Sorry that I post the same thread twice, just need it to be solved as soon as possible.
Hi everyone, I just flash my SPV M700 to WM6, don't know what version it is, just show these when soft reset: R 1.16.00.00; G 32.53.7018.01H; D 3.00.
I have installed the latest TOMTOM 6.03, which supports built in GPS.
But I tried this GPS outdoor and never get connected. Always "NO GPS DEVICE".
I don't know if there anything wrong with this phone or if my setting is wrong.
I went into "external GPS",then "programs" to COM3, "Hardware" to COM9 and 115200,click on "Manage GPS automatically";
then I run TOMTOM 6.03, go to GPS status, configure the receiver to "Built in GPS receiver", go outdoor for 10 minutes. Always saying "NO GPS DEVICE!". about to be crazy....Plz could anyone help me?
Your radio is version 1.16, you´ll need to upgrade it to activate your gps, which is currently de-activated - choose radio version 1.46 or 1.50 - find it on the forum.

No settings will be lost when only upgrading the radio. When done upgrading the radio, TomTom will find the GPS with the setting you provided.

tx man, prob is i can't flash radio.
got it solved though. Yes it's the problem of the radio, and seems that if your hard SPL version is 1.30, you are not able to flash the radio. everytime it seemed works but after flash the radio just remain the same.

I just bought the IMATE PDA2K and i am still exploring the device. The first problem i found is that i have a NAVMAN navigation software including the reciever model GPS 4410. I cant connect via bluetooth in the running software and have a fix on the satellite. On the bluetooth manage i can connect and the system finds it. Please can someone help me in this. I am running the second edition of microsoft windows.
I don't know if it might fix your problem but you should look at the imate club site in order to install the new ROM. In the ROM there are some fixs concerning the bluetooth (waiting time and more devices found), battery and other issue.
There have been a lot of negative feedback (check the imate forum to know more) regarding this new rom.
There should be also a One-off patch to fix just the Bluetooth problem (it shoud be available also on this site).
You should just "cook" your own Rom. That way, you can build your own rom just to suit your needs....not everyone's needs in general.
I too have a PDA2K but am running the 1.3.51 WWE w/WMP10, radio version 1.10, B/T build version 3900, w/Siemens SX 66 extended rom from this site. You can use an extended rom of your choice. I use the Cingular ext rom, as my service is with them.
That would help solve alot of your gps and b/t issues.
Do a bit of reading in the "extended rom kitchen" regarding this. There is a wealth of info to be found in this site.
Later...... 8) 8) 8)

hdbueller,
I’ve got a PDA2k and am on Cingular. I’ve been pulling my hair out with this thing trying to figure out how to get a better ROM installed. When I try to install the latest Siemens ROM (with the hack to get past the Country Code Error) I get stopped up with an ERROR 100: DEVICE ID ERROR.
The ROM you describe sounds perfect. Any chance I can score a copy?
The rom has a header with the device ID in it, the seimens is PH20B1 if you downloaded the orginal rom, your device is a PH20B, thus the error.
Back on the ftp site there is a hacked version, lot of people played with it but then went back.
Next there is the thred with media player 10 in it, think this was another cooked version dont remeber what the base was for that rom, think it was the imate EDVO. Lot of reading, get the "final" version, also on ftp.
hello, iv got an xda2i and iv had it for about a year, i think its a a cracking pda, i removed the o2 active software when i first got it, by clicking no on the intial startup of the phone, iv installed various few other apps, including tom tom sat nav, iv seen on another thread about if i update my rom i cud increase the infra red capability, but what i want to know is, if i update my rom will i loose the prgrams which are installed on my pda? (as i dont think i have the paperwork for my tom tom anymore) and also what benefits will i get by updating my rom?? any information on 'modding' my xda wud be greatly appreciated
thankyou
...If you upgrade everything you installed on the xda2i is lost because your register settings are also lost. Only programs installed on SDCARD will work afterwards, allthough you've got to re-register them afterwards (the system will automatically ask you for it)...
...about increased capabilities, i don't know, but there're a lot of people who can help you further, but therefor, you've got to tell what kind of ROM you've got and which one you want to use to upgrade...
ok, well i have
ROM version 1.10.00 WWE
ROM date 12/24/04
Radio version 1.00.00
Protocol version 1337.39
ExtROM version 1.10.124 WWE
all of my programs are installed in storage on the phone, i think i have the serials for everything but my tom tom, i think iv still got the program but i dont have the serial number for it anymore, will i loose my tom tom if i dont have this or can i get it some how??
Whats a good rom and what will i do! (sorry im a newb!!)
...almost every program shows registerkey in the 'about menu'. So you just have to look for it.
About upgrading you can find a lot of info around these posts...

