So there been a few threads on the Kaiser on O2. It seems to becoming in December:
http://shop.o2.co.uk/ComingSoon
me like the silveryness
weird though i ran the upgrade line and they are still convinced its avilable from today
as far as i know, the retentions department tend to release phones to upgrade customers earlier than the official release date, if they have the phone in stock already.
but right now, stocks not in yet...
i am due a upgrade and didnt think this was coming to 02. It meant to arrive today, can i just not except the phone and reorder the stellar? any ideas when i could get one?
Anybody else notice that O2 claim the Stellar includes an FM Radio?
I called them up today and they said it was being released tomorrow :S
So...
Is it the Stella or Stellar?
Also, why silver? The black Exec was the coolest of all the Universal's that I saw.
The o2 gossip mill is on the roll again telling every one something different, as i rang up again after being promised it would be out this afternoon to now be told its been put back to the 26th . Im sure these guys are getting thier info off of the same websites we are looking at and posting on .
One guy basically told me they look at gsmarena to find out what available on there own network. Im guessing that tehre has been one too many leaks and all data is on a release day basis only. If only they actually looked at the whole thing and realised that giving accurate info will help reatain customers hell it may even bring people in if they thought there provider was being even a bit open with them.
right off to shout at a user
There I said it – let the flaming begin that there are too many similar posts.
But seriously – why keep the bad comments and opinions in one thread. You know what - HTC CEOs, VPs aren’t going to go through each thread and post to look for bad comments, because those guys don’t have enough time.
New guys who want to buy a new HTC device aren’t going to go through each thread either.
So bad comments / opinions need to be out there and be seen by everyone.
The problems with my HTC are: squeaky front/back plate. Scroll wheel pops out of its socket sometimes.
I was contemplating of getting the HTC Diamond – since it does look nice. But I’d rather spend my money on a new company which should be given a chance – Velocity Mobile http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=1287
http://www.velocitymobile.com – I think it looks pretty nice.
If something is made in china it’s probably crap, but when it’s designed and made in china .........
might as well purchase a CECT_P168
You’re joking right– CECT has garbage specs, they slapped together a bunch of parts, it doesn’t even have EDGE
Velocity on the other hand: Wm6.1/UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900/2100/Quad Band GSM/aGPS/MicroSD/2.5mm jack/miniUSB
what he was saying, was what you can pretty much expect from this "Velocity" cell phone. Garbage build quality, coupled along with legendary chinese customer service support!
Velocity Phone
Actually, the Velocity phone is quite nice looking, and has MicroSD card slot

correct that was exactly what I was saying. However, I did not feel a need to be straightforward with someone who posts threads titled "HTC-Bad Company-that doesn't respect it's customers"

Ok purchase the device and let us know how it works for you. If many considered purchasing this phone I am positive that some idiot out there will make a thread titled "Velocity-bad company-that doesn't respect it's customers"
Velocity is based in Seattle, WA, USA and London. That speaks for itself, the people hired here aren’t some 3rd rate designers/developers.
I will buy a Velocity and won’t set my expectations super high and you buy your next HTC and bend over.
Look at it this way: HTC is established company that just released a new Kaiser ROM and didn’t test that Skype works. WTF is that?

I understand. I saw the thread trashing HTC and I got upset. I had a long day and I am tired of seeing people trash HTC or the Kaiser because I love my device. In fact many users who own a Kaiser/Tilt who broke their previous one have bought a new device, which leads me to believe they too love their device. I apologize for my harshness but I am just really sick of these threads.
I reviewed the links you provided before I posted and the phone does look nice. However, their other device looks like a blackberry and one looks like a diamond. That alone would keep me away from making an initial purchase.
I hope you try the device and report back to us one day and prove me wrong.
*edit: I paid $210usd for a brand new tilt w/o a contract, no bending over here sir maybe you like to do that in your spare time.

