Alpine Motherboard pictures - PDA2, XDA IIi, 2020i General

Added some pretty good detailed images of the alpine motherboard.
Is the white thing the antennas?
If anyone can explain what the different parts are on the alpine_mb_small.jpg, it would help me alot.
If anyone like to know, I'm building a new casing for my "spare alpine".
Thanks!

Why don’t you track the path form the external antenna plug in your first picture then maybe you will find the antenna.
thanks & Best Regards

yup the white thing is the antenna

no gsm signal no gps signal

i recently lost my battery cover and while waiting for the replacement to arrive i noticed one day that i had no calls all day long which was strange so looking closer i noticed the ! near the antenna icon and also no gps signal at all either.upon closer inspection of every thing i notice that the antenna on the back of the phone was torn.see pic red circle shows where the tear was.so i clean it up and whip out the soldering iron and solder it back together, but it still wont work.is the antenna that sensitive that it wont work even after being soldered back together.do you think replacing the antenna with a new will fix the problem?

when you soldered, you could've damaged it further, even a little overheating can ruin it.
Also, the picture doesn't show any tearing, the places you circled is a point to release the casing in that area.

this is far fetched, but my profession and hobbies bases my know how on situations like this.
when a antenna is placed in a device like this the technicians adjust it to be resonant to specific freq. adding or removing length (like you did when you soldered) adds length to it (the antenna usually in a cell phone is brass or copper) im sure the solder you used is 60/40. so by adding more metal and changing the metals, the antenna is now resonant on diffrent freq's.
instead of giving a lecture on antenna resonation to exlplain here is a link
And like the other member said you might have overheated the board.
So hope this helped. And sorry if it didnt
the pic is not of my phone, just a pic for reference to the area.i used silver bearing solder 62/36/2.the antenna was removed from the phone before it was soldered.i guess ill wait for a replacement to arrive.right now the phone is junk with out a signal.

Well since you have a new phone in the mail nevermind, unless you want to share pics and go into specific detail of EVERYTHING you did. And maybee we can help.
Have you taken that plastic housing with the antenna off?
Or has ait had a knock?
I ask because there are small plastic lugs around that housing to keep it firmly in place. If any one of those is not fully engaged the connection with the aerials is lost and you get no signal. Of course a crack that allows enough bending will also cause the contacts to be lost.
To elaborate Look at the second picture here with the black aerial housing removed:
https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retrieve.cgi?attachment_id=812152&native_or_pdf=pdf
You will see the gold coloured contacts for the aerial. Any maladjustment or lugs not engaged or a crack can cause these to loose contact with the board. If the plastic is cracked in a minor way, I'm sure you can work out a way to re-establish the contacts.
Mike
Does anyone know where to buy replacement Aerials? Mine kinda detatched itself from the plastic! :S
Please PM or message me if you do know where I can buy one or if anyone has a dead phone that they wouldn't mind selling for spares.

PCBA subboard for scroller and buzzer

Hello,
Does anyone know where i can get the PCBA board that the scroller is attached to? this subboard attaches to the mainboard. I opened this POS phone and found that the little chip that attaches the subboard to the main board came off hence why i could no longer scroll or any audio from the speaker. I don't want to sauter this little chip because i can hardly see the contact because it is so small. Please if someone knows where i can get the part from, let me know.
Or if someone has a POS kaiser laying around because it is broken, and want to sell this part, let me know
Thanks,
Mo

POS ? hmmm if its no good for you, then why do you want to fix it ?
I was just venting because i have no audio. It's a good phone aside from missing gfx driver, hopefully comin soon.
The part number is 51H00396-00M but not sure where to get it from.
EDIT: I may of found the part that i am looking for from http://cnn.cn/shop/ they'll let me know by next week. I hope they have it.

Kaiser Diagram

I was wondering if anyone had a diagram of the kaiser like completely apart.
The wires for the LED part of the screen are either loose or corroded, don't know which. So I'm taking it apart. Also if anyone knew of what color wires I might be looking for, it would be appreciated
Anybody? ._.

[Q] Need help in assembling my Nexus 1 (one part is left :-)

Hi there,
i hope someone here has alreday disassembled/assembled his/her N1 successfully and can help me.
I had some serious scratches in my N1's body so I decided to buy a new one and to exchange it by myself. Everything worked well so far, my N1 is looking brand-new, everything works, no issues (was a tough job with a lot of critical situations ). I discovered that I missed to put one piece back into position while assembling the device (silly me ) - it seems to work (no chatter, flaps etc.). Nevertheless, I have a bad feeling cause HTC must have had a plan for this piece. Does someone now where it was located?
Missing piece:
Size: 9mm x 4mm
Material: Rubber
HiRes pictures: http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/14711985/1/Nexus?h=ead117
thanks in advance,
das_spektakel
This may help... http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus-One-Teardown/1654/1
Well, thanks for the link. This was the manual I chose to disassemble it. Good idea to take a look at it again and guess what? This could be the missing link:

What do you think, there is a blackish block right next to the usb port... seems to be the microphone-something-tunnel.
what do you think?
EDIT: Thanks for pushing me into the right direction. The part fits there. thanks for solving the puzzle!
best,
das_spektakel
i dont know its hard to tell from your pics cause they are a bit blurry. but can you take the phone apart and see if there is a missing palce next to the USB connection?

You read between the lines? Do not see that he has solved the problem?
well oh i passed right over that edit. touche.
It's a small rubber piece that covers the bottom microphone, just so you know. I forgot to put mine back into my first N1 when re-assembling but didn't notice any effects on sound quality.

[Q] Help.. lost copper contact from battey

Hello..
I have used Xda for about 2 years now, being the proud owner of an HD2 i have had android and wm7 on it.
Upon taking out the spare battery one of the copper contacts on the phone fell off obviously now the phone wont switch on.
Would anyone know if i need to replace the main board or is there a part i could get that just includes these copper pins?
no need to replace the motherboard. when i had disassembled my diamond i accidently broke the copper contact for the wifi antennae which is on top right corner.
i had a spare copper contact from another mobile phone's speaker as thats where you will easily get hold of one. i jus removed the copper contact and fixed it accordingly on the antennae contacts. it works with 100%
so i wud suggest you the same. find something of same size. maybe from an old mobile phone or mobile phone's speaker or contact.
even if you cant' solder it, try to fix it properly. but since its battery contacts, u better find a way to soldier it slightly.
also keep this contact jus able to touch the battery when inserted, so that less bending on the contact is required and so ur soldering wud remain intact.
good luck
Can you please use descriptive topic titles, "Help" is not descriptive of the topic. Plus its in the rules.
Apologies but help just summed it up for me, i'll try change it if i can.
ayyu3m thanks for this i had a slight bit of luck in finding the copper bit.... it looks slightly hooked so i may even get away with not soldering it
I was worried the motherboard would have to be replaced...

It may have summed it up for you but not for people browsing the forum.
Fair point, would you happen to know how to change it?

btw, I wasn't trying to be a **** or anything really, Its just that many people will just skip by topics that are not described properly and you will likely have better chance of getting answers if topics have clearer titles.
No problem I appreciate the input.. thanks
