Hi,
I've just got my Tytn II and bought seperately a T-Mobile UK SIM to use it with. When I switch the unit on I get a warning message saying "Smartchip not provisioned MM#2". I can't then connect to the network- I just the "no service" message.
The phone detects all the available networks fine, and I swapped in an O2 SIM from my old universal, and it worked immediately- so the Kaiser is working fine.
I tried Googling the error without success, so you guys are pretty much my last resort... I see from this forum that some people seem to have it working on T-Mobile UK.
I hope it's something really stupid that I'm not doing! Does anyone have any ideas on this?
I've been reading these forums for a few years now, but this is my first actual post. I know if anyone can help, you guys can
Tim
I have my TyTN II working on T-Mobile fine. I just put the SIM card in and it worked.
Maybe you have an old SIM which is not fully compatible. How old is the SIM.
It's a brand new SIM, only arrived on Friday.
I'm waiting for another unlocked phone to try the SIM on to see if it is defective. THanks for the reassurance that yours is working- it gives me some hope!
So may be T-Mobile's reasons for delaying the Vario III were actually true!!!
Mine's working fine
Old SIM as well, around 18 months old!
I can also say that my T-Mobile sim is working fine and this is about 14months old, just put it in and installed my T-Mob 3g/mms setting myself and all is well.
Can browse the web receive push email and send mms no problem at all.
must be the new sim, try activating the sim on another phone first if it has not been activated yet, and then once activated and working, put it back in the kaiser. does seem very strange though.
Same here, auto-configure settings working perfectly!
Although it seems to have setup a separate connection for Picture messaging... has yours done that?! Can i just delete that and tell it to use the normal 3G connection? :S
Try T-Mob support
Either take it back to the shop or contact them via the website, I've found them quite responsive on the few occasions I've used them.

Real good phone, ... but nothings perfect
bij Anonymous - maandag 10 september 2007
Its the best ppc i've had, but not flawless like everyone loves to say. 1. The slider is implemented backwards. No, this is not just something trivial because the rotate screen button and the camera both rotate the screen wrong. Also its not convenient for right-handed people. 2. The stylus should drop in at the top, not the bottom. 3. There is no hardware control for the volume. 4. You have to buy an adapter to use regular headphones. 5. Google maps keeps losing the gps signal (although tomtom works fine). Also t-mobile can't take advantage of this phones 3g capabilities which is unfortunate. Every other review is going to say this phone is the greatest invention since god, but I just wanted to point out its not perfect. That said, I am still happy with my purchase and would recommend it.
PLease note the text in Red, what might that mean ??
Maybe it was referring to US T-Mobile, since it is supposed to use 1700 when the 3G is going live?
I haven't seen a lack of 3g mentioned for T-Mobile UK, but may be the Netherlands are different. My problem is more that I can't even get it to connetct to the network... I'm going to try the SIM in a different phone tonight and see if it's broken.
Churchill,
That is not true!
I use T-Mobile NL and subscribed to "Pocket Internet Totaal Plus" :
- Max 192 Kbit/sec download
- Max 32 Kbit/sec upload (if I am not mistaken)
- 19.95 euro / month
- Unlimited usage
My SIM card is very old, I have been using it since few years ago.
The T-Mobile NL 3G is working just fine.
I got the "3G" icon all the time and managed to test the connection with dslreports.com and got 144 Kbit/sec.
Yesterday I tested the internet connection sharing, so I connected the Kaiser to the internet and plugged it to the laptop.
It worked fine! The speed was constant 30 KBytes/sec (tested by downloading big file).
So, I confirmed you that T-Mobile NL is working fine.
PS: One thing that still puzzled me, why dont I get HSDPA (3.5G) connection??? The "H" icon. I tought that T-Mobile has HSDPA already.
Maybe if I subscribed to "Internet Totaal Plus" (1.8 Mbit/sec, 69.95 euro / month) I will get HSDPA ... but, it is toooooo expensive!

