I clicked on it, then closed it.
Did that change my ROM ? I just tested again and I don't think I did. One has to really go in and change a value in order to be able to save.
I wonder what the difference is. Another user has posted my exact issues wth this ROM too. I hope you want to keep developing, as it's one of the best looking ROM's today.

Xperia stuck on loading

Hi guys,
I've got a bit of a problem with my friends X1...
A while ago I updated my X1 to WM6.5 and it works perfect...
But last week my friend asked me to update her phone as well, so I did
Now here's the problem:
After updating, the phone got stuck on loading, it didn't even get past the SE screen...
Turned it on and off for a couple of times, soft reset, hard reset, nothing worked...
I was still able to get the phone in the tri-colour screen, so I did, and I installed a stripped down version of WM6.5
And it worked!
But this afternoon she called me up to say that the phone was having problems again.
She often can't turn it on, and when she can it seems as if it has lost all of its memory again, comletely blank as if you just got it out of the box... (So you have to setup your screen again, the time and date etc...)
I did it exactly as id did mine, and mine still works perfect...
What could have gone wrong?
First I put Hard-SPL on the device.
Then I used the rom update utility from christian-web.nl/sections.php?section=Xperia_rom (I used version 3.810)
And thats it!
Does somebody have any idea what could be the problem?
Thanks,
Rob
A few days back I read somewhat of the same story, about the phone hard resetting by itself. Can't recall where, but it was somewhere in the Xperia section of this forum.
Did you do a hard reset after flash? Or maybe task29 before flashing her phone?
Try the hard reset first and see if that helps.
