Hi,
I've flashed the HTC rom to my Kaiser and Orangeworld is not showing correctly. From a previous device, I remember that there are registry settings to fix this.
Can someone running the Orange UK rom please post the values for these registry keys please?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\User Agent\Post Platform
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Internet explorer\User Agent
Thanks for any help

2 entrys

Custom PPC; 240x320; HTC P4450; OpVer 24.181.1.612
Hope this is what you need.
Darn I've put that in, but it's not working... just to make sure I understand what you said:
The key ending in "Post Platform":
no entries
And the key ending in "User Agent":
one entry named "Custom" with the value "PPC; 240x320; HTC P4450; OpVer 24.181.1.612"
Is that correct? Thanks for you help.

Nope sorry ill do it again
The key ending in "Post Platform":
Windows CE

Two entrys
Default (value not set)
Custom PPC; 240x320; HTC P4450; OpVer 24.181.1.612
That's strange, the value in "Custom" still doesn't do the trick:
PPC; 240x320; HTC P4450; OpVer 24.181.1.612
However, I searched the web and found this for the old TYTN:
PPC; 240x320; SPV M3100; OpVer 12.16.5.111
and that causes Orangeworld to display correctly on my TYTNII !
Thanks for your help anyway TinyK, but I can't use the value that's in your registry for some reason...
Errr... TinyK I don't suppose you mean P4550 instead of P4450 do you?
Groan, rolling eyes... it's working if you use this string in "Custom"
PPC; 240x320; HTC P4550; OpVer 24.181.1.612
Thanks for you help again, we got there in the end ha ha ha

Hi,
I just installed a german ROM on my english TyTN II, so the hardware keyboard is set to german. I've only found cabs to switch from english to german but not the other way...
I also found that:
changing HKLM|Hardware|DeviceMap|Keybd > CurLang to your CountryID
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
But in my registry there is no 'CurLang'-value at that path.
Have I to set value by my self, or is there an other way to switch the layout back?
Maybe someone got an ideae
Greetings Oli
P.S.: I use the "M-Diamond v1.4 Full with SqlCE Mobile 3.5" (WM 6.1) ROM
Hi, welcome to XDA !
This topic has be adressed already. Addtionnaly, it is recommended to post in the thread of your ROM, as this problem could ROM specific .
If you do not have CurLang, you could try to create it (DWORD) and set the Hexadecimal value to 407 (which is the value for German layout).
Then soft reset, worth the try . If it's still not working, try searching around, you may find quickly what you want!
Yea I've been studying the keyboard related posts here before I posted the message. I only found topics that dealt with us-layout->other-layout problems and for that, there are many fixes around.
But right now I found a workaround witch worked in that post.
THIS IS NOT A TILT KEYBOARD FIX SOLUTION but a workaround for people having an original TYTN II with QWERTY hw keyboard and ROM in a differnet language. Below sample is for a German ROM flashed into a US original KAIS130:
There are few registry entries you have to change.
First set:
[HKCU\MUI]
CurLang = 1033 (or HEX 0x409) - IMPORTANT, set this first!!!
Then go to
[HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts]
and - to be on the save side - go through all SUB KEYS and set all "00000407" values to "00000409" (Do not rename the keys themself!)
there is still one SUBKEY which has your language written as a string:
[HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\0000 0407]
"Layout Text" = "German"
Change the above entry to "US", soft reset your device - done!
- - -
Just keep in mind: above sample is for a German ROM (407) - if you flashed a different language to an english device, then the "407" will be something corresponding to your language.

My HTC TyTN II seems to revert back to
Regional Settings: Afrikaans episodically.
Any way to get rid of this ?
It's some windows mobile thing that happens from time to time.

Replace xxx by language code. '413' is Dutch (The Netherlands) for example. For the codes see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms834426.aspx#locplatform30_codepages

Should I just find a registry editor and try it ?
Other ideas ?
Could someone please provise me with values for these registry strings from a stock Topaz ROM with the original Phone Canvas?
HKLM\Software\HTC\Phone\Cover\UntouchableRect
&
HKLM\Software\HTC\Phone\Cover\UntouchableRect_NoRect
Thanks in advance.
Using PHM RegEdit, mine shows no value (blank) against both of those two.

