Should I be upset that mUn's WM6 aRTM was up for 5$ on ebay, and he wasn't the one selling it?

I just went to Ebay and typed in "Windows Mobile 6" into their Search Engine. Just look at what came up!!! And, they originated from THIS forum, I'm sure. . .

I have used WM6 ROMs and I'm grateful for the cooks providing them, but let's call a spade a spade here - it's NOT "freeware". Microsoft make WM available to ODMs for a licence fee.

I must admit I did not know ODMs were not being charged for WM5->WM6 upgrade paths, however a free upgrade is not freeware.

I did. Two of the listings were pulled within 1/2 hour and I've notice that a third one has now been pulled. The only items left are the Wizard phones with WM6 pre-installed. Those probably won't last much longer.

Selling themes you created is fine since you're the author but selliing something somebody else has put together and released for free is wrong to say the least....

Well i have reported both of them, due to the fact that if someone on here has put alot of work into it, NO-ONE should be selling it on, that will just bring more problems from microsoft to this site! As we are one of the biggest sites, if not the best for the wizard.
If it is given for free, no-one can be seen to be getting money from copy right of microsoft!

I am deeply sorry

Last weekend, while i was at a batchelors party my roomate found it funny to use my user name to create posts. This ended up in me being banned for 7 days and the vulgarity used was very disrespectful to me and this community. He is/was pissed of at me because he hasnt chippd in on rent in about 2 1/2 months so i told him last friday he needed to move. So as i was at the party he used my user name (because cookies enabled im always logged in) and created a new user name using a diffrent broswer. I hope you members can accept my apologie, as im deeply sorry. This was extremely embarrasing to me. And now i have kicked this mother out of my home. again i am deeply sorry for the actions last weekend, and once again i hope you all can forgive the situation. As I previously stated in those threads, I didn't think that was you anyway. Just seemed really out of character to me. Almost child like I thought. I really appreciate the support, bad thing is this guy has been a really good friend since college. And ever since he moved in with me its been a nightmare. Well now he had moved in with his parents. I am also filing suit in small claim's to get back rent and utilites that he never paid.

Dude!! I was in the same exact situation. I kicked this one guy out, not because of rent, but because of disrespect. He would bring his gf at night and you know what when I was trying to get sleep. I gave the guy consideration to have the place to himself for a few hours. What I did was told him to watch a movie with him and his girlfriend as well as me adn my girlfriend. The movie was called You Me and Dupree (if I got it right) He got the point I was trying to make and at the end of the movie we got in an argument. I won. Yay!

Im Back !

I learned so much from these forums last year while modding my MDA, well after a year of being gone and getting tired of Sidekicks and Tmobiles Bull**** and junking them, Getting sprint and loving EVDO and going through Motorola Q9 , i picked up an HTC Vogue. Glad to see the community here is still thriving ! Cant wait to go through more threads and see some of the advances you guys have made in the last year. Already seen quite a few that make me want to grab another MDA.
Well hopefully i can figure out a solution for my fingers being to big for the touchscreen keyboard !!

You're unlikely to get any help on this, since the number one reason to change an IMEI is to get around a network block on a stolen phone. Most of the people here paid a lot of good money for their phones, and don't want to give any assistance to thieves (whether you are one or not makes no difference, any information posted here could easily help or encourage others to steal and crack these phones).
Changing IMEI's is illegal in many countries anyway, so there's a good chance you'd be committing a crime just by doing it, even if the phone is yours.

IMEI changing is going to get you sore!
EDIT: Oh and search, this has been discussed to death on here before.

Im stuck doing a boring risk analysis (I'm a Software Developer, normally) at work. Every 5 minutes I get distracted and end up on here.

ok first we need to debunk a few things. One if some crackhead stole a phone they wouldnt go through all this trouble to sell a phone when they could just sell it on the street or craigs list for that matter. On top of that this is my phone I dont need to steal a few hundrad dollar phone.
Two as far as it being a crime I know that my local law enforcemnt A probablr doesnt even know what a imei is nor do they care as they have enough real crimes and speeding tickets to write, this reminds me of cutting that tag off a matress.
Three I did do a search with allot of this bs on the black helicopters are going to get you crap, but the threads had little usefull data...people how is this diffrent from spoofing a mac or breaking the sim lock lol reach down grab your balls and wake up!
Now I doubt I would go through much trouble to bother with this (I havent even loaded a new rom), so could someone amuse me with this?

I think the problem is that if xda devs provides information on how to change the imei they could be held accountable. Todays curent climate of terrorism bs that the security services make up to justify thier own existance means if you change ur imei they can slam you with some trumped up charge (or atleast in this country).
People who change thier imei have something to hide, or so they say. Sim unlocking isnt classed as that bad, and for mac spoofing I cant comment.
There was a thread somewhere discussing theory, but I havent seen it in a while. I cant post a link cos im on opera mini. There was some good info in the link i posted by vijay.

Another though, think of it as changing your VIN number on your car, why would you ever want to do such a thing.
Also, I have re-read the vijay post now, and theres a link to a site where you can get more info. Please read V's advice, don't get us into trouble and be nice to each other .

Go grab your own balls, FFS. You think we should "amuse" you with information that makes these phones more stealable, more re-sellable, more targetted by crims? Forget that. If the information is already out there somewhere, you get off your arse and go find it. If it isn't, good.

As far as stealbility (sp?), you guys DO REALIZE that the people that steal phones and stuff of that ilk don't think that far ahead...right??? If they cant sell the phone the probably just through it out, though in the end of the day its is the same for the guy that gets his phone stolen.

I have 2 UNUSED (mint condition) Micahael Jackson Tickets in Manila when he was there last December 1996. I was wondering how much should I auction them in ebay?

I might just do this. I bought the tickets for me and my ex-girl friend now my friend. She was returning them to me back in 2000, but I told her to keep it safe and someday it will be worth something. I asked her about it yesterday and she said...Yeah I still have it...so we might try and see how much we can get from it or it's value now. We weren't able to use it back then because her Mom won't let us go to the concert that day. Don't know why.
