AT&t tilt is all I thought and more

You guys will have the chance very soon to purchase this great devive and you will absolutely love it.
ok grandma
How much did U pay for that tilt? And what do U like most about it? Did U have a Hermes before it?
hermes
Ive had the 2125, 3125, 8125, 8525 actually I was choosen because of my data knowledge and it is for company official use and I am probably going to buy one as well. and thanks for the grandma post I just figured I would let everyone know to be prepared.
tilt
And it was a promotional gift and actually, the thing I like about it is the performance of the dual processor which makes the multitasking amazing. The other thing is the gps is awesome it is something that will make your head spin. Camera quality is also nice and with 3g its a beast and with the network enhancement coming soon it will be a phone to contend with.

Network enhancment ?? are you referring to faste HSPDA?
What could be so nice about an integrated GPS chip that will make our heads "spin" ?
In my opinion integrated GPS, means I don't have to carry an extra gadget
with me... that's it.
kind of a stretch to call it a "dual core" processor
i think it would be more accurate to say it's got one processor for the windows mobile side, and one processor for the radio side

Wow... that was insightful. I don't mean to be a jerk, but you realize that the Tilt is a crippled version of the Kaiser (4550) and they've been out for a while. Unless you have something to offer like an official release date or what it has that the Kaiser doesn't, this thread may as well be closed. We *ALL* already know what the Kaiser is and what the Tilt lacks.

Yeah. It would be best to describe it as a "radio coprocessor".
It will probably result in zero improvement if not transferring data, very little if you're on an EDGE network. Probably the only situation one would notice any significant difference would be HSDPA.
No i noticed better performance all around from the radio after getting my Kaiser it makes the web load faster and emails send quicker! this should have been done in the hermes! I wuld say web pages load twice as fast! It almost feels like HSUPA has already been rolled out here in NYC with how fast this thing uploadeds.

Geez, maybe we should have a public flogging for this guy LOL. "The thread is titled "at&t tilt is all I thought and more" considering hes the first to get one that I have heard of I am glad to hear some things confirmed such as gps. I for one appreciate his posting some feedback on a device we with at&t are waiting for. Im simply saying give the guy a break and let him enjoy his new phone.
Your probably right Sw but if you look at some of his other posts he claims to be an Att mgr but he bought an 8525 and than bought a Rom off ebay than asked how to include Ptt in the Rom so he could tell the office the next day. So maybe thats the way AT&T works but I kind of doubt it. So there lies my skeptisism.

released roms
Roms in any company are not released to all in the company until tech support runs them on a trial basis. If you purchase your on device you can change the roms as you see fit, otherwise the one the company gives you is for company use. Read the part.. I just thought I would tell everyone that it is coming out because I like this site. You guys are treating me like I am misinforming you due to any company policy it is not in anybody's interest to release other details. I have a family to take care of telling all about it could jepardize my job. If I knew that I would get this response I would have never posted. Well I hope whenever you get one to all those complaining that you enjoy it and as far as the dual processor goes that is the way it was positioned to us. And for your knowledge point of view I have a bs in CIS/Math if I had time I would right my own roms, hacks, etc. But when you have kids other things come to mind. And as I said I use this sight for a reference I don't have THE TIME to right and test my own roms. Thanks for making a new guy feel welcome though. (Sorry about the spelling wasn't happy with reads on the post) But when it comes down to it I still have a tilt

roms arent available to everyone in the company... well they are, but you have to be smart enough to know where to find them... chances are that 99% of att wireless employees dont know where to find the pre-public roms.. they arent beta, but their not public either.. and even being a manager doesnt mean you get your phones for free, hell employees deals arent all that great..

Thank you, but can you tell us(or me) if the GPS is locked to using only a specific software or can it be used by any navigation software i.e. Tom Tom?

is teh kaiser right for me?

i live in usa and will be looking at getting a tilt. at the moment i have a 8525(hermes) i like this phone but its not quite enough for me. i seek a better camera more memory and gps functionality. i really wanted the imate 9502 but with consistant delays and no esimated release date i am having trouble waiting.
so i look to the kaiser. would this be a good phone for me or will i be dissapointed?
normally I help with these kinds of questions but damn, this info is all over the place. please search
Eric's right. Do your research, and remember AT&T has a 30 day return period. If you buy the Tilt and decide you don't like it make sure you take it back to the store and exchange it before your 30 days are up.

thanx Mods =)
9. Help others if you can
OK, you can post that message now. If you see posts from others where you can help out, please do. This place exists because people are helping eachother, and even if you are relatively new to the matter, there's probably already quite a few people newer than you that would benefit from what you've learned. Don't be shy.
it would have been nice to just hear a quick summary of your thoughts comparing the 8525 to the 8925. after reading i have received mixed messages about the kaiser.
my opinion so far is that it has too many problems with it to be worthwhile and i should wait for something better.

8925 tilts, 8525 doesn't.
8925 camera and default video player are not as good as 8525.
8925 has GPS, 8525 doesn't.
8925 is faster for basic business productivity apps.
Let me know if I left anything out.

