Dear friends,
I am totally new in this forum, though i've been sailing through it sometimes in last year. You are my last hope
Let me tell you the story of my Himalaya. In september I upgraded to the great Tofclock WM6 posted by helmi. Last week it was on its holder when I received a phone call, which I couldn't answer. When I took the PPC out of the cradle, neither phone, nor calendar, nor contacts worked any more. They don't appear when I push their buttons or when I call them from Start-Programs.
I have tried soft resets (soft, pen), hard resets (PWR+pen), I have even reinstalled twice tofclock's WM6 and once Sheckar's. I haven't reached yet to fix this problem.
Can you help me, friends??
Thanks a lot
did you format reg hive and storage after the reflash?
3. Hard reset your pda.
Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.
Select the options as follows:
(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)
Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES
When done, press DPad and wait until OS starts
Thank you!!!!!!!
Hey guys, you are real crack. After some weeks of wreck and despair, you have showed me the light with only a simple advice.
I have done what you said, and everything is running ok. Thank you, friends!!!

After installing Registry Wizard and tweaking stuff on my MDA Vario, my device rebooted and just stayed on the white screen displaying the operating system configuration screen. I couldn't do anything else with it - I thought it was dead! Having searched all over, I've written a piece about resetting your device here. The one that worked for me for this particular problem was method 3 (but I think method 2 works as well but I didnt have it at the time)
PS I found that it happens when you change the default input from keyboard to something else. Leave it at keyboard and everything should be Ok. Registry Wizard is nonetheless a COOL program, just don't alter the keyboard setting.
Hard Resetting MDA Vario
There are different severities of hard resetting your MDA vario. Which one you use depends on what you are trying to achieve. If your phone is stuck and wont let you play, try the hard core resets (progress from method 1 (less sever) to method 3 (most severe). If it’s just a bit slow, try the soft reset.
HARDCORE RESET 1
start>settings>system tab> Clear Storage
This will still clear all your data and all the programs you have loaded onto your device. You’ll need to start all over again.
HARDCORE RESET 2
I hold the Comm and Voice Button (top two buttons on the side) AND the camera button (bottom right). Keep them pressed in and hit the reset with your stylus. Keep pressed in and let go of the stylus. Release when you see the following message:
PRESS Send to restore factory default,
SEND is the green lift up phone button on the left
It will do a brief format and restore to factory settings.
HARDCORE RESET 3
If your MDA wont budge with HARDCORE RESET 1 or 2, try this:
Enter Bootloader, - hold the "camera" (bottom right) and briefly press the reset button, don't release "camera" until you can see colour screen, connect USB cable, and start to re-flash the ROM (download the latest flash rom update from http://t-mobile.iris-global.com/download_manager_mda_vario.html
SOFT RESET METHOD 1
This is the lightest of the reset methods. This is the one to use if you want to reset your device without having to re-install all your personal programs and data
Simply press the reset hole with your stylus on the right hand side of the MDA device.
DEAD WHITE SCREEN
This was the most usefull help I have ever got ! Spent 3 hours in searching the forums, how to make my Wizard bootable after installing Resco Keyboard Pro. The only option was HARDCORE RESET 3 and reflashing the ROM.
Thanks for the great help !!!
cheers this has helped me too... rest number 2... will have to restore all my data though...
Reset 3 was the only thing that worked.

How to Hardreset a WM5 BA device
Doing a hardreset is easy if you have 3 hands - you have to press camera, record, power and reset buttons simultaneously! Or what I have found also to work is softreset and then as soon as you see the Strips hold Camera and Record. If this worked then you will be a debugger screen (something about KITL), reset registry and format built-in storage. Navigation in menu is done with camera and record buttons, exit - "mail" button.
You will know if you have performed a hard reset if you are lead through the setup of your device section. All else is just a softreset.