Well atleast HTC DOES release new roms periodically. The improvements might not be phenomenal, but they are significant none the less. I've had a couple of sony ericcson's and motorola's and none of them have released firmware upgrades as much as HTC does.
SE declares a shelf life of 2 years for almost all devices, during which they release maybe 2 or 3 updates. I had an M600i and it was extrememly buggy, and practically ZERO response from SE made me return it.
Same goes for motorola, the only people doing something to improve the firmware on phones are the russians, who painstakingly develop all sorts of hacks/mods to make up for the bugs/missing features
So yeah, if you want to take your chances with a relatively new(i think?) company and trust them to release regular updates, go for it and let us all know!
Btw, as for the whole driver fiasco, honestly, how many of you would notice, and how many of you would complain if the dev's here did not discover and announce that the kaiser did not utilize the imageon hardware at all, and was infact crippled?
The order page currently states that the AT&T compatible version is unavailable. Does state temporarily. But has this happened before?
I mistakenly ordered a T-Mobile version but actually really think something malfunctioned in the order process since I clearly clicked the AT&T model and double checked it. The receipt stated the T-Mobile version though and I caught that too late to cancel it before it shipped.
It's going back to Google now. But I am now unable to order the AT&T model. Has this happened before? How long did it take to receive more? I'm curious because they've stated they're closing the web store and I'll be disappointed if I missed out because of a crappy mistake or technical glitch.
Edit: Post on page 2 gives confirmation that they aren't gone yet but are simply out of stock.
wow, that's interesting. its certainly new, as I ordered one thursday and got it today.
Sadly, I don't know if this has happened before though... :-/

This really bites, because I REALLY wanted to buy one today
If anyone knows anything, please do share... I sent off a message through the contact page, so I'll see if they get back to me.
It will be really hard to get one in Canada if they stop selling it...
First I heard of it being unavalible since launch. Could be because they are hashing the inventory getting froyo on shipping phones.
AFAIK google is taking down all N1's minus ones on contract, i heard that from one of the news sites a few weeks ago. Could be wrong tho.
I ordered mine Sunday evening and got it this morning; I hope they're not taking them down yet, I'm definitely enjoying this phone. Just afraid to flash ROMs and brick my phone. >.<
Flashing roms has never bricked an android phone...

I really hope that isn't true... I looked on ebay, and the prices for N1's are crazy... Rogers doesn't seem to get Android phones here until they're obsolete... And I refuse to get a phone with a fruit on it...

It is true. But they will not be taking them down yet. They said they would run the store for a long while yet, until the Nexus One is with carriers and in stores around the world. And still they said they would keep it up a while after even that happens.
Don't worry, the store is not going away for a long time.
hey OP, could you update this when you find out if this is permanent or not?
thanks

What he said.
Now flashing radio or SPL. That can brick your phone.
Yea, once I get solid info I'll update the original post to reflect what I find.
I still plan to order one if they become available as a development device. Was hoping for an AT&T version so I could swap sims with my iPhone and use whichever device fit my needs for the day.
I've been looking in to this as well. My girlfriend went to purchase one this evening after trying playing with mine for a few weeks and they are unavailable. I was aware Google was going to cease selling them online, but their blog post said the would first establish a presence in third-party retail outlets, then pull them from the store. Hopefully this is just a temporary shortage or something and not the end of the at&t Nexus One.
Edit: OP, I just stumbled across the answer to this on the Google Support Forums. A Google employee responded to this question saying they would have more in stock in the next few days. I'd post a link, but I'm too new lol

No worries on posting a link. I'll trust you since it makes sense based on what you said. I figured it was temporary but wanted to see if this was a normal thing or not.
I'll have to pick one up as soon as they become available. Thanks for the heads up

Bought mine last Wendnesday $500 shipped xD.
Interesting when I just did a search for LG Revolution 2.
I came across a link that I had to Google Translate. It's a long link due to the need to translate from whatever language it was in. (Sorry, I didn't care to figure that part out)..
EDIT: It was originally Spanish.

The Specs Are NICE and the photo's are included. At least what I hope to be the actual photo's. 1.5Ghz Dual Core?? Nice.. I want one!
What do others think about this page and such? Real or Not Real? Seems so, but interesting I can't see to come across the same in English....
I though it would be fun to start a new thread on this as there are even more rumors posted around the web that the Revo 2 is due for October 20th, stated also on this following page, dated 08/30/2011:
http://www.lg-phones.org/lg-revolution-2-visits-the-fcc-in-the-form-of-vs920.html
Sorry if this was already posted. Otherwise, though this would be a good thread to start on some Revo 2 Hype.
I also came across this (LG Revo 2 VS920 Accesories Page.)

