tilt with htc home plug in customizer not working? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

I tried installing the customizer program, it installed fine but when i went to go run it, says that the htc home plug in not installed, when it prompts me to install it I say ok then it errors out.

have you tried installing htc home seperately?

Have you installed SDK Certs .cab?

goodness, where to begin.
1) This is not a ROM DEVELOPMENT issue, and as such should be posted in the Kaiser General forum, or at the very least in the software forum.
2) You haven't told us what rom, or what version of home is installed on your phone.
3) For that matter you didn't even tell us which version of htc home customizer you're using.
4) Wherever you got the program from would have been a much better place to post this question, we don't need a lot of additional redundant threads in here.
Anyway, you get my point i'm sure. Please observe the forum policies and search, read, and THEN post in the appropriate thread.
I agree with post #2, this is a simple fix...just install a htc home cab again, and the error will disappear

Jeez, did you bother to read what the HHC program told you???
This is a very easy to figure out issue.
HHC is based on OLDER cab type plugins, that put the graphic files in a folder in \HTCHome.
Cooked in newer versions place ALL FILES IN WINDOWS.
So either manualy move the HHC downloaded files to \windows or reinstall a older cab file version.

HTC Action Screen

Is there any reason why this won't work on my Kaiser ?
Installed the CAB a few times, installs fine, but the nothing
Should work fine. Which one did you install? I've seen 2 versions. One that installs the link in the Programs folder and one that doesn't and you have to create one yourself.
If you don't see it in your Programs folder use File Explorer to browse the Windows directory for "HTCActionScreen"
Fixed
Thank you, found and corrected, I had the shortcutless version.

In need of help

I have just got a 8925 but i want to add some roms to it: ultimate launch, pocket cm, ifonz, & iphone interface. I am not sure of the best way to do this. Should they be added all at the same time, or do i have to add them one by one? Also i am not sure how to unlock the phone so that I can add these apps to the device. I have searched the forums and I haven't found a tutorial for this.
Any ideas?
If you want to be really sure you won't get any problems, soft reset after every installation. This IS overkill, since apps that need a soft reset will ask for one, but it won't hurt you.
Install Kaisertweak first:
http://www.jongma.org/KaiserTweak/KaiserTweak.zip
Extract the zip to your phone and run the extracted .exe from your phone. One of the options found under "Security": "Not-certified Warning". Disable the warning and exit the program (hope you meant this by 'unlocking'). The nag you used to get will be gone.
Good luck!
I think you may mean you want to add some applications and not ROMs? You don't need to unlock your phoine to install applications on them. If you want to flash a different ROM, then you will have to use HardSPL and flash the ROM
Here's pocket CM:
http://www.pocketcm.com/contact.php
Ultimate Launcher:
http://www.ultimatelaunch.de/
As for the Iphone interface, there are plenty of icons floating around, and on the the 'post your today screen' thread on the Kaiser general section, there are massess of info from users on how to achieve an Iphone look to their Kaiser and has links to Iphone Icons
HTC Home customiser is the simplest programme I know where you can input iphone icons and themes to your phone

Do i need to hardspl my device to add rom's or can i just softspl?
I suspect you haven't quite understood some basics.
ROM = like Windows. There are 'shipped' ROMs (factory/default/shipped ROMs) and custom ROMs (Dutty/Alex/.../homemade ROMs). You always have 1 ROM 'installed' on your device; otherwise your device wouldn't function (just like a PC without Windows)
CAB = applications. Ultimate Launch, PocketCM, iFonz, & iPhone interface are apps. On PC you need to execute an .exe file (mostly setup.exe) to install an applications. PocketPC's don't work with .exe installers, they work with .cab installers.
Given your posts, I think you only want to install some applications. That means installing .cab files. No need for any ****SPL here.
If you really are already thinking of replacing your shipped ROM, than you WILL NEED HardSPL. But given your explanation I don't think you were planning on doing that.
Hope this clears some things up.
Good luck and welcome...
Can you have more than one rom on a device and just switch back and forth whenever you want to use one or the other?

Nope and why do you want to switch ROMs?

Do a search. on either google or on this forum before asking plz.
This question has been answerd before.
But sins there was no thread that was acualy called like your question ill post the answer and maby next time when someone search they will defenetly find the answer
Go to the link below and download the program and install it on your computer.
When its done it will install it on your phone aswell. (so keep it connectded to the computer while you install it)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Go here
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3C6B-42F1-9FD9-0041345B3385&displaylang=en
If you read the instructions, it will tell u.
This package uses ActiveSync 4.0 to update the device. Before running NETCFSetupv35.msi, connect your device to your PC. If your device is not connected, ActiveSync will store the CAB file and will not install the package until you connect. If you are not using ActiveSync, run the CAB files on the device that correspond to the device–specific CAB files found in the install folder.
For now, it's not possible to download directly the cab file from MS site
google for the following files:
- NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab
- netcfcfg.cab (saves yourself from editing registry)
You will identify trust-worthy locations easy
Easier than you can imagine.
Search MODACO forum ( www.modaco.com ) NETCFCFG.cab and NETCFv35.vm.armv4i.cab
Install both and you will have a simple application in program menu to choose between net 2.0 and 3.5. DONE
You can also choose to use 2.0 for some applications and 3.5 for other
thnks y´all i found it on modaco, got it worked!!
pls help, I can't install it
it writes: "installation error. stop all applications and processes, maximize available storage space, and run installation again. Support info: 3"
I cant even uninstall it, and I get this msg always
"installation error. stop all applications and processes, maximize available storage space, and run installation again. Support info: 3"
Solution: I kill Kaiser Notification and then I can install .NET Framework without this problem. This app. using .NET Framework.
So I think the solution is in closing/killing all running applications.
What is the "kaiser notification"?
I have the same install error.
Thank you.
i have the same installation error as the last two posters. i tried killing every program i can and i still get the error
me too !......still can not install netcf v3.5 !!
After 2 days searching high & low through internet all discussion session, still can not find a solution. Therefore I made a self tracing and tried all kinds of method, at last I found a solution without doing a hard reset !!
rename mscoree.dll under windows\ to mscoree.dll.txt
re-install netcf v3.5
no more any error code comes up
thats it !!
I am running a tytn II, with the same problem. Install, i get the error. I can't uninstall, atleast not when I try through the 3.5 installer (remove or repair) or the "remove programs" on the kaiser.
I have hard reset the phone 2x,and regardless of whether I am installing from the exe or the cab file on the phone, still get the same error as everyone else.
This past time, i tried changing the name of the mscoree.dll under windows\ to mscoree.dll.txt and mscoree35.dll to mscoree35.dll.txt
same problem. I'm really beyond annoyed. Can someone help?
have a sprint diamond, how do i check which version i have and if its the newest?
it seems like all the programs i try and install say it requires a newer version than the one installed on the device but its only a month old so im not sure.. any help would be great..
thanks!!
I have the same question. I've searched all over and can't find an explanation of what .Net 3.5 is or how to find out if I have it already. I have a Sprint (CDMA) HTC Touch Diamond. Thanks.
I had the same problem on my HTC Kaiser, but I found a solution.
I found a program that acts like safe mode on a computer.
So if you install that program and restart in safe mode (you need to select safe mode when you boot), you will be able to install the compact framework 3.5.
Probable some locked files prevent the normal installation.
The program is an evaluation version, limited to 14 days, but since you only need it for the framework, you don't need to keep if you don't want to.
The app: SafeMode 3
...still not working on my touch diamond.
i've renamed the dll and tried the safe mode app. But I still get the same error.
btw: i have this problem since i installed a cooked rom.
Thanks. Was also having the install issue (I had previously installed and then removed 3.5 but good old ms clearly didn't remove correctly).
Renaming mscoree.dll worked (I tried mscoree2.5.dll before but that didn't work as it was in use so I couldn't rename that).
Glad it worked, was facing dropping back to previous backups or installing a task manager to kill processes (a good task manager program will show all your processes), just to reinstall 3.5.
another thing that goes wrong with the 6.5 wm and tf3d installed:
when you go to the movies, and you put your phone into vibrate, with the left volume keys, the phone goes into vibrate fine,
but when you set it back to full volume, the next time someone calls, it only vibrates, you have to go to: Settings, Sound and change the ringtone manualy to make it ring again...
Sorry, Wrong Forum...

Upgrading Opera

Hello! I appreciate very much what this comunity does for all of the pocket pc owners out there. That being said, could someone please post a how-to on upgradin Opera 9.5 without upgrading the firmware, please? I've searched the forum but people seem not to want to answer to this question. Maybe it's an idiotic question.. When i try to upgrade mine it says that it cannot remive the previous version, and when i press yes on wanting to continue at the end it says installation not successful! Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Hmm... Doesn't anyone know this? 75 people read this and no one? I find this very strange. I hoped that other people were having this question. Thank you!
If you just want to upgrade, uninstall the old version if you are able and install the latest cab or find an upgrade version. If you can't uninstall, just install the new version overtop of the old. If you install over top make sure you are launching the proper executable. You can check your version by going to help, about Opera, and look for your build version at the top. That's it!
Next time try doing a little more reading, the answer is out there!!!!!
To Upgrade the Stock Version of Opera on a Diamond
Hi. It's unusual that somebody hasn't posted these complete steps before. So here we go:
To upgrade the stock version of Opera on a Diamond without flashing a new ROM
1. Go to the Opera thread here. Don't bother trying to install the official (non-Diamond) beta of Opera as it's more trouble than it's worth. Use the official Diamond Opera betas in the link here. You also should not try to uninstall the Opera version you already have on your Diamond
2. Download the Diamond Opera version that you would like. Choose the Upgrade zip package, not the Full Install package
3. Open the downloaded zip file and extract the three files (Opera9.exe, OperaL.exe, OperaPreL.exe)
4. Transfer these to a folder on your Diamond. eg "New Build"
5. Make a backup of the original Opera9.exe, OperaL.exe and OperaPreL.exe that is in the Windows folder of your Diamond. This is in the event that the new Opera build doesn't work as expected and you want to go back to the previous version
6. Use Resco File Explorer or similar to copy and paste the three files from the "New Build" folder to the Windows folder on your device. This will overwrite the old Opera files with the new ones. You can't use the standard WM6 File Explorer to do this as it won't let you overwrite the old files
7. Reset
8. The new build of Opera is now installed. Before you do anything else, return to the Windows folder on your Diamond and locate the "ghost images" of the older Opera build that are left behind (these have filenames along the lines of Opera9.exe.$7 and OperaL.exe.$22 or similar; make sure you don't try to delete the newer Opera9.exe and OperaL.exe files!) Deleting these unnecessary "ghost images" will free up lots of space.
For the record, I'm currently using build 1938 of Opera (extracted from a newer Diamond ROM). I don't recommend using the newest 2128 build as it comes with lots of issues such as excessive boot time, problems loading TouchFlo 3D favourites, etc. I think this new build is only designed to work alongside a newer version of TouchFlo 3d. The 1938 build works great for me though. Very quick, no issues. Still waiting for them to improve the Favourites list in Opera itself; it's a shambles.
Hope that helps
Dave
thank you
Now this is what a call a very good walktrough! Thank you for your help! I installed the version you sugested and it works perfectly! I guess it's quite easy when you know what to do.
+1 Thank you for this clear explanation.
Ciao
Fred
Thanks for the brilliant guide, I tried a cab upgrade earlier and killed opera completely (had to restore my sprite backup from the morning).
I'll give this a go
THANK you for the VERY clear and well written set of instructions on this, I just got my Diamond (US Unlocked Version) today, and you saved me a lot of headaches!
i upgraded to opera 9.5.2745
just run the .cab and it was done without any problems...
but the icons turn out really small after the install.. other than that, everything works great?
got my opera from this link (not sure if external links are allowed, pls remove if its not!)

You might have a QVGA version. This thread has links to both VGA and QVGA versions, but there is apparently a problem with the VGA version posted:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442252
See post #115 of the thread, someone has helpfully posted instruction on how to get the QVGA version working in VGA. Simply replace the skin file and the loading image (png file) and edit your opera.ini file with new zoom settings.

[Q] Please advise. Cannot install NETCF v35..

I have the Manila Maxsense 2.5 UI on my tp2. I just updated it to the latest sense 2.5 for September 4. I cannot get the net compact frame v35 to install after I install sense 2.5. It is telling me:
'A later version of the .NET Compact Framework is already installed. If you want to install this version, first remove the existing version.'
Can someone tell me how to do this. It is not in the remove programs in settings folder. I had my sense 2.5 up and working along with the android project software on the sd card. I decided it might be a good idea to save all my settings to restore phone, program, icon etc., then hard reset the phone. Along with this I reformatted my sd card (8gb) with fat 32. Then placed the phone settings restore files back onto th sd card. Now I can't install the dual boot with the android software.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance to whomever can help.
I have searched this forum up and down, along with google for a day and a half for a solution to this problem.
Thanks,
Paul H
What ROM?
Is there any reason to believe that the latest version of .NETCF is not already installed?

it should also ask you "do you want to uninstall current version of net compact"
(usually it does) press yes and you are good to go.
(I need to install the: (NETCFv35.wm.armv4i)....
(Energy.RHODIUM.24631.Sense2.5.MaxSense.Sep.04) - ROM.
This is what I want to figure out. If the ROM already has it.
When I try to install it, I get that message"
('A later version of the .NET Compact Framework is already installed. If you want to install this version, first remove the existing version.')
I understand that when you install a regular application for the TP2, it will ask you if you want to uninstall it before it installs the new app. Then it simply installs.
This doesn't give me that choice. It is basically telling me to uninstall something that isn't there; at least on my SD card. I save all cab files to a folder on the SD card. Only applications that are ROM critical are installed in the phones main memory. Now, when I try to open the file: (GenY-DualBOOT-v1.0.6.0-CAB) to attempt to boot up: (ProjectAndroid2.2BLAZN.083010), the Dual Boot file will not install. It says that I need to install the: (NETCFv35.wm.armv4i) file. I can't find another copy of a compact framework file anywhere to uninstall. I had this same, new Sept. 4 ROM installed yesterday along with android and they worked pretty awesome together, in my opinion. Maybe I should just post this in the android forum. I just don't want to piss people off by posting something that has already been posted, and in which I searched XDA website and can't find any solutions.
Once I get this up and going I am going to start making donations for the ROM makers and android project!
Oh, and I do understand the android is not a full ROM. I just want to get them to load up fine.
Thanks for anyone's help!

Pretty sure the Energy ROMs have the latest version cooked in.

Yea, that is what I'm pretty sure of. But why will the dual boot not install? I do think it is burned into the ROM also. That's why I am puzzled.
you already have the latest version of netframework cooked in your rom.
you can always install a small program called netcfg to make sure which version of net cf you are using.

Hay 'the show stopper', that helped a lot! This was a utility was the foremost resolution to the conflicts I was/am having! I finally got the android back up and running, and so far I have been able to run android just fine. I am going to keep on researching the the xandroid software as it is being updated!
Thanks,
Paul
