Hi all,
I've searched high and low for a solution to this and am desperate to have a resolution. My problem is when a text message comes in my phone wakes up and doesn't go back to sleep/standby (even though its set to shut off after 1 minute of inactivity). I have disabled all notifications when an SMS arrives, but still the phone ignores this and wakes up the screen and doesn't disable it again (quickly draining the battery).
Does anyone have a solution for this? A registry tweak/software package?
this should not be happening. Do you have any third party software like phonealarm configuring your notifications.
If not, you may need to do a hard reset to fix this because it should not happen. You can also try downloading memaid (full version needs to be purchased), which has a tool to clear the notification queue.
I'll check out what I have installed that might be causing this....
Sounds like it might need a hardware reset (sigh)

Hi everyone,
I've noticed that my Kaiser randomly during Activesync makes 3 short vibrations.
What the hell are that vibrations??
I've tried to see the applications opened in memory, but I've not found anything.
Someone can explain me what's happening?
It's not QuickGPS, btw.
Thanks,
bye,
ghale.
Most likely, that it would be notifications. You probably set activesync connect/disconnect to have vibrate which will cause that issue. You can either keep it, or just set it to a small sound or no notification at all! Sometimes activesync tends to disconnect/reconnect during a session after it syncs
Ah, ok.
But why it happens randomly?
Why not everyday on every sync?
Thanks for your reply, btw!
Could be alot of reasons. Such as you enabled the feature to go to sleep after x minutes while connected to PC. But sometimes the kaiser wakes itself up, thus reestablsihing the activesync. Another reason could be that the activesync on the kaiser probably became unresponsive and restarted itself. And lots of other possibilites too
Ok, very very good.
Do you know a way to disable this, please?
Well assuming you enabled vibrate for activesync
just go to start->system->sounds & notifications->
Disable events (warnings, system events)(to flush out other possible reasons why it may vibrate)
Make sure programs and its subcategory notifications are enabled.
Go over to the notification tab you should see Activesync: Begin sync
disable vibrate
Samething for End sync
if vibrate wasn't selected it may be another notification that goes off
check each event in that notification tab to see which one is enabled vibrate and disable it(unless you wanted it to be enabled)
All right, thanks.
I've do it.
You have been very useful and let me discover an important notification system for SMS/MMS, Wifi and other stuff.
Thanks very much,
bye,
ghale
I have had my Diamond for about 5 days now. The other day I noticed it will get stuck in a constant weak vibrate. It seems that a vibe event will cause it to start, like the phone doesn't know to stop vibrating.
I call it weak, because while it is doing this, I can go to volume settings, select Vibrate and the much stronger vibrate even occurs. It seems if I shake the phone or move it around a bit the weak vibrating will stop.
Also shaking the phone sometimes causes this weak vibrating to begin.
Sounds like a mechanical issue ? I have installed some apps like GSen & SensorLock. A couple others like Advanced Config and done some of the registry tweaks.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Un install sensor lock and test. i had this issue with an old version ofthat application.
I have uninstalled both GSen (Since it wouldn't rotate SMS for me on Sprint Diamond) and Sensor Lock. The device is still doing this strange vibrate.
I noticed even when I hold the power button and turn it off (soft reboot?) it continues the odd vibrate. The vibrate will however stop when I remove the battery.
Just giving an update. The phone has stopped doing this strange vibrate action. Not sure if it was related to the program un-installation or not. As stated above it continued to do the vibrating action after the program was uninstalled, but definitely less frequently.
I had something very similar the other day. I'm using the swift ROM.
Its never happened before, and i've been using this same rom a for a while now.
ya i have the sprint diamond and mine did that the one time when i took it off the charger. it would vibrate pulses and the phone was like frozen. So i plugged it back in the charger and uninstalled sensorlock and its fine now

