For some reason my home plug in freezes only when I click on the mail icon. The text message icon takes me to the text screen and the rest work ok. The bug is so serious I have to take the battery off if I dont shut it down in 5 to 10 secs from freeze. Can anyone help me? I have a mogul ppc 6800. Factory Rom I did not update it with sprints patch.

when I hut the End button to shut off the scree, or even the Lock command, the screen seems to turn back on a mili-second later. sometimes I can get it to shut down , but then when I miss a call or something, it lights back up and stays lit up forever.

Known issue. Set backlight to 40% or more....
I was wondering what was the problem with my 750v power not shutting down
after upgrading to wm6 and spent some time uninstalling some programs I thought may be affecting this. In the end it is just a bug. Great that I came here to search for this.
I'm maybe just being stupid - but I can't get my diamond to vibrate when I get a text. I think I've set it correct, but its not working.
Using TouchFlo - I go into "Settings", then "Sound".
I press "Advanced", and then choose the "Notifications" tab.
From the "Event" drop down list I select "Messaging: new Text Message"
Then I tick the "Vibrate" box.
Is there something else I need to do?!
BTW - my ROM version is 1.37 if thats relevant
If you mean that your phone should 'wake up' and vibrate when you receive an SMS, then have a look at the 3rd point from the link below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398265
If it won't vibrate at all, and only will make a sound I don't know the answer. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately it won't vibrate at all on receiving an SMS.
Even if the phone is awake and I get a message it does nothing apart from a little green 1 appears on the messaging icon - and the directional pad light flashes.
The other thing I've noticed when testing this is that the phone takes about 5 seconds to actually start 'ringing' when getting a call!

Yep ive noticed that on mine as well...im running 1.37 rom uk spec diamond and it takes a good few seconds before my phone will ring when i have an incoming call. Annoying but liveable i guess..also my phone wont vibrate either when receiving a text as well...just get the alert and notification.

Mmm, bummer... Just tested it with my phone. I previously used the 'wake on SMS' edit, and now selected 'vibrate' and unchecked the sound alert for Messaging: New text message. It worked like a charm.

Same here, even with my previous HTC Wizard. I guess it has to do with WM devices in general!?
Hmmm... now I've just realised that my phone doesnt chime or anything when I get a text - despite me having a tone set.
I tried a soft reset - but this did nothing. I dont really want to try a hard reset as I will lose all my proggies etc.
I've maybe give the tweak above a try!
I've tried the above tweak, but I'm still having no success.
I'm getting absolutely no alert at all when i get a text message. With the tweak, the phone comes out of standby and the screen displays the message - but it won't chime or vibrate at all.
Any ideas?
A phone that won't alert me of a text is no use as most of my communication is through texting!
Finally resorted to a hard reset - which solved the problem.
Spent the last few hours reinstalling everything!!
Now time to make a sprite backup whilst I have everything sorted!
Hello everyone. I have had my Droid Bionic since day one and I have never had an issue with it. It has been wonderful.
Until today. I am on the stock OS. I had a Live Wallpaper that showed a little Android figure that melts based on the percentage of my battery. I went into my Gallery and clicked on "Set As Wallpaper" on an image I took with my camera on the phone.
At the bottom of the phone, a small popup showed up that said "COMPLETED". When I went to the home screen, there was no wallpaper in the background. It was just black, though the icons were still there and it was responsive. I thought maybe the image was corrupt, so I went and tried another image.
This caused the phone to reboot. When it rebooted, there was a notification bar, the time, the lock screen, and a thing that said No Signal. I tried to unlock it, but the phone was unresponsive.
Then I got a text message, even though I had no signal. The notification light was blinking. I could not unlock the phone. I hit the sleep button, and it went to sleep. I tried hitting it again, and it would not wake up.
I tried pulling the battery and putting it back in, and now it won't properly boot. Right when it boots, it goes to sleep (the little shutdown animation). I texted myself from my sister's phone and the notification light blinks, the phone vibrates, and the screen turns on and shows I have a text on the notification bar. The screen and the buttons are completely unresponsive, however.
I tried calling myself from my home line and I could pick up the call just fine and end the call. I could not, however, go back to the home screen while on the call. The capacitive buttons on the bottom were completely unresponsive. When I hung up the call (by touch), it went to a completely black screen with the notification bar showing that I had some text messages and the time and my service, etc.
I have rebooted the phone five times now by removing the battery and it keeps going to this. I have never rooted the phone (I wouldn't even know how to) and I am concerned because of all of the information that I have saved on the phone.
Yes I have tried removing the SD card. Didn't help.
Any suggestions? :/
UPDATE: Now the phone doesn't even boot, it gets stuck at the Red Eye spinning logo. It vibrates twice and the notification light begins blinking, meaning it is letting me know that I have received text messages... but it isn't actually booting to the Android home screen. Really strange...
You should fxz back to stock
It will wipe your application data but not you're sdcard info or internal storage
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Hard reset using all three external buttons
Try doing a hard reset - it's one of those things they only tell you about at the Verizon store when you're stuck:
Once you have the phone on and at least responsive, press and hold BOTH volume keys, then hold the power button down for 10 seconds (it's really about 6, but 10 will do it for sure). This procedure can also be done to force a reboot when you load a gnarly application that sux and locks your phone up - without having to disassemble everything and pull the battery.
Hopefully with any luck, you're phone will do a back-flip and come up!
Hello xda
I've got a problem with my i9000 with stock ROM.
Sometimes when I close an app, the icons on my homescreen keeps blinking. I mean they disapear and apear all over again in loop. I can't even open menu.
Sometimes it stops after few minutes but sometimes I have to reboot my phone to get it work normal again.
Do you know what's the problem and how to solve it?
Thank you in advance.
Greetings from Poland and sorry for my bad English.

Hi,
from time to time I had similar issue: When I closed a call the contact list stayed open and could not be closed (with the BACK button). I think it was due to the fact that the phone did not have enough memory available. I had to kill some processes (press and hold the HOME button). have you tried killing some processes when having these blinking icons?
Yes i still have the exact same problem! Does anyone know how to fix this?!
