Using the standard HTC ROM.
Ok, I've set up an e-mail account on the phone that is working fine. If I need to, how do I delete this account? I can no way to do this and there's a distinct lack of info in the manual on how to delete this sort of thing - plenty on how to set it up!
Regards and thanks

While in TouchFLO 3D move across to the EMAIL icon. Push the MENU option in the bottom right of the screen. Select ACCOUNTS and then ACCOUNTS. This will bring you to the MESSAGING screen which shows you SMS / MMS at the top, then any email accounts you have then SETUP EMAIL.
Move down using the dpad (hardware buttons) and when you have highlighted the account you wish to delete press the MENU option in the bottom right of the screen and choose DELETE.
Remember use the Dpad to highlight the email account you wish to delete. If you use your finger you will more than likely open the email account instead of just highlighting it.
Many thanks tomchap. The collective knowledge and experience on the www is amazing.

What if the account does not exist?
Ok, but what happens if the account is not listed there? I used Sprite Backup to backup the data on my old TyTN then tried to restore it on the Raphael. On the Mail tab of the TouchFlow the email account is listed (it appears as "PDA - Email" - just as it was named on the TyTN) - but I can not open any message and I can not delete the account either - because it is not listed.
Any ideas?
Delete Email
Try this mate....I also search high low...until i found this...
Already had that issue myself and solved it here:

FINALLY! I've been looking too. Tried other non-working solutions. I am a very happy man,. Thankyouthankyouthankyou. (Bows)
Thanks a lot, had this problem as well!
OK, this is probably a silly question, but I can't figure it out for the life of me.
I have set up a mail account to Gmail. In that account I'm forwarding some other accounts of mine, so it gets pretty crowded.
What I would like to do is delete messages from my phone but NOT from Gmail.
Outlook Mobile offers two choices, as far as I can see: when deleting messages either
Move them to server trash, or
Delete them off the server.
Neither of those suits me. I only want to delete them from the bloody phone.
A further restriction is that I like to use my mail from TF3D, and therefore would rather not having to install another mail client unless TF3D can somehow be coerced into working with it.
Oh, and in case you wonder - I don't sync my mail with the desktop Outlook. I'm using Gmail more and more...
Thank you all for your help.
have you tried both options, and seen what the effect on the server inbox is?
ive thought of this before, and it annoyed me greatly, but i cant remember the solution. plus, we all know how wm doesnt word things correctly.
rory
err... sorry.. duplicate post.. don't know why
Tap on mail (touch flo)
Inbox
Menu-Tools-options
Tap on Gmail
(setting should open up now)
Hit 'Edit Account Setup'
Click on next next next next next
(hide key board on Automatic Send/Receive screen)
Hit 'Advanced Settings'
When deleting messages: (drop down menu)
You can set it there to not delete the messages from the server
Hope this helps

Thank you for your answer. However, I only have the two options described in my first post. Can you see a third option there?
err.. oops. Just checked again
I could have sworn it was there!
Sorry mate. guess that was on the P1 or something.. not sure.
This might not be a feasible solution, but ... just a thought..
You could set it to keep the messages only for the last 4 or 5 days..
that way, they won't be on your phone, but will be on your server.
A POSSIBLE workaround.. definitely not a solution
Here is what I configured to use the diamond without loss of messages during their removal :
I created a special e-mail address to use with my mobile phone, like [email protected].
And I set up a redirect additional for all my messages to it.
Now, I can delete all my messages without erasing the ones on my main account.
Try to go to "tools" - "option". Click the account you need to edit. Click "send/receive schedule" - "advance settings" - "when deleting messages" dropdown menu.....

Same thing. Just the two options.
Delete from Server.. or Move to Server Trash
OK, I think I've got it. It all boils down to the fact that the default Gmail setup is IMAP. If you change that to POP3 (using the instructions from Gmail) you will be able to delete your mails on the phone only.
It would be nice if someone could confirm this. It certainly seems to be working for me.
EDIT: WORKS! I get "Keep them on server" now.
The problem is related to the gmail server own rules. I have just made a test account and there is no "keep on server" option on the WM mail client. On my other account (my own domain/server) there is no problem.
You could use another mail provider (hotmail, live) for example.

