Noob followed rom/flash instructions but...... - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Hi all, noob here. Followed all the reflash instructions as listed above and it all went fine until after installing wizard_love. It installed fine, blue WL loading screen, did the stylus calibrate stuff and the home screen looks fine. If I press start, it takes nearly ten seconds for the drop menu to drop, it will not connect to active sync, I have an exclamation point next to my signal symbol and an X next to my connectivity symbol on the top bar. I cant send nor recieve calls, acces the web etc. A, can this be sorted as I cant now install the t-mobile 2.25 rom, or B, can I go back to when just the button rom was on it, as it was very quick with that on it on its own? Any help appreciated guys.

And more, after realising the backlight wasnt going off, I turned it off and back on. NOW it wont get past the IPL,SPL numbers screen, seems to powerup then a second of black screen, then restart ad infinitum. Im pretty sure its completely broken now and very much doubt its repairable. I'll be amazed if this can be fixed, bearing in mind it wont come on, nor sync to a PC.

Turn your phone off and then hold the camera button while turning it back on. This will bring you to bootloader mode(a 3 colored screen displaying IPL and SPL).
Once you are there, reflash the T-Mobile Official Rom found HERE
This should bring your Wizard back to life again.
Before trying to upgrade again, make sure you read and reread everything about G3 devices so that you know exactly what you are getting yourself into so you don't end up with a very expensive paperweight.

I did that last night before checking the reply, and it works fine now but cheers for the help. I did follow instructions to the letter in the end but just lost confidence half way through, which was unneccesary as it worked fine. Got a right jumble of stuff on it now, WM6, touch-flo, icontacts etc. Is just how I wanted it. Now for emu's!!

Issue Closed: Need help after upgrding Cing 8125 to AKU2.3

I have one of the early Cingular 8125s with version 1.08 IPL/SPL and was trying to upgrade using summiter's latest 2.3 using his multi installer +CF2.
Pre-upgrade phone info
SPL: 1.08
IPL: 1.08
ROM 1.8.xxx (Can't remember the rest)
CID unlocked using lokiwiz (Done again just before upgrading)
SIM unlocked using lokiwiz (Done only when I first got the phone)
I originally selected the first option in the installer, which would have also upgraded my bootloader. This ended up just getting me into the RGB bootloader screen and failing, after which I would just remove the battery and reset.
I selected option 2 to update without changing the BL, and the installation seemed to run fine...until I tried to turn it on again after the flash.
Booting past the first cingular splash screen took longer than normal. Although it showed the 2.24 OS, I did not see any line stated the GSM version, only IPL, SPL and OS. Is that bad?
When I got into windows it was super slow and navigating was a chore. I rebooted, and the phone didn't turn back on! Read the forums a bit, I guess it can suck up more juice than expected during flashing, so I charged for a few hours....now I can boot up, but with the below issues.
1. I don't have a phone connection. Even in the new comm manager, I click on the phone setting, but it doesn't connect. The antenna up at the top has an exclamation point instead of the bars next to it. I can't get to the keypad screen, and I can't make any phone calls. Did the GSM upgrade possibly not complete? Is is supposed to show up in the splash screen?
2. I can't sync anymore. Nothing happens when I plug the phone in. I am not even sure it draws a charge, since I had it charging over usb for a few hours after upgrading and it didn't seem to charge much. AC power for a few hours did the trick and let me boot up.
3. Since I can't call anyone, its basically a PDA for now. But even the PDA function and general operation of the phone are really really slow. It takes time to drop down the start menu, or change screens. (~30 seconds to push "start") I am able to input personal info and it saves OK even after soft reboot. I have since cleared all info.
4. The battery indicator constantly shows the charging icon, even when unplugged. Battery status shows "Unknown." Phone doesn't know how to turn off after idle time, even though option is checked in settings.
I'm hoping someone here has some advice. Since I can't connect through activesync, it will be hard to make any upgrades. I had read about an miniSD card executable...hopefully that applies here.
Should I try booting into the Bootloader and connecting a USB cable? Holding the camera button and powering on doesn't seem to help.
Anyway, any input would be greatly appreciated guys. If there's any info I need to clarify, let me know.
New progress made
I am able to boot into the boot loader and when I connect by USB, it shows as connected in XP. Can I perform upgrades/downgrades from here?
Any suggestions as to the right path to take to end up with the latest ROM? Maybe I should stick with the Cingular release?
Good news everyone! (lame futurama reference)
I managed to install the cingular formal release once I booted into the bootloader.
In case anyone has this same problem, you hold the camera button down and press the power button. Let go of the power button and the RGB bootloader screen should show up. When connected to USB, you can install these packages.
When I'm gutsy enough again, I'll try summiters latest.

