...for me working corectly great work. thx
Sweet! Finally, i can get rid of that crappy MS stack in my ROM.
Thanks ather & Helmi
EDIT: Stack works perfectly! File transfer is back to what it should be and everything's sweet!
2 questions tho.
1: Does this stack have A2DP? I've put off buying BT headphones cos the MS stack didn't support it, if this one does i'll probs go pick up a pair.
2: Know of any good bluetooth IM clients? A few mates of mine have XDAs and it'd be pretty sweet to chat to each other over bluetooth instead of using GPRS (we all work in the same vicinity (diff rooms) and at times, it'd be handy to send a quick bluetooth IM). I'm thinking if we were all on the same bluetooth personal / public network, the client'd be able to communicate with another client. In which case, it wouldn't need to be a specific bluetooth client (as the stack should, theoretically, transmit inet data over the bluetooth network), just a network client.

MS BT stack under WM 5.0 and 6.0 supports A2DP without any modification.
Works great on my Himalayas.

I was reading something last night about a user who'd hacked MS portrait to run as a PTT (push-to-talk) app over a bluetooth network, looked interesting. Blog article | MS portrait hacking link
Another app (currently in beta) is one from hipvoice.com. Apparently it's designed entirely for PTT over any network (bluetooth, wifi, gprs-etc)
TBH either text or voice IM would be good. It'd certainly be a helluva lot cheaper than SMSing friends in different rooms at work/college.
Lastly, anyone know why BT shuts off the second the device goes into standby? I used to have a widcomm stack on WM5 (a long LONG time ago) that didn't have this problem. I used to be able to start BT transfers and leave the device in my pocket (they'd still transfer even if the device standbyed). Now, the second the device turns off, all file transfers are instantly cut.
Here's an old forum post i dug up showing that widcomm used to work in the background on WM5. Any reason why it won't do the same on WM6?

Same difference. Widcomm got taken over by broadcomm, so it's basically the same stack.
Yeah i'm using the stack on page 1 of this thread, works like a charm (apart from turning off during device standby).
Problems..
Hi there!
Tried and works great on my hima WM6..
Except 1 thing: i can not connect to my gps... I tried 1000 ways and no solution... It seams the com port part of the stack is wrong...
BTW i wanna uninstall... i tried and it doesnt worked... after uninstall the original bluetooth progs says there is a problem with ure hardware...
How to get back the "old" crappy MS bluetooth??
Thx..
I get this error:
The Bluetooth Radio failed to turn ON due to insufficient driver memory available.
You must perform a normal reset before you can turn ON the Bluetooth Radio.
First i install the stack, then the install do a soft reset and then i install the patch.
I've just switched for the PAN. everything is working fine, except for the SerialPort. I Think this stack need's some tweaking/hacking.
When I tested with my BT GPS, the GPS LED stopt blinking = it means the GPS is connected.
But for some reason the software/application can't find the BT GPS.
BTW does anyone know if it's possible to keep booth stack's on the device? I Love PAN, but still need SerialPort.
Thanks.
I am too stupid to use your software. With your WM6 ROM active sync not working and with other ROMs i get this error using this BT stack:

Check out this link from PocketPCThoughts.com for a new Bluetooth patch from Broadcom for the PDA2K...
Fellow MVP Helio Diamant, of Pocket PC Freak, has gotten a fantastic little nugget for iMate PDA2k owners:
Quote:
A friend of mine has just come back from CES and brought with him a little CAB file that was being given by the guys from Broadcom there. They told him we can publish and offer for download, so I am putting it here to you guys too.
When installed, this CAB adds the following profiles to the Broadcom BT stack in the PDA2K:
1. High-Quality Audio
2. Keyboard
This means that those of you holding stereo headsets can now connect them to PDA2k and here music, navigation instructions, etc from the device. As well, Bluetooth Keyboards are supposed to work well.
Early reports suggest it works with a number of devices, including both HTC Blue Angel and HTC Harrier units; it might work with other Broadcom-based (i.e., Widcomm) Bluetooth units, but there's no guarantee. If you're interested in playing "with it, you can download the CAB here. Note: This update is unofficial and unsupported; install it at your own risk, and do a backup first! As far as I know, it's a RAM update, but I haven't tried it. Good luck if you do. "