I think theres a need for this thread. Those of us who flash these amazing roms sometimes lose the original functionality of our stock rom like AT&T cingular video feature. I opened this thread to get the info needed to get it restored back on our customized devices. Any contributors welcome to solve this little dilemna. So Bring It On!!
PS.
Yes Im aware of Sheps thread in Raphael forum and although its similar...its not the same.
WHAT WE NEED:
Original opera.ini from tilt II stock rom
Location of where to replace it..
Device Id info which I'll post shortly...
Dont know what else..
Im using opera 9.7 35523 and 10 beta2u
Try these cabs to install an original opera.ini. they are a quick way to enable and disable the proxy but the enable one will give you the opera.ini that you want.
Would be nice to get the AT&T cingular video feature on custom roms.
About the only thing I miss from stock rom ..........

I dont know for sure since I use e2 rom which is cooked in. but I would say if you have opera and htc streaming media then if you install this cab, then go to startmenu and run enable opera proxy then it should work by going to CV website from opera. The location of your opera install may casue a problem, this is set up for \\windows\opera9 install.
whats the user agent for the stock at&t tilt 2 rom?
I remember with my kaiser and raphael, all we had to do to get cingular video working on a custom rom was set the user agent to what at&t has set for its devices, enable the proxy and it worked.
I went to the at&t store and tried going to http://whatsmyuseragent.com/ but it wouldn't load (will load on my device with custom rom)
Here are some cabs if you didn't have them. I think they are from the Fuze days with Da-G kitchen roms
Here is what you'll need
Here is what you will need:
1) Opera that points to the ATT Proxies. This will depend on which version of Opera that the custom ROM uses. Opera 9.5 uses opera.ini files while 9.7 uses reg entries. I have attached cabs to toggle both 9.5 and 9.7 below.
2) Correct identification of device by the ATT Proxies. For this add the following reg entries to your device:
Code:
;Identification
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Ident]
"Name"="HTC-ST7377"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Ident]
"Desc"=""
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Settings]
"LocalName"="HTC-ST7377"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\Captparam\ExifInfo]
"Make"="HTC-ST7377"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\Captparam\ExifInfo]
"Model"="HTC-ST7377"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Prefs\User Prefs]
"UAProf URL"="http://www.htcmms.com.tw/att/ST7377-1.0.xml"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Prefs\User Prefs]
"Custom User-Agent"="HTC-ST7377/%ROM_VERSION% Opera/9.70 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en)"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Internet Explorer\User Agent]
"CustomBase"="HTC-ST7377/%ROM_VERSION% Mozilla/4.0"
You will also need the shortcut for launching the Mobile Video which should look something like this:
Code:
21#"\Windows\OperaL.exe" http://cingularvideo.cingular.com ?\Windows\ATT_Link.dll,-156
Hope that helps.
Here is the link to what NotatreoFan had posted for AT&T extra's.

Can anyone confirm this works? Just did all the reg-edits, doing a soft-reset now. I just don't see how changing the camera's EXIF data would effect the internet browser....
i think tomorrow i'm gonna flash the stock rom and pull everything out of it needed if this doesn't work.
With the original tilt and the fuze, all you needed to do was change the User Agent to that of the Fuze, or Tilt and enable the proxy and it worked but i've haven't had any luck with custom roms on the tilt2 :/
-UPDATE-
IT WORKS!!! thank you so much! i remember when i first got my tilt i tried for about an entire day to no avail!
Simply did the reg-edits, soft-reset, installed the opera 97 proxy enable cab and voila!
adding this to the wiki! I love this forum!
Hey guys,
today I updated my x1 with the "826x Series ** WM 6.5.3 build [21682] - Sense 2019 (18/10/2010)" ROM. The rom is brilliant, but i still have one problem. My qwertz keypad was converted to a qwerty pad, so if i type "z" my phone writes a "y" and vice versa. Is there a chance to change it in this Rom?
Thanks for help
you can solve this problem.
try this:
registry
HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD\
"CurLang"="407" (HEX) <--(german is 0407 country code!)
you need a registry editor to change this value
softreset and it should work
great it worked. Thanks..
is it even possible to write "ä,ö,ü,ß"?
sorry, my mistakt.. its competly working
