$ Touch Commander = no key - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I was just woundering if any one else has had my problem? Payed for program on 11/28. Today is the 2 od. and still no key.

Why are you posting here? Contact the company.
What a worthless thread.

When info is worthless?
Im Posting here because other people have the same devices. and I thought they might like to know that if they purchase touch commander they may have the same problem. and I have contacted (everyday requesting a valid key BUT THEY will not respond). That why it's here.

No Key
I am having the same problem. No replies to emails. It's the best cube I have found so far.

Cant paste telephone numbers on dialpad or dial from within e-mail calendar??

Anyone been able to work a fix for this? WM 6 would underline numbers in received e-mail, calendar etc etc one could dial the numbers directly from within the mail?
The paste function has also been removed from the dialpad
ROM 1.37.421.3
This thread has an interesting solution.

Surur
this is bugging me bigtime!
im going try change the phone skin to the old wm6 version with advanced config, seeing as the function was there before on older phones then it should work here too.
can someone provide a solution??
The same problem for me.
I realized that when you have the status opened (it opens while you are talking) in the menu you have the paste option... but it is useless.
I also want to paste some numbers in the phone to call them... it is very annoying not to have this option (sometimes I need to copy also some numbers from internet pages... but now it is impossible!!!).
Can someone help?!?
Thnx.
Urosh
Hi Surur,
Good one thx for the link, i think this was a serious oversight from MS, this is the one reason i would chuck the phone.
So far i have enjoyed the phone, i think it works well, but as i said its virtually useless if you cant paste numbers on the dialpad.
This limitation is really annoying me now; and still, a month down the line it's the only unforgivable problem I have with this otherwise fantastic little phone.
I was hoping it was a simple oversight, and would have been fixed by now. Has any of the later ROMs addressed the issue? If not, has anyone came up with a solution, or at least a realistic work around that doesn't involve pen and paper?
for over 3 years i am using a dialer "contact breeze".
the dialer himself is also of value but i am reinstalling it each time only for this tweak. long press anywhere in a meeting or task and it will offer any of the telephone numbers in it. no need of any other spaces, tlf:, etc. just type the number and it will be offered for dialing after a long press. the prog cost a few $. it worth it!
Thanks, sounds like a usable work around, I'll check it out.
Still hoping for a real solution though... Anyone?

WebIS PocketInformant - Fullscreen trouble - Support Genius at work

Hey guys, just wanted to share my WebIS support experience with you
I bought WebIS PocketInformant some time ago, and now installed it on my Diamond. When you switch the software to full screen, the menu is gone, and its impossible to get it back even after a restart, or soft-reset.
I go on the web and search, check the manual, their support site and FAQ, but cannot find anything. The only things I found is that some of the buttons should switch it off, and a restart of the software, which is not the case on the diamond.
So since I was not able to switch off the full screen I send a support request to WebIS:
WM Hardware: HTC Diamond - WM6Professional
Desktop OS: Windows XP
Version: Pocket informant 8.02
Synch Software: ActiveSync 4.5
Issue:
Hi,
I am unable to turn off Full-screen mode in PI 8.02
None of the buttons in the front work (home, ok, red/green phone, 4 irections, OK)
Restarting (reset) of the device does not work either...

They answered quite quickly:
Greetings and thank you for contacting us.
This is actually a common question and as such we have created a knowledgebase article that goes into greater detail for your benefit.
Here is the knowledgebase link:
http://kb.webis.net/
Please let us know if that does not resolve the issue.
We appreciate having the opportunity to help and service you. Please let us know if there is anything more we can do.

Strange. I thought I checked that one. I am going back there, and filter the search for PocketInformant and windows Mobile, and not one single question/Answer regarding the "Full Screen" mode.
So I write back:
Hi,
I have searched the knowledge base several times already before sending you this email but could not find any answer there.
I searched there for "screen" (13 answers, all something else) and browsed all the 40 Pocket informant Windows Mobil questions, but no help either.
Please be so kind to point me to the correct KB entry instead of the main page or simply tell me how to fix this via email.

And they reply, one day later:
Greetings and thank you for contacting us.
You've either hidden the tabs, or the left soft key assignment needs to be changed, FYI.
We appreciate having the opportunity to help and service you. Please let us know if there is anything more we can do.

