JUVS CommMGR 6 button - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hey all,
I installed the JUVS CommMgr because I like the UI much better than the Tilt default Comm Manager. Unfortunately, the JUVS is unable to turn my WiFi on/off.
From the _Setup.xml, it looks like it's trying to use Windows\WLanMgr.exe, which doesn't exist on my Tilt (I do have WLANSettings.exe).
Anyone have a fix for this?
Thanks!
Florp

That's not the issue, and you may not be seeing the wlanmgr.exe because it's hidden.
Goto HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN and change the DeviceName key so that the end of it reads: TNETW12511
There will be a long string of characters before that. Leave that in there.
That also fixes the 10 button comm manager.

I checked that reg entry, and it is already set to "TNETW12511".
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Florp

Change the value from "TNETW12511" into "TNETWLN1" and you should be fine. don't change anything else.
Enjoy !!!!!!

I have a v1615 (Vodafone UK branded TyTnII) and can confirm that the registry setting MUST be "TNETW12511".
Another one that appears to spring up that is also incorrect is "TIACXWLN1". Of course, if yours is a standard HTC and not re-branded to Vodafone as the v1615 then maybe it should be that setting??
I can also confirm that the executable required should NOT be "WLanMgr.exe" but should be instead "WLANSettings.exe".
With the above config, the button works correctly and the Wireless LAN Manager can be loaded from the Settings menu.
I have searched for WLanMgr.exe throughout the device with hidden files enabled without any files being found. I guess it is possible that Vodafone have a different Wireless Manager in their ROM.
For informational purposes, attached are some screen shots of my device:
1 - shows the build etc... is this the right screen to show for ROM or is this just for the version of WM6?
2 - Shows the "HTC.Kaiser.CommManager.3G-GSM-schen.CAB" Comm Manager which now works flawlessly.
3 - Shows my Wireless LAN Manager... Is this the same as others??
Hope the above helps others out in the same predicament.
Now I know what allows me to run this all properly, I may choose one of the other Comm Managers as I really want Push Email included in the list.
On a related note... why is Ringer even included in a Comms Manager?? I know HTC included it originally but seems odd as it's hardly a communications setting!

Confirmed that wlan should be set to "TNETW12511" on Dutch T-mobile branded kaiser

"Show Wireless" Today item and Time sync page

I was perusing thru this list of WM5 hacks:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WM5_Tweaks_Other
and noticed the two at the bottom of the page regarding adding a Wireless status line to your Today screen (bluetooth on/off, wireless on/off as well as wireless network name) and also being able to set your phone to auto-sync the time (handy when traveling). Both hacks worked for me, seem to work real well. I'm sure there is a today plug-in that is similar but this seems to be built-in to WM5.
I'm using the T-Mobile customized 2.17 ROM for Qteks.
AKU2 ROMs tweaks
These are tweaks that have been confirmed to work on AKU2 ROMs, and confirmed not to work on earlier ROMs Show Wireless Today item
By just adding following keys to the registry will get you a nice 'wireless' today item that show Network name/status, WiFi name/status as well as Bluetooth status. Confirmed to work on AKU2 ROMs
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\"Wireless"]
"DLL"="netui.dll"
"Order"=dword:00000000
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
"Type"=dword:00000004
Add time sync page to Phone Settings
To add a time sync page to your Phone Settings (Start > Settings > Phone > Options > Time Zones) , set the following:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\ShowTimeZonesPage = 1 (DWORD decimal)
And to remove again:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\ShowTimeZonesPage = 0 (DWORD decimal)
do i add the " " or do i leave them out cuz i tried it with and it isnt working im using 2.17 rom
Leave them out except for the "" around Wireless when creating the reg key. Be careful with the time sync page; when I tried it, it selected the wrong time zone but the right time.
Hi,
I cant seem to figure out how to do this reg tweak? I have PHM Regedit and have created the "wireless tab" but that as far a i have got. Could somebody help or point me in the right direction to doing reg tweaks?
cheers
I could have sworn that someone had actually written a plug in for this thing and I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere, anyone got it?
here you go guys!!!
a good plugin watch memory consumption though!

here the direct link to version 2

you may have to login first to the forum to download.
Totally not the plug in I'm after.
Thanks though...*searches more*
Okay so since I am retarded, I've got PHM Regedit and I've created the folder, but that's as far as I've gotten. I can't seem to understand what this thing wants me to do as far as adding value's to the registry. the way it's written out doesn't make much sense to me, so please someone tell me click by click what to put where.
I'm stupid. Deal with it.
Last post I SWEAR.
For those of us who hate editting the registry I found the CAB file and uploaded it here for you.
No credit goes to me, I found this on HTC Wizard Web, so credit goes to them for the find, and then the actual author of the cab file.
Thanks for this one guys, i've been wanting this type of hack for a long while. Now i can know what's going on with my wireless and bluetooth without all the guess work.