Gogol, thatnx for the reasurance.. I am right now on the Pocket internet Totaal woth 64kbps and once I prolong I want to take the Plus version for 19,95 since the first year is half the price.
I beleive that H icon shows only if you go to HSDPA speeds. I was able to reach those speeds of up to 1Mbps on my current subscription (pocket internet Totaal) because there was a whole in the ssytem by T-Mobile. If you get the Pocket Internet Totaal in T-Mobile shop (mind you onlyu t-mobile shop) you were able to just surf in HSDPA. That lasted about 10 months for me after which they capped the connection to 64 Kbps so I am a real unhappy man right now, so Once the Keiser is availbale by my reseller I am going to take the Plus version for 19,50 a month.....
Gogol,
Are you Dutch??
Original Issue fixed
Just a note to report that my original problem seems to be fixed. I just put the SIM card in another phone and it worked. Then transferred it back to my Kaiser and the error had gone.
I have no UMTS, but I'm pretty sure I just haven't found the right setting. Does anyone know if T-mobile UK has HSDPA yet?
Churcill, No I am not Dutch. But I live and work here in the Netherlands for couple of years already. Love the country

T-Mobile UK allows HSDPA although dependent on what handset you signed up for with them you may not have it enabled on your account. For example if you bought say a Vario II from them then this is now enabled by default on the account. You may need to speak to 150 to get it enabled.

I am using Vario II on T-Mobile UK, it DOES have HSDPA, I got the H icon. You need to ask them to activate the HSDPA service for you if they haven't done so.
Ah, I see .. no I am not Russian Gogol was picked out of nowhere
The Pocket Internet Totaal Plus (PITP) is quite nice, although the network latency is still pretty much high. Sometimes lagging for several seconds
T-Mobile NL is still the cheapest 3G provider, right? I havent checked around yet (will do after this).

Just got my new Tmobile Vario III - re badged Kaiser. But how do I enable Hsdpa (I think that's what its called). Am in London where I have heard it works but no sign and nothing in manual either - do get GPRS and 3G. Any tips?
HSDPA works straight out of the box (AFAIK). When you connect to the next it says "Connecting to GPRS, 3G..." and if your in an area with HSDPA a little "H" will apear at the top. If not a "3G" will appear in the same place.
I'm on T-Mob in UK and have had HSDPA with a connection of just under 1Mbps, though recently I haven't had it for some reason.

