Help wanted - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Im a bit of a newbie to this but i know a thing or two and im not daft! My mda vario crashed so i redid the rom and it crashed half way through taking me to boot mode.
I took maybe 30attempts at reloading the rom as everytime i did it crashed half way through! Eventually i got a fresh mda offical rom on to it and it started first time but then crashed the second time i turned it on.now once in a while it starts properly but will crash for no reason all the time! Ive tried reflashing the rom again and im stuck at boot mode once again!
Ive taken the advice of many of your post's
Ive tried new wires, differnt roms, firewalls off, internet off, active sync on,active sync uninstalled everything and still it wont upload the full rom.
Im a bit lost and this is my final attempt as ive spent too many hours messing around. by the way its a G3.
ANY ADVICE is so so so welcome as im about to never own a pocket pc style phone again. thanks alot anyone who reads all this and anyone that can help!

Do you have an SD card in it? If you do, try taking it out because it can cause problems sometimes when flashing. If your Sd card has problems it may be why you keep crashing when you do get a ROM on there also. I've read that taking the sim card out may also help.

I took the sd card out,and yeh it did seem there was little or no difference when a simcard was in or out. At present its stuck on boot menu again and im wondering what is the best rom to try? im pretty sure the phone is completely unlocked as it had wm6 on it when i got it. thanks again

Hum... by having WM6 is doesn't really mean its unlocked... they could have flashed it using ShellTools.
As I understood it, even if you flash an official ROM, the PDA doesn't work properly, hanging right?
If so, I'm afraid your Wizard might be dying - faulty ROM memory...

Did I Brick My 8125???

How do I delete this post?!
* UPDATE: Either I'm just really tired or I am going blind. I fixed my problem, but now I cant seem to be able to find a way to delete this post...
I got my Cingular 8125 about a week ago, it's been a dream! I LOVE THIS THING!
Tonight I decided to update the ROM. I got it with 1.8 or something really old like that so I thought updating would be a good idea. I went to the HTC site an downloaded the latest ROM (2.25).
As I am a mac user, I fired up the old PC and updated. But before I did, I installed SPB Backup on the 8125 and backed everything up to my miniSD. Update went fine. Worked like a charm. I went to restore my files and thats where it all went to hell!!!
I made the mistake of restoring ALL of my files and settings. It seemed fine when it was done. the 8125 asked for my password, and as I finished typing it in, the 8125 rebooted without notice. The Cingular screen came up, loaded fine. Then the Windows Pocket PC screen came up and then the top bar with icons came up. That was it. Now it just sits there, nothing else loads. I can put it on stand by. But nothing else happens. No today screen, no phone, no signal, nothing.
I tried to connect it back to my PC but ActiveSync cant mount it. I tried the Wizard ROM update installer, but it said that the device couldn't be found. I tried connecting it to my Mac with Missing Sync. It asked for a password, which it has never done before (which seemed promising) but after I typed it in, again, no device was found.
Now the poor thing is just sitting there on my desk
Is there anything I can do to get it up and running again? Is there a way I can get one of my machines to recognize it and wipe it clean so I can start fresh???
Please help! I bought this phone refurbished, so I dont know if I will be able to get it replaced. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Was this device CID unlocked? Did you try going to the bootloader mode (Hold camera down and press reset while holding camera button, rainbow screen should appear) and then flashing it with your desire ROM?
If it still don't work, you might need an SD backup image of a rom. I've been trying to look for one but the only think I found is an image of a dutch language ROM. If I do get one I'll give you a PM.

Hey thanks Clem! I did solve my problem, but now I have a new one. I HATE 2.25!!!
So if you do get your hands on an older ROM, I would be forever greatful!
Thanks for responding!

ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wizard/DumpROM/How_to_DumpROM.txt
and here are the files needed

I think I am in trouble...

Hey all,
I just tried flashing ivans just to clean with the sd card. And well, I think it got hung for a long time. So i pulled out the battery. Now the device will not boot up. I cant even get the bootloader to come up. Sorry if I seem like I am panicking a little. But i am haha. So if I have finally ****ed up my phone for good, can someone tell me what I should do or if there is still some way I can fix this problem.
Thanks You, Any help is greatly appreciated.
btw, the led doesnt even come up when i plug it in to the charger
my dads ganna kill me.. lol
Sorry guys...false alarm haha
Don't tell me you forgot to put the battery back in...
uh no, i think im still in a great deal of trouble. I was able to get into the bootloader but everytime i try the ruu, my phone powers off after 1 percent....anything guys?
btw...i have hard spl
What error message does the ruu give? You are attempting to flash the tmobile rom correct?
Try flashing again through the SD card. It "hangs" for a while. It's supposed to.
If you're using the stock tmobile one, you have to remove the SPL.nb if you have it HardSPL'ed.

ROM Corruption Question...