T-Mobile 2.24 BETA Ext ROM Function List

I was a bit curious to see what everything did in the T-Mobile Extended ROM and was poking around in the different factory CABs. I seem to have most of them figured out, but the functions of a few elude me. Anyone have any idea what they do?

You might ask summiter about this one. When the latest TMo AKU 2.3 ROM came out last week, there was some discussion about a change in the protocol used for ActiveSync. Normally ROMs default to RNDIS, but this new ROM uses Serial over USB--I think this cab adds the Accessory to switch from Serial back to RNDIS. It was hypothesized that leaving off this cab would leave the device in RNDIS preventing a lot of headaches (like having to remember to run the prog to switch to RNDIS after every soft-reboot if Serial doesn't work...), but I never saw anything more about it. Good luck!

That's what I thought as well, however the control panel to switch between the USB modes is there by default in the AKU 2.3 ROM. The CAB is also oddly small and poking around didn't seem to reveal anything interesting.
Missing files from the list
Your list in the first post doesn't mention these files:
MP_Customization_TMUK_Wizard(AKU2.x)_060420.CAB
P_UXC1_TMOUK_Jan18_Wizard.CAB
PP_TMOUK-Button2_WIZ_22102109.CAB
What do they do?

That is in fact the cab file that adds the USB Switch Control Panel item to AKU 2.2 Rom (in the official Cingular Release) if you don't install it then you always have RDNIS connectivity without the otption to switch to USB Serial connectivity.
AKU 2.3 this is handled on the connections page "USB to PC" by unchecking Advanced Network Functionality.

That's because this is for the US beta ROM, not the UK ROM.
Those files are from the new T-Mobile UK Ext ROM. From poking around they do:
MP_Customization_TMUK_Wizard(AKU2.x)_060420.CAB -- Adds MMS Server info
P_UXC1_TMOUK_Jan18_Wizard.CAB -- Adds T-Mo UK Categories to Start Menu
PP_TMOUK-Button2_WIZ_22102109.CAB -- Adds a favorites link to the AppButtons folder
@Gamescan
With what program you are you checking the inside of the CAB files?
For some files I can use WinCE CAB Manager (v1), but for other CAB files it doesn't work.
Do I need Visual Studio for those files or something like that?

Active Sync with new TMOBILE UK rom.

Hi,
I've just reflashed with the new UK TMobile ROM, and since then I'm having trouble using active-sync at work, I know the problem is caused by the sygate personal firewall config, but I can't change that because of company rules.
When I had the Mr Clean 2.2.4 rom installed it had a panel in the settings screen to change the USB configuration to use a different type of connection.
This worked fine.
At some point in the past I also had some registry tweaks which changed some networking parameters and that made it work fine too, I can't remember if they were on the device or on my PC.
Anyone out there remember the settings or know where I can get a .cab of that usb configuration tool?

If your device uses Windows Mobile 5 you must open some ports in the sygate firewall settings: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/activesync/sygate.mspx.
Also it's necessary to change the RNDIS driver settings in the mobile phones registry as well!
Use a regedit tool like PHM Registry Editor.
Here are the settings to be added (or to be changed respectively):
Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RNDIS
Name of the Value to add: MTU
Type : DWORD
Data: 1514 (Value is Decimal)
Name of Value to add: MaxOutTransfer
Type: DWORD
Data: 1642 (Value is Decimal)
After a reset my Prophet (XDA Neo) synchronized well with active sygate firewall!

Schen's 10 Button 3G Comm Manager??

Can someone attach this or point me in the direction to the download?
Or anything like this would be great! (Preferably with these buttons)
I think that is also called "duttythroy 3g comm manager (working).cab"?! cos this is what I installed on my TyTN and the comm mgr looks the same.
I also think that CAB is available via this forum.
Comm Manager
I installed this and now my comm manager is comletley screwed it only shows 1 icon the active sync icon I uninstalled it and it was stil lthe same it even screwed up the HTC home ! Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this ?
Try Schap's Advanced Configuration tool. Allows you to control the buttons on your Comm Manager. Available here via search.
Same Issue When using Schaps Advanced Configuration Tool... if any button is increased it only shows one button (ACTIVE SYNC) Button
Try going into task manager & stopping the comm manager first. Make sur it's not running as a process.
Then try this: http://rapidshare.com/files/42771601/JUVS_HTC_CommManager_Kaizer_Fix.cab (Standard)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=44284&d=1184759208 (+3G Button)
After installing, but before launching it, Use the Configuration tool to make sure it shows everything, then reset & launch the comm manager.
Did you guys soft reset... that's probably the problem. If you guys did, then I advise uninstalling the Comm manager, soft reset, then installing it, then soft reset again.
BTW, that's the best comm manager I have ever used, it still lets you use the Wifi turn on and off button ony our keyboard.
I use this version of Schen's 10 button manager on my Kaiser. There is one reg setting needed to fix the wi-fi power key;
Fix WLAN Key function in Comm Manager
You can fix wifi with this registry setting :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager\WLAN
[Default]=”\Windows\WLanMgr.exe"
[DeviceName]="{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\TNETW12511"

