Thats the unbranded version same phone just no cingular crap.
That's the Kaiser. The site just took a normal picture of the HTC Kaiser and labeled it the 8925. The 8925/Tilt will probably say ATT on it and depending on the version it won't have the htc home plugin (Based on rumours) and it may not have the video camera.
Hey guys on my 6800 when dialing a number it says what state the area code is, how can i get this feature on my Tilt?? thank you
and is it possible to have it while calling in?? thanks
I think that's just a Sprint feature.
I used to have it on my cell phone with Sprint, and you say you have it on your Mogul now. I've had Windows Mobile phones on T-Mobile and now AT&T, and neither has it.
Someone correct me if you've ever seen the state name displayed next to a phone number on the screen of any phone other than Sprint.
Yeah almost all my sprint phones had that feature, damnit i find it rather usefull sometimes when i refuse to answer a call and find out who it can possibly be.. Well if anyone knows how to get this on our phones, i know they have it for the mogul, so it must be somewhere in the rom...
Sometimes I am amazed at the lack of applications for WM5/WM6 versus the Palm. I had a Treo before the Tilt and no matter what, there seemed to be a program for everything, including AreaCodes. When I cam to Windows, I assumed there would be 1,000's more, but it is simply not true!
Sorry for that......
You would think it would be pretty simple... just have the phone display the state name matched from a list of all the area codes and their states...
Maybe someone can cook a cab? I would if i know how to do it
Hi all,
I have a problem with my Kaiser (unbranded) as it can never detect a 3G network (O2). I'm on O2 Simplicity. My mate has a Hermes also with O2 simplicity and he can get 3G with no problems at all. We have even tried swapping O2 SIM cards and there is no difference. So its not SIM related.
I am assuming it could be a radio problem. I have tried using a few different radios including the newer SEDNA and Niki versions but still no luck. I'm sick of seeing just that 'G' on the top of the screen when my mate can get '3G' and 'H' with no problem.
Has anyone seen this problem before with the Kaiser and if so is there any advice or specific radio's that may help me?
Kind Regards
Cat
Hi,
I had the same problem and I had to send it to HTC, who replaced the main board. Works fine now.
do you have any contacts / addresses ...I live in the UK. How long did it take for them to fix it and send it back?
I bought my phone off Ebay... and have modified the ROM, does that mean i have no warranty now and will have to pay a lot of money for the repair?
Cheers

I got me a Touch Diamond in the rounder shape of the T-Mobile MDA Compact IV. It came in a sealed box from eBay and I've used unlocking software that I also found on eBay. As it turns out, this software seems to originate from this forum.
As far as I've researched it, right after the lock was removed, the phone started sending SMS messages to the number SMS032837 each time it is reset (since I've never used this phone locked it *could* have done this already, but I doubt it). Even if I switch off the GSM radio, and then reset, the phone waits for the radio to come back on and immedately sends a message.
I have no clue to what's the message is about or whoever is the recipiant but that's not the main issue here; it should not do this, period.
ROM: 1.37.110.3
Radio: 1.20.OliNex
Protocol: 52.26a.25.09U
Anyone any idea what is going on?
TIA,
XDArjen
sorry i dont have any idea
try this steps
1-try hard reset
if not work
2- you have an old ROM so
upgrade it to the latest ROM for your country or use cooked ROM if you want
Could a program similar to RemoteTracker be installed on your Diamond ?
That would explain the SMS, as the software detects that you changed the SIM card.
yea sounds like some program like remotetracker, try flashing a new ROM, as i assume it's build into the ROM by the seller, no idea why though.

Hi,
I`ve got MDA Compact IV on T-Mobile UK with original ROM and Radio (I just need to) and I`ve noticed that after every re-boot it sends above mentioned by you text.
Actually, it sends 2 texts: 1st to 32837 (on the on-line bill it`s clasified as
"unbranded" and it`s free of any charge)
2nd to 100203005 (clasified as "SMS text messaging" and it is also free).
I was surprised as well, so started to investigate.
I`ve found that above texts got something to do with W`n Walk service and T-Mobile My Faves and they are like a system messages.
They are NOT using any of the tariff allowances and they are completely free.
I`m sure because I`m checking my bill very carefully every month and it is my 3rd bill since I started using Compact IV.
I think that every HTC Diamond and MDA Compact IV sends those texts when logging into GSM Networks, but not every network provider shows them on their bills. With T-Mobile it shows on My T-Mobile On-Line account, but not on any paper or electronic bill.
There is more info about the case on other forums, just "google" them numbers and you will find it.
So, DON`T PANIC, everything is in order.
P.S.
My handset is unlocked and I was using foreign SIM card with, whilst on holiday and I haven`t noticed any extra charges for above texts, nor any other problem.
Regards.

Hey snark_be,
I'm not sure, it's a brand new T-Mobile that I got in a sealed box. The owner got it as an upgrade but didn't want it. So it came locked to T-Mobile and I had to unlock it since I'm not a T-Mobile customer.
Could T-Mobile be using this tracking method? The seller of the unlocker could have added it, I don't know, he hasn't answered my email (yet).
The SMS goes anytime the device boots, not just after inserting the SIM.
HTC ROM upgrade site rejects my serial number if I want to download a new ROM.

That was the plan, but that seem's a bit of a hornet's nest. Can I assume safely that the T-Mobile is a true HTC Touch Diamond? Will I be able to return to non-brick if something doesn't work? I mean when I install Hard-SPL first (it's installed already by the unlocker, but an older version, like 1.24)?

Tom, they show up on my bill, so I have to pay for them. And my provider logs them as International calls.
I don't have the luxury of sitting idle because it make the device useless as a phone. I will peruse the forum about this matter but I was already planning upgrading the ROM as I find the device very unresponsive.
have a look in the rom section here and install a new one

Just flash the latest HardSPL, 1.93 I think, and then head over to the Diamond Wiki and download/flash the newest WWE ROM you find (1.94 I think).
Hi, I'm new here. *waves*
I'm trying to unlock my HTC Touch Diamond on Bell Mobility in Canada and I've run into a couple questions.
1. How do I tell if my phone is CDMA or GSM?
I know for a FACT it doesn't have a sim card (which I believe is the defining factor between the two)... but for some reason the search results I've been getting just fail to clarify whether or not Bell Canada is GSM or CDMA. I believe they went GSM in 2010 but since my phone is pre-2010 I'm not entirely sure.
2. Is my phone even really a Diamond?
For a while I was wondering if my phone was actually a victor p3702, (I know... same $#!+ different pile, right?) but in the images I got from Google I became VERY confused as my phone has a 3.2mp camera and the flat backing, and has that subtle slight curve to the bottom of the screen and says Touch Diamond when I boot it up. All the images I can find are of phones with a 3.1mp camera.
3. Do I even need to do this?
All I want to do is get custom ROMS for the phone. I heard in my internet travels that for a CDMA phone you don't need to unlock for new ROMs... just roaming and all that jazz.
4. WTF!?
Apparently the only unlocker for CDMA diamonds in existance is on the PPCGeeks site, but it gives me a damn 502 every time I go to check it out. Are there any others out there?
