TyTN II Dial-up problems - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I'm trying to set up a dial-up isp connection, but each time I set the username and password, the PDA resets the password when I tap finish.
Any solutions?

Wing, WiFi and http proxies

Folks,
I have a US TMobile Wing, WM6, and I am having problems with WiFi connections that use proxies. At work, we use a corporate HTTP proxy to access the internet.
The wing settings are as follows, WiFi connects to work, My Work Network has the proxy server set in the Advanced tab. I have been looking in the registry of the device (under HKLM\Comm\ConnManager\Providers\{7C4B...}), and as soon as the WiFI connects, the HTTP proxy I set gets marked as a null proxy (type 0). When the WiFi disconnects, the proxy entry in the registry is returned to its original type 1 (HTTP).
Anyone has any idea what I can do to prevent the proxy from being changed by the WiFi application? Is there a way to get hold of the WiFi connection application from a WM5 device to try it out?
Thanks in advance

WiFi and GPRS conflict on my Tytn II I need Help

I am no longer able to connect to the Internet via my home WiFi network. I am able to WiFi connect to the network without any problems, but when I try to use any application that accesses the Internet the phone looks for a GRPS connection. I do not have a data account attached to my sim as I live in Australia, and as far as that sort of thing go, we are a backwater…
The WiFi connection and access was previously working fine until I tried to disable the GPRS from trying to connect, as this would routinely bring up messages informing me that a GPRS connection could not be made. I do not know what settings I have changed but I cannot seem to reverse the situation.
I have soft reset a number of times, I have re-run the connection wizard, etc my current settings are as follows:
WiFi:
Wireless
Configure Wireless Networks –
.MyWirelessNetwork Connected
Configure Wireless Network-
Network Name: MyWirelessNetwork
Connects By: The Internet
This is a hidden network: unchecked
Configure Wireless Authentication-

Enter a name for the connection: Vodafone Internet
Select a Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)

Proxy Settings-
The network connects to the internet: checked
This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet: unchecked
My Work Network
No connections have been set up here

Select Networks
Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using: Vodafone Internet Settings
Programs that automatically connect to a Private network should connect using: My Work Network

I do not know if this is all the info need to sort this out, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have done allot of customising and I really don't want to have to a Hard Reset. I can connect through all applications, if I am connected by USB.
Thanks
First you need to make sure your connection is set to use My Work Network as first priority. Next you need to make sure that the WiFi connection connects to WORK NOT the INTERNET. probably your problem, did the same thing on my 8125

Hi there,
Can someone please help by advising me on how to overcome this problem.
If I broadcast my SSID, the device connects fine, but when I stop broadcasting, the device will show that the network is unavailable. I did check the "This is a hidden network" checkbox option, in the settings.
Configure Wireless Network-
Network Name: MyWirelessNetwork
Connects By: Work
This is a hidden network: CHECKED
Configure Wireless Authentication-

Please help,... many thanks!
Kind regards,

US 3G (AT&T) Connection (Exchange) Woes

I just got a Diamond, put in my AT&T SIM, and let it automatically set up the connection for me. It set me up using wap.cingular. This delivers very fast internet, BUT, it won't stay connected to my exchange server for more than a few minutes (I have it set to sync as items arrive, and leave activesync always open on the phone). I tried doing a hard reset, then manually entering my settings (isp.cingular, [email protected], etc.) which works for exchange (it stays connected) , but when i run speed tests I end up only getting about 200k. Any ideas?
anyone with the DIamond on AT&T
Is there anyone else out there with a Diamond on AT&T using an exchange server connection? If so, would you mind sharing your data connection settings?
I am using the stock setup for AT&T. All I had to do was turn off the proxy server and it works fine.
do you use an exchange server connection? When you say you use the default setup, do you use wap.cingular or isp.cingular?
You shouldn't see either if you let auto setup configure the exchange server for you. The auto setup will check proxy server for you in the process. You should then be on MEdia net
(modem tab), with wireless.cingular appearing in the dimed box for name of the proxy server.
found the setting, I changed it and will report how it works. Thanks

the auto setup will turn the proxy for medianet on, since it's needed for it to send mms.

WLAN Problem Diamond

ok, first of all, i checked every single thread on this page hoping to get a solution for my problem.
HTC Diamond, D-Link DWL-900AP+ Access Point.
My Diamond can "see" the Access Point, but is unable to connect with it.
Authentification WPA-PSK
Encryption TKIP
Networkkey Manually inserted and 100% correct.
Hook set at IEEE802.1x
EAP Typ = Smartcard or security certificate (but it's greyed out)
Network Card connects to Internet
From Server given IP Adress (hook set) DHCP on Access Point enabled
MAC Filters disabled
I also played around with the available network tabs.
I have vodafone DE, vodafone internet, company network or ISP
The the slider of the energy saving modus ist set to best performance.
What the hell is going wrong????
I also owe a HTC Touch Elfin and have no problems to access my network/internet.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated
thank you
try deleting your network saved setting from list, make sure network card connects to internet, not work, find access point, and enter your password again.
this works for me in similar situations.
works if you start fresh, and not trying to connect with the same settings. i dont know why but has saved my ass a few times.
Also, try changing the encryption from TKIP to AES and see if that works....
I have the same problem! It's something about DHCP. My Diamond connects to my home wifi onli if I set the IP (which belongs to my phone on access point) address in the properties of network adapter.
HI did you try to put the host address of a site?
write 64.233.167.99 instead of google.it in case you can see the page the problem is the dns not resolved and insert manually in your phone connection

Same here, it looks like a DHCP time-out or routing problem. I've set up a DHCP server with a small pool of adresses on the acces point itself and now my Diamond always connects correctly. Before that, my Diamond would state that i had entered a invalid security key.
diamond connects but i cannot visit any website
Hi,
I have a similar problem. My diamond gets an ip address from dhcp, connects to dwl-900ap+ but i am not able to open any website (I tried to open some web with url and with its ip address too) - tried opera and IE too. In opera i get a "could not locate remote server" error. (Looks like a DNS problem?) I am not even able to open the AP's configuration web with diamond. Every other wifi enabled equipment I tried (1 notebook with win vista, 1 with XP, 1 with debian linux, nokia n95 with symbian and e-ten m700 with win mobile 5) works without a single problem. I also tried to reset the AP and my diamond - without success.
I didn't change any setting on the AP except for setting up a WEP encryption (i know, i know, it's not a strong encryption ), the SSID and the AP's ip address. Everything else is default. My dhcp server is not the access point. DHCP runs on a similarly configured router with wifi AP (diamond connects without problem).
Any idea/solution? thanks
