Hi all,
I was wondering, does a TCPMP plugin currently exist for HTC Home, or is there a way for me to change some of the linking code to get it to link to TCPMP instead of Windows Media?
Alternatively, is it possible to do this with HTC Customizer?
I've looked around and I can't seem to find any hints, information on this.
Does anyone know?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Yes, it's possible.
I replaced my (Videos) with (TCPMP) by modifying the registry:
HKLM\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMini\App1_3
Change Path from
\Windows\HTCAlbum.exe
to
\Program Files\TCPMP\player.exe
Change Param from
-mode:camera -type:video
to
(null)
Soft-reset.
Same thing can be done for Music, Photos icons, or other applications (ie. IE, CommManager,...) with HKLM\HTC\Biotouch\APLauncher and appropriate APPx registry.
what is the best height and width to convert or download movies for the att tilt when using tcpmp? and what is the best format avi, mp4,...?
can anybody give me all the tcpmp file/codec?

and tcpmp...
tcpmp has worked in the last couple ROMs. I've been using 0.81.
How's the performance? Is the processor fast?

nice and speedy. I never found the original TyTN a slouch, but now that there's a lot of memory available I can run several apps in parallel (even while playing long audio files).
i have installed coreplayer and tcpmp player on my kaiser. both are excellent on performance. the only thing is that the tcpmp player used to be able to play all the WMV files in my wm5 o2 flame but now on the wm6 kaiser, it wont show the wmv files at all in my video folder.
anyone knows why? is it my setting problem?
thanks, eric

This is an issue with the wmv files that they included on wm6. There is a posting somewhere on the codecodec forums linking to a posting here which has a zip file with the dll's you need. Just unzip them into the codecodec dir.

And I quote.
"Finally, in order to test the horsepower of the TyTN II I installed The Core Pocket Media Player and watched a few sample videos. What amazed me here is that I was able to put a video clip on the internal storage memory of the device that was NOT optimised for pocket PC and despite the DivX video being 640 x 320 it played back without so much of a stutter! This is something that I’ve never been able to do on any other device."

thanks so much i found it and fixed it.
How did you fix it?
i downloaded the 2 wmvencoder.dll files and dragged them into the windows dir, then installed .81 rc1. wmv can be decoded now but the performance is not good. i m still trying to find out why. but now at least it can play wmv files.
Does anyone know the settings for TCPMP and the Kaiser so that it plays video correct when slide is open and flipped up?
At the moment it plays ok in portrait (tap the screen and it goes landscape full screen) but when I actually open and tilt I cant get it to rotate and play full screen. it stays in portrait???
any ideas?

I experience exactly the same thing. I can play wmv files, but the performance is poor.
Did you by any chance find a solution?
PS! The poor performance is experienced in both TCPMP and Coreplayer.
Check this thread out...

Per the above post.
"... I'm using TCPMP and I've found that the following steps help relieve some of the problems.
1. Options/Video:
Change from DirectDraw to Raw FrameBuffer
Uncheck "Dither" (whatever that is)
2. Options/Video/Pixel Aspect Ratio: set to Auto
3. Options/Settings/Advanced
Check "Slow Video Memory"
4. Options/Settings/Buffering
Change "Preload at Underrun" to 85%
Note: I'm using PocketDIVxEncoder to convert everything to AVI files with the right audio/video size and format and I've tweaked the rom quite a bit. The most important setting change I've found to improve response of programs/video came from the vx6700 forums:
H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/GDI/GLYPHCACHE/limit
change setting to either 32758 or 65536
I've tried both, and I'm using 32758 because it's a smaller memory footprint, but 65536 appears slightly faster.

Has not helped much. I am trying to play an H264 file encoded at 640x480, 23.976 frame rate. palying back via the FFmpeg AVC format. Audio sounds fine, but I am getting less than 1 frame per second of video. Is it the H.264 codec? I know it is close to the mp4 format, but one of the posters in the referenced thread said these settings helped (for .mp4), where for me it they do not.