Noviur,
On which device did you try ? i-Mate PDA2k?
cheers,

install seems not to work
Just tried the cab install (both from my SD card and Program Files location - after resets), but nothing seems to have changed on my i-Mate PDA2k with Rom 1.22.162 WWE.
1. No BT Services were added (still only File Transfer, InformationExchange, Serial Port, Personal Network Server, Dial-up BNetworking Server, Hands-Free),
2. No update seems to have happened, all module versions remained at 1.0.0.3500 (except obviously the BTPluginManagerCE.exe [1.0.0.1]),
3. Despite the dialog box telling it is "writing information for Remove Programs" it can not be found back in the Remove Programs.
Any clues?
cheers,
bins
P.S. Just in case, and like Noviur, reverted with Sprite Backup
The version information in the package suggests 1.6.0.0600
did you install the 1.6.0.0600 upgrade before u installed this?
i installed it.. the new 2 profiles show up but the audio one doesnt work ..
i have pda2k
any help???
I installed the new patch on an SX-66. It doesn't upgrade the Bluetooth stack or provide new services. But it does add 2 new profiles. One for a Stereo audio headset (this won't work with a Hands free device since the profile doesn't include support for a MIC.) and one for a keyboard.
I also switched my Bluetooth stack to the 1.6 version posted here. This seems to be a stack based on Widcom as opposed to Microsoft. Although my device worked and seemed to pair faster my Handsfree device didn't come on when dialing the phone. So I switched back.
Remco, thx, installed the Broadcom 1.6.0.600 cab-file first and afterwards installed the PDA2k cab-file.
Update seems to have worked and indeed have the two new client profiles.
Will check in the store tomorrow if the HQ audio works indeed and if no other nuisances arise.
Will keep you in the loop.
cheers,
bins
Installed it on my Qtek9090 with rom 1.22.00/1.06.00/1337.38/1.22.556
I was able to bond my Logitech DiNovo keyboard to the PDA and use it !
It works very well, very cool to be able to type on a full size keyboard on your PDA.
I don't own a BT audio headset, so i wasn't able to test that.
All other devices like my GPS mouse, Bluetrek G2 headset etc. seem to work ok as they did before.
nop, it was I-Mate PPC. I new it is for PDA2K, but wanted to try it
Previously I installed Widcom BT 1.6.
No luck for me ... for now at least
Did it answer calls through the b/t headset? Mine wouldn't connect to the headset for outgoing or incoming calls. Also if it does work, which PDA2K cab did you use?
Thanks

Hi,
I just got my HP bluetooth headphones... and I absolutely love them!!!. The range is ok... not great, but enough to be considered fully usable. It crackles if there is some physical resistance between the MDAIII and the headphones, but other than that, they are awesome...
Anyone that is considering to get them, I highly recommend it. But be sure to have a 3500 bluetooth stack (with the extensions posted here of course) and Radio 1.06.02 (I am not sure whether 00 would do equally, but I recommend 02).

Me too. Can someone email me a copy of this file?

Hi all
I have got Blue Angel:
ROM: 1.42.00 WWE
Radio: 1.13.00
BT: 3900
Last week I upgraded to the T-Movbile 1.42 Rom. I then installed the A2DP profile patch and was amazed that my Omiz OMS600 headphones were actually working using the high quality audio profile, and they were working very well.
The other day I did a hard reset to sort out a few things and left it at that. Later on when I came to reinstall my A2DP it wasn't working, nor was using the headphones as just a normal headset. I tried all sorts, including downgrading my ROM because at that point I was wondering whether or not it was actually on a previous version that I had it working.
Anyway... eventually I decided it was the headphones that had an error so emailed Omiz who were very helpful and sent me the download for their firmware flashing utility. This upgraded the ROM of my headphones from 1.06 to 1.25. I can now pair my headphones as a headset but not as High Quality Audio. I can get it to add a High Quality Audio shortcut in BT manager but when it trys to connect it says: "connection failed". Before it was also saying "service unavailable on device" or somthing similar.
Any assistance would be good.
Thanks a lot.

