Somebody have a tool what can change the imei number in my Qtek 9000
Any tool to change IMEI in the Nike?
Hi
Any have a similar program, or anything to do the same on OMNIA i900? I need chege the imei.
Pleaseee Help me
Guys, READ the POST: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276851.
Really, read it carefully, no matter what you do to your IMEI it may be illegal in your country, and may carry serious jail time as a penalty, the 'i'm repairing my imei, not changing it' argument makes no difference in some countries.
it dont matters if you change your imei...nobody goes to jail! it doesnt matters anyone! the only thing you loose is your warranty.
The Problems are the Providers...
some providers didnt check the imei at lock up in the cellular-net.
with these you can use the phone like you want. in germany only D2 Vodafone and T-Mobile check the imei. if you use e-plus or other nothing will be happen.
otherwise you cant lock in the cellular-net, so you have no reception.
Deleting Imei is a great way to use sim-locked devices! but only if you have e-plus as provider
This is nonsense, changing the IMEI is NOT illegal or amon_ra and all the others who make custom recovery img or custom versions of os's that were not released officially for the resp. devices (Cyanogen e.g.) would do time! It COULD void your waranty ... brick the phone ... kill your dog ... cause the third world war , but it CAN'T be illegal!
I have researched this and here in the United States it is NOT illegal to change the IMEI number.
So with that being said if anyone knows of a way to do it on a Galaxy TAB please let me know because right now T-Mobile is filtering certain services based on the IMEI number which is really lame. Just like your ISP can't tell you which brand and model of computer to use with their service I don't think T-Mobile should be dictating what services people can use and how much they charge for them based solely on the device they are using. They should be honoring all GSM devices that are compatible with their network the same.
People on AT&T have been doing this for years because if they see you have an iPhone IMEI they automatically tac on a more expensive data plan just because you have THAT particular phone.
Seconded. While I use a Nook Color, the devs haven't fixed a randomly generating IMEI. I'm looking for a program that you can run before IMEI-sensitive applications to set the IMEI to a specific value to avoid incompatibility issues.
It's much easier to say who can do
Do not know why when it comes to this forum imei some users say it is illegal would be easier to assume that they do not know how to accumulate again and add the answers forum with useless, cretinous and trash

yes it's true, but unfortunately it is only for devices with android system
if for WinMo maybe can try JAFWM
changing IMEI/ESN is 100% LEGAL !!!
unless you change the IMEI of the stolen phones, you might end up in jail
MOD EDIT: No it's not. Thread closed. IMEI changing is illegal.

I have a shiny new V1620 as Vodafone call it and I'm O2 bound.
Is it at all possible to simply update my device with the latest O2 compatible ROMs etcetera or would this just plain not work? Would this mean I could use an O2 SIM without any further unlock?
Also, does anyone else have the exact model I do as listed below, as I haven't read any topics about this specific model ID.
Thanks in advance guys.

I have the model with the 520Mhz processor, will that make any difference to the ROM I'm choosing?
Also it's not really clear that when I have updated my dvice if it will still be locked to Vodafone.

I HAVE SERIOUS FIRMWARE PROBLEM WITH MY PDA!!!
you have to be more specific if even want people to help...
Just screaming HELP will not fix your prolems...
tell us what the problem is , what oeperator you are using, what do you mean sim free....
SIM free is not a option , you will need to run the lokiwz version .3 and get the unlock code
other than that all the ROMS are available on FTP ftp.xda-developers.com user id xda password xda...
feel free to help yourself.
OK
PDA already accepts any network, i been having software problems eg software freezes!
here are my device info -
rom - 1.5.4.2 wwe
rom date - 11/08/05
radio version - 01.09.10
protocol version - 4.0.13.20
ext rom - 1.5.4.102
if this is anymore help!!
Thanks for ur initial reply!!!
depending on what operator you use and you can logon to the FTP site and download the latest rom from there... Cingular and Tmobile i know have release newer versions in the last few weeks...
When you login goto WIZARD folder and then look under ROMS there are a whole bunch of providers...
When you say software freezes, you have to be more specific what third party s/w you are using it could be one of those that is causing the pain...
i have managed to get into the download section found the correct files!