Use the old way Power and stylus in the bottom

I get no such thing it does a normal soft reset, i press power and reset thing hole thing at the bottom, and yes i am sure it presses it coz i so feel it and it does normaly do a soft reset, but i cant achive a hard reset.
Here you go:
Do a normal soft reset - hold power and reset with stylus. The moment the screen flashes and before you see the loading screen of Windows (you must be fast - it takes 2-3 seconds and then you're late), press and hold the Camera and the recording button (the two buttons on the left side) until you see three lines with text and YES or NO next to them. I guess you were not very fast and that's why you were not getting the 3 lines with text. I just did that yesterday after my upgrade and it works fine.
When you get these, follow the rest of the instructions from the wiki.
TY......
Hey, Just recently I tried to change my windows mobile theme, just the color of the title bars. I do have the kaiser tweak and HTC 5 button homepage thingy. The title bars didn't change right away so I turned the device off and on. Yet when i turned it back on, it freezes on the ATT startup page and displays the three different numbers on the bottom corner, i think they're some kind of IP or radio. Does anyone have any ideas on what is wrong with my phone? I'ved tried taking the sim card and battery out for awhile and attempted to do a hard reset with the two soft keys and reset button, but nothing happens when I hold the buttons. Any help would be great, I need to use my phone!

I'm really surprised that a hard-reset did not restore you to OEM settings...
WHEN you get restored to where you want it... Try: http://rapidshare.com/files/68506785/UI_TWEAK.ZIP
It works awesomely!
It even catalogs all .tsk files and U can export as well.
Best of luck!

just an FYI:
HTC Kaiser - TyTn II - T-Mobile Vario III
A software option is also available. Start> Settings> System> Clear Storage.
Type 1234 in the box and tap YES.

Press and hold the Left & Right SOFT KEYs and at the same time use the stylus to press the RESET button. Release the stylus but keep pressing the SOFT KEYS until you see the Hard Reset warning screen. Release the SOFT KEYS and then press the LEFT PHONE KEY.

Just to be clear, the soft keys are those two above the keyboard when the device is slid open....? right? Also should the device be powered on when I do this? How long to I have to hold down the buttons? Thanks for all the help!
Thanks I was able to do the hard reset, I didnt know the correct soft keys.
Hi there,
i recently flashed this Rom: /ROM\WM6.5|23017&23060|Benko's 4.9ROM's|NEW| Full, Prime&Clean[Manila2.1 R1.5/16.10]
and everything was working fine. Then i installed some program (SPB Diary). And since then my Diamond keeps on freezing up upon startup. It shows the Notifications Windows (Network provider, Battery status, "No new notifications" and the "close" button at the bottom).
But then he wont react to anything. He doesnt establish a connection to my computer, so i cant flash a new rom on my device either.
Im totally lost, can someone help me?

you will have to hard reset, when u switch ur diamond on, hold volume down, the big round button and hit the red reset button under the stylus, do this while windows is booting b4 it freezes..... i had a simlar problem with spb mobile shell ageees ago lol
I tried then, then i see the 3 colored screen, then it says "No Image File" on a grey screen, then it says "trigger usb host" and "retry entry usb" (does the a few times), then it goes back to the 3 colored screen after a while of waiting, and it says "USB" in the center.
But thats it, problem still there
Any idea?
no if that appears your holding the back button not the round centre button
Thank you so much for your help, i though hard reset was hard reset either way, didnt know that there was a difference between which of the buttons (back, hang up, center) to press.
My Diamond is up an running again, Thanks for the help!
BTW: What exactly are the different modes of hard resetting for? Is there a manual somewhere?

The method you described is for flashing a rom from your internal storage... Next time you download a rom, take the .nbh file and change its name to DIAMIMG.nbh, Then copy it to the root of the internal storage, if you then hold vol down, the back button and press the red reset button, you can flash the rom without using a ruu, this way is also alot faster then the old method
im using WM6.5|WWE|101|XDAUC|Full Rom By jjblaster3|v1final build21887|translatable|3/JAN/2010 atm

(press left and right softkey buttons on the front and hold in reset with stylus until message appears)
5. When prompted, Press "Send Button" (Green Call Button on Front) to Clear Data
6. When prompted, Press "Send Button" (Green Call Button on Front) to Restart Phone" i did hard reset and waited for the " message".
