ToucFlo on Tmo rom? - Wing, P4350 Herald Upgrading

I have just gone from using an MDA (Wizard) to a Wing. The only thing I'm really missing is what I think is called touchflo, ie, the today screen that has the time really big, or picture dialing, or weather, or apps. Can I install this on the phone, or do I need to get a custom rom? I'm liking (so far 12 hours into it) the tmo rom, after adding batterystatus and totalcommander etc, it's running smooth.

What you're talking about isint "touchflo". You're talking about "HTC home" it sounds like. There are .cabs on here for HTC home, just search for it.

Will the AT&T Tilt/8925 have the HTC Home screen?

The HTC Home screen with the giant lcd-looking clock, and the quick access to programs, weather, contacts, ringer?
And what about finger scrolling and panning?

Yes it does. This is answered in other threads titled "Touch flo" or something similar.
I'm speaking to the AT&T version specifically.
Forgive me if I missed it, but I haven't found anything that says it will have these two features, which are present on the HTC-branded Tytn II. The screenshots on modaco.com do not show an HTC home screen, either.
Can you please confirm?
Okay,according to Paul at modaco.com the AT&T Tilt/8925
WILL have Touchflo (finger scrolling and panning) and
WILL NOT have the HTC home screen (big clock, shortcuts).

Yes just install the .cab. you can find it in the hermes area.
What about the Windows Live software? I heard that AT&T wasn't including that with their stock ROM.

Same situation. If the ATT rom doesn't include it you can download the .cab file from the hermes area or wait until it's posted here. I use several programs and add ons that the ATT rom doesn't include but it's pretty easy to just install these my self once I have the basic rom set up.
can someone please post the cab file? i cant find it in the Hermes section.
you can find it here:

Being that you can get rid of bloatware and install cabs for missing programs you want on a tilt, is there still a big advantage to flashing (speed or otherwise)?

Trying out both at&t shipped compare to some HTC roms, speed isn't too much different. I skip the customization in the beginning, and I get a pretty decent rom. Seems a tiny bit more stable than HTC roms.

Here is the HTC home screen with six buttons.

Looking for a Today screen recommendation

I've just downloaded the HTC Home Customizer and it's great, but now I'm thinking I might be looking for something else.
What would be the best option to maybe get a row of buttons down on the bottom or up at the top, or both? I'd like to clear out the screen in the middle especially for my wallpapers and wasn't sure if anyone has something like this set up.
Also, if anyone has some screenshots of them, I'd like to see it. I've looked through the 'Today screen' thread but didn't see much for what I'm looking for - or I could have missed them.
Just got my Tilt and I love it so far...
Thanks!
Where did you get the customizer from? I've been looking for it...
Ive just switched over to SBP Pocket plus, the new version is great! You should be able to do just what you want with it.

Thanks. That looks like it still takes up a lot of screen real estate and that's what I'm trying to avoid... and it's also something I'd need to purchase. I'm hoping there's some free 3rd party apps like HTC Home Customizer, etc.

the cube

I cant find a rom that has a touch flow cube. I want the black diamond rom for my wizard to work with herald. I love that rom!!
There are many ROMs here. Usually the ones that aren't labeled "lite" "slim" or "clean" have the cube but the cube has to enabled.
cube
ive tried several roms and I got one that lete enable the cube, but I dont know how to invoke it. On my wizard i invoked it by setting it to a button. Im lost.
The WM6.1 ROM's don't have it.... :-/
well i don't know, i do kinda use it a llllot with the WM6 ROM's...
You have to set it up. You can set it to use a button or a gesture. I find it utterly useless, so I'm not the expert on it.
I didn't flash one yet... I was just assuming since the 3 here all said Touch Flo No Cube...hmm...maybe I won't miss the cube after all!!
I mostly use it for the photo dialer.. haha... i have like 18 "faves" now
Oh...ttran released Open Touch v3.0 Biggy has a cube..i think..
how interesting..........
Touch-It 4.41, which is better, has a Cube.
Worked for me and most everyone else whose tried it. Apparently the problem is his and not the software's.

thats strange, for my wing, when i go into the settings, it just has a half a box, and i cant click it.... i think it may have to do with that x button cab i had to install.

If you installed that X Button FIX then yeah it creates a useless Icon in the programs called TF Settings.
That IS THE SOLUTION! IF YOU DONT LIKE IT GET THE HELL RID OF IT!
This has been said several time now in the forums!

Well you know the cube makes your Device SOOOOOO Sloww!!
And you allready have a applaucher in the HTC Home Plug so why cube ?
well... it doesnt seem to slow down my phone.. i also have the sprint home plug-in. i like having the 2nd app launcher and photodialer.. and sometimes way more faster than going back to the today screen and having to focus on which tab, then which shortcut to push. with the cube..i could be using whatever program i'm on..then with only 1 or 2 finger gestures, i'd be at the dialer or app launcher.windows mobile apps are known to run differently on same model phone and everybody has different tastes.. just cause i liked it doesnt mean you have to also.. and really, it didn't slow down performance for me... but activesync startig up in the background, hat slows mine down!

Noticed Something with the Video/Graphics Driver Issue

For those of you that are running the original HTC WWE rom (1.56.405.5, radio 1.27.12.11), and have the 'HTC Home' on the today screen (i.e. the big clock with weather, favorites etc.) if you click on the "Launcher" tab, then click on the "Programs" button (if you have it saved), you will see the best and fastest scrolling you ever saw in your life while in the Programs area. But if you exit the Programs area to go back to the main screen, then click on the "start" tab, then go to "Programs", everything is slow and laggy again when scrolling.
I hope I explained this correctly. Maybe some genius out there can use this information to figure out why the scrolling is excellent when going into the Programs area using the "Launcher" on the HTC Home, and use it to develop something??
P.S. I only say the original HTC rom because that is what I am using and I don't know if others are experiencing this as well.
Very, Very nice find.
I can confirm this to work for:
- Dutty's WM6.1 BUILD 5.219716
- Radio 1.64.06.04 - 25.70.40.02H
yeah your right. also works for me with original rom. indeed a nice find.
I also thought it had something to do with video drivers initially, but unfortunately, it's just a different program which is launched from HTC Home.

smart dialer

anyone know where to get the cab for the smart dialer program? it helps to ease my dialing names? Somehow missing from my kaiser dutty new rom.......
Not sure what you mean by smart dialer but the dialer that was in Dutty's 19199 rom is available on the second posts of his 209 build. I searched the forums and didn't come up with much. Try searching:
smartdialingwm5_257.cab
Are you sure it's not in there? You might just need to enable it.
Dont know what you are looking for exactly, I use this one on a stock AT&T ROM
screenshots and CAB attached.
tyguy its exectly what i needed.......but how come its not included in the roms?? thanks alott
Everybody likes different dialers I know even some who like the original one coming with the AT&T ROM.
It's the same as with "what's included in ROMs". I'm fine for now with a bloatware free installed 2nd gen AT&T (beside the power sucking radio) and the SPB products and would rather like to see "plain pale ROMs" with just the major fixes (like camera fix) and perhaps a good task manager and HTC Audio. Everything else can be installed, though a little bit more work (or configure UC), but at least only what I like. Not that an HTC Home, Weather, etc. is bad but that's my opinion

I thought this was what I was looking for... but it does not have a Speed Dial button... what gives?
Please tell me that you are kidding! Set speed dial up in the options and LOONG press the number. 1 is voicemal per default.
Edit:
It's "menu" (right softkey) - speeddial in case you are lost...
Honestly, did not know that worked... thank you!