A2DP & WM5
Hi there,
I got the patch from: ftp://xda: Upgrades/BT profiles for build 3500/
But I'm not sure if it will work on WM5, I think I have read that it will not, this is my main reason for not moving to WM5 yet... although at the moment while i can't get A2DP working I am not much better off.
How are you finding WM5? Is it reliable enough to compete with WM2003 yet, or is there still a bit of work needed?
It doesn't work under WM5. WM5 has a Microsoft bluetooth stack, this patch does not apply.
WM5 on the BA is quite stable if you have the time to work with it. I am not going back. If somebody comes up with a BT fix for the stand-by problem that does not drain the battery, all of my issues will be fixed.
A2DP on WM5
Thanks for that... I might consider upgrading one evening when I have nothing better to do!
Do you rekon we'll ever see A2DP on the MS bluetooth stack?

I agree. By the moment, I'm very pleased with the performance of WM5 on my BA. It actually runs faster than w2003! And I'm beeing very objective, believe me!
I'm having a big annoyance with writting (sms, word, etc) as the spelling isn't allways what I wrote. On the SMS window, it seems the screen gets redrawn all the time and it loose some words...
The other big is not having A2DP. I think is very frustrating having such a nice machine without a good software that makes all its goodness work! :?
Some delayings on the screen repainting and (I'm using Pocket Informant) slow performance on the everyday tasks as opening the contacts list, or changing toanother program, for example...

Answer is no, not possible yet.
And to the poster above - yes, just need the bluetooth connect issue solved where it drops connection when it goes into stand-by mode. The fix that drains the battery by keeping the unit out of standby mode really isn't a fix for me.
Not that I am complaining - I'm happy to be an early adopter along for the ride..

How do I enable A2DP on my BA??
Hello!!
I have searched the forum many many times and visited wiki, but I could only find 2 threads which is close to what I need to know. This is 1 of them.
I have got Blue Angel:
ROM: 1.40.00 WWE
Radio: 1.12.00
BT: 3900
This configuration came from the recently rom upgrade from o2.
It seems to me that it's possible to enable A2DP on a BA running on WM2003 SE, which allows me to stream music to a bt headphones??
However I just could not find a thread which has an instruction on how to do it. Not even on wiki. After reading some threads, I came to my own conclusion that I need to upgrade me BT to build 3900 and install a patch??
So this was what I did,
Since my BT is already 3900 "offical" version, thus I didn't do anything to it.
I d/l this file BA_OEM_AudioGW (1.33g.00).CAB (83KB) and ran it on my PPC. I then got the audiogw.dll in my windows folder.
That was all I did. It didn't work of course. I have another file, BroadcomCorp_BT1.0.0.3900.cab but didn't use it as I'm already on 3900??
So I was just hoping that someone who has done it and was successful, could point me in the right direction!!! Thanks a lot!!!
anyone tried running both cab loacted at
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/BlueAn...age BT 1.0.0.3900 and audiogw.dll - 1.33g.00/
if it works, do let me know. I currently do not have a bluetooth headphones to test with.
I have Omiz headset (with MP3 and radio FM) and due to work with my Magician I had to manually change some registry entries. Point was that my PDA was not correctly identified as a A2DP device (only HF). I paired my PDA with normal BT dongle with A2DP profile, found registry entries with dongle mac adress and copied manually keys coressponding with a2dp service to folder with my headphones profiles. After all that it was possible to chose headphopnes in BT menager as stereo audio receiver.
Maybe its similar and u should look in registry...
jarekt, can you post those registryvalues please?!
Can't get streaming audio to BT headphones
I still have had no luck with the BA_OEM_AudioGW (1.33g 00) Cab or any registry settings under WM5.
BT a2dp WM5
have you tried the file (.cab) i uploaded in BlueAngel under uploads, it let me pair BT Stereo under wm5. Nevermind I looked someone deleted it dont know why. PM me and i can send if you want, I tried to reupload but Uploads appears broken.
I am on thesame situation of errorist.
My machine is on Broadcom 3900, and I want to make A2DP work.
If anyone can shed a light on how to make it work, I'd be very very grateful.
BTW, I have a Motorola HT820.
UPDATE:
I have installed the 3900 stack + audiogw dll even though I had a factory-installed 3900 stack, and I managed to connect in handsfree mode.
I still have not found out how to connect in A2DP mode though...
Any help is appreciated.
Hi All
I dont know how useful this is going to be, but i spent ages doing research to get my ht820 and my 02 xda 2s working properly, and when i did, i wrote a semi bad guide here
http://www.corecodec.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=29&expv=0&topic=2840.0
if its any use i'd be tempted to maybe write it up proper and put in in the wiki, either way, try some of the steps or files ive listed (most of them are from here)
but it gets it working with TCPMP aswell, which is a lot better than WM10 anyhow
good luck
BTW: ivans rom uses the broadcom stack, so the patch may work, however i dont have the headphones to test it with
i've onstalled this two cabs too, but new profile didn't appeared. Bay Be some registry values didn't appied? who did this patch?
Attached is a little program that will prevent the Toshiba BT stack (in laptops) from only connecting to headphones that support SCMS-T. I.e. all A2DP sink devices should now work.