There's no simple way of changing the IMEI (and in some countries it's Illegal).
A cooked rom won't change it.
there's two text files that may be of interest in the OEM/operatorpkg folders in most of the roms.
ModelName.txt
and
custinfo.txt
First just contains the name of the device (x1i or x1a)
2nd contains for example
Software Id=1213-6450
Software Version=R2AA008
Customization Id=1215-1832
Customization Version=R20A
Customization Variant=GENERIC_UK
Content Version=PA10
which is the rom version, it's pretty obvious then that this is R2AA008
Both these files are in windows, so you could try changing them if you need to.
There's also a HKLM/system/versions
Thanks Fards for the reply. I actually not even sure that these info is what causing the software to fail. Whats interesting is they only work on Generic UK ROMs, R1 or R2. But they give me errors like "this software has expired" on any other custom ROM.
I will give it a try.
use ur
sn
and modify it as follows
for uk use HT846xxxxxxx
for french use
HT850xxxxxxx
or HT851xxxxx
in above cases xxxxxx represents ur rest of SN
try it and post rest of codes for other countries
but i have not installed it on my phone yet as i have to retore my Original SPL
then have to use USPL for flashing i guess
I'm sorry but you have completely lost me!!
What is the point of this? Explain? What is SN?
its serial number found at back of HD under battery
SN is your HTC Touch HD serial number. It's located under the battery on a label with all the information about the phone (IMEI,S/N,P/N, made in, etc.).
This SN is used in this form:
HTML:
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=179&cat=2&dl_id=533
The serial number is under your IMEI number and it's look something like this:
S / N:HTxxxxxxxxxx
(before and after this line there are barcodes)
where x is some number or alphabet. So if your SN is let say:
HT620KD27521
You have to change it to:
HT846KD27521
so HTC servers think that your phone is from UK. That's all of it.
As far as I know last # to the left represents manufacturing year, and next 2 digits represent the week number
Are you sure to change the first digits?
pw120 found out this schema...
HT849KD07500 UK
HT849KD07000 Europe
HT849KD01000 Dutch
HT849KD04000 French
HT848KD02000 Swedish
HT846KD04000 Norwegian
HT846KD05000 Finnish
HT846KD05500 Italian
i was not not sure because i tried my sn with different combinations and got Rom files for different languages
HT845KDo5800
is for orange uk

If Dutty's Rom is not giving you any problem at all, stick with it. You may download and keep the latest ROM for future upgrading when you hit problem in Dutty's Rom as you install more programs.

Exactly, why would anyone Supply their s/n, whats it needed for. Internet is a sharing world, but its also a corrupt world.
It's for downloading the officially released roms from the HTC site when they come out. If I remember, HTC's site requires you to enter your s/n just to see the entire list of downloads for a given phone. The reason for asking for each country is that the phones are released in each of these markets with a different set of serials, which (for language, legal, and carrier reasons) prevents customers from downloading a ROM that's not intended for their phone.
The reason for asking/posting on here and having a full list is that people can:
a) keep an eye out for new roms without relying on the owners from that particular country to check regularly
b) make it easy for owners of a phone with a different country's serial to get the new rom, which can then be flashed on if they have HardSPL. Some people do this because they want to have the latest features while still using official roms (not sure what they have against cooked roms, but each to their own.)

I agree. We've never had a problem before of HTC roms not been published on xda developers. I can't see a need for this.

I don't really want to get myself involved in a discussion on this, especially since I was just answering a question, not advocating...but...Really? Never seen problems?
I know that leaked roms have become very common lately, and I agree, there's no reason that the roms can't or shouldn't be placed somewhere else so that they are more readily and reliably available...but I know that I can find several threads that are filled with people asking/looking for serial numbers to use on HTC's site to download some official rom or another. If I recall, the Diamond had a lot of times where official roms were really slow to become available on here (to the order of days or possibly weeks).
I agree that public posting of serials is not the best solution even if the leaked roms somehow stopped appearing. But I don't see a good reason that a few of the more skilled and dedicated shouldn't have a collection of serials so they can easily check the site regularly.

I never saw the Diamond Problems (I'm not arguing that there could have been some) nor have I seen a massive number of SN requests. But that's just my personal experience - I can't be everywhere
Leaked ROMs never appear on HTC.com so that's a different kettle of fish.

Never had the problem with the blackstone either.
OP,
Maybe it's a good idea not to post the complete personal Data of a persons Serial number.
Put in a Few XX's.
And also i would not ever recommend anyone to, and can understand if someone doesn't, just give up his serial number.
Let it be a lesson from the past that it is any members Call to Re upload a downloaded official Rom and post it to the Wiki.
It's a nice effort, but having peoples Serial numbers is a touchy subject that we need to talk about as the moderation team.
Closing the thread for now.
