I have the AT&T Tilt flashed with dutthory's rom...wondering has anyone ran into this problem? Screen won't react to stylus, but reacts to finger just fine...Only thing I've changed was I put on a screen protector(OEM out the box) today...it wasn't reacting to my finger or the stylus with it on...What could the problem be? Hi everyone,
I just replaced my LCD that I cracked with one I received from njbridges. It went in in about 10 minutes and was super easy to do, but I have a problem. If I go into the screen settings menu and click on "align screen", I can't actually do it. It shows the program and the cross hairs in the center of the screen, but when I touch it with the pointer, nothing registers. Now, the screen works perfectly, and appears that the touch alignment is exactly the same, but the issue I have is that I can now never hard reset to flash roms, etc, because if I do I will have to align the screen, which will not work.
Anyone else have this problem? I'm using a tilt, by the way.

are you using the stock att tilt rom or a different. if different which one are you using. if your using dutty's rom with the cube the screen alignment is dissabled after the ROM and the initial alignment was made. also, if your using the tilt rom but downloaded the cube program separate that is another reason why as well. the alignment screen doesn't work with cube so they disable it when you install it. so, if you flash to a different rom the screen alignment will work fine. hope this helps, cheers....

I'm running the stock ATT Rom, but I do have the cube running. So, if I uninstall the cube, the screen alignment will work again?

you can use the cube but when you want to align your screen you have to use these steps...

the IE + Center button brings up the Align Screen window. does anyone know how to stop this?
Damnit....I didn't know thats what that did, and I just did it to see if it actually worked....and now I'm stuck on the align screen.

lol, now you need to align your screen perfectly for it to disappear. but it's really annoying in games.

You have to do a soft reset. To align, you must disable touchflo.
I have an AT&T Tilt...until Friday it worked great...It has WM6.1, HTC Home and spb Mobile Shell.... Friday I changed the screen protector from the same pack that I have used for months and then the problems started.... Randomly when I try to touch the screen it appears to lock up, but then the start menu will drop down. The soft buttons work, but then every once in a while the start menu will drop down again. I have soft reset to no avail, but then in an hour or so it will start working fine again. Anyone have any ideas, does it sound like a hardware or software problem? should I hard reset the phone and start over? Help

pull off your screen protector.
chances are you have it touching on a side which causes pressure somewhere else and it (touchscreen) thinks its being touched in a different place.
which in turn makes you believe its locked up, since it does not have multi-touch touchscreen it will not respond because it is perceiving a touch somewhere else.

Need HELP ASAP! It is very hard for me to type and use the touch screen.
When I type and key in the letter ever so lightly, I end up with the wrong letter or the letter is entered 3 times. It is like it rapidly presses the letter.
Have you tried wiping / reflashing (if rooted) or factory reset (if not)?
That's always the first thing to try.

I tried different roms, it improved a little, nut now it hangs a lot.
You lucky yours is even sensitive. Mine barely recognizes my touch inputs .

I have to just let HTC replace my screen.
Yeah, I think the common problem is a not sensitive touch screen. Is there a way to tweak the screen to be more sensitive?
Phone has been fine until I did a system update. Now it consistently freezes but the capacitive buttons and everything work except for actually registering screen taps.
Phone was frozen, then pulled out the pen and it seems as when it freezes it can't pick up finger responses but will still register the spen.

I tried what they suggested and cleared cache but it's still happening.

I've got the same issue. The pen works but the finger doesn't. If I turn the screen off for a few minutes then it'll start working normally. I'm going to try out the fix you posted. Fingers crossed.