Download KaiserTweak - see the thread at the top of this forum - there's a function on that utility to ensure HSDPA is turned on.
If the little H isn't appearing after that when you are downloading in 3G areas then you might need to check with T-mobile to ensure that you have access to HSDPA.
Not sure if I'm allowed to do this but there's a thread on another forum about this:
http://www.modaco.com/content/HTC-Kaiser-Kaiser-MoDaCo-com/260833/HSDPA-frustration-on-Vario-III/
Reportedly, HSDPA is now only offered on Web&Walk Plus - that does correspond with my recent experience since I didn't have it enabled until I upgraded to W&W Plus after which it automatically appeared without me asking...
If this is the case, I'm sure there are going to be complaints, but it really is consistent with the long-standing Web&Walk terms and conditions. The basic service was only ever intended to support light-weight web browsing and you were always supposed to pay the Plus premium before using your line to provide a mobile link for your laptop. Like many others, I broke the rules occasionally but now that I am making more serious use of my Vario III as the mobile data link for my laptop, I have gone legal and coughed up the extra few quid per month - it's still the best deal in town!
Martin
Same here I just upgraded from Web n Walk to the Web n Walk Plus package costs me an extra fiver a month but for how I use the phone it's well worth it.
im on standard w&w 7.50 per month phone, 150, and ask them to enable hsdpa, that all i did!
if they say no, phone and try again until you get someone, either clueless, or dont careless?
Apparently, since 19th November anyone one Web n Walk standard or the pay as you use service will not get HSDPA.
You need to be on Web n walk plus or Max.
Even if you call back a few times, they will put you through their tech support who have now all been instructed to deny you HSDPA.
Bad News, I'm going to complain about it.
Im on normal Web n walk - all i had to do was call T-mobile and request that they activate HSDPA on my account.
Boom.
Job done!
Is it really enabled?
OK.
I am currently on the phone to them for a second time. Both times have been told quite adamantly that HSDPA is enabled on my price plan which is the standard Web N' Walk.
I went into a bit of a rant telling them that there was no way that it was enabled and they have gone off to check with techies again. I'm guessing they are being told to say that as a standard fob off.
Will see where this attempt ends up.
Finally went through 3-4 customer service staff, a couple of first line techies all of whom told me HSDPA was enabled.
After finally insisting that they were still talking out their arses I got through to a proper techie who told me what everybody else has been saying about needing the upgrade to Web N' Walk Plus.
I then got in that lovely situation where I bought the upgrade from a shop (on their recommendation due to stock levels) and now have to go back to the shop and try and sort something out with the shop manager who will have to phone them to see what they can sort out. I am hoping that they are going to give me the upgrade for free, but we will wait and see. Will be extremely pissed-off if they make me go back to the store and don't give me anything.
The long and the short of it is that I doubt anybody is going to get it enabled anymore without upgrading. If I had bought it online or through the phone I think they would have given me the upgrade for free straight away. There was no way they were enabling it on the standard Web N' Walk for me.
I keep my fingers crossed for everybody who does have it and hope that they don't bring them all into line. I think if enough people complain as I have just done I think they'll probably enable it just to stop the barrage of phone calls.
Do your homework!
T-Mobile does NOT have a high speed data service. Your phone may show an H, but GPRS is all their network has. That's why they don't do business accounts.
Note the nationalities of the other posters -- T-Mobile in Europe does indeed have 3G. It's just T-Mobile USA that's behind for the moment; they're building up their US 3G network on 1700 MHz.

Maybe that's true in your neck of the woods, but in UK, they definitely have
HSDPA (with pretty good coverage) and also business accounts
As I said before, the lack of HSDPA on basic Web&Walk is only a significant issue if you are breaking the terms and conditions... Basic rate W&W was only ever intended to support informational web browsing and email on your phone or PDA - you were always supposed to pay the Plus premium for heavier usage. I'm sure many of us broke the rules sometime, but you can't be too surprised if they take steps to plug the loopholes. £12/month for unlimited internet usage through your phone is still pretty good compared with the competition - they certainly have similar headline prices, but check the terms and conditions (particularly their definition of "fair use")

Lucky you, I've now tried to call 11 times and got the same message each.
"No way Jose, unless you upgrade to W+W Plus."
If your account was created before the 17th October then it seems that they can simply switch it on on your account. After that date the option isn't there for them to enable. Which is what happened to me
Just to highlight a good point made elsewhere, unless you're downloading large files all the time it's perfectly possible to live without HSDPA. I'm on PAYG and only really browse/email; the most I'll pay is £30/month. To pay £42.50 for the extra privilege of HSDPA (if you have coverage) on WnW+ simply isn't worth it!

