Try to reset, hard reset... nothing...
Can anyone help an moron like me ??? (I'm reaaly moron, not practice with the PDA's)
(I use Vista Business, I update Windows Media Device Center before this...)

read wiki?
Did you follow the steps as indicated in the wiki? As you upgrade from 2003:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM6_WizzardUpgrade1_WM2003SE0
See next page for Vista related issues...
Read and good luck!
Yes, I follow that steps...
The problem now is: I cannot acces my PDA, I can't revive it...
How can do that ?
Thanks...
Hi, You say:
Now, the only thing I see is SERIAL (top of screen when out of cradle and USB when I put the PDA on cradle) and v2.06 (down to screen).
Well i guess this is the bootloader, so when you connect the phone to the cradle you can upgrade??
Success
As MuratNL says: you are in bootloader. Connect the cradle (with PDA) to your PC (SERIAL changes to USB). Now execute the rom upgrade file from your PC and upgrade should begin.
If you have problems with connection and Vista read wiki (see above link) or try the upgrade from a WinXP machine...
I try this, but nothing happen.... Tonight I try with an XP Pc...
OK, I follow the guide posted by bins and everything goes OK...
(The I put an Italian ROM [ WM6 ] and run perfectly)
Thanks
Just a quick note:
i've experienced that thing so many times
that it's safe to say that:
IF the rom copying aint started yet, meaning YOU DONT SEE the % screen...
and if you've been waiting for that to appear so long...
and you're stuck at the:

you can disconnect the BA to the cradle withouth harming the BA.
1. you can disconnect/takeoff the BA from the cable
2. on pc, terminate the upgrade process
(taskmanager terminate the RUU - "MaUpgradeUt_NoID.exe")
3. reconnect your BA still on "Serial/USB" screen
4. restart your RUU again...
that would work flawlessly. trust me. i can vouch for that.
unless you saw the Rom Copy % Screen...

I was performing the radio update on my MDAIII and now he hangs in the bootloader with USB in the upper middle und 2.08 in the under middle. All resets won`t bring it back to life. If I try to reinstall the update all I get is a blank message screen (update from version to version) in my Vista. How can I get out of there.
I did everything what was stated here
The original BAUpgradeUT won`t find my device. The MAUpgradeUt_noID.exe gives me the blank screen with the update from to screen.

I'm using a Vista PC.
After the Radio update to 1.15 the error described above is not to go away yet.
What to do, I'm nearly in tears.
Finally I got it back but with an old Romupdate from T-Online. Is there someone who got the QTC 9090 update (latest one)
That was fast..
im glad you solved your problem.
i think someone here has it.
just post what you need and make it as a title for others to read in the digest.
Im not a expert but is vista the problem??
Most likely.
Failed MDA II flash with vista notebook
Hello everybody,
I just read this thread in hope to find a solution for my problem, which is quite similar to the one described here initially.
I got a used MDA III with T_Mobile ROM. Since I'm a customer with O2, I wanted to change the ROM to O2 as well. I followed the directions given in an other thread here (don't have the link just now) and during the flashing, the flash application suddenly had no connection to my MDA III anymore. It was securely settled in its craddle an connected to my laptop via USB. Now my MDA III is stuck in Bootloader Mode with USB v2.07 displayed on the screen.
Each retry of installing either the O2 or the T_Mobile ROM now meet with the error 101: no connection. I read here that you managed to update successfully with a vista pc. Thus I wanted to ask, how you did that since I just don't seem to find the reason for the connection failing each time.
Here is what i tried to establish connection so far:
* disabled virus scanner & firewall
* unplugged the mda III and plugged it in again. It was recognized as a new device but that didn't help the connection issue
Could you please post what you did to make the update work under vista? Help would be greatly appreciated