Somewhat off topic but did you find anything that rotates in SMS on the Sprint Diamond?
Don't blame it on Sensor Lock. I don't have that program installed & mine started vibrating non stop the other day. I couldn't get it to stop & finally did a hard reset. It still continued to vibrate all the way to the point where it got to the green Windows Mobile screen. It stopped, after that & it hasn't happened again since (this was on Saturday). I had done some of the reg tweaks for TF3D performance & nothing else.
sensor lock was the only program i had installed so it was the reason for me. as far as i know only way to rotate SMS with sprint diamond is the long press key
I have also done some of the reg key tweaks on my diamond. It did happen again last night, but before that it's been a few days. I had GSen installed, and it wasn't rotating on SMS, I think I read it wouldn't work with the Sprint Diamond.
What is the long key press method?
Just upgraded to 6.1. I would like to keep the phone asleep when an alarm goes off, I only want a sound or vibrate notification. I'm pretty sure I had it set-up that way before the upgrade.
The problem is that the phone wakes up for a reminder and it will end up dialing a phone number or some other random thing before it goes back to sleep. This happens because I don't hear the alarm, it is still in the holster and movement pushes on the screen. This has happened several times.
Maybe I was using an app before that I need to put back on, I don't remember. This is very annoying and potentialy embarrasing.
Come to think of it, I want the phone to stay asleep no matter what, until I wake it up. I may have had a phone call that I missed and the movement caused the phone to redial. How can I keep the screen disabled until I push the wake-up button?
Thanks-
Diff
Edit:
This is the Tilt w/ ROM from HTC site
Lock your handset
I think locking the handset will solve your problem. I just tried it, I was able to dismiss the calendar reminder but other functions needed me to follow the unlock route. I assume this will work if you also get called.
Install S2U2.
Set it to lock on wakeup.
Thanks Proto, I'll try S2U2. It looks like it may work, and it is pretty cool too.
Although I would rather use a method with a smaller footprint. There has to be a registry hack that would simply keep the screen disabled until I activate it.
Anyone?
no wakeup on reminder without s2u2
I don't like s2u2 so that doesn't do it for me. I've searched a lot on the internet but I can't find a solution that prevents reminders waking up my phone (and after that being awake in my pocket )
Somewhere in the phone there must be a list of events that can wake up the phone? Somebody knows?
Is there any solution to this problem? Last time my phone woke because of a reminder and then it sent an new appointment to a collegue while moving around in my backpack. There has to be a RegKey or smth on this
Hello!
I've got an annoying Problem with my xda2.
If it's in standby mode for a longer time than 5-10 minutes, there comes no Sound at incoming call/sms/mail anymore. If i go into the sound settings, the phone doesn't play the sound of the ringtones, but vibration works well.
I can only solve this problem,if i reboot the phone.
I turned on wakeuponsms, but this didn't work-after some time in standby mode no sound...
I did a hard reset today morning and didn't use any tweak and the problem came back.
Does anyone got an idea to solve this?My friend got same phone and got the same problem.
Now i turned of Sound for incoming mail, for testing, if this could be a problem, but i suspect this won't work.
thanks a lot & greets
Sandra
Hi
I had this problem, I think the issue is caused by the phone not having enough time to play the sound before it is goes back to standby.
I used the Advanced Configuration tweaker and changed the value under "Battery resuming from suspend timeout" to 10 seconds, which seems to have fixed it.
Regards
Phil
Hi PhilipL.
Thanks for your solution.
Any suggestion for problem with indicating light that blink only for 1 or 2 minutes and after stop (when Topaz is in stand by mode for more trhan 10-15 minutes)?
I would like that light continue to blink up to I will read the sms or e-mail arrived...
Thank you!
I did a new install and now everything works fine.
I don't know, if it's one software i didn't installed again or something else...
It wakes up everytime I get a text message and sometimes seems to wake up for no reason. This didn't always happen but I can't find and option to disable this.
Anyone know what I can do about it?
i dont think so it might be better to leave it alone.

On my phone, every time I receive a text message, the buttons light up for about half a second then starts to vibrate and play the ringtone. It's been doing that since the whole CnD thing and I've just ignored it since it didn't seem to be causing any issues.
You could go into the SMS app and shut off notifications from there. Might make a nice, powersaving script.
I don't know why the phone powers up without a notification. I have found I can't turn on my Wifi when I turn on Background data and it's been off for quite a while (still have autosync off). My data connection is showing heavy useage. The big G is watching us all. It makes me wonder if something is coming in to your phone from somewhere to wake it.
If it's killing you, you could try living without apps for a day you suspect might be doing it, or just schedule a kill at intervals if you can't uninstall it.
You could go into settings and change the screen timeout to 15 Sec so if it does come on, it wont stay on long..
