Anybody can try this game on the Kaiser? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

sorry guys, but it's not spam. It's just I'm writing a game for PDAs and I have read that some games run slow on this pda. Since I don't have a kaiser yet I would like to know if somebody can try it.
http://luisespinosa.com/temp/galaxies.zip
1. Just download the file and unzip it.
2. Copy the 2 files on your pda and run the file Galaxies.exe
While you are playing, at the bottom you will see the FPS. It should be around 60 all the time.
I would appreciate if somebody could spend a few minutes on this and let me know if the frame per seconds are around this number.
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
i've tested it for ya - most of time it was around 59, but sometimes it get down to 30 for a few seconds...
Anyway, game looks good

thanks a lot for trying it! do you remember when it got down to 30 fps?
did it happen in the 3rd level when you enter inside some kind of base?

Xperia random screen freezes like the Touch HD?

Hello everyone ,
Does someone experiences the same problems as seen in this thread for the Touch HD?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446440

To sum up, there's little 'freezes' lasting 4-5 seconds where the screen doesn't respond to any inputs.
It occurs randomly and without reason.
HTC released an hotfix regarding this problem, that can be found here:
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=179&cat=0&dl_id=448

However, this is for the Blackstone. When executed on the X1, there is a message box saying
"Please use the correct device to install this hotfix program"
The fix can be extracted and there's a _setup.xml that seems to tell what the .exe does;
I was wondering if it were possible to port it for the X1 as the Blackstone and the X1 are somewhat similar?
NB:
Hard resets didn't helped neither, freezes are also present.
I'm using this:
ROM Version: 1.02.933.3
ROM Date: 08/29/08
Radio Version: 1.06.25.29
Software Version: R1AA017
I also have these freezes occasionally.
I managed to install the files from the hotfix the other night, (because, well because I like to experiment) I spent 5 times as long removing them.
The display inverted, but not the calibration!
ill change the cab info install at your own risk.
however i do not have this issue. I have an issue of after long idels of not using my x1 at work the screen will apear to be cracked but the images are really cracked. a soft reset fixes this issue. (this is ment for a seperate thread) just giving you info on other display bugs on the x1
also can you upload the cab as the htc site will not allow me to download it.
My issue is actually with the camera... if you leave the Camera application on a long time, like 20-30 minutes idle, it will eventually crash, and it will say Camera.exe has stopped responding (or something like that, asking if you want to send a report to MIcrosoft)
just get freezes when i use the HTC album. other then that, nope.
Here's the .exe (renamed to .cab since xda seems to block .exe),
for those who can't manage to download it.
@Shadowmike
Thanks for your help
Sorry to go off topic a little :
Regarding your idle screen problems, I don't have any of it (maybe because I'm experimenting tweaks with it a lot so don't have time to idle really long )
May it be related to GWES:

To sum up, there's an interesting registry value named PORepaint that can take values from 0 to 3.
The key I would change may be:
HKLM\System\GWE\PORepaint
The factory default on my X1 is 0 but for your problem, I would set it's value to 2.
Personal Feedback:
When you press the ON button in order to wake the screen, the screen goes blanks for few milliseconds (blank flash), but it's repainting the entire area.
No major speed issues noticed between 0 and 2 values.
Hope this helps
I have the same problem with my X1, using the latest R2 rom (generic UK). It annoys the most when playing games like Bejeweled 2 and the screen suddenly freeze for a few seconds although the game and time keep running in the background and when it stop freezing I already lose time/points. It also happens with every other game I tried playing, even after hard reset. Any fix available yet?

Exactly what I get. It is most encountered in games where you touch the screen rapidly. Suddenly the whole OS freezes for 5-6 seconds then continues for some time until you get it again. It is very annoying.
Exactly. It happens ONLY with rapid screen presses. I observed this when typing.
Yes. This happens to my X1 also. It is possible to reliably replicate this bug.
The shadowmike's Cab didn't do anything usefull. So the HTC's Hotfix for the HD doesn't apply
Anyway, I made a Video describing this bug:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cOhX8yY5Yk
Hm.. Yesterday right after I did that video, I flashed my X1 with the newest official ROM (version 1.03.931.8 (dated 12/21/08)) from this site. Then, I installed the shadowmike's cab. After the soft reset, the problem hasn't (yet) surfaced (plus the system seems more responsive). Fingers crossed .
Edit: Nope.. False alarm. It still happens. Though rarely..
yup...
it happens...
doesn't really concerns me though...this is windows mobile anyway

Youtube a$$hole$ seem to have removed your video for some reason, was a good one though, wonder if they get commission from SE. Maybe you can post it on a different video site...