Hi everyone.
I was hoping someone could help me. I have a Kaiser and have tried to crush an .avi file with PocketdivxEncoder. Everything appeared to have worked fine, but when i tried to play the encoded file on the phone - i got the error message "Cannot Play the file".
Disheartening to say the least. I was wondering if anyone come accross thos or a similiar problem and had discovered a way to make it work. Is this codec issue or something more troubling.
Thanks in advance. Incidiently...yes I am very much a newbie - so hoping for the kindness of some strangers here!
you can't read divx with WMP.
Use TCPMP or CorePlayer to play them
TCPMP
I had a look at the TCPMP and there seem to be a helluva lots choices! Any pointers as to what i should be downloading - and what plugins?
cheers
the version you want is 0.72rc1, dont need any plugins if all you wanna watch is the divx files. however i can suggest flash video bundle, that would allow you to watch youtube and other flash streaming videos
Core will play video the best as they've added support for Tilt/Kaiser's "QTV" driver which gives about 35% better playback performance on my divx videos encoded with PDXE. It costs some money, but it's good stuff.
Here's TCPMP which will work OK as long as you keep your video's a reasonable size, say 320x240 with a total bitrate under 500kps.
For Divx you won't need any plug-ins, set to use "raw framebuffer" and you are good to go.
Brilliant
I unzipped the attached file and it doesn't seem to be recognised as an exe file once unzipped! Any help?
don't unzip the attached file. transfer it to your kaiser and run the cab file from there.
Nearly there!
Ok thanks for your help so far! The problem now is there is no sound and some of the sound options on the player are greyed out! Any help! I think its the final hurdle
Does anyone know why TCPMP will not open when accessing mobile Youtube videos? When I try to open a link at m.youtube the stock HTC "Steaming Media" player always opens.
I have:
-a HTC S730
-WM6
-TCPMP Ver. .72RC1
-Installed FLV Plugin 0.4.2
-Associated Files-Flash Video, MMS Protocol, Mpeg, HTTP, AIF, M3U, NSV, OGG, Matroska, Musepack and PLS -and at one point all files
-Done a soft reset
-uninstalled and reinstalled both TCPMP and the plugin
I expect that the TCPMP would open...?? Please correct me if Im wrong.
The reason I want to use the TCPMP player vs the Streaming Media player is that the Streaming Media player has poor A/V quality and Im hoping TCPMP will improve it. Thanks.
You might want to take a look in This thread, might help.
Thanks for the reply. Ive read through the tread, different problem.
Ive downloaded the files and followed the instructions @ ytpocket again. Still opening files with Streaming Media..!!!! Its driving me nuts.
Hmm, if no one has responded by time I wake up i'll take a peak into it I never really use You Tube on my phone and if I do I find the default to be sufficient.
In the mean time double check all the menu options in it to see if you can change the default association, I know you mentioned associated files but the program needs to tell the OS that it will take over instead of the other, this might be accomplished with a simple registry change but again not sure.
Hi guys, i am new to this site but cant find anything on here regarding my device and problem, so want to see if any one else has any ideas...
I Have installed DivX onto my device to playback avi files, but even after converting them to 320x240 and 250kbs with DVD Catalyst...
I have installed TCPMP but that fails to run, logging things to "crash.txt" but i cannot find the log file to find out what is causing it...
So i am unable to play any avi file on my device...
Can any one shed any light on my problems?
Thanks
coreplayer m
Get yourself coreplayer, you can try their trial before you think about purchasing it. it is an awsome media player, i dont even bother to convert my divx/xvid files to compress em down....they play with very few niggles!
Hi, I’m writting to you from Brazil.
I’ve got a TyTN II with WM 6.1 Pro and Windows Media Player Mobile doesn’t play anymore .3gp or .mp4. I can record, but not view it with WMP. It seems a missing codec : " No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection”. I can view it with CorePlayer, but there is some apps that always "call" WMP, like HTC Album.
Someone could help me fix WMP ?
Thanks a lot.
I am in the same boat
The same for me. I don't know why. I tried to install an another version of Windows Media but stil the same. It's annoying when I try to run a video from HTC album. "The filter source could not be loaded". One week I'm on this, I'm bored !
If someone has any information. Thanks.
Hi,
My problems start when I did a registry cleanup with Pocket Mechanic. I could do some file associations with Resco Explorer, but I only fixed the mess with a hard reset. Sorry!!! It seems to be a missing codec, but I think the problem is in the registry.
Same problem
I just noticed it gives me the same message when I try to run videos. I also used Pocket Mechanic to clean the registry.
Any fixes on this?
