I've got a bit of a problem with my friends X1...
A while ago I updated my X1 to WM6.5 and it works perfect...
But last week my friend asked me to update her phone as well, so I did
Now here's the problem:
After updating, the phone got stuck on loading, it didn't even get past the SE screen...
Turned it on and off for a couple of times, soft reset, hard reset, nothing worked...
I was still able to get the phone in the tri-colour screen, so I did, and I installed a stripped down version of WM6.5
And it worked!
But this afternoon she called me up to say that the phone was having problems again.
She often can't turn it on, and when she can it seems as if it has lost all of its memory again, comletely blank as if you just got it out of the box... (So you have to setup your screen again, the time and date etc...)
I did it exactly as id did mine, and mine still works perfect...
What could have gone wrong?
First I put Hard-SPL on the device.
Then I used the rom update utility from christian-web.nl/sections.php?section=Xperia_rom (I used version 3.810)
And thats it!
Does somebody have any idea what could be the problem?

A few days back I read somewhat of the same story, about the phone hard resetting by itself. Can't recall where, but it was somewhere in the Xperia section of this forum.
Did you do a hard reset after flash? Or maybe task29 before flashing her phone?
Try the hard reset first and see if that helps.

In the past couple of weeks, i have had to perform a number of soft resets as my Kaiser was hanging. I didnt think much of it, putting it down to probably low memory.
However today it hung again whilst in IE and so i did a soft reset. Then it would boot only to the 'smart mobility' screen showing

D 1.81.00.00
I started to get worried as it would not proceed past that screen. I tried several more soft resets and then decided to remove my 2gb microSD card, which helped it boot to WM6.
It would not show that the phone was connected to the network although the wifi was connected ok. I tried disabling the phone in the comm manager but that made no difference.
I then removed the SIM and it recognised that it was missing and shut down in 10 seconds.
I re-insterted the sim, but it still saw no network.
Then a number of other errors came up, such as quickdial.exe is missing, as well as a few others.
When i inserted the MicroSD back in it started to load and most recently 'should we disable phone alarm' at next start. Which i could not click as it had hung again.
Now, with or without the MicroSD or Sim it is back hanging at the 'smart mobility screen' again.
What should i do?

First thing in such cases is a hardreset.
Yep, just doing that as you posted.
I really wanted to avoid doing that though.
Well, its done now, and now to re-install everything.
What do you thing was the fault? or cause for the hang ups.

Some software or setting you've done, or it was simply Murphys Law:
When the mistake could happen, it will happen
Should i upgrade the radio at this point?
Its like with PCs, u need to reinstall your operation system from time to time.

I turned it on, it booted right through then just like a stuck button it started to cycle through most programs starting and closing. The search engine starts up then it starts to write mmmmn.nmnm.mnnm. eee. and then stops .... ok this is just a few of the things it does.
Ok first I have soft booted and the same thing ... then I tried a hard reset ... guess what it will not hard reset. Yes two soft keys with the soft reset pushed in ..... but nothing!
Is there any other way to do a hard reset. I have no clue what is happening??

Hi:
You can go into start/settings/system/clear storage. That will hard reset your device.
EDIT: Oops, sorry I missed your last line. Please disregard my post
I have a big problem.....
My phone hung this morning on the alarm. It kept on going. So I turned off the phone. A few hours later I booted up the phone again but it didn't boot to the os... it is stuck in the 3 colored bootloader screen
I tried reflashing the original WM6.1 rom. It worked.... until the cusomization had ran. After the customization reboot there was the bootloader again.....
Can anyone help me on this?

First thing I'd do, is a bulk standard Hard reset on the phone. if it crashes again on the customise, then hard reset again, and soft reset before the customise kicks in.
alternatively, if you're happy to try a custom ROM, then flash it to a new one.
if these dont work, then its time to approach HTC, and see if you can get it repaired...
I allready did a hard reset after flashing my tytn and a soft reset before getting the customization screen. But every time it boots up and it wants to configure my phone. So I cannot get arround the cusomization
While re-flashing my TyTN II to the Orange WM 6.1 Test ROM I did the reset before the customisation...and what happens the phone resets itself to default. It seems that the operators have found a way to make sure that their customisations are added.
Mine is purchased without a account. So there should be no provider **** on it..... It's a realy weird problem though....
Could it be dirt??? I left the battery out for a few hours and it works for a short time. Putted my sim card back in and it stopped working. Reboot and it worked again for a short time but after te next reboot its over again and it wil not come back again. I now plan to leave the battery out for the night see how it is in the morning...

