Buy TYTN II on USA - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Where can i buy a Tytn II unlocked on USA??
Thanks

MobilePlanet, Elite-Electronix, www.dweiniger.com come immediately to mind. Chances are they'll be UK versions -- the reseller will throw in a UK-to-US plug adapter so you can use the UK charger. The UK version works just fine here -- I've had one almost 2 weeks now and haven't seen any major issues.

i just got a tytn ii and i cant seem to make the internet work with t-mobile no matter what i try. the phone operates fine and works via wifi and active sync but i cant make it work with gprs. My other htc s620 works fine. any ideas?

Sorry -- I'm on AT&T and the automatic setup program set everything up for data (not that it matters since I don't have a data plan).
You realize that you won't get 3G since T-Mobile doesn't have it yet, and when they do it'll be 1700MHz which the Tytn II doesn't support. If you can grab the data connection settings from your s620 & copy them over to the Tytn II it should work.

Cudo, (sorry maybe a noob question) I have the AT&T tilt with the unlimited data plan and 3G icon is on all the time not the small 3g over the signal meter. In USA it is great, however I travel to Europe 2 weeks per month and carry two phones. I read all the links and still have a question - on the kaiser which dual sim device you are using and is it fully compatible with the 3G data in USA. Thanks
http://www.mobileguru.co.uk/Dual SIM.html that is the one im using but as im uk i cannot be sure about its compatibility in usa. it works perfect for me in uk. it support both 2G and 3G/3.5G. i would assume you will have no problems either in europe or usa while using this dual card holder and be sure to trim your sims correctly as i have had some problems doing it and ended up with around 5 attempts before i got it right

For me, this today plug-in does not work on Kaiser (T-Mobile Vario III).
Worked great on HTC P3600 (Trinity). The only way I change my network is through Com Manager (Flight mode on/off).
I have also trimmed both of my original cards and I use a non-digital dual sim adaptor. The digital adaptors drain the battery.
Which phone and rom do you have? How come it works in your case? Is it a rom issue?
Thanks
any updates on this?
Is there a working dual sim method and a today cab for the kaiser?
thnx
Yea, no way to make my dual sim work on my kaiser...
It worked on my TyTN, my Artemis, but not on my kaiser, and with every rom I tried (Original HTC, Dutty, Thuffir...) waaaaaaaaaa !

it was however unclear whether it can support both GSM 3G SIM cards, I have read several posting over the past 2 hours and some postings claimed that:
... it only works in both 2G SIM cards
... it supports 3G n' 2G, but u need to disable the feature)
there is no concrete answer yet, anyone care to post test results?
Thx n' Rgrs,
Hi -- this is all pretty new to me, so be gentle... Let's say that I install a dual/twin sim holder and then plug-in 2 sim cards, each with their own phone number (let's call them PN1 and PN2). If I have PN1 active, will I hear, and be able to answer, a call on PN2, and vice versa?
I had the same question. I bet on most phones, only one sim is active at a time. But I googled and found this:

That would be ideal. I'm sure someone here has, or is quite able to, come up with a solution for our existing phones. For the record, I'd like it to work with the ATT Tilt...

Dual Sim

Anyone is using a dual sim with the Diamond? I have seem a couple of dual sim cards that it´s supose to work in Diamond but I am not really sure... anybody knows a model which works right on Htc Diamond?
Hi. I've been using a dual sim on my previous WM phones with no problem. Will try it on Diamond in a few days when I get back home, and will let you know. If you don't hear anything by Wednesday - Thursday, pls PM to remind me.
I have also used a very nice prog for changing swaping between the 2 cards on the Today screen, but I guess that if you use the HTC today, will not be able to use that one, and you would have to go through Start\Programs.
Hi, I'm using SIMore Black 1 in my Diamond. It's working well, but do not expect use 3G or HSDPA.
SIMore is compatible with 3G phone, but doesn't work if you use 3G, you only can access to GSM band...
I contact the support, and they let me know that I've been screwed... They do not garanty 3G use...
I have an analog dual sim adapter inside my o2 xda diamond and it works perfectly. My girlfriend has the same one in an htc diamond and it's working there too. Never had any problems with it. HSDPA/HSUPA working just fine. I believe it's a MagicSim 1st generation adapter.

Ok thanks I'm gonna look for this on google.
@Smaniac : it doesn't work on any SIM. In fact, if I let the settings in Phone\Band on auto, no way to get network on both sims. The only way to get it work is to set it on GSM, and then no 3G or HSDPA...
EDIT : I'm in France, using Orange and SFR Sims.
Thanks all
christis, ok I will wait for your answer
chineseseleper, can you check and tell us exactly the model? I have read in other forums people who say that MagicSim doesn´t work in Diamond. The MagicSim you can find at this moment I think is 20th

Are you using the new 6.0 version or an earlier version of the SIMore Black 1 ?
I have been looking at this one and if you go on you tube there is a video for it to.
Anybody using it or know of it?

this is interesting! dual-sim-cards!
so how does this work, I checked out the magicsim website, it's not really clear there..
so, is it possible to recieve calls from 2 different sim cards without switching around?
all new apdapter don't work. you need the oldest ones, the analog ones. they don't interfere with the sim card. i don't know where to check which model i have, but i believe its 1st gen.

Sorry for being late in replying. I messed up my main sim during cutting, and although it works on it's recovery adaptor, it doesn't work on the dual sim. it is 100% sim problem. Otherwise, the dual sim adaptor (2nd generation) worked perfectly in my previous WM phone (asus P526).
I will try to change my main card and check the diamond, with the software I mentioned before, on the today screen (the one that the card installs in Start\Programs, shouldn't have any problem.
Anyone got any new info so as if v6.0 of SIMore Black works with 3g/HSDPA???
I don't know if it can be of any help http://es.youtube.com/results?search_query=htc+diamond+simore&search_type=&aq=f
All I've seen so far is that dual sim works on 3G phones, but I've never seen the 3G band in action. Every demo is GPRS/EDGE only.
So the question still stands, does the dual sim adaptors give me access to the 3G band?