Try on computer with Windows XP and kill activesynk (wcecomm.exe on taskmanager/processes)
Maybe it will work. If u cant flash O2 ROM try to use "MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe". On my Qtek 9090 allways flash using this APPS and allways work.
U can try too format device first, put it on candle and use "mtty1.42.exe". On XP, kill active sync, and open mtty1.42.exe and select port USB and put OK. Do "Enter" on command and should appear USB>. After this write Task 28. This will format all your PC. Try install SO after this. This command delete all files on PPC. I have attach files that you maybe need.
thankfor the tipp and sorry for my late reply. Since I have no XP PC available i tried the mtty1.42.exe on my vista notebook. When i run it however, it only lists com port 1-3, no usb port. Do i have to make a special configuration on vista for it to work?
Thanks in advance,

In vista i dont know...sorry for my late reply too.... in XP u must kill ActiveSync process called wincecom.exe. in vista, maybe u have to kill the Windows Mobile Device Center....i dont know...
Dont forget, put the Qtek 9090 in Boot Loader Mode (Pressing Power Button + Record Button + Reset), maybe will appear USB and u can format the device.
If this does not work, try on Windows XP....Find a friend with Windows XP and ask him to use his PC only to do that.
Maybe somebody in forum have the Windows Vista and can help u....
Sorry my terrible english....

Try this
Downlaod the XDA IIs .exe file and run it - no need to put into USB mode

this should reset to factory default (o2)

Yes, i know my reply is late but the problem ist 100% Vista! i Tryed 2 ours with vista...then i decided to format my pc and to install XP. At the first try it worked!
I know this has been posted about FAR too many times in the past, but all those topics either don't work, or have dead-downloads.. I've read all the topics I could find, Wiki, Google.. all roughly had the same information and didn't work
I've tried hard resetting, soft resetting, i tried an older version of mtty without success. (The link to mtty 1.42 was dead..)
I am also unable to connect it to the PC, it makes the "Connection" sound, but it's not listed as a device..
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, I need it working as soon as possible!
I would have to say a whole lot more information is needed before you will be able to receive much help. Such as, windows pc operating system version, windows mobile operating version , activsync (if xp) version, does the BA say USB 2.08 when you plug it into the cradle, etc.. Also I have heard some traffic that a few people have had this issue with one BA while another works fine in the same scenario with the same hardware. I have never experienced any problems other than once requiring two flash attempts for success. I am sure if you can inform us we can help you muddle through this.
Windows pc operating system version: (Assuming you mean the "host" PC) Vista Home [Hate it so much..]
Windows mobile operating version: 2003..
Activsync (if xp) version: No clue, using Vista temporarily, HATE IT..
Does the BA say USB 2.08 when you plug it into the cradle: For the first time, yes, it just did!

Well the link for "I am stuck in grey scren, "Serial" or "USB" (when the device is placed in the cradle) at the top and numbers at the bottom (BootLeader)," doesn't contain any info, it's ONE sentence saying Under Construction..
And the Vista link doesn't contain any info regarding fixing the problem

My fault, I gave you too many choices. follow the link to the Upgrade_Vista page and follow those steps. You must install drivers and make system changes to do this. Use the following link:

I have the same problem when i put my BA in bootloader mode it says USB up the top and v2.08 down the bottom. I upgraded to WM6.1 fine well it said 100% and that it was complete. But now it just says at the blue, green, red and white screen and down the bottom it says
(updated my raido to 1.15)
R 1.15.00
G 1337.45
D 6.10.00.WWE
When i try and do a hard reset and select No, Yes, Yes then hit the mail button the screen just goes white (i left it for 15mins and it didn't do anything).
Its strange because i just upgraded two other BA today to WM 6.1 and they work fine but they both had v2.07 at the bottom of the screen in bootloader mode.Im also using Windows XP SP2.
I have tried using mtty.exe with set 14 0, task 28 and task 0 and still that doesn't do anything
Edit:
I have managed to get WM5 on to it but only by doing a hard reset and selecting no,no.no and then it takes a very long time until wm5 starts but if i restart my device it takes ages to start wm5.
2nd Edit
I noticed when i was running WM5 i looked at the device Information and the model No wasn't PH20B it was something really strange.
So i downloaded GetDeviceData.exe and in "DeviceData.txt" it has
@ ÷ + ü ÀÐ Ðð@
`à W W E AT%CID? * 5 . 0 4 . 1 0 . 1.15.00 % 4
Just received a used Mteor. At first glance, it is normal, IPL is 0.90 and SPL is 2.05.
I want to upgrade to WM6.1, but...
Every time I am in the bootloader, I can't connect : no "USB" on the bootloader screen, no communication with the PC.
It is the case with the regular bootloader, or with the "modified by DES" one.
And I can't get MTTY nor Teraterm to talk with the phone
But ActiveSync is working without a glitch through USB...
Have you ever seen that ? Any advice for me ?
Thanks in advance !

First of all:
It's fantastic what you are doing with wm6.1 and the Breeze, Futureshock !
I am new and trying to upgrade it myself, but at first I didn't have any luck.
Here is a simple newby step-by-step manual:
- Download and extract a MTeoR-FutureShock-WM61-xxxx.x.rar
- Check your Mteor battery in more then 50 % full
- connect the Mteor to the computer via usb and check if Activesync works
- go with DOS (cmd line) to the directory and start runme.bat
- On the Mteor press camera and powerbutton at the same time.
- then immediately press any key on the computer to continue the batch script.
- now you should see the 3-color bootscreen
- press any key to start the rom-update program and follow its directions.
When the update is finished (in less then 5 minutes), then wait untill the first boot is complete.
If you don't get the 3-color bootscreen or you the update on the Mteor stays on 0 % and the rom-updater displays an error, try testing this:
On the Mteor start the explorer and in the root directory (press UP once) find SSPL.EXE en start it.
If the Mteor won't start the program and there is an error like "insufficient trustlevel".
You need to remove the application lock on your Mteor.
Run SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe on your PC with Activesync working and then install SP_AllowCertificateInstall.cab on the Mteor.
You will find those two in the .rar in ".\opt Software\Unlock Tools"
Then redo from the start.
Then, Have fun !! (Futureshock & DarkDirk)
P.S. works on a BREE100 with IPL-0.90 and SPL-2.05.

Yes, I tried all that, but couldn't get past the bootloader step : the rom update failed (com error). After, I tried to understand why, and narrowed the problem to the USB connexion.
Yes , I use win XP, and I just tried on another computer, with the same result.
It may be :
- a failure of the hardware ?
- a limitation of my IPL - SPL ?
- a sort of lock of app or radio or OS ?
- ???
Thanks for your time for helping me !
Ok... Hmm what about upgrade the radio ROM first then?

Ok so I was upgrading my radio on my P3600 to 1.41.00.11 to enable GPS and when it started upgrading, the status bar started on the PDA (as per trinityguides.info's instrucions) but it didn't on my computer. My computer then switched itself off, was dead for about 3 seconds, then restarted itself. I pulled the USB cable from the PDA and now it is stuck in a bootloader style screen, but sais,
TRIN100
IPL-0.50
TRIN100 MFG
SPL-1.30.Olipro
A soft reset does nothing, neither a 'Battery pull-out'
I think that I am stuck in Hard SPL (according to Trinity Guides). Can anyone help me get the PDA back to normal so I can re-flash with the new Radio please? Thanks Alot.
P.s If it is of any relevance, My PDA was not synced with Activesync, But before the flash, I downloaded Activesync 4.5 to fix the 'Generic RNID device' problem on XP. It was identified on my pc as 'Mobile device' in my computer, as far as I can remember.
Sorry if this thread is not new to the site but as a noob (lol) im not really 'broken in' to the site yet. Thanks again for your help.
Hi everyone,
After further research, I reckon I should do the following:
1. In hard SPL, Connect it to another XP computer (my laptop)
2. Untick box called 'Enable USB connections' or whatever in Activesync 4.5
3. Open the ROM of my choice and Double click 'upgrade' or whatever
ROM][WWE][30.10.2008]Karmba_a Diamond Blue For Trinity
4. Wait for the ROM to install
5. Let the trinity soft-reset
6. Done!
7. Upgrade to radio '1.41.00.11' off trinityguides
8. Wait for the radio to install
9. Done!
Please tell me if im wrong so I know if there are any other steps to take. Thanks alot.
Ok guys, I guess, with time I solved my own problem. I did in the end connect my PDA to my XP laptop and used 'splxploit' (thanks to whoever made/programmed this!) which unbricked my device. Now when I tried to upgrade my radio again to a different version, because I have Olipro 1.30 installed instead of 1.20, I was unsuccessful. This shall be what I do next so I guess this thread is not needed anymore.
I'd appreciate it if one of the mod's would close this thread to try and save precious server memory, or can I do it myself (soz im new(ish) to the site!)?
Cheers Guys.