Which one?
I've just tried this, and I get the new 3G button appearing in the comms panel (with the word 3G underneath, but no icon showing) but it doesn't seem to do anything - should it? I'm running the stock T-mobile Vario III ROM at present.
Oh, and talking of that Wi-Fi on/off function on the keyboard, does anyone know if that, and the 'open folder' key (Fn+RightArrow), can be reassigned? The Wi-Fi one might be handier to use as a Bluetooth on/off function for me, and the 'open folder' key calls File Explorer by default but I'd prefer it to call Total Commander if possible.

Comm Manager 10 - 3G issue/question
I loaded this version, fixed the WiFi registry entry and all worked. After turning off 3G, my phone still functioned. After turning ON 3G, my phone failed to connect and showed no service (due to the fact that I am out of a 3G zone). It appears that this forces 3G mode when it should force AUTO imho. A load of a Version 2.4.3 Band Switch allowed Auto to be re-enabled. See latest Band Switch posts at http://www.ipmart-forum.com/

I do see the same thing with the 3G switch, it's 3G or nothing where it should be "Auto". I too added "Bandswitch" 2.4.3, now a commercial app, and find it good as a enhanced comm manager.

Telstra NextG - My Place / Foxtel ?

Anyone managed to get Foxtel (or even Telstra My Place) working on a Kaiser / Tytn II?
I've attempted to install Default_i-mate_MyPlace.cab (with or without Telstra_V5.5.CAB) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1719900&postcount=63 but it fails to install, reporting nothing other than "Installation was unsuccessful".
I've tried this straight after a factory reset too. The ROM is the default one it shipped with - 1.82.707.0 WWE (11/03/2007)
From what I've seen posted by others, it 'should' be as simple as installing the MyPlace cab then changing a registry setting, but I'm not having any luck with even the first part!
Anyone run into similar problems, or able to assist?
prk.
telstra cab
If you install the latest Telstra ROM then use schaps utility to unlock the extended ROM and copy the contensts somewhere you can then install the TELSTRA 5.5 cab. You will probably also need another cab called Default_Imate_AUS_HR_V3.60.00.cab. I have SCHAPS 4.01 FULL with both of them installed and everything is fine. Contrary to some threads I have flashed heaps opf ROMS and I love my JASJAM, being a tech nerd of course.
Finally got Foxtel working on my Kaiser (Tytn II) with Telstra NextG.
The main problem I ran into was when downloading the files from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1719900&postcount=63 I was right clicking and selecting "save as". This doesn't work, as the link heads off to Rapid share, where you have to click free, then wait a while, etc. Silly me.
In case anyone's interested (or for the next time I reset):
1) Install the Default_i-mate_MyPlace.cab (approx 70k)
This gives the "My Place" option in the Programs list. When I ran it and tried to go to any of the options, it would connect, then timeout on finding location.
2) Ensure the Telstra Internet connection is using a proxy:
Start / Settings / Connections / Connections
Under "Telstra Internet Settings" select "Manage existing connections"
Under Proxy Settings, tick "This network uses a proxy server ..."
Advanced / HTTP
Set server to "10.1.1.181" and port to 80
Okay out.
At this stage I could now go to the various locations in Telstra My Place. Except Foxtel which gave an error about not having a compatible phone.
3) Change the User Agent by editing the registry.
The key is \HKLM\Security\Internet Explorer\User Agent\CustomBase
I changed it from: HTC_P4550 Mozilla/4.0
to: i-mate JASJAM V2 PPC; 240x320; HTC_TyTN/1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1
Now I could load the foxtel link. When I tried the free service, streaming media told me it couldn't connect.
4) Configure streaming media:
Start / Programs / Streaming Media
Menu / Options
Set "Connect Via" to "Telstra Internet Settings"
Voila - Foxtel now works.

I-Mate Cab Installation
Hi,
could anyone please tell me (or point me to a link) how to install Cabs on an I-mate 9502.
I need to access Telstra's Myplace after installing windows 6.1.
I have downloaded the appropriate cab onto my pc, and then transferred it to the storage card on the 9502, but I cannot instal it onto the 9502.
I am a beginner with the 9502, and would appreciate any help.
Many thanks
Paul
Hey it's ok. I finally worked it out!
Cheers
Pauyl
Hey Pauly,
what did you do? I just got 6.1 and am lost. I got the configurator cab (correct one?) off the imate page but little does it config. No My Page or Foxtel etc. BTW I couldn't find a My Place cab.