Hi,
I upgraded a Cingular SX66 unit using maupgradeut_noid and the latest AKU 3.5.2 WM5 ROM. Afterward, I had no radio ROM so I updated to the 1.15.00 release. However, my phone is still unable to make/receive calls or data (with multiple good SIMs.) It appears the radio ROM is having issues with this WM5 package because sometimes on hard restarts the boot screen lists R: and G: as NONE, but after a soft reboot they usually show the correct versions.
I searched and can't find any postings about this type of behavior. Nothing useful to report from the phone other than it says "phone is not ready" and "no service" with a good SIM.
I have several of these PDAs that I want to distribute to my internal staff with WM5 so they don't have to learn WM2003 (all of our other devices are WM5 or WM6.) Any recommendations on a procedure to test the radio ROM or a different combination of OS and radio ROMs?
Thanks for the help.
PS. running getdevicedata.exe yields the following:
PH20B1 WWE A %CID? 5.35.05. 1.15.00 % 4
downgrade to wm2003 and try to flash again radio 1.15 and post the results

Take it easy
all BA HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS YOU DESRIBLE
IF YOU USE WM2003 THE PROBLEM WILL DISAPPEAR~ SO,JUST SOFT RESET
YOUR PHONE EVERY TIME YOU CHANGE YOUR BETTERY!!
just one softreset, and when you need to charge, charge it when it reaches the 40%, etc, just don't take out the battery, or you will have to softreset it again for the radio work.
it is just the same with mine sx66, and i don't care at all.
Thanks for the notes...I kind of learned the soft reset 'fix' on my own, a little disappointing but I guess we're stuck with it. Why would I want to downgrade my phone to 2003? The whole point was to move to WM5 so my users and support team all work with the same interface.
Of course...my next project is to find out why SMSplus works on 8525 phones and not 8125 (standard Cingular OS load.) Might have to upgrade the 8125s to WM6 (sigh)
Hey folks.
Got a Vodafone Compact GPS and unlocked the device for images.
Since that moment GPS function had been not available anymore (TOMTOM).
After a while i flashed a new Image (bepe 0.79 full) - same ****.
I tried to flash the radio rom 1.46.30.11 - FAILED... Don't know why!
Finally I flashed radio rom 1.46.00.11 successfully - but still the same.
Settings are:
GPS-Programdevice GPD1
Hardware Device COM9 (115200 or 4800 BAUT)
Is there any tool that gives me some mor information about GPS connectivaty? By now I only know that TOMTOM, GOGGLEMAPS or WiFiFoFum is not working....
Thanks for any reply,
Bjoern

Hi,
My GPS no longer working after patch ROM to WWE_1.82.707.0 (RUU_Kaiser_DOPODASIA_WWE_1.82.707.0_radio_sign_22.51.88.13_1.27.15.32_Ship.exe).
I tried both MapKing R12 and Garmin XT and also tried changing the registry, GpsGate and so on, still can not work.
The GPS light is flashing but MapKing and Garmin can not find the GPS device.
Can any guru help out here?
Details:
ROM version: 1.82.707.0 WWE
ROM date: 11/03/07
Radio version 1.27.15.32
Protocol version 22.51.88.13H
mine is working properly. Just try again in open sky. Be patience, it takes more time on first lock.
I tried but still can not, when I use MapKing to search for GPS, it manage to open the COM 4, but return "No GPS Found!"
Any feedback?
Hi, I had the same problem but with TomTom Navigator on a Kaiser. I tried all setting possibilities but nothing helped. After a hard reset, it was OK with automatic settings, nothing to change. Hope it helps.
try flashing a different rom and see if the problem still exists.
p.s. please avoid double posts about same topic !!
I flash back to ROM 1.81.707.0, still having the same problem. Should I go for WM6.1?