Ok, let's see.... I do not have that software button however. and I did not hide the tabs, I just clicked on "Full screen" in the menu. And where is that FAQ entry now?
So I write back:
Dear Customer service,
thank you for that information. It does not help me to fix the problem though.
How do I unhide the "tabs"?
The device does not have a left soft key.
http://www.htc.com/www/product.aspx?id=46278
Can you please show me a way how to fix this, such as a registry entry or maybe reinstalling the software?
I still could not find you FAQ entry. Does it exist??
thanks

This time, the answer takes two days to reach me:
Greetings and thank you for contacting us.
Did you try changing the left soft key assignment? That is the FAQ you need, FYI.

So I go to the advanced search and filter for Pocket Informant, windows Mobile and search for "Soft key" - nothing.
I write back:
Did you read my last email?
I assume that with soft keys you talk about a blank hardware button that has its function assigned by the software?
My device does not have soft keys!
http://www.htc.com/www/product.aspx?id=46278
The device only has a home, return/exit , call, hang up and direction/OK keys.
Also, your FAQ does not say HOW to change that key in case it exists. You also do not mention which registry editor to use.
It does not mention the full screen issue in one word either, how is one supposed to find it?
This is one of the worst support cases I ever had.

How is that supposed to help? Isn't that what I was asking for since the beginning? that they help me with the problem?
By now I did a hard reset and reinstalled the software.
Of course, I am not touching the full screen button again. And I am not contacting their support again for troubles either.
Clearly, the Diamond has a disadvantage in applications that rely on the soft buttons to work. There should be a tool to simulate the buttons with the volume buttons or else to fix that.
I've just had a look on their forum and this seems similar to your problem (and they recommend a reg edit solution)
see post 2 http://www.pocketinformant.com/Forums/index.php?showtopic=12917
Hope this works for you
thanks for the help and pointing this out to me.
Maybe you could post back here if the reg edit works? It might help someone else with the same problem or considering whether to buy the application.
well... I fixed it before with a hard-reset and currently I do not plan to use the full screen anymore since only regedit can undo it, and thats simply too complicated. If I try it and it does not work, I have to hard-reset the device again.
But the thread you have from the WebIS the person had it fixed through it, so I assume it should work
I had this issue on my Touch Dual, using a hardware button (like camera) takes it out of fullscreen mode...
Their support was pretty useless for me also, I found the answer on another forum...
A solution for the Diamond is to assign your Send key (Button 1(hold)) as <Left Softkey>.
Yeah, our support guy has been a bit flaky lately. Honestly I think he just got tired of things after seven years. Must be why he resigned at the end of July. I'm sorry that that happened - though. Unfortunately it doesn't make real-world sense to use other buttons like volume control to get out of full screen mode. The Diamond is just not a good full screen mode device without some sort of gestures or other method to get out of it.
I'll definitely be looking for a way to add a button or something as a way to get out of full screen.
Reg edit
The regedit works on the Diamond.
I've exported the PI-registry, edited the "FullScreen"=dword:00000001
into "FullScreen"=dword:00000000
and imported the registry ==> problem solved

Request: Any dialer program for blind person?

I got this ATT tilt one month ago. And want to set it up for one relative who is nearly blind but not deaf. So I am looking for a dialer program that can read any number key being pressed (e.g. one for 1) and repeat (pronounce) the whole number (e.g. 18006543210) when the call key is pressed. If the program can also read out the number that called in, then it will be perfect.
I guess these may not be hard for experienced programmer. Probably changing some sound files (.wav) may have this work. But I'm a newbie who know very little about programming for mobile phones.
If you know any solution, please let me know. Thanks a lot.
well...
I just did a software called DTMF Dialer, that does not do the same, but I guess I could hack it to dial the real number and say the numbers as confirmation, I am not a super duper C# coder but I think I can do it, if you are interested im me.
Microsoft Voice command is no good? One can simply call out the numbers to dial and it'll ask for confirmation.

I agree with telegraph. Ms Voice command reads out the numbers as a confirmation, it also announces who is calling when a call is comming in.
For anyone who might be interested take a look at the link below. ATT is offering a deal for Mobile Speak to assist people with visual impairments for $89. The program usually costs a LOT more, so it is a great deal. Funny that I have not been able to find information on this on ATTs site...

I do not whether this wil help- I use Sony Ericsson p990i - with it and P1 - one can dial by pressing the bluetooth button and say the contact's name of-course your sister should record it first (you must help her with that). The other positive thing is if a call comes in and it is in the contacts - then the caller/recorded name will be played back. I am also trying to help a blind guy - [email protected]

Area code

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right forum...
I am looking for a program that would display the location of an incoming call (city and state) based off the area code of the call. Ideally the program would only do this if the number wasn't already in your contacts. This would help me determine if I should answer the call or not. I tried searching and the topic came up before but doesn't seem like there are currently any programs compatible with the fuze. I found this program but the site says it is not compatible: http://www.handango.com/catalog/ProductDetails.jsp?storeId=2218&productId=214025&_requestid=186476
Anyone know of a program like this?
cityid i think
City Id came installed on my Touch Pro and its exactly what it does. I dont have a cab since it came standard with my phone but a google search may do wonders

$ 100 Reward for Vibration Application for Hardware Keyboard

Hardware Keyboard - $ 100 Reward
100 USD PRIZE MONEY
Dear All,
I love my X1. The only thing I am not happy with is the (lack of) tactile feedback on the Hardware Keyboard of the X1. As there is little to no 'feel' to when you press the hardware keys.
There is an application out there from Snailslug which produces a small vibration whenever the touchscreen keyboard is pressed... see the following link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=450256
Now I am looking for the same thing with the HW keyboard. If anyone out there is up to creating an application (with a very small footprint) that produces a small vibration (around 25ms) after each key on the hardware keyboard is pressed, I will give that person 100 USD as a big thank you. To make it fair, here are the rules:
- Deadline: 31st of August (not that someone comes two years later and wants a prize for an application I dont need anymore
- First application that does not slow down my X1 and provides the requested result will be rewarded
Thanks and all the best,
why did you open a new thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544306
He want to pay a total reward of $200... I guess...
Or not?
the reward is $100. this thread was created as the last title wasn't 'clear enough' as to what the subject is about. good luck with the application. 100 bucks are waiting
go to advanced edit and change the title of the thread if thats all u wanted to change btw
Next time I know ;-)
............
Was anyone able to come up with an application? Shouldnt be that difficult for those that are able to programm
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425063
Maybe this will work...
If so, I want my 100 USD!

That's different. He wants feedback for when the hardware keyboard is pressed, not the screen.
Features:
- Vibrate always on touch events (mouse down, or mouse up)
- Vibrate only if SIP is active
- Vibrate on Key press (hardware keys)
- Adjustable vibration (duration in ms)
- configuration over command line parameters
- fully event based, so only battery consumption while vibrating
- No runtimes needed (pure C++ application)
- Works with WM 5+ (not 2003)

I think this will do it, but i think the dev has stopt al long time ago. But it has the features WDM wants.
Oh..the 100USD is for the Developer...lol
this should be entirely possible and maybe even easy to do, IMO

so expect an app from you then?
Actually I'm not sure this is that easy to do at all.
I thought ok I'll take a look so created a new device application in visual studio, getting the device to vibrate is easy, this is well documented.
Trapping key events when you have a form / control with focus is also easy. The problem comes when you want to trap key events without having a form or focus.
I've read several posts online pointing to coredll.dll, but nothing definitive.
Lol you need a hook. Sure this exists on WinMo just like on desktop Win.
Great comments guys. Looks like there are at least a few willing to put some thought and effort in this. any chance of one of you coming up with the application anytime soon?

I know I need a hook, which hook, which dll, documented where, that being my point.
I'll have another look at this tonight.

You never stated so. There is not much to such a hook actually I would create the app myself if I had the means. That's about 5 lines of code, just make the device shake and pass the key on. The only trouble you will run into is that the keys seem to be hooked already, so you have to make sure you don't mess with that and prioritize your function.
Thanks Firewall. Is there anyone out there that would be able to write a few lines of code. It appears to be simple enough, if you can programm (which I cannot) which is why i am asking the pros here ;-)