While the supposed specs are nice, I do not see myself going LG again. I have not owned a samsung or moto phone. The razr is pretty seksay and the nexus is well, nice and straight android... I like the idea of an AOSP phone. Tough call. Might consider it if LG released it with android 4. I will for sure be waiting till a month or so after the release of any future phone I may purchase. See what kind of development community forms and what issues may present themselves. They will need to release it soon or they will be to late to the party against some solid competitors.
1. Razr
2. Vigor
3. Nexus Prime
4. insert all the others I did not name.

I like the RAZR but I saw an article. Might be able to find it, will edit if I do or not. From what the video in the article say it's just the Bionic repackaged (with maybe a better screen? Don't remember) and you can't take the battery out that saddens me. Battery pops are sometimes the only way to do some things on these phones. The Nexus is the one I want but I saw another article saying that it comes in 16 and 32gb internal and it's not known if you can have an SD card (My main reason for disliking the iPhone). Also, it's not known if the battery will come out of that phone either. I don't know much about the Vigor so I will still my fingers for now.
Yeah I couldn't find them... Sorry History is full of a bunch of articles I've been reading tonight
Looks like the Revo 2 did go to a 3 button system which looks like will be the standard for Ice Cream Sandwich.. if the links are correct that is. Still I am in love with the Droid Razr.. sorry LG I was a Moto guy before and pretty sure I will be again some day!!
Anything with "Razr" attached to it usually sends up red flags for me. Have you ever seen anyone who owned the original Razr that still had a decent looking phone 6 months down the road? Yeah, me neither. The last thing I need is a $600 phone that falls apart if it hits a pillow from a drop of 12 inches.
My requirements on my next phone will probably be: NVidia architecture, 4G, and a 4+" screen. A year+ is a long time in the mobile industry, so let's see what they bring to the table.

If I wasn't addicted to Android I would buy that from you...
I'm looking for an image of the original box and or main screen of a device that has not been updated. Can anyone help?
AFAIK there's no way to know a 5.4 (or whichever other version) device from the box it comes in. Two of my Fires came in an orange "bag" while the third (a warehouse deal) was packaged in a non-standard box. FireOS 5.1.1 and twice 5.3.1.
Not even the serial number is a reliable source of versions as a device may have been refurbished.
The only way to learn about the FireOS version is from the "About" screen (or by exploring the filesystem, which may require elevated rights). Is that what you were looking for?
Yes thanks that helps I have supplied 7 of these for my family members with kids and have Nexus rommed them all. I just bought one off of eBay that the guy said was never opened so I took the chance. It came sealed with 5.1.3 and i was thrilled. It seems there are a couple left there that have never been opened and a good chance they are rootable. The last one I paid about 38$ for and it was a 16 gig. I have another one coming for 48$ with free shipping and i will post what version it comes with if anyone is interested. These tablets with nexus are great. Thanks to the community that made all this possible.

I recently learned the 8.9 Fires can be rooted. I managed to find a couple used ones in fair condition for $35.00 a piece a few days ago. They haven't yet been rooted or put on WiFi. I'm pretty excited. I had successfully rooted one already, and flashed TWRP, but a problem flashing the ROM, left me stuck in TWRP for infinity. Having done a wipe before installing the ROM, and the ROM install failure, I was left with no OS and no Fastboot to save me. It was my friend's who had it being used as an alarm clock. Never turned the WiFi on. I was mad when it failed. I had a perfect track record until then lol.
I noticed something though. I wonder why the 8.9s, an HD tablet, would have KitKat instead of Lollipop...off topic I know. It's more of a comment than a question
I just got another 16 gb off of ebay it is a blue one. It was unopened and still sealed. The seller had 9 left and I paid around 48$ for it. It came with 5.1.3 on it. Jackpot.....