SCMS-T - Am I missing something?
Downloaded and ran the patch yet nothing. How fo I know it's worked?
Same problem - no change to BT headphone prob
Just an FYI, I'm also running into the same problem. Tried running SwitchTosSCMSCheck on top of Toshiba's bluetooth stack versions 3.20 and 4 without effect. (Rather than getting the SCMS error message, I get a more generic error message when trying to pair.) I noticed that the registry entries cited in the original thread weren't found during a search of my registry with either version installed ... wondering if Toshiba has tweaked to defeat this fix in the newer version.
Did some surfing on a related thread regarding BT on a Sony TR1 (which uses the same Toshiba stack but has the option to ignore SCMS). This isn't a hack because the software comes with that option enabled. (In fact, the SONY folks were hacking it to make it work with non-Toshiba products.) However, it installs very simply on my Toshiba M200
Link: http://www.drinnan.com/sw/A5_Bluetooth.zip
... replaces the BT 'antenna' with a more traditional BT symbol, but opens up into the Toshiba BT interface. Once installed, go into Options and make sure the SCMS checkbox is deselected.
This is a good fix but a short-term one. The software is evaluation only, and expires after 30 days. (There didn't seem to be an easy workaround for this.)

You need to run it while you're making a new connection, just before you would usually get the error message you run the exe and click next in the usual new connection wizard.
Thanks, Thats much better now
Thanks for this fix. I bought a Moto HT820 headset to use with my PDA/phone, which initially did not support it as the carrier chose to remove A2DP from it, but I added it back and it is great. Also I wanted to use it with my Toshiba bluetooth stack that I had to install in my Sony laptop because Sony did not support bluetooth headset of any kind and Toshiba hit the copywrite barrier, but this utility fixed that nicely, thanks. My other laptop does not support the HT820 at all either, just blows it the same lo-fi like it is a HS820, so off to mess with the stack for it. My point being that it is nice that there are people out there that can make up the slack when the big companies dangle these nice options in front of us and then snatch them back and say we can not have them. Thanks again for the save.

BA WM5 Broadcom 1.7.1 Build 3400 Stack (Test)
This is just some test of mine to hv option with BT stack (MS/Broadcom), I only spend the last 3 hour workin on this little project, so it really possible if anything is missing or I forgotin something (its happens to me right?..lol), but I've test it and it work like it should (With My v1.3 ROM), I dont know if this test hv a bug. maybe we can test it, especially A2DP and stabilty issues with this test.
Tested operation:
1. Activesync
2. Send/Recieve File
3. Headset via computer
4. Network Access
5. BT Serial Port
6. Dial-up Networking
Known Issue:
U tell me, not tested so much.
Instalation:
1. Install the HELMI_BA_WM5_BT1.7_TEST.CAB then soft reset
Uninstall (note the step its really neccesary, or u'll endup mess with ur phone):
1. Install Enable_MS_BT_.CAB
2. Delete registry value (or the folder)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WIDCOMM]
and delete "Redirect" key on:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Bluetooth]
"Redirect"="BTConnManagerCE.exe"
3. Reset
4. Uninstall HELMI_BA_WM5_BT1.7_TEST.
5. Delete file from \Temp dir
EDIT:
I forgot to mention, after u run ENABLE_MS_BT.CAB the Broadcomm/Widcomm file will be move to \Temp folder so u can delete it safely...
Dont expect to be perfect on this release, cos its only on earlier stage, to early, hopes someone might help for improvement, and workin together with me, and I hopes some1 can make a better Install/Uninstall process.
Dont install/try if u dont know what ur doin, and backup your data is a must.
Input is always welcome. cos I believe there's still much things to do.
Thanks for http://www.aximsite.com site and everybody there for the BT file.