Strange.. I can still access and see the video (no cookies works too). Does the video still appear deleted? Or was it just a glitch
Aye, same here... Mostly when playing insaniquarium. I just tried the .cab fix, didn't fix anything for me

it happens to me as well...i think this generic bug in x1.
So how do I reliably test the bug ? It happens to me sometimes, but I did not find the pattern yet.
Watch my video (top of this page) to see how I did it (I've shot myself (with a camera ) couple of times doing it).
If that doesn't work, try to load some app. Like any game that somehow reacts to your touch (even Bejeweled works). Then try touching really fast and repeatedly. It shoud happen.
Here's a sound recording of me tapping a jewl in Bejeweled (i'm really hitting the display, do it more gently). It should give you an idea how fast you need to tap. Right before 0:06 the screen stopped responding, i did 4 taps to verify, and then another, and then it started responding again (3 more taps). Sometimes all it takes is 5 seconds (like it did here), but other times, your hand will start to hurt before it happens. Just rest a little bit and then try it again.

Mp3 player and Audiobooks

Hi.
I have recently aquired an audiobook, and as there is already the option to listen to MP3 on the G1 I was sure there would be no problem at all.
However after moving the book to the SD card and listening to a few chapters, I took a break, and when i wanted to resume the listening i saw to my surprise that i could only "fast forward" 2 minutes and 54 Seconds on the built in player.
The other option was to click on >> but that would move to the next MP3 file.
I tried to download several other players from the Market, however all of them can only forward 2 minutes and 54 second.... soo my question is, is Audiobooks and other long MP3 files a lost case on the G1 ??
I would really hate to go buy an mp3 player for a problem which should be so simple.
Hope anyone has a hint to what i might be doing wrong.
Best regards

Is the audiobook just one big .mp3 file or is it multiple .mp3 files? And how big and how long is the file(s)?
Hi, and thanks for the reply.
The first file of many has a length of 48 minutes. Others have a length of up to 1 hour.
Its really anoying that I cannot fast forward to where i reached the last time...really thinking about getting a MP3 player instead...
Asking inhere is the last hope
I've noticed that depending on which of the files I try to read it can fast forward a varying amount of time. From 2m54s to 4m50s. However that still leaves 55 minutes on the long files.
Btw the soundbook is Stephen King's "The dark tower".
Best Regards
Meant to ask also if you are rooted? And if so what rom are you on? I had this issue a long time ago but with video files instead.
Thank you again for your time.
It is rooted yes, however it was a while ago, and had to spell through all the steps 1 by 1, so not sure where to look for what numbers.
In my settings I have the following digits if that means anything:
Firmware: 1.5
Baseband Version: 62.50S.20.17H_2.22.19.26I
Kernel version: 2.6.27-00392.g8312baf [email protected] #1
Build number: Dream_Devphone-userdebug 1.5 CRB43 148830 test-keys
In another thread people say they can fast forward in songs that last for 10minutes... perhaps there is a upper limit for how long the MP3 can last ? (Since it says unknown length on my long ones).
Best regards

You are on JF 1.5 which is pretty much just like the standard factory rom. When I had my issue I was on the stock rom and couldn't fast forward movies just like your saying. I haven't tried any real long files since I've been loading custom roms. Later on tonight I can try to load a real long file and see if it still happens. But I have played some songs over 10 minutes and it fast forwarded just fine since being on newer roms. So my next thing to you would be, if you want to wait and let me try to replicate the problem and see if its the same or if you want to load a real custom rom like Cyanogens and see if it works then.
Have you tried using a different audio player? I listen to a ton of podcasts, which are big files as well, and simply found that the stock music app just doesn't do a great job with big files. I have had much better luck with Meridian. I can pause anywhere in a file and be sure that it will resume there once I restart, even after a system reboot.

Anyone using imapmyrun ?

Hi folks,
as I said in an earlier post about the gps I wanted to test at the same time my old iphone 3GS and my new samsung galaxy S
I thought it would be best to use the same software and the only one I can think of was imapmyrun.
So this weekend my wife was driving on the highway ( so no building and the sky was cloudless) and I thought it was the perfect time
I siwthed on impamyrun on both.
On the iphone the fix took maybe 10 sec and the blue dot was moving witht he car and on the road ( so at leat 10m precision)
On the samsgun it took maybe 20-30sec to get the fix but then I started to record and ... nothing. The phone totally froze.
I tried to stop but I couldnt
I checked the memory and it was the only app with around 100 mo of memry free
After 10mn of hitting the stop button a reboot, 2-3 kill with autokiller, systempanel ... the record was still on. I the app creashed 10 times ...
So I didn't manage to run my test and I was crazy on my seat trying to make it work.
So ... anyone using it ? does it work fine ? Do you use an external sd card ?
For fun I used mytracs this morning during my run ( sunny like hell and on the coastal walk so no building closer than 100m) and look at what I got
http://maps.google.com/maps/mm?ie=UTF8&hl=en&ll=37.0625,-95.677068&spn=53.609468,97.294922&t=h&z=4
A little bit scarry but as I have nothing to compare with it's a little bit useless
I am using JM2 with no extra fix

So why start a new thread about this, you already been in other GPS error threads. Try to be a little bit focused otherwise you may be considered as just complaining for some strange reason. Change your signature to the right firmware it now says JFF.
ok that's true
Actually the main purpose of my thread is imapmyrun
This is the software I use for my run and ride and I was using it on my iphone
So the only question I have is : is there anyone using it and do you have any trouble.
My feeling is that it has been ifrst done for the iphone and then maybe poorly ported to android ( mytracks is not bugged like this one ....)
EDIT : signature updated ...
Would it be possible to move this thread to the apps part instead of general ??
Hi,
I can't Save my workouts with Xperia X8 Android 2.1, it always report an error. Gps works fine for me