White screen and no bootloader

I successfully loaded WM6 on my Cingular 8125, but it had some weird issues (today screen didn't fully draw, ringtone screen wouldn't close, etc.) so I decided to go back to the stock ROM. But I thought I'd try a hard reset first and that's where I ran into problems. The screen stays white, but there's a constantly changing series of vertical colored lines that move all over the screen. I can't do a hard reset and can't get into the bootloader. All I get is the shifting white screen and ActiveSync won't see the device, but I get occasional USB bleeps/bloops when i plug the device in.
Any tips on recovering and going back to the original ROM? I've learned my lesson and won't fool with WM6 on my locked G4
Try turning your phone off, and then press and hold the camera button and then press the on button while still holding the camera button and that should put you in to bootloader mode. From there, download and flash the stock ROM from your service provider and see if that works. From your description of what it's doing though, it might actually be a hardware issue that just happened coincidentally at the same time you tried to flash a new ROM. Hopefully it's just software related though for your sake.

AT&T Tilt locked in tri-colored screen! Help!

Yesterday I took my battery out of my phone to remove the dust from inside the phone. When i replaced the battery back into the phone, it booted up into the tri-color screen and has been there ever since. I haven't modified the phone since receiving it from AT&T at all. When i actually noticed the problem I tried to reset the phone through the hole on the bottom of the phone. At first, it booted up normally but was out of batteries since it had been running on a bright screen for a couple of hours. Thus it turned off immediately. I have tried to reset it again but it seems to do nothing. Since then when I put the battery back in and I turn the phone on it returns to the tri-colored screen and it says SERIAL in the bottom white area. When plugged into my computer it says USB in the white area. On the top of the tri colored screen, in the red area, it says:
KAIS1*0
SPL-1.56.0000
CPLD-8
I thought about downloading the newest ROM update from HTC but my phone wont sync with my computer, and the tutorial says it needs to in order to install properly. If anyone could help, please let me know!
Update!
I put the battery back into the phone and it booted up just fine....it was a little slow and worked normally for a couple of minutes. Soon it started to act up. When i plugged the phone into my computer it automatically started to freeze, when i unplugged it from the computer it would work just fine! I then turned my phone off again and now it is back to the tri-color screen again!
try hard-resetting the phone.
To do this, hold down the two soft keys at the front while pushing the stylus into the reset hole. Just make sure to back up any data you want, as it will delete it all (files, contacts, etc.)
Tried a Hard Reset
When I finished it, it just went back to that tri-colored screen. Now the phone will turn on every 10th time i try and work for a couple of minutes. When the screen turns off it wont turn back on when i push the power button. The green light still blinks though.
I have been having this exact same problem for a little while now, any help would be more than appreciated.
EDIT: Everything about the phone was AT&T stock ROM from Oct. '07.
i think it replacement time
hi all once again.i was using my kaiser yesterday then my phone went into tri screen.tried hard reset soft reset.phone reboots in tri screen.im using Duttys Official WM6.1 Rom 5.2.19716 UC.
ihave kais130 mfg /spl 1-0.0lipof /cpld-8 on screen.
if there is a solution to this i would appreciate help in resolving.thanks in advance
Another sad update!
Well as of this second my phone works okay...slower than usual....but in an hour or so the screen will turn off and the phone will stop working, i will take the battery out.....wait about 45 minutes and hope that it boots up normally. No one has any idea why this is happening to multiple people? I have had this phone for maybe 3-4 months. Is the failure rate that broad and fast on these phones???
WTF
This phone is ridiculous. Now if I keep the phone plugged into my computer so the screen wont time off, the phone works just as normal. The moment I unplug the phone from charging it decides to die on me after an hour or so!
this happened to me last nite.
spent hours and hours trying to fix.
ended up reflashing orig att rom..
everything is fine..
proceeded on to a cooked rom and all is well..
added some apps ..
so far -- awesome
Good News!
Magically my phone started syncing with my computer randomly. Thus it allowed me to flash the rom with the original ATT rom and so far my phone is back to normal working great!
tri screen sorted
i bought my kaiser off ebay..i couldnt sort tri screen.i had various roms on at various times .i had no warranty. on pay as you go.decided to take to local o2 shop.got it back today fully working for free.took them 8 days.
Hey, did you have any luck fixing this problem - I've been looking mad for a solution to my tri-screen problem, but no joy...
KAISI*0
SPL-1.93.0000
CPLD-8
appears on my screen.... I don't now how to fix this puppy and it's only a couple of months old...
I started plugging the charger in and soft reset and it would work until i could find a new OS for it, Rom or RUU I think, I am not sure if it works, but now I can't get it off Tri-Screen to run it..
Any help anyone please?