I totally agree with the sentiment here, if you only use your phone for email & browsing, the WNW is probably good enough. I pay for WNWplus because I connect my laptop to the phone & benefit from HSDPA where available.
However the price difference between equivalent WNW & WNWplus packages is only £5 per month, so I'm happy to pay it. I can't justfy to myself the extra for WNWmax - I don't need IM & skype etc.
Could someone just clarify - If I see an "H" in the data connection, does that mean HSDPA is enabled? (on UK T-Mob). Thanks
Yes it does
This is a problem where you have an apparently good 3G signal BUT you cannot make or receive calls or texts and you can't establish a data connection. There is no obvious sign that you are in this state until you try to call, text or access data.
The "solution" from T-Mobile in the UK is to force the phone "band" setting from Auto to GSM, then it works. But of course its not a solution as you lose 3G.
If you are at work with a 3 icon on your phone, just try calling it from your desk and see if you get straight to voicemail or not.
After discussions with T-Mobile they are sending me a replacement handset but if the postings in Modaco are anything to go by then I am not alone in this.
What is not clear is whether this is restricted to:
1. The T-Mobile UK network
2. The T-Mobile UK Vario III firmware
3. A combination of the above
4. A general design fault with some Kaiser's
This is being discussed in the Modaco forums but I couldn't find any mention here.
I make dozens of calls, and send around 50+ SMS a day.
No problems in the last month.
I am an Australian Kaiser owner running on the Three network.

Hi there,
I have the same issue on T-Mobile in Germany.
What I have not been able to figure out is if the phone works again after a while or if one needs to reset (as I always do).
Regards,
Martin
I have tried soft resets and even a hard reset and it appears to be random whether it starts working again. This seems to be same experience as the Modaco users.

Well, I worked for T-Mobile UK recently and had the very same issue on my Vario II, even whilst at work where there was a large mast and the 3G coverage was the strongest in the country.
on further investigation, everyone else in the area had the same issue. sometimes it would work ok, a lot of the time i had to manually set to 2G just to be able to use the phone functions.
in T-Mob we could check the strength of various 2 & 3G signals by postcode, and the signal in the area was very strong, with no outstanding work issues or problems (according to our system)
was never able to figure out why this was happening, and nobody was able to answer the questions.
so -
seems to be T-Mob UK (perhaps just in various areas at various times), and is not limited to your Kaiser / Vario, so at least you can relax cos it's not a faulty phone
Thanks for the very useful post. Unfortunately that doesn't give us a solution. If this cannot be fixed then T-Mobile is useless for me.

i've been experiencing the same - no data access when using 3g (whilst showing 2 bars) but connecting fine using gsm.
can anyone point me in the direction of a replacement comm manager with the same icons as the default kaiser but with a 3g switch in the vacant slot ?
i've been looking at a few replacement comm managers but can't seem to find what i'm looking for ...
This is NOT a problem with your Kaiser, replacing your phone will not make a difference. It is problem with your provider's tower hard/software. Strange that T-Mobile has not told you this when you contacted them about it.
T-Mobile in the Netherlands does not have this problem, but the KPN network does. KPN is however in the process of replacing the faulty hardware (or maybe they are already done now, even) and suddenly the problem disappears
Found the solution!!
Hello,
I had the same problem untill one day I inserted my sim card in another phone (a very old nokia - as basic as it gets).
For some reason that I don't know, when I put the sim card back in the TyTN II it was working and keeps on working.
This has happened over a month ago, and I now don't hv a problem.
Try to do the same, see if it works for You

Nope, I already tried the SIM in another phone (an SE W880i) and it was okay. I put it back in the Vario III and it still didn't work.
I also tried soft and hard resets.

worth a try though ...
I had this with a Hermes on Orange UK a year ago. They admitted that the local cell was faulty and was being fixed and asked me to go to GSM for a week. After a week I switched back and it was fine.
Am now using a Kaiser (O Tytn2) in same location and its fine.
well i know ive been having problems sending mms whenever im on the 3g network, but as soon as i switch to gsm then the mms sends fine!