AT&T & Diamond what is the release Date ?

bah
I doubt att going to have this phone, seeing how they going all out for there isuck phones, and also im not counting on htc to release a 3g diamond or pro with the 850 1900mhz, after 4 months i got tired, and i bought a UK phone touch pro, it works pretty cool. the net is not 3g but edge is pretty ok for me, and gps works fine too, i use tomtom on the phone and its pretty cool, and wiki is also cool if you live in a city with hotspots and what not.

Diamond and AT&T 3G network.

Hi everyone:
I just bought a new HTC Diamond and brought it back to US.
In US I'm using AT&T and my previous phone was HTC TytnII which also brought from Taiwan.
When I was using TytnII, I can get 3G signal with no problem at all.
However yesterday when I get off the plane and put my ATT sim card into my new Diamond, I can only get EDGE signal.
I read some threads in the forum already and I found out that maybe is the radio's problem.
Now here is my question, I checked my config of the radio option in Diamond and I found out that I did have the option for UMTS(850+1900) which I know that AT&T use this freq. for 3G network. So how could I still have no 3G signal after all? Is this a hardware limitation? Or should I upgrade my radio rom(I think I'm using .05 radio right now since I haven't upgraded anything.)
Please help me out here because I really have no clues...Tks.
try installing or have it sign in on att network...check your network setting...or find htc network config cab that should do it.
make sure that its sign in on medianet or pda plan which ever you have. you can google att network sign in
Did you buy the U.S. 3G version? It's got a bigger battery(1350) and a rubberized battery cover.
I tried using Network Wizard to reset but still no good news.
Can you tell me what kind of data plan you are using right now?
Mine is 19.99/month but I know there is a PDA data plan.
I'm wondering maybe it's the data plan that restricts me from 3G network.
However I'm still able to access MediaNet network via EDGE though.

No it doesn't. I had a US Diamond purchased from Best Buy, and it looked identical to the European version.
To the OP:
Unless you bought the US version of the Diamond, it does not have the hardware necessary to connect to AT&T's 3G network.

He was confused. The CDMA version in the US (and Telus in Canada?) has the larger battery with the non-faceted back.

I don't want to sidetrack this thread, but I don't believe you bought the unlocked US 3g version. Mine is missing the front camera (different then the european version), and it has the 1340 battery and "rubberized" backing. Bought mine through bestbuy also.

Agree with rpassmore. I bought mine from Best Buy and it comes with the bigger battery and different battery cover (it's different both in that it's rubberized, and also bigger to accomodate the bigger battery).
Perhaps the confusion is such that the latest Euro models also include these upgrades?? In any case, the first run of the Euro model was a few millimeters thinner due to a smaller battery and battery cover, and the battery cover also had a shiny finish too.
The Diamond I bought from Best Buy ($699) had the faceted back similar to the Fuze. I didn't pay attention to the battery since the phone was too small for me overall.

KAISER: A Thing of the Past?

Hello everyone,
Been away for a short while, but I'm noticing that not much is happening new with the Kaisers. The cooks are gone to other things, and therefore tech support is far and in-between by what I've been reading over several posts in each of the Kaiser forum sections. I was just logging in to try and get help with making my volume louder (for the in-call volume AND the speaker), but my cook has gone, and seemingly not much is happening with regards to the ROM's needs.
So, is everyone going to I-Phones, or FUZE devices, etc.?
I'm curious because I'm really aggitated with AT&T right now. I just realized when I bought my wife her Samsung Epix, that JUST for buying the phone, I'm REQUIRED to have a $30/month data plan for her. She doesn't cruise the net on her phone. But she DOES text (I have the family unlimited messaging plan). She needs a device with a storage card so she can text, use the MS Office Apps, etc.. NOT cruise the net.
So, I'm thinking about changing carriers, but don't know anyone else other than T-Mobile that will accept my SIM card. And SOME say that trying the T-Mobile SIM card in my Kaiser will render the GPS, messaging, data, etc... applications useless.
So, just tryin' to get a feel of what to do next.
everything will work just fine. you should swithc to tmobile. tmobile is much cheaper than att. i used my kaiser on tmobile for nearly a year with no problems if you bring your own phone they wont make you have a data plan but if you buy one of their tmobile branded phones they will make you activate with a dada plans. anyway if you have any questions just pm me

Isn't the bands of the Tilt regards 3G different than AT&T? Thought the Tilt couldn't get 3G when using a T-Mobile sim?
Indeed the bands are different. You can't get 3G on T-Mobile with the Tilt. I use mine on Tmo everyday, with full GPS and everything. Tmo doesnt really have great 3G coverage anyways, so I don't really miss it all that much. But yeah, just use the combo SIM and CID unlocker, and slap that SIM into your Tilt and all is good to go.
Le Kaiser est morte, Vive Le Kaiser
Yeah...with the advent of more powerful phones in the HTC line (I recently went Rhodium/Tilt2), the Kaiser/Tilt is pretty much a dinosaur. I am still keeping the lovable brick for a backup. I've tried many roms...Thanks Dutty, Mr. NATF and TwoPumpChump for creating and releasing them, but unfortunately the Tilt's time for "Operation Upgrade" had come.
On the flip side though there are still folks cooking out there for Kaiser, ya just gotta know where to look and who to ask! Yeah, the unlocked Tilt will run with a T-mobile SIMM ( or any other network's SIMM), just not at the full potential that one would get on it's native network.
Good luck and good use!