Turns out it actually is IMAP vs POP3. While IMAP is generally better, when you do something locally (on the phone) it is as if it was done on the server (a disadvantage in this case).
The key is to fool Diamond into not recognizing Gmail, which means giving the address as [email protected]gm.com, then put all the POP3 settings.
On the other hand, I've noticed it will only download the unread messages...
After upgrading to 1.93: No "advanved" tab in phone options, Push-email setting lost
Hi,
I have successfully upgraded the ROM of my unbranded Diamond to 1.93 using the German ROM file downloaded directly from htc.com. Everything went Ok, the phone is well and faster as before. However I notice the following things:
a.) In the Phone options (on the phone page, tap menu->options) I have all tabs from Phone (leftmost), Services, Network, etc. etc. and Others (rightmost) but next to that the "Advanced" tab is supposed to be there --- but it is not! (Of course the German version should show this tab as "Erweitert").
b.) Before the upgrade there was a "Microsoft Push e-mail" setting in the TFL3D settings page. This is not there anymore.
Any ideas anyone?
BTW: Can anyone point me to a page describing how to get push-email going with my diamond using a free push-email provider on the internet? Thanks.
Cheers // Tom
a) see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=429823
b) Advanced Config - Menu - More Settings - Comm Manager
Deselect something you don't need (so much) and select Push mail
Thanks a lot -- works flawlessly.
Where can I configure Microsoft Direct Push, though? I can't find that?
Thanks // Tom
Open Program Advanced Config (version 3.2)
Select Menu (left bottom)
Select More Settings
Select Comm Manager
Select button style ON/OFF buttons
Then you can select 6 choices
One of the choices is Microsoft Direct Push
OK
Done
Softreset
Ok - got it now.
A related question: I want to use GMX Push Mail using IMAP IDLE.
I've configured the account on the Touch Diamond but how can I enable IMAP IDLE on my Touch Diamond so that it doesn't disconnect the IMAP session and stay connected and immediately get newly arriving e-mails?
Thanks // Tom
Oh - and when I have multiple e-mail accounts, where can I select which e-mail account is the default for the TF3D display?
BTW: I love my Touch Diamond!
Tom
The default email account is the first one you add. The amount of unread emails is an aggregate of all your accounts in TouchFLO 3D.
About the push email, haven't used GFX, but with Exchange you just set Activesync sync schedule to 'As items Arrive' which turns on push email. Sorry I can't help more than that!
Ok, thanks but ain't there a way to change the e-mail account which is used for display in Touchflo 3D?
As for push-email. The HTC e-mail client is said to support IMAP IDLE, however I cannot find any setting related to that?
Any other ideas anyone?
Thanks again everybody for your help.
Cheers // Tom

I'm not sure what you mean, as 'multiple' email account can be shown in TouchFLO 3D? Once you set up more than one, you can click the little icons and the envelope will flip over to show you the next account? And like I said, the first account you set up is the one that is shown first on the mail tab. I'm sorry if I'm misunderstanding your question.

Ok, I was misunderstanding the Mail page in Touchflo 3D. I did not see the little e-mail account selection icons on the right border of the screen. I have my old GMX account on the top now and my new GMX Push account on the bottom and can select between the two.
Now the only thing left is the IMAP IDLE setting which I cannot find.
As a related question: GMX requires particular SSL ports to be used for sending/receiving mails. Where can I configure the mail server SSL ports?
Thanks everybody // Tom
Hello folks,
I just installed the Gmail Java app. It works fine but I have problem reading the messages !!
The diamond as a excellent VGA screen but the gmail app displays the message with no zoom, as if it was a QVGA screen (works great on a HTC Cruise).
Does anybody know how to increase the text siez of the gmail app ?
Thanks in advance.
See the attachef picture and image reading it on a 2.8" screen...
why java app for gmail?
if you want, you can configure an account email on diamond for gmail, and in settings of the gmail prefs on the web, you can configure the pop account for receive the mail in your mail client.
works fine, i just use this configuration, also for 4 different account.

With the Java client you can use all the search functionality of Gmail. No offline client would give you this option, except you download all your mail (up to 7GB currently) to your device.
That's what makes Gmail different from all other mail providers. All IMAP or POP access turns Gmail into an account like any other. The difference is in the search all mail functionality. You'll never understand this until you used it.

Thank you for the tip : I used it, but it's not fast as the java app... and the search functionality is awesome...
Furthermore, gmail handles my 6 personal mail accounts : I use the label / archive functionality.
But I tested the IMAP WM6 client : he does not retrieve correctly all the subfolders of gmail... gmail or WM6 issue ?? I don't have issues with outlook 2003 ou entourage in IMAP config...
gmail IMAP with the wm6 client is useful if you use it in "push" mode (always on).
I guess if google can't provide a client that's readable in VGA you will have to use your web browser.
yep... I think I'm going to stick to that...
I'll send a feedback to google on this issue...
Cheers.
Problem solved !
Hello, i finally managed to find my answer !
I installed the US version version on gmail java 1.5 !
it has an option to enlarge the text.
See the pict.
I've been using the gmail java client with the "large font" switch on for quite some time. But the fonts are still too small, especially when you are walking.
I'm using JBed, what jvm are you using?
Hi!
I'm using the HTC embedded java machine (Esmertec Jbed). My ROM is a genuine HTC rom.
But you're right, even with "Large Font" option, the text is very small...
Cheers.
Search here for Esmertec Jbed new version , so u can define the font size in the registry
I've been using java gmail for a while, but I just switched to real onlie gmail, which happens to be better and faster, in my opinion.

I've did a search, but can't seem to find my answer.
I have an exchange email and hotmail setup, running 6.1 without touchflow/sense (it's more fluid and stable on the x1 IMO). I have S2U2 lock screen because it ties in nicely with S2P.
So my question is, when I enable email notification on S2U2, and I "slide to view" the email, I wanted it to open up the specific email inbox and not the email itself. Is that possible?
I've done some parameter research for tmail.exe which might do the job, but I don't think it will do what I wanted to:
tmail.exe
-service "email"
Since that parameter does not actually specify the inbox location, would it work?
Anyone able to help me out?