This is correct, the problem is indeed not your Tytn II. I've called with a dutch provider (Telfort) which makes use of the KPN network. And it is technically not possible. So we must wait till the provider makes sure this is possible.
I also was surprised that they never told me this in advance. Actually they didn't knew it was an problem till I called them.
Er, exactly what "is not possible"?
3G to 2G switching works fine on my other phone (an HSDPA-enabled Nokia 6120 Classic, on the same network).
So how can this not be handset related? I can see how it could be a combination of the phone and the network but if other handsets can cope then it must be related to the handset in some way.
Incidentally I am now using my replacement Vario III and so far so good but its early days yet.

which ROM versions are experiencing this problem?
I get this in the UK on a Tuesday at around 16:00 and then all is ok after 17:00. If I turn off HSDPA then this does not happen at all.
My view is the T-Mobile network. Being as I know when it happens its not a problem but I think they have time slots for software upgrades etc to the HSDPA side of things and this is when your phone goes into a GSM lockout.
If I keep the phone on 2g then it never happens .
This also happened on my N95 on the same day at the same time also , so i would guess its a network thing
I had this occur again this morning, on the new handset. I tried to call home with a full set of bars and the phone in 3G - the call wouldn't go through.
Switched to 2G, call goes through.
The problem is that when you are in this mode there is no way to tell, without trying to make a call. Your phone is effectively useless as no-one can call or text you and you can't call out. You are blissfully unaware.
This is not an acceptable situation.

I have suddenly started to experience this problem on T-Mobile UK, starting last night. It finds a 3G network, but I cannot receive or send calls or SMS. If the network drops to 2G, I can generally receive texts, but it's only if I lower my band to GSM only that I can make or receive calls, or use data.
T-Mobile are generally crappy in my area anyway, my phone is forever flipping between 2 and 3G. Can anyone confirm what 3's coverage is like in south london (stockwell area if possible) and what sort of data/call packages you can get sim-only, as I fear that they may not work out as cheap as T-mobile's.
incidentally, I don't think it's an MDA vario problem as I'm running the TyTn II.
Please bare with me while I whine on for a bit....
I'm on t-mobile. I've got a Kaiser (not a t-movile Vario). Can someone tell me how I can tell I'm using the HSDPA t-mobile network? Is there an "H" icon that shows itself on the status line? All I get is the 3G icon (I'm based in London... well, within the M25 anyhow)
Now.... I've also been told that to get my Kaiser to use T-Mobile's mobile TV service I need to swap out the original browser.dll for one that tricks T-mobiles web site into thinking I'm using a Nokia N95...... (dont laugh, I have a suspician I'm having my leg pulled too).... and it's apparently on this website somewhere.... and yes, I've looked but cant find it.
So, if all this dosent work, anyone want a nearly new Kaiser, cheap? or wanna swap for a Sim free N95 8GB?
Hi there
I have a Kaiser (actually a HTC Tytn II) on TMobile and the 3G icon changes into a H when there is activity on the connection - it stays 3G until you upload or download.
TMobile have recently stopped HSDPA usage with the lowest price Web n Walk, you now only get it on the more expensive options. Does this include you?
As for the TMobiles TV service, sorry I can't help you there.
I've got the £7.50 web&walk. When you say upload/download does that include just pain old viewing of webpages?
See if 'Settings' 'Connections' 'HSDPA' is checked?
you dont need to do anything to a vario 3 to watch the tv mine works fine. so id assume a kaiser would also