[BUG] - 3D Games Bug

It seems to me that a large number of the more 'graphically intensive' 3D games often have many visual errors, or simply dont work. For me i cannot play Backbreaker, NFS shift, Speedx 3D or even finish a quadrant test.
Backbreaker and NFS just don't start.
Speedx 3D starts but graphics are messed
Quadrant gets to the 2D test but then just stops and goes back to the menu when it should be doing the 3D benchmarks.
Am I the only one experiencing these issues?
Thanks for any cooperation

Quadrant is a known issue, and it's because it's not written to support Gingerbread yet.
I just played a few minutes of Speedx 3D without any apparent issues.
NFS:Shift took a long time to load, and then it Force Closed, but once I said "report" and sent the report to Google, it reloaded itself and I was able to play the tutorial without any issues.
Both games looked pretty good and ran smoothly.
SpeedX 3D and NFS shift work flawlessly for me. Quadrant hasn't been updated yet to support Gingerbread/Nexus S, but that will happen shortly.
From what you're reporting, and if you're on a stock and unrooted ROM, it seems like a faulty PowerVR SGX 540 GPU. See if you can exchange it.
the issue with NFS is that it doesnt keep the screen awake
Hmm
Im glad to know quadrant isnt just me and i think iv sussed why NFS isnt working, i used the app data from my desire which iv heard causes problems so i have deleted and am re downloading the data through the application. Speedx is still giving me problems unfortunatly. And can anyone please test backbreaker? Thanks

It may be because you are touching the screen ie breaking, and gas.
play a track without breaking or using gas or touching the screen in general
Data problems
My download for NFS is being stupid, it is jumping % ages and then it got to 100% after 40 mins, stayed there and i checked the file size in astro and it said only 38 mb was downloaded. I have now restarted the download and its at 41% but is going EXTREMELY slow. Would anyone be kind enough to put the data folder into a dropbox link or something, thanks alot.
EDIT: Also any update on backbreaker?

I'll try again later on, but I wasn't breaking or gassing, or touching the screen for any other reason. I was just cruising along at the default speed in the tutorial. Maybe it's because it's the tutorial.

Ya iono, ive heard of other people having this issue,
regarding NFS Shift
I have been playing it since i purchased it on Xmas for 99c
and it has been working fine without any 3D artefacts
I've noticed in the Quadrant benchmarking, the few times it does actually finish the test, it doesn't show any textures during the 3D tests. The small room with steps on the left are just plain blue, and the planet with moon just look like a white ball and and egg floating by it. I noticed it by running the quadrant side by side with a Galaxy tab. Does anybody's actually show the textures?

you noticed anything like my issue with the screen timing out when not in use
Some good news
Regarding NFS shift it seems the download bar was slowly progressing but wasn't actually downloading anything, had to do the whole 100mb via 3g and its finally working. Speedx is now working after a restart :S. But backbreaker still fails to even get to the splash screen!!
Pocket Legends occasionally hangs to the point where I need to do an ADB reboot - something about "CPU might be pegged" in logcat.

[Q] Touchscreen stalling...

( if you dont wanna read the OMFG wall of text skip down a little ways to the condensed section )
I got my NC last night.. was my 10 year anniversary gift to my self.. the 9 day cruise was my gift to my wife =).. i got the NC to play a few games videos books.. web browse NOT on the boat that WAY EXPENSIVE..$.75 a minute anyways..
That being side i dont really know much about the how rooting terminal side if it.. just good at following directions and above average computer knowledge
Heres where i am.. when i got he NC it was at 1 0 0 i played with it last night, and today i downloaded 1 0 1 flashed that it went fine.. played with it.. then when though the autonooter.. youtube broke on me.. so i uninstalled it with appbrain and installed the EVO youtube app and it worked fine..
one of my fav apps on my Captivate is tubemate and i download music videos on it 720p and it plays them great.. having read here that the NC struggles with this i tried it.. could get them to play but VERY slow... also reading here i know that OC the NC can make a big difference so i did a little more research and figured i would flash to Decad3nce 1 1r2 and then install the 1100mhz kernel and those all flashed just fine.. youtube still runs and everything but the touch screen seems VERY sluggish at times.. like it just dosnt want to work for a few seconds then starts working fine for a bit ~10 seconds then back to stalling.. i know some people have had this but no one ever said any kind of solution to it.. so any help would be great
condensed version
bought NC
installed 1.0.1
Autonootered
fixed youtube
installed Decad3nce 1.1r2
installed 1100 OC kernel
touchscreen seems to stall now
ALSO i remember seeing a list of manufacture defect but cant seem to find it.. anyone got a link?
Mine seems to not be quite sealed on the left side.. if the screen is on i can see the backlight though the crack in 2,3 places just small pin hole size places... is this halfway normal?
the touchscreen is documented on the OC installs - you just have to press the power switch momentarily as if taking the system to sleep, then press it again - should take care of the sluggishness