Hello Guys,
I am thinking about Flashing back to my original ROM that came with my Xperia. I tried other ROMs, primarily Itje's, and they are just brilliant, but I am not sure how they be used as everyday ROMs. The Touch-IT 4.5 has the battery leakage issue, some SMS issue, and I really don't like the new Start Menu thing with TouchFlo. Even though they have a fix with for the Start Menu thing, you lose the Programs tab, since the new TouchFlo is not meant to be like that. I understand that there must be more solutions for that ROM, but I will be honest, even after reading as much as possible AND searching, it's just so impossible to go through those 100s of pages.
I also tried the WM 6.5 Beta ROM. Again, excellent work on Itje's part, but I just don't think I am ready for WM 6.5 yet. It's just not stable and that is understandable since it's BETA.
Anyway, with that said, since I am not very experienced with Flashing, I had a question. What happens to a phone if the ROM image (Kovsimg.nbh) that is chosen to Flash the phone with, from an SD Card, is corrupt? Does the phone get stuck in the middle of everything, and the phone ends up as a brick, or are there any ways to prevent this from happening?
I am just asking this because I am not certain... the ROM I backed up COULD be corrupt, I mean I don't know. There were no errors when I backed it up, and followed the tutorial with no problems.
Any help is appreciated, thank you very much guys!
I just got out of that situation. Tried flashing by micro sd way. Took out batt and micro sd, then used the USB flashing tool to flash a new rom.
Thanks for your response, dadeadman, but after reading your reply, I am a bit more confused (Sorry). Please correct me if I am wrong, but are you saying that you tried Flashing with the SD, it was unsuccessful (for whatever reason), you then took out your battery and the SD Card, and Flashed it through USB using the RUU Flashing tool? If this is correct, then can you explain how the phone even connects to the computer with an OS (ROM) on it? I would assume that if the flashing process gets corrupt, the phone ends up with no bootable OS, right?
Sorry for the confusion, I hope it made sense .
You have to put it in bootloader mode then connect the usb. The white bottom portion of the bootloader screen will say USB, though the mobile device cnetre/activesync cannot detect. However you are still able to flash a working rom with the RUU Flashing tool.

Phone slow and often doesnt work at all

Hi people,
I recently decided to update my touch diamond to wm6.5.
Already got HardSPL 1.93 some time ago together with the swift rom.
Now I downloaded this rom:
BOGYSOFT WM6.5 Build 23060
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552162
And followed the instructions carefully, put the rom on the internal storage and started the update process as usual.
After it had finished installing I already noticed it took the phone way to long to completely boot into windows.
After a few reinstalls I finally got it to work but it was very slow and often I couldnt even unlock the damn thing.
At this point I cant even get into windows anymore.
Now ofcourse I want this rom removed from my phone, but is that even possible when I cant boot it into windows??
I need to have an USB connection to put on another rom, so is that possible without windows?
Thanks for your help!
I got the same problem. anybody help us?
I had a problem with an earlier version of this ROM, and the fix turned out to be quite simple.
I flashed my stock ROM back on and then re-flashed BOGYSOFT, ever since then been no problems what so ever.
I had flashed a few different ROM's to try before this it's possible I suppose that there may of been some corruption with repeated flashing.
I think the hardspl is affecting the phone's stability, cause returned back to the stock after flashing some cooked roms and it's bad more than before.....
any news?

Yes but dont you need to acces the phones internal storage to add a new rom?
Cause I dont know how to do that when I'm not even able to acces windows.
Anybody?
Is my phone bricked or is there a way to connect to the internal storage without WM?
Now it doesnt even boot the rom anymore,
The image has even dissapeared from my internal storage.
It is now stuck in the Bootloader telling me to trigger the USB host.
Any ideas?
My Diamond has been pretty unreliable over the last couple of days, but I used MTTY to format the internal flash, loaded the latest Gen.Y ROM (I don't think it really matters which ROM tho) and now it works perfectly again. Plus to me it seems a bit faster. Anyway I couldn't be happier.
If you can get into the bootloader with USB I'd certainly give the instructions in this flash a go (post 3 or 4 only if you're on Windows XP).

thanks mate!

Please Help! xperia is stuck on Bootload mode!

hey guys, few days back i strung the courage torgether to flash rom.
everything was going well till i noticed that my xperia was updating the rom and seemed to take forever to load the rom.
at present it switches itself on and off and says continuing to update rom and then a white screen with blue text says loading.
I need to find a solution to this as if i tell my dad that the device is cooked im in deep, and i also do not have insurance of which was a dull thing.
so please any suggestions and tips whould be much appriciated ty. x
I am no expert. But have you HardSPL your phone before flashing the ROM? That is a requirement.
For the current prob, I can imagine taking out your SDcard (if you are using card method) should stop it from reading the image. You prob have to hard reset the device for it to boot properly.
hey thanks for reply,
Iv tried removing the sd card but to no evail, when i do this the xperia is stuck at the bootload mode and says continuing to update rom, my battery has drained so i cnt switch the phone on, it has to be dne when on the charger.
and a hard rest does nt work.
Did you HardSPL? If not, you will need to do that first.
Anyway found few threads on it.