I think the reason you`re not getting it is because you are on the lowest priced Web n walk, you have to be on Web n Walk Plus, or Web n Walk Max. This was only brought in by TMobile in the last month or so.
..and yes it includes any web viewing/email etc.
Have you called T-Mobile? You might be on the right tariff, but I've heard people say they've called T-Mobile and had it switched on, much like international roaming.
It might be worth giving them a quick ring?
thats what I thought too, but there's obviously something different. I have come across some registry tweeks that apparently work.... but not on my Kaiser.
I'm onto T-mobile right now, they say HSDPA isnt available on my price plan (as I originally had a Nokia N73 which dosent have HSDPA).
I'm on hold waiting to see if they can tweek it so I can use HSDPA on the Kaiser..... fingers crossed!
I have read that they will sometimes activate it even if you are not on the appropriate tariff, it depends if you get a helpful TMobile Customer Service person.
Good luck
As far as I'm aware, HSDPA is part of the web n walk packages, and should be included in anything other than the cheapest option.
In reference to your T-Mo TV problem:
I don't know if this will help you, but with the Tilt on AT&T, you have to change a registry value when you flash a rom other than an AT&T rom for AT&T to recognize the device as a Tilt. Maybe you need to switch your registry so that T-Mo's servers recognize it as a Vario III and not a Kaiser or TyTN II.
now i work for Orange retail but actually have a t-mobile contract! lol (much better data plan!) now im actually on the lowest web n walk package and when i recieved my vario III in early november i questioned a friend of mine that works for t-mobile...he said it doesnt matter what package your on you just need to phone up to get HSDPA activated! ive done this and can clarify it works fine...
Im on Tmobile and have HSDPA working fine on mine, as for T-Mo TV use a Slingbox instead more choice and better value.
My Kaiser has been working fine now for about a year. Recently traveled from one city to another. When I got off the plane noticed that I couldn't dial out nor surf the web. I also noticed that the touch screen was pretty unresponsive. While driving home from the airport and playing with my phone (about 30 minutes or so) shut off the 3G part of the phone and noticed that I could dial out. The phone was in Edge mode and it somewhat worked but the touchscreen was still kind of unresponsive. Called and opened a service request with AT&T. After a couple of calls and some "detail" checking I was told that my SIM was trashed. They said that maybe it was trashed going thru the airport X-Ray machine. (odd to me). Wondering if somehow there was an attempt to hijack my SIM remotely (BT?) or am I being paranoid? I recieved a new SIM today and I had it turned on. All appears well at this time.
I had the same issue with my old Sonyericsson. Traveling from Indianapolis to Denver, when I arrived the messaging and internet was really buggy. They told me that my sim card wasn't compatible with their network. That seemed really odd to me too. However, they gave me a new one and once it was registered on the network everything was cool.
Long story short - I don't think anybody was trying to hack your phone via bluetooth or anything like that. There are just minor quirks in the network when traveling long distances... probably from the network being made up of smaller ones that were simply acquired through buy-outs.

Traveling long distances will not "trash" your SIM, I go to HKG every year...no problems...that is a farther distance than Indianapolis to Denver...