actually, depending on your screenshot, your device is exactly ready to flash, you just gotta put it in the cradle ad start flashing it with whatever rom you want. because what you see there is the bootloader:
How to enter into the so-called Bootlader mode on the HTC Blue Angel devices
Note: entering Bootloader mode will result a Hard Reset if you have WM2003SE on your device!
1. Press Power + record (above the volume slider) + softreset at the same time.
2. You should see a white screen with "Serial" text on it and the Bootloader version.
3. Put your device into the cradle
4. Make sure that the charger of your PDA is connected to the cradle.
5. The text should change to "USB" now.
what i want to say is, start flashing following the WIKI Wizard or several step by step guides to be found in the wiki and the forum

hi guys!
my ba also displays this strange message after an unsuccessed update (disconnected before finished). i have tried to install the update once more but it says: error 101: connection error. because i own my ba just since 20 hours, i don't know what to do now. so maybe someone could translate it into newbie-language. one more thing: unfortunately i use vista.
thanks for your help!
tried it once more with the new windows mobile device manager but my pc does not find my ba. vista just plays a sound when i put it on the cradle. i think you are the only ones in the hole www who can help me. need your help!
use maupgradeut_noid for upgrade
both of you read wiki there are solutions to your problems
maupgradeut_noid tells me this:
don't think that it is right.
hi folks!
i have tried it a hundred times with my vista mashine and a couple of times with xp on virtualbox but nothing. 15 minutes ago i have turned on my old xp mashine, downloaded the ROM from tmobile germany and started the application. it worked for me without maupgradeut_noid. only the original rom and nothing else. so my tip: don't waste your time with vista! xp is much better for solving this problem. thanks xp!
ok, but as i see it you didn't solve a problem but avoided it, and not even in the best way. i use vista too and i am unable to re-flash my device. the general problem is that the identifier of the device change over the flashing process, so vista downloads new drivers and cuts the connection. as i understand it, there is hardly any way to avoid that.
of course you do't need to use maupgrade_noid for an original rom, the _noid file is, as implied by the name, to avoide the device from identifying, so you could flash a WWE Rom to a rather locked german device.
as you might have realised, the picture you posted shows the magician and not the blueangel, hence the name Maupgrade instead of Baupgrade, which again is solved by the _noid version of the file and putting the device to bootloader first.
that the window does not show the versions from what version you flash to what version exactlyu doesn't matter at all. but as mentioned before, you should use an xp machine which will work like a charm!
am i to understand, that you have the latest official t-mobile rom on? the wm2003se?
as fast and battery friendly that might be, it is so out-dated and practically no newer third party software will be supported, like the fantastic application SPB Online, and the interface is incredibly ugly. if you ever want to try and flash your device again, try my tips above and it will work out just fine, as you seem to have mixed up a few things, but never mind.
i wish you best luck for trying again and will stand by for support, whether something might still not work out as planned.
good luck
Chef_Tony
well if you upgrade under vista take a look here
also look here for MAUpgradeUT_NOID and proper files - it is on the bottom of the page, so you only need the nbf files
