I downloaded the Official Herald WM6 NB0 file and used that as a base ROM for my kitchen, but it refuses to finish installing the ROM. It just hangs there for hours... I thought that you could use their ROMs alternatively, since the Wing and the Herald are the same device, more or less. What am I doing wrong? It was originally an nb0 file, which I just renamed to os.nb. Then, I tried to cook that ROM into the Touch-IT os.nb file and that just froze at the loading screen and after a few minutes would give me an error that it had lost power and warned me not to turn off the device while it's booting up. I tried it with the XIP for the Touch-IT ROM and it didn't boot again.
I need some help... I should have tried to install the os.nb0 into my WING before I spent all that time stripping the ROM...
Did you finally get this to work? I'm really interested
Unfortunately not. I ended up using Touch-IT as a base again for my kitchen because I didn't have the time to mess around with this.

Flashing goes ok, but when all files are loaded, phone just resets and starts all over again.

Whenever you flash a new rom your phone will automatically reboot and start up again. The phone will need to be setup again with date/time etc but connections etc should automatically setup itself.
This is similar to a hard reset as everything has been wiped from phone apart from OS and whatever you had stored on SD Card
Once setup go to Settings > System and it should state which rom you have installed

When finished loading files, it starts over as you says, but then rom starts loading again. its like it hard resets all the time instead of just resetting..

Ah, right. Apologies. Now I understand your problem better.
Had you ever successfully flashed a rom? Or has thius always happened with a cooked rom?

You can better ask it in L26 ROM topic, but I know that Laurentius ROM (2.3 or 2.4) KEEPS hardresseting automatically due to bugs in his cooked rom. After 2 or 3 times automatic HR it stops....

Ok, sounds like a hardware problem to me. I've had only automatic Hard Resets with L26's Rom. No problems with Kwbr or Dutty's roms.
Try flashing via USPL and tell us how it goes.
had same problem with l26 rom will never use laurentius rom's again, dutty's and miri's roms are the best

Anyway, take a look into you SD Card through you PC...is there a folder named "sdconfig.txt"?...if so, take a look into this "sdconfig.txt" and, please, tell what is written into it...

i Download the HTC Fuze ROM Update- Version 5.11.502.2 WWE
after i flashed it and booted it, initial setup was taking place... it said it was setting up touchFLO. everything looked good.
until...
it just rebooted!
and it keeps cycling that way. it never gets to load windows.
i have read that other people have been having trouble with touchflo after the update... but now i cant even get windows to load.

I've been at this for two nights, and no success. I've tried a gazillion cooked variations of the rom, I've task29'd until my eyes bled ... nothing.
I've also ran MANY roms on my TMobile TP2, and I've been cooking with Visual Kitchen since it came out on both my old Fuze and now the TMO TP2.
My TP2 is HardSPLd, its also carrier unlocked. I have ran 6.1 and 6.5 roms, both stock and cooked myself.
Here is the issue I desperately need help with on the S2 version of the TP2 ROM:
If I flash any rom, winmo 6.1 or 6.5, stock or cooked by a chef (like NRGZ28 or Jackos for examples) or cooked by me, the phone works, right now.
If I flash the HTC_Europe_2.07.401.1 ROM as-is (stock, signed RUU, signed RUU installer) the phone works and loads.
BUT:
If i dump that rom into the kitchen, cook it AS-IS with ZERO mods, and load it on the device, when the orange 'percentage' progress bar on the bottom of the Windows screen gets to the end, the bar stops and never moves again.
The version of windows never shows.
For goodness' sake, WHAT AM I MISSING HERE? HELP!
Again: Just to verify the kitchen, I have dumped and cooked other roms, so I know the kitchen is good, as well as my procedure (Dump, exit, re-enter in the dump directory, click Rhodium, click other, set the pagepool to 16 or whatever, close, save as an .erv file, load the .erv file, then cook.) ...which works for the stock 6.1 Europe rom, for the stock 6.1 TMO rom, for the original stock 6.5 Europe rom, and the 6.5 TMO rom (have tested all four stock, and all four dumped and recompiled tonight).
No matter what, it seems that my phone + S2 cooked by me wont get past the first cycle of the darned little orange bar. I hate that bar now.

I had the same issue (nightrider edition) and changed the kitchen back to basic. Problem is now solved so i think it must be related in some reg keys or app.dat files. I use some MOD's from anther kitchen (M-ROM) and then i get the same problems.
i'am now "running" a 5.2.23568 ROM to test. after some days i will add some "new" mods in it so i can see where we face some problems.
recmod Concurrence_mgr and I think Notification_enhancement.. ervius does not dump those two packages properly or something

I have bought the VPA Compact from a friend in Germany, but I would like to use some italian ROMs, because on the device there was a bepi German ROM with WM5.
So I decided to change ROM; I found the HardSPL, but I didn't care about the fact that the Olipro HardSPL was not installed yet.
Then I putted on the device two italian ROMs, and all seemed ok, because I have installed Claros 3.51 ROM and another one with WM6.1, with also a new RADIO 1.46.11 (or 1.46.10).
Three days ago I saw on Internet about the possibility to put into my device a WM 6.1 Elegance ROM by eLIas, so, ignoring that I need to have Olipro HardSPL, I started to put the WM 6.1 Elegance, but the flashing has not finished well.
In that time, I didn't lost my courage, and I started to use MTTY and I found that there were some blocks corrupted.
Then I tried to flash ROM by miniSD card: neither in this way I reached the goal to put a working ROM on my device; because I tried to put old WM5 italian, Claros 3.51 ROM, some HardSPL (1.04 and 1.1).
So, I ask you if there's some possibility to recover the device and put some ROM, or I need to throw it into the basket?
Hope that someone will answer me.
I wanna say two more things:
everytime I try to flash by WinXP, there is an error (260) from the application utility.
When I try to put a new ROM, the device is turning off after only 1% of progress, and when I try to put an HardSPL, the progress reach 100% and the device is turning off, but I don't see any new change...

I'm a newbie and i'm having problems with hardspl'-ing my device. I bought it used and it has touch-it on but i'd like to use an other. I'm using the hardspl that's "recommended" by trib and it identify my device's version and write what will it put up. but when it starts it stays at 0% for about 30 seconds then writes 202(connection) or 246(device not responding) error.
Can anyone help how could i hard spl my device?
First identify if your phone is the Tmobile Wing or the HTC Herald.
Next download either one of the original shipped ROMs from HERE.
Run the .exe file while plugged into the computer.
Download the HardSPL folder and follow the directions in the folder.
Now you should be able to flash custom ROMs.