Nobody said anything about the distance itself causing issues. What I said was that not all areas of att's networks are up to par, so older sim's may not work everywhere.
I don't work for att or anything but this has been my experience.
Thanks all for your responses. My 3G is still working in the Midwest. BTW my SIM card was working fine for almost a year (when I purchased Tilt). I also have traveled to the same place in FL a "few" times this past year with no SIM issues. One thing though is that 3G is not available yet where I travel to FL. (everytime I go there I can only get the Edge network).
It's funny... I've been on 3 round-trip flights since buying my Tilt. After each flight, the phone started acting buggy. Laggy, screen not refreshing when it should, programs refusing to run, etc.
A hard reset and restoring from my latest backup resolved all the issues each time. So, it seems that (at least in my case) the SD card is fine, but memory may be getting trashed in the phone. Of course, I'm blaming it on the x-ray process.
Next time I fly, I plan to turn the phone off completely before going thru screening to see if that makes a difference. Anyone else notice odd things happening after a plane trip?
I had a similar problem in the UK, although didn't actually involve travelling!
When I got my new Kaiser through O2 UK, I had upgraded from my old Wizard. I swapped SIM's and everything was fine. 3G was in operation in my part of the world at the time and it worked spot-on.
Then, after 2 weeks, 3G suddenly stopped working. GPRS was OK (no EDGE here!) but just couldn't get 3G signal. On startup, the 3G icon would appear, the signal strength would then drop to nothing, and would then change to a 'G'.
O2 said that my SIM was not 3G compatible - strange how it was working before though! They sent me a new SIM and everything's been fine since.
What I believe happened in my case is that they had upgraded the network in my area to HSDPA but hadn't activated it at that time. I believe the changeover is what made my older SIM suddenly incompatible.
HSDPA became active about 3 days after receiving my new SIM and my signal etc. has been fine ever since.
So, possibly when you guys have travelled, you've actually visited places where the network has been upgraded making your SIM incompatible there?
Also, have you tried manually searching for networks? If you're in a foreign country, your phone may be continually scanning for networks which will undoubtedly slow it down and make the screen unresponsive?
hey there ive searched topaz thread and ive not really found an answer that has helped but i cant seem to connect to any apps which required to go online when on data connection (besides opera itsself) example the facebook app wen it goes to connect it just ends up erroring out and not connecting i was wondering if anyone else had this problem and managed to find a solution to it ive had the phone the first week its been out and its drivin me crazy having to either wait till i was in an area with wifi or not being able to recieve my emails on the go which i could do all on my TD1!
Working fine here on T-Mobile. Hope you manage to get it sorted as that must be very annoying.
If you can't get it working a glimmer of hope is that I read that they are looking to sell T-Mobile UK arm so maybe you can get out of the contract if they then change the t&c?
Have you turned off the proxy on your connection settings?
T-Mobile ave left a nasty impression on me.
There's a broken network cell in my area where only GPRS works, so you have to force the phone to connect through that and not 3G (3G connects, but no data will transfer), they refused to believe me, despite testing with a collegues handset and sim proved the same, and walking to the other end of town allowed 3G to work, and back came back again and it didn't, been like that for months. Tech support wanted to blame my settings / handset / anything but their hardware, despite me proving several collegues had the same problem.
I'm just in the process of moving my number to Three (Three and T-mobile are the only choice if you want a large data pack)
cheers mate it took me forever to relise that, yh i hate t-mobile sooo much but ive been with them since they where mercury one-2-one and have a relitivly good deal flext 35 wnw n 1 mobile tv channel for £22.24 pm with them so im sort of stuck there. t-mobile customer serivice is poor network coverage in some areas is shocking in your case have you requested a new sim which might help. ps beware of 3 they are pretty much another t-mobile in disguise but with worst contracts lol
Got a good deal on 3:-
£30 per month for:-
300 mins
2000 texts
2000 on network mins
free skype
3GB of data
Push email
0800 calls are free, and 0845 / 0870 is £0.15 per min. (T-mob sent me a text to say "in order to allign our charges these calls are now 40 pence per min"!!!!)
It's a 30 Day Contract, so I can leave if anything goes wrong.
I'll give 3 a go and see if they work for me, Only support I tend to need is if the service has a fault (which is where T failed me.).
Did removing the proxy help?
It sounds like I've got the same problem as you. I had a t-mobile Ameo before the diamond2 and it as very hit and miss, so much so that I gave up.
When my diamond2 arrived, I tried it with the Orange sim it came with, everything works as it should.
Popped my t-mobile web and walk sim into the phone, it won't get emails, occasionally goes online with opera but not always, won't download weather data.
I'm putting the t-mobile sim in the bin and using the Orange one as soon as it's ported my number.
I've tried for 18 months to get an answer but no luck so far.
I got my td2 and put the tmob sim im. At first I was getting the same problems you mentioned. I reset the network connections a couple of times and disabled the proxy. Then everything worked fine and has since. Very happy with it tbh now, awesome phone.
ten
trinode cheers mate clearing the proxy did help thanks mate finaly i can use the fone and the services to its potiential now lol that doesnt sound like a bad deal your getting the appealing factor to your deal is the 30 day rolling contract
i'm still having problems with youtube. tried everything and it's still not connecting :S
The Youtube app should start working if you just leave it to its own devices for a while.
The only problem I'm having is with Fring, it won't connect over Tmobile but is fine over Wifi. I guess it's because I'm on the cheapest WnW tarriff which I believe bans VOIP, so they've probably blocked Fring's servers.
Never mind!