Just intalled. The stereo works fine! Great quality for me! The hands free seems to be a bit tempremental. Worked once and then stopped afet receiving one call.. WIll try it out again..It looks like am stuck with an either. One observation: with the ms stack, there was a headphoen icon while using the phone. is absent here...wonder if that was a ms stack function?
deepak
helmi_c,
hmm weird, after i installed the new wildcom stack, my pda cant see my headset anymore.
still testing though.
wish me luck.
imatrix
I believe u guys both hv problem with MS Stack, hopes this stack will help for who having problem with MS Stack, but remember this is just some sort test, maybe still need a lot of improvement. but its seems work good with deepakr who hv problem with MS, imatrix hopes u'll hv the same result like he does. good luck.
btw In the rar there's a BTspeed cab, it might help for some headset, post on the Axim forum sites... there's also another app for controlin power if i'm not mistaken, I'll post when i get back.
A little note, this stack sometimes wakeup if gsm signal is lost/found, if the signal of gsm is good, it shouldnt happen (theoriticaly speaking..lol..).

Firstly great to see BT restarting automatically after handset is switched on from standby mode. After some fooling around I was able to set up activesync and it worked like a charm (useful for me especially since USB activesync does not work)
Couple of problems I faced
1. Turning off and restarting BT gave me a unable to load driver due to insufficient memory error. When I stopped my activesync, outlook and contacts and tried again it started successfully.
2. I was unable to find the DUN service and my PC did not recognize a DUN service either - am I looking/not looking at the right place?
Thanks and highly appreciate your prolific contribution

Hi Hemli
I have just installed this a minute ago,
Ill report back in a few hours with my experiances with this.
Hopefully it will be better than M$ BT stack with stereo headsets.
I've upload a patch that contain a newer BTCeIf.dll (1.7 the original was 1.6) and HTC_PCM_Routing.dll taken from htc device. well... in my device I dont hv problem with memory issues, even without this patch.. I dont know for sure, cos i dont test it much...currently test workin Simultaniously is BTSYnc, SerialPort 1 in 1 out, and Audio Gateway. and its still work fine.
btw please post comment here, and also what rom u currently use. Otw now, just come to trow the patch..

No, it does not work on WM2003SE, I installed it and I had to hard re-set my Imate, it works only under Wondows 2005!!
Any way I gave it a try and I had to hard reset my PDA any way!!
Helmi, I just wanted to confirm, that Dial-Up with 2nd phone works fine. Tested also BT stereo headphones from HP (A2DP with additional profile for controlling playing - skipping to the next track and pause) - So far works as only BT implementation in BA allows: on close distance and not doing much in backgroud works fine.
Another happy user of your Firmware and other tools for BA!
Later on I will test GPS on BT, but do not expect any problems.
One small detail is left from old BT stack: while creating a connection you can still choose connection using "Bluetooth" that refers to M$ stack (selecting it reports hardware error - not rreally suprising