I Unbricked my 8125

Ok, I know not everyone will have a similar situation and maybe my post is quite late since many might have moved on to other nicer phones ;-)
I was uploading ROM using ShellTool that takes awfully long and my PC (an XP) decided to download updates and reboot all by itself. Needless to say, I was stuck at the boot screen with the IPL, SPL, GSM and the OS screen. The OS was showing 6.0.0.1 and that's it. pressing the Voice Dial and COMM button and resetting didn't help. So out of frustration, I pressed the Camera and Voice Dial buttons and did a reset and Presto, got the Red, Green, Blue with USB screen. I was able to load ATT's WM5 on it. Am sure many will like to know this minor pleasant mishap.
Hard Reset is mentioned here http://www.pocketpccentral.net/help/cingular/8125reset.htm
I would call my trick as the Hard Wiping

It's not a trick, it is called the RGB bootscreen.
not same as RGB, the actual boot.
well, all I got stuck was at the boot screen, not the RGB screen, the screen that just shows the IPL, SPL, GSM and OS numbers with the Cingular screen. I did not find anywhere that showed me to get out of the screen till I accidentally came across it. Actually, the record button is not necessary, just the camera button is fine while pressing the reset and holding it till the RGB screen is back.
Where did you get AT&T's WM5 rom, I am having the same problem. I have the IPL/SPL but can't find the rom, the link in the thread here no longer works.
Thanks.

Blackstone bricks!! Please help!!!!

Hello guy,
After flashing new rom (official release) on my Blackstone, works fine for a month, after start the home screen being black like the phone is off but he was not. I try first hard reset from the button located next to the sim card, splash screen appears after went black again. I did not realized is a problem with the screen and I perform a hard reset (volume up+down & power up) . The phone perform the hard reset because I heard the power up sound, plus for about one minute I have the screen on, asking me to make the screen line up. During the screen line up the screen went black again and no way to see it showing something again. The problem is in active sync the phone is not recognized anymore, I can't flash it again (I try run RUU but give a error message to connect the phone) plus I'm going blind without seeing anything on the screen. My question is there is any way to solve this problem.
Thank you in advance.
Although screen is black, you should still be able to get into bootloader by normal procedure (turn off device, hold vol down & then press power on). Once in bootloader try flashing (you may wanna try returning phone to stock rom as it sounds like your screen has become loose from motherboard and needs fixed under warranty).
To return to stock rom follow guidelines at bottom of first post in this thread.
Still not working
Thank you for the quick reply, I manage to flash it again with the original rom, but nothing happen, the screen is still black. Probably as you said is something wrong with the display. Another problem is I don't have any more warranty; maybe there is a solution to solve the problem?
The Blackstone is out for less than one Year. Your should really have warranty. oO
Yes you wright but I’m 10000 km from home where who knows where the receipt is. Still hopping there is a solution, maybe I can fix it somehow. By the time I get home the waranty is gone. Thanks.
open it up, and attach the ribbon cable back in, just take your time if you need the htc touch hd service manual, i have it. if you wish to use it let me know i will post it here.
That is going to be a big help because I never open up a phone, I watch couple of times some videos on you tube but that’s all about. Anyway I have to open it because I flash it with 3 different roms and still the screen is black. Even when flashing does not showing anything on the screen. I remember for my old blackjack I had a app called My Mobile to see the screen on your desktop I install that I so the splash screen , the align the screen but I couldn’t go more taping the screen of the phone by looking to the desktop.
Thank you for your help and I waiting for the service manual.
Thanks’ one more time.
You can get the service manual here: http://htcdriver.com/index.php?page=htc-blackstone-touch-hd-service-manual
Start downloading. Thank you

Thank you,
First I have to find a place where I can buy the tools, probably in couple of days I let you know about the evolution of the HTC operation.
You dont have the possibility to contact youre retailer and require a copy of the receipt?
Since the phone got an IMEI number, you could probably just send them the phone and they'll see that you still have warranty on it.
I'd call them before sending the phone, also.. don't forget to restore the spl etc..