1 up that one!
you can never compare the cameras of HTC devices to Sony ericsson's or something like the n82's, but of the HTC devices i've owned (4 i think it is) the kaisers is the best because of the autofocus...
Why close the thread ? Its a valid question.
because there is a search function

Because there are already numerous threads about the camera... Please post there instead of creating a new thread.
Well I did have a look but most thread here seem to be in 'Jargon' and very very hard to understand to mere mortals like me, so I asked in plain English.
Seemed to have worked as well as I got the answer I was after.
Hahaha, good on you WelshBorg. When something's as crap as this camera, there's no such thing as saying it too much.
Hi, i have installed 'Nadavi's new Camera fixed cab' and functionally its a whole lot better. only thing is, i would like to use the gpr camera part but menu just hangs on 'Initializing GPS...' The orange gps light is flashing so it is on and i have no other problems with gps for routing and visual gps is ok. is there something else i have to do to get it to work? thanks for any help
Best start a new thread, but use plain English, lets fight 'jargonisum'
Together we can win
As already stated there are quite a few threads on the camera, fixes, cabs etc.
This however is the upgrading (for which read development) forum and adding cabs to improve things is not a development matter.
There are now questions about GPS not locking on - again not a development matter.
For these reasons I am closing this threadand would guide those interested in the subject to use the regular Kaiser forum not least because that's where most of the relevant threads exist already.

New I-mate has same Qualcomm chip as TyTN II, but with video drivers....

read this first, bottom of the page (last 2 posts):
http://www.corecodec.com/forums/index.php?topic=940.0
Anyone think we might have a chance of getting these video drivers to work with the TyTN II?
Lets say deep down inside I hope the likelihood is good. But To prevent myself from being disappointed on this I've taken a pessimistic attitude. They found some in the Sedna I believe and it didn't quite work.
I have had made a topic about this
as usual i would keep my keep my fingers crossed with an optimistic attitude..
but life on kaiser has been so harsh to me..when it comes to the drivers issue that is..
that like jimmymcgee, i too have taken a pessimistic stand on this =(

...I'm considering getting another phone to replace the Diamond.

The Diamond has been with me ever since it was released in June, but there always seems to be this or that issues with every ROM release.
I'm considering the E71 as a replacement...but also trying to hold off on the purchase to see will the Diamond improve anytime soon.
Issues with my Diamond:
Accelerometer
Alarm sound not repeating
Memory leak
why everybody that think about changing the diamond feel the urge to announce it in a new thread that is coming to become a mess like all the same threads on the same subject? why? you are a senior member, you should know better.
i recommend you to read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=415852
and afterward do what u please. no big deal...good luck!
please keep the forum clean!
I "Should"? "Senior" member doesn't mean jack as it's only post count related.
I don't see why that thread is recommended...maybe I'm missing something?

and... ? This was so important that you had to open a new post?
Buy E71 and Good Bye Or maybe I should try to convince you not to do it or something
I will open a new post tomorrow saying what I've ate at lunch :]
The forum will be then definitely more readable.
100% AGREE wit KukurikU.
Simply the fact that this thread is useless, doesn't bring any information, plus the facts cited are plainly wrong in my experience.
That's all you're missing. Good bye and good luck with your new phone. The corresponding forum awaits you.
Hum...why even bother to reply to a useless thread?
Why have the urge to convince someone that your view is more correct than others?

"contribute" in the form of "useful information": no.
But I do have a question: With all the devices from HTC in the past, do they perform better over time, with newer ROM releases? Does HTC bother much with ROM updates even after the launch of each product? I guess I should have posted the "question" in the first post of this thread...but then again...it wouldn't be considered as useful information. Given this, it's why I'm trying to hold off my other purchase.
P.S. Not directed at anyone, but, some people on these forums just have a "I'm better than you" complex and have the urge to reply to threads saying "why start a new thread". Geez...just don't reply to it, it'll eventually be history and move itself down the list of threads. Unless you're the administrator concerning with storage issues.
i want my 2 mins back...
well I dont have a problem with the Accelerometer or the Alarm sound not repeating, and the memory leak for me stabilises at 70% and stuff works fine and fast 4 me even then... go buy you symbian device if you want and perhaps get an iphone while your at it, good luck and good bye.
Leave the guy alone!
chatbox, i too just got the E71 after having the DIamond since its release, infact i think this will be my last Windows Mobile Phone well at least till windows 7 comes out.
I got so sick & tired of every rom, having either issues, or being slow at "certain" tasks & also the fact that with WMP's you need 2-3 steps to do the same task in 1 step on say a Nokia. Also once you use hard buttons like the keyboard on E71 you'll hate touch screen keyboard were its slow & many mistakes.
I will though miss flashing roms & trying diffrent tweaks in the registery etc..etc..
But honestly its a phone & i need 3 major tasks in a phone.
Simple, Fast & stable.
If u try the E71, i promise u wont regret it bro.
I think chatbox is desperately trying to find some solution for diamond problems he is suffering from using this thread. A last try just before leaving the boat.
I dont tink that is wrong from him. After all this community forum is all about assisting each other. If he is asking for help or openion that will not mess up the forum
Senior Members... we highly appreciate your contributions to make or lives easier using diamond and making this forum the most comprehensive information / tools source all over the web however dont expect that all other members are as good as you in the know-how issue so please bear with us
Cheers