Aha! The patch helped! I now have a fully functional headset, stereo on the headphones and a great speedy and stable ROM. Makes me one happy camper. Looks like now I can go ahead and finally configure this with all my apps. Thanks helmi
NO HANDSFREE PROFILE
Hi
nice integration and thanks but i went back to ms as my sony ericson hcb-700 wll not pair for some reason after looks like the handsfree profile is not working
The Audio stream is great with this BT solution !
But when I connect to my parrot ck3300 carkit, It opens the connection like there is a tel.call active. when i press the hangup button on my carkit the BT connection is gone.
So it seems it is connected as headset and not as handsfree phone,
One other thing, when I connect to my BT Sony Ericsson HbH ds970 stereo headset I cannot shut off the screen in tcpmp player ???
(I think this also happened with th MS stack)
any solution for this ?
Last test (with my clean AKU3.2 v1.3) with BroadcommPatch1 applied and no overclock:
Turn on/off 4 times and reconnect below service (get bored to turn on/off and play with it again):
currently active BT service at the same time is:
1. Activesync / Bluetooth serial Out (syncing)
2. Network Acces/ Bluetooth Networking
3. Audio Gateway / Calling my mobile operator and stream audio to my pc as headset
4. Send/Recieve file from pc and from pda
5. Bluetooth serial In
and currently active application (leave as background procces I dont close it):
1. Activesync (Syncing)
2. Calendar
3. Contact (580 contact display)
4. Excel Mobile opening 185kb file
5. Album
6. Word Mobile opening 220kb file (little bit slow on opening)
7. Powerpoint Mobile opening 350kb file till end slide
8. Notes
9. Task
10. Bluetooth Manager
11. File Explorer
12. Calculator.
lastly...activate Wifi...wifi detecting & connect to neighbor network... turn off wifi...activated again...detecting & connect to neighbor network again...
but I dont test the GPS (serial port) or A2DP stuff since i dont hv it.
turn off bt...turn on again...reconnect the above BT service...do this 4 times.. still no memory issues. well maybe I'm just bein lucky... but the battery is drain more faster with this test, maybe because this is somekind of stress testing.
so far this Broadcomm stack still running well...the sound from Audiogateway while this test active is still ok, but if the gsm signal is bad, the sound is bad also, so its not bt problem its a gsm problem. btw the ShutXP Icon on the tray is GONE..thats weird.., that the only issue I hv..
btw does anyone know where to find a PC Widcomm/Broadcomm driver that support A2DP, I dont remember where to find it. My PC Widcomm driver version is v1.4.2 Build 12, quite old, I want to test the a2dp profile.
btw if u play with:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WIDCOMM\Plugin\HandsFree]
"SupportedFeatures"=dword:37 (default doesnt exist)
"ServiceMask"=dword:1
"AudioSetupDll"="\windows\HTC_PCM_Routing.dll" (default MkSpk_PCM_Routing.dll need to play with this and see what more widely support device)
"AudioPreferences"=dword:2
"AudioHandling"=dword:13 (default 8 )
there's a Icon if headset is activated. but its seems unstable in my device, try it.

yep still have the static noise, will try your method later.
been bz this few days, i did not test much. I will play around with it tomorrow.
thanks.

Thanks Helmi, great job!
A2DP works nicely, but now i get the same opposite as compared to microsoft stack. my A2DP is perfect whereas any calls that come in ring through the hedset, but i can't pick the calls up / talk through the bluetooth headset. weird uh?
Anyone hit the same problem?
I have no problems with static, just some slowdowns due to processor usage and i can't toggle the screen in WM or using display switch.
Great Job though!
edit:
maybe its because i'm connected as both headset and high quality audio? going to try connect as hands free and HQA.
edit 2:
can't for the life of me find out how to pair it in handsfree mode! Any pointers?
hey guys, I'm running the ultimate-X2 rom pack from here and I can't seem to get the configuration of my blue tooth working with my EEE. I've tried BT DUN and it keeps reporting back that the modem is out of order, any ideas?
Do you have active sync on the computer? I don't remember if it needs it or not for BT.
yea AS is on there and everything works as it shoudl through a usb cable, just can't get DUN to work or PAN
Are you using WM5 or WM6.1? I know that with 6.1 you need to use the Internet Sharing app.
Also, which Bluetooth stack are you using? I got it to work on a Toshiba BT stack, but once I figured out how to AS over BT, it stopped the net sharing from working. I think you can only have one pair at a time. I'm not sure though. I'd also like to know how to get both working without interfering with one another.
WM 6.5 and i'm using the built in bluetooth adapter on my EEE, no idea what stack its using
I got it, didn't have my pair set up right and PAN was the proper way to do it and use IS on WM. the modem trick was a no-go and worthless IMO
Good. Glad to hear you got it working. I got my internet sharing to work once, but once I set it up to ActiveSync over Bluetooth it stopped working. I guess when it's paired once it won't let it be paired again. Anyone have any support for this? I'm using a Toshiba Bluetooth stack (sadly... thinking of switching to MS stack) and a Tilt ROM.