I've got the same problem.
Although I'm able to restart successfully the Kaiser randomly.
If you pay attention to the tricolor screen... it blanks the screen for a very short moment. Precisely in that moment, a message is written in the screen
" No imgafile file found! "
And then went back immediatley to the tricolor screen.
My Kaiser is HTC orginal, updated with the original HTC ROMWINDOWS MOBILE 6.1. I did not nothing special to it, I treated always it carefully... It seems a random Hardware problem. HTC is an awfull brand.
Now I have to go to HTC service... they will get my phone for a couple of months at least.... and I know (from previous experiencies) they work very very badly (they can give your phone back even broken!!)
Conclusion... HTC never more.
Did have the same problem. Asked and RMA to HTC. Shipped the phone on june 30th. Phone came back repaired yesterday !
This morning... the %$* red green blue reappear when I soft reset the unit.
Not very reliable, will have to buy another phone.
This is the second time in two days.
After upgrading my Diamond to official ROM 1.93 ITA it happened for the second time (so far) that it crashed while it was in standby. I couldn't receive calls/sms nor turn it on pushing the power button. I had to remove battery, wait a few seconds and then re-insert it soft-resetting the device.
Did anyone experienced the same problem ?
I've never had such a problem on the 1.93 WWE ROM.
Work Ok for me no problem so far, did you make a hard reset after you flash the rom? I allways make that after a flash even twice
I installed the .93 official ITA rom from HTC site three days agò and no problem so far.
I have had also one 'hang' when the device came out of stand-by. The screen was messed up and the device hang completely. I did it a soft reset and it worked again.
Take out Sim Card and hard reset.

My diamond keeps resetting itself to the splashscreen page and goes no further. I try to hard reset and it will just get me to the same splash screen as I got before and it won't go any further into the hard reset.
I think that if i can get it to do the hard reset, that i would be ok and be able to get rid of the ROM that seemed to cause this situation. I had last put SwiftBL-WWE-Diamond-v7-0-Full-16MbPP on my unit and this started happening right after it was done.
I am open to any suggestions that any of you have for me. I haven't been without a phone or my pda for many years and don't know how long i can go without before happens.

The problem with your phone is that you used a rom that is intended for the GSM version Diamond, and the Sprint one you got is a CDMA, so there's no SIM card in the Diamond you got. You should just try to get into bootloader and go from there...
sorry, wasn't able to find a thread that addressed this. I can't get into bootloader. any idea's how to get into it other than the vol down/reset?
Nevermind. Sprint is sending me a new one. they said it was looped and nothing can be done.
Hey everyone, I hope I'm not utilizing this posting section wrong.
Anyways, I just wanted to put out there that I think* that there is a problem with the kfortouchpro app (I apologize if this problem has been noted before). I dunno if it has to do with the rom I installed (RRE Fuze 4.2 hybrid, which is one of my faves) or if there is just something wrong with my phone.
The Problem:
After playing with Pocketsnes or Morphgear. If I forget to turn M$ IME back to t9, and then reset the device, the device would not boot to the today screen. When the device is reset, it will show the at&t logo, but then the next screen would remain black (the back light is on tho).
I've tried resetting several times and also did so with the bootloader screen. But none of them worked.
So annoyingly, I had to flash my rom to get the phone working again (had to do this 5 time already!!).
I even flashed first with stock rom then custom rom.
If anyone knows how to get that the today screen back after such an incident. Please let me know. And if anyone knows what exactly is wrong please do tell.

hey guys got my tilt yesterday and falshed it with the diamond touch pro rom i also had s2u2 lockscreen enabled, well i plugged my phone in the charger last night i woke up and the touchscreen didnt work at all, first i soft reset the phone to no avial, then hard reset and now im stuck, the phone powers up to the welcome setup and cant get past it due to no touchscreen
heres what ive done to try to fix
soft reset
hard reset
changed the radio settings to 1.65
reflashed with htc 6.1 rom
any help would be appreciated also could somone let me kno if they think i should redo the hard sbl

this is very weird, alot of people are having the same problem at the same time, I too am having that problem, I have never put a custom rom on my phone, my my touch creen also has stopped working, I've tried hard re-setting it, and that didn't work its just stuck on the stylus set-up screen, and then i even tried to hard flash the HTC kaiser rom again, same results.
