Hi folks
Each time I reboot my HTC Kaiser I keep getting the "Connection Setup" notification dialog.
It reads as follows:
Connection Setup
The operator does not exist in the database. Please contact your operator for the connection settings.
Connection Setup will redirect you to the Connections screen.
Click to collapse
Is there any way to disable this notification?
I've also experienced this when moving between different GSM operators, which is extremely annoying
Thanks in advance

First of all, thanks to all of you for creating these wonderful apps for the TYTN II. Much appreciated.
I was wondering, if it is possible for you to create an app (or if there is already one available) that disables the "Connecting..." and "Connectivity..." pop up bubbles/windows that appear when you connect to the Internet. Thanks in advance!
Yes, I am looking for the same thing. I sometimes get the cannot dial ... popup that deactivates copilot live for me. Is there a method to disable or silent this using registry edit?

You don't need a custom app for this. It is a part of the notifications found in the System folder.
Go to Settings | Sounds & Notifications | Notifications tab
Set the "Connection established" and "Connection Disconnected" events and set what you want it do or not do.
Thank you for your prompt and most helpful solution.
The suggestion above does not work for me (vario3 stock rom)- I have the options for both these events deselected, but the "Display mesage" option is greyed out on the "Connection disconnected" event.
Very annoying when using Tomtom traffic, the bubble comes up whenever you are out of reception and has to be ok'd to get back to tomtom
I have several applications that access the internet every so often, and everytime one of them does it, a window pops up "informing me" that the phone is "connecting to MediaNet". It is a very annoying window because it pops up on top of anything that I am doing (for example dialing). Is there a way to turn this off? I really do not want to know when the phone connects to MediaNet.
Thanks a lot,
Juan
Do you just want to turn that message off or completely disable MediaNet?
getting rid of the message in general would be fantastic. I am annoyed by it as well. even the ISP message comes up all the time too when connecting GPS
Yes, let's get rid of the message. I second that request for know-how. I haven't googled for it. I assume you have, original poster. Thanks for whoever has answer. Sometimes I have my media net turned off and it beeps to let me know there is no data connection. I would like that disabled as well.
this has been bugging the $8[t outta me!
Sometimes in the past , the messages kicked me out of S2U2. My phone stays on and does stuff like call my mom while I'm shooting the $h!7 with my buddies.
If it bugs you, just turn it off.
If I remember correctly: Start...Settings...Sounds & Notifications. Hit the Notifications tab, navigate the drop down Event box to "Connection established" and uncheck the tick boxes (especailly the "Display message on screen" box), hit OK and it will be gone.

That's correct.

This sounds like the right answer. Trying it right now. Thanks for your help.
Is there anyway of automatically ending data connection after phone
has downloaded email,
I set phone up to automatically download email from my hotmail account
every hour and it works just fine but after downloading email the data
connection stays on
You might want to have a look on GB-SOFT GPRS/UMTS Tweak.

...or set "Long Press End Key" to "Terminate data connection"
or if you double tap the 'end call' key, it also appears to kill the data connection if it's not in use
May be that's just me and I'm dumb. But if I go to parameters/connection/ I get the only alternative to chose my provider for automatic setting.
The only time I was allowed to access the usual WinMo connection setting menu (creating, editing a connection) was at the start when I couldn't connect to the internet. I got an error message with an option to check parameters. And then I got the usual full WinMo menu. I selected the right connection and now all is fine... but I don't know how to go back to this menu!
TF3D Settings tab > More > Phone > Network tab ?
Yup! Thanks
Dear all
Does someone know how I disable "channel 50 broadcasts"?
Within "Settings > Messaging > Community BroadCast" i clicked in the upper right on the "..." to enter "Cell Broadcast settings". I was able to disable all sorts of settings like "Turn on notifications". Unfortunately when I disable the "Show channel 50 broadcast" and I re-enter the setting window this entry is enable again.
I get all day a few annoying cell broadcast messages showing on which cell I'm not logged in.
I also issued the below adb command which opened the same broadcast setting window:
adb shell am start -n com.android.cellbroadcastreceiver/com.android.cellbroadcastreceiver.CellBroadcastSettings
I'm on newest ZUI Stock Rom 2.5.355 ST.
I do have two SIM cards from same Operator (one private & one business number). I'm not sure if there should be separate broadcast message settings per SIM card. Unfortunately I do not see an option to select the SIM card...
Thank you for any hints.

Hi, mixmaniax.
For my Zuk I've faced the same issue when tried to disable the cell broadcasts.
Have not found the way to disable it, or delete without having root on board, though you can disable the notifications that are harrassing and messing the notification bar:
1. Slide up from the middle of the screen to open the hidden search menu
2. Type Apps and click on Apps menu
3. Press three dots in the right top corner, choose show system
4. Click Cell Broadcasts - Permissions - Disable SMS
Hope it helps.
Dear kadabusha,
I've done what you suggested and for the time being it seems to have resolved my problem with these annoying messages
Thank you very much for your valuable and appreciated help. :good:
